Dealing with a sick bub is inevitable because they seriously seem to always be sick.... or is it just teething????!!!!! Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Kelsey: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love your podcast as it has helped me turn my health and mindset around completely, so thank you for all you do! I recently saw some information that scares me and would like your opinion. Wild-caught fish are a huge part of my diet, and I eat a piece of wild-caught salmon every day. What scares me is that I just came across several articles talking about how most fish, including wild-caught fish, contain extremely toxic levels of PFAs, or “forever chemicals” that cause all sorts of health issues and that these chemicals stay in your body forever. This is extremely disheartening to me as fish are a main staple of my diet and I'm trying to get the health benefits from them. Does this make it not worth it to eat the fish? Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral. I was wondering what you think of fulvic acid. I've been seeing it all over facebook as a parasite cleanse. One of the forms is a foot soak. And little worms are said to come out. Does Equilife have a parasite cleanse? Thanks Erika: I tried searching to see if you had talked about this but nothing came up…hand, foot and mouth disease. I did a google search but was hoping for more info on this viral virus. It's always going around it seems and my kids have never caught it…until now. Is there an underlying dormant virus one carries with this or not necessarily? Just wanting to understand it better. Thanks so much as always for what you do. Kim: Thoughts on the supplement T2 for those of us suffering with Hashimotos? I was diagnosed at age 14 (now 48). I'm sensitive to medication and my doses change frequently. I'm currently on 137 mcg tirosent and 2.5 mcg cytomel. Feeling hypo so looking into T2 since my labs are ok and i. Range but I feel swollen and like garbage a few months of the year. I follow my health coach protocol and been doing so for several years. I do all the things. Anonymous: Hello. I was wondering how would you flush the kidneys for a child after completing the CBO protocol? Thank you so much Maria: Hello Dr. Cabral, I cannot fall asleep anymore, I have to take sleeping pills. Why is it that I don't have the sleep drive anymore and what is going on and what I can do for more natural way to sleep. If you need medical advice, please see a healthcare provider. The first episode back after a hiatus and we're jumping right into sick-o season. Today I'm talking about Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, which I've previously covered in blog posts (overview and our experience managing it). This is the first episode in a new series on Sick Day Management and how to make it through some of the most common daycare/school illnesses. As always, your most reliable resource for health information is your healthcare provider - and I discuss a few ways you can still access them (or similar services) without going into the office in this episode.

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD). The dreaded scourge of daycares, kindergartens, even occasionally college campuses, and the topic of this week's episode. From the multiple viruses that cause HFMD to the wide array of symptoms (bye bye, fingernails), from the relatively recent discovery of this disease to the ancient origins of all viruses (deep time, y'all), from the changing nature of outbreaks to the development of potential vaccines (fingers crossed) - in this episode we're going way beyond the basics of hand, foot, and mouth disease. Whether or not you've had the pleasure of being up close and personal with this disease, this episode is sure to leave you slightly horrified/mildly impressed by the infectiousness, longevity, resilience, and deep roots of the HFMD viruses.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Department of Health and Wellness continues to register COVID-19 cases daily. Noting the reluctance of the public to get tested, the Ministry of Health is aware that current cases on record are under reported. While hospital admissions are low, we continue to note significant numbers of COVID-19 deaths. Meanwhile, Saint Lucia has tested a total of 16 monkey pox suspect cases, which are all negative. To date, Monkey Pox has not been confirmed in Saint Lucia. The department also continues to receive reports of cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) from healthcare providers and pre- schools on island. Cases of HFMD are recorded annually in Saint Lucia. Early interventions usually limit transmission.

Here are a few things you should know about hand foot and mouth disease and the recommended treatments. The coxsackievirus is the known cause for this common childhood ailment. While hand, foot and mouth disease is more common in children, adults can become infected too. Sometimes they have no symptoms at all, but they and you can still spread the infection to others. How does it spread? Hand, foot, and mouth disease is passed through bodily fluids—which explains why it travels like wildfire in places that young kids hang out like daycares and school. The virus is easily spread to hard surfaces like shopping carts, toys and tables. A person can pass the virus through fluid from the blisters of their rash, mucus in their nose, saliva, and even contact with their poop. It's important for parents to teach children to wash and dry their hands often and properly to help prevent infections. Effective hand washing means wetting hands with water, applying soap, and scrubbing for at least 20 seconds. That is like singing happy birthday. To minimize the risk of getting it and passing it, say no thank you to hugging, kissing, or sharing utensils, cups, toys and other items with people who are sick. Make sure they and you are washing your hands frequently. www.dentalhygiene411.com
