Matt recognizes the ones who are going to be successful are never going to go back to where we were before. Matt is currently working with a commercial real estate client and they know their clients aren’t coming back. So, they’re reinventing themselves. All three of our panelists, including Bill Gallagher, knew that clients would not be wanting to spend any money during the pandemic lockdown. So, they decided to give their work away for free and became hyper-focused on helping others and being in service to others. FRONTLINE filmmaker Tom Jennings and Financial Times reporter Hannah Kuchler discuss their new investigation of Insys Therapeutics — from a jaw-dropping interview with a former sales director who admits to bribing doctors to prescribe the highly addictive drug Subsys, to how Wall Street propelled Insys’ success even as questions emerged about its practices, to what role drug companies’ pursuit of profits has played in the opioid crisis: “I think that it's really interesting just how people are able to disconnect their actions from the consequences, especially in business,” Kuchler says. With federal prosecutors using laws designed to catch mob bosses, Insys would ultimately become the first pharmaceutical company to have its top executives sentenced to prison time in connection with the opioid epidemic. Matthias Walkner, der Zweitplatzierte bei der Rallye Dakar, muss ins Krankenhaus. Der Österreicher hat sich bereits am vierten Tag das rechte Sprunggelenk gebrochen. Das wurde aber erst nach seiner Rückkehr nach Österreich festgestellt. Ein kurzer Rückblick: Auf der vierten Etappe übersieht Walkner eine Abrisskante in den Dünen und springt frontal in einen Gegenhang. Zwar vermutet der Kuchler im ersten Moment, dass durch den enorm hohen Impact das Sprunggelenk gebrochen sei, doch dieser Gedanke verfliegt relativ schnell. Durch tägliches bandagieren und Schmerztabletten schafft er es, die restlichen sechs Etappen durchzubeißen. Der KTM-Werksfahrer holt trotz großer Schmerzen den zweiten Platz. „Wenn du ein ganzes Jahr auf ein einziges Rennen trainierst, dann kämpfst du so lange, bis es wirklich nicht mehr geht“, beschreibt der 32-Jährige aus dem Salzburger Land seine Motivation. Zu Hause angekommen, unterzieht sich Rallyepilot dann mehreren Untersuchungen. Das Ergebnis der Computertomographie zeigt eine deutliche Talusfraktur, also einen Bruch des Sprungbeines. „Wir haben ein MRI und ein CT gemacht, mit dem Ergebnis, dass ich das Sprungbein gebrochen habe. Mein Physiotherapeut und ich haben die Bilder sofort Dr. Hoser weitergeleitet. Er hat sich dann sehr schnell bei uns zurückgemeldet und mir geraten, mich sofort einer Operation zu unterziehen“, so der frisch gekrönte Dakar-Zweite. Am Donnerstag wird Walkner in Innsbruck in der Privatklinik Hochrum von Dr. Christian Hoser operiert. David Denifl, Physiotherapeut vom Red Bull DTC, wird Walkner durch seine mehrmonatige Rehabilitation begleiten.„Es ist ein schöner glatter Bruch, aber mit einem relativ großen Fragment. Der Tag, an dem die Verletzung passierte, ist allerdings schon zwei Wochen her. Der Talus ist ein zentraler und tragender Knochen im Fuß mit sehr wenig Blutversorgung. Einer von den zwei bis drei Knochen im Körper, die eine langfristige Heilung benötigen. Zwar ist es ein Routinebruch, aber er wurde 14 Tage lang nicht versorgt und der Fuß weiter voll belastet. Ich hoffe, der dadurch entstandene Schaden hält sich im Rahmen. Es ist unvorstellbar, dass Matthias mit diesen Schmerzen noch weiter gefahren ist. So ein Bruch ist extrem schmerzhaft“, erklärt Denifl. Bei einem weiteren schweren Sturz während der Rallye Dakar 2016 riss sich Walkner außerdem das Kreuzband im rechten Knie und fährt bis heute ohne. „Weil das Knie zwei bis drei Mal im Jahr ‚auslässt' und es für die Knorpel sehr schlecht ist, habe ich beschlossen es mir richten zu lassen“, erklärt Walkner. Donnerstag wird in Innsbruck der Stift aus seinem Oberschenkel entfernt und das Kreuzband gerichtet. Nach den drei Operationen steht eine lange Rehaphase bevor.
