What's up, dudes? It's a fun, light hearted episode today with special guests Anthony Caruso from ‘Tis the Podcast and CM Chuck from Just Another Friday Night! That's right! We're talking the General Mills monster cereals! Officially created in 1928, General Mills traces its history back to the 1860's. Introduced in March of 1971, Count Chocula is a chocolate loving vampire designed by George Karn. His cereal, as his name suggests, was made of delicious whole grain corn chocolate flavor frosted cereal and marshmallow bits. His Bela Lugosi-inspired voice was provided by Larry Kenney for the commercials. In the 1980's Count Chocula character was re-vamped (pun intended) with a more svelte physique, a slender nose, and added shading on his clothes. New boxes were introduced, even including a set where Lugosi's Dracula chased a terrified Count Chocula.Franken Berry followed soon after in October of ‘71, also a Karn design. He is a slightly rotund pink version of Frankenstein's creature with sweet strawberry cereal and marshmallows. Voiced by Bob McFadden, he was given a Boris Karloff-style voice.Boo Berry, the blueberry flavored cereal ghost mascot, was released in 1973. His Peter Lorre-tinged voice was provided by Christmas special voice acting legend Paul Frees. Boo Berry is a blue ghost with a red bow-tie and red and yellow hat.Rounding out the cast is Frute Brute, a werewolf introduced in ‘74 and retired in ‘82, and Fruity Yummy Mummy, released in ‘88 and retired in ‘92. Both are fruit flavored cereals. In ‘85 the cereal pieces became ghost shaped, and in ‘89 bat shaped marshmallows were introduced.Hanna-Barbera vibe? Check. Classic Universal Studios Monster pastiches? Uh huh. Loads and loads of sugar? Definitely! So grab a spoon, put on your chocolate cloak, and pour out a big bowl full of this episode on monster cereals!'Tis the PodcastFB: @tisthepodcastTwitter: @tisthepodIG: @tisthepodcastFB Group: Tis the Podcast GroupJust Another Friday NightYouTube: @JAFNpodcastFB: @JAFNpodcastTwitter: @JAFNpodcastIG: @jafnpodcastCheck us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com! Show Notes Provided by Jack Adrien: American educator, author, businessman, and speaker Stephen Covey wrote “[f]ind your voice and inspire others to find theirs.” From the age of 15, Larry Kenney used his distinctive voice to begin his career as a disc jockey in Peoria, Illinois. Kenney continued his radio work as deejay for the early part of his career, hosting radio shows in Chicago, Cleveland, and New York. Most notably, Kenney was a regular cast member on the “Imus in the Morning” radio show from 1973 to 2007. Billboard magazine recognized Kenney's vocal talents, naming him the Best Country Disc Jockey “…at a station in a metropolitan area of one million, or more” in 1976. Kenney extended his voice work to include breakfast cereal television commercial characters such as Count Chocula and Sonny the “cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs” Cuckoo Bird to name a few. He also enjoyed a stint as the New York “Bowling for Dollars” game show host from 1976 to 1979. Kenney was later cast as the voice and motion-capture actor for several video games, including as JB Cripps in the 2018 Red Dead Redemption 2 Western-themed action-adventure video game. But Kenney is probably best known for lending his voice as Lion-O, “Lord of the ThunderCats,” to the Rankin-Bass Productions' ThunderCats animated television series that ran for 130 episodes from 1985 to 1989. Fans and nonfans alike can easily recognize the show's heroic battle cry:   “Thunder-…Thunder-…Thundercats, Ho-ooo-ooo-oe!”   It was Kenney's voice that brought the character of Lion-O and the ThunderCats to life, making us believe that somewhere or somewhen, good and evil continue a never-ending battle on the planet of Third Earth. Join the Mint Condition crew as the incomparable Larry Kenney shares his sixty years' behind-the-scenes experiences as one of the entertainment industry's premier voice actors and performers.

Show notes provided by Joe Peluso   If "one is the loneliest number" (apologies to Three Dog Night), then two has to be better. Right? Sure it is. The number two is the smallest, and only, even prime number, but more importantly, it's a symbol of teamwork, service, love, and friendship. Now after two years, and more than 150 episodes of The Secret Origins of Mintcondition wending its way through digital media, the 2nd anniversary episode has arrived! The welcoming, warm, fun spirit of Mincondition Comics lives on for all to enjoy!     Join your hosts, James, Chris, and Joe as they recollect a year's worth of pop culture professional appearances (Michael Jan Friedman, Jeremy Adams, Keith Williams, Dan Madsen, and Larry Kenney), and recurring, treasured friends (Richie. Arco, Jack, Keith, Adrienne, and Josh) popping up to share their nerdiness.      Personal highlights for the past year are shared (including the special episode with Tom Payne), and thanks to the Mint Community are joyfully acknowledged.     Back of the Store Chats, Comics' Corners, Sports Shorts, rants (someone please remind Joe to take his medication) raves and more are the stuff that made for a successful and fun-filled 2nd year.     And as with every reminiscence, some new information is always unearthed. Learn why "the chipper" haunts Chris, and why Joe will never let go of his obsession with The Brooklyn Nets. See what you started, James?     Two years in the books, folks! It's been a blast! And we could not have done it without you--our loyal friends and followers. And so from Three Dog Night to Frank Sinatra--The Best is Yet to Come!!

On this Monday edition of Bernie & Sid in the Morning, Sid wages war on NY1's Errol Louis and the New York Times' Ed K. Shanahan for attacking Bernie McGuirk just days after his passing. It takes a special kind of terrible person to kick a man when he's no longer around to defend himself, that's what cowards Errol and Ed did over the weekend as they engaged in a Twitter war with Sid and fellow 77 WABC Host Lidia Curanaj. Sid spends some time this morning calling on the Bernie & Sid army to do what they do best, and defend the best morning show in all the land with their passion and the love they had for Bernard. Errol and Ed, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. In other news of the day, President Biden spews more lies regarding the economy while he stuffs his face with ice cream, Dr. Anthony Fauci does an "exit interview" on ABC's This Week, Stacey Abrams continues to run her mouth and make excuses for her defeat, Nancy Pelosi had some fierce fighting words for Former President Trump on January 6th, Senate Candidate out in PA John Fetterman can't form a complete sentence, Lee Zeldin says he'll declare a crime emergency if elected as Governor of New York, Nicole Malliotakis owns Max Rose leading up to their election, Kanye West continues to lose his mind publicly, and Kellyanne Conway calls out the fake news during her appearance on The Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis. EMOTION ME

EMOTION ME

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 7, 2021 11:11

2 Te ayuda a conocerte mejor. He perdido casi 300 juegos.
