It's been a LONG time coming back to the passion project, but I made sure that I came back with a great guest. I was able to talk with actress/recording artist/host LeToya Luckett on TWO separate occasions. First, we were both in New Orleans for the 2023 Essence Music Festival & Culture, a place she calls a second home. And more recently, she was a guest of the nationally syndicated radio show, Ryan Cameron Uncensored, before she hosted this year's Urban One Honors red carpet. She's an incredible friend, an always present friend, and a really chill woman to talk with. Grateful that this episode has FINALLY come out cause it's been on ice since last year! If you want to follow LeToya, you can see her on Instagram. I can't wait to see what projects she will have coming up, including an album! I want to apologize again for the delay between episodes, but I assure you that I have some more incredible guests & some great follow up episodes to come. I'm going to finish season 3 strong and looking to build an incredible 4th season this summer! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/therealsix5/message

In this week's episode of The Undressing Room Podcast Presented by Macy's, Lore'l and Claudia Jordan talk about the new social media platform that has taken off faster than any other and that is Threads. But is Threads here to stay and rival Twitter or is it just a fad? Here today and gone tomorrow. Also, can you mix friendships and business together? This is coming from an interview that Kelly Rowland did and she stated that the breakup of the original Destiny's Child really affected her friendship with LeToya and LaTavia who were childhood friends. Sometimes business gets in the way of friendship. Speaking of Destiny's Child, Tina Knowles is robbed and divorced all in one week. Lore'l and Claudia talk about that in Hot Topics. It usually goes down in Lore'l's DMs but today it went down in Claudia's DMs. If you want your question featured on the show, send us a DM @TheUndressingRoomPodcast The Undressing Room Podcast is presented by Macy's. We share our Top 3 Favorite songs & our least favorite song from the album and dive deep into the drama of Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” era. We also discuss our personal theories as to why Beyonce was the one with producer credit on almost every single song, while Kelly and Michelle were MIA. And of course, our thoughts on Mathew Knowles. 2:15: Thoughts on LeToya Luckett's "Back 2 Life" album 10:45: Ledisi's new single is trap? 18:46: Review on Faith Evans and Biggie's duet album 26:55: Ne-Yo's releases two new songs 31:00: Upcoming tours 35:22: R&B Hall Of Fame nominations: Ginuwine and Faith Evans 53:35: Love Letter feature We had to a take a break last week to enjoy Mother's Day but we are back with some more R&B. We start off the podcast talking about the release of LeToya's new album "Back 2 Life" and our thoughts on the album. We spend some time raving about her collaboration with Ludacris on the catchy song "Grey" and also discuss her low album sales. We also look at her inclusion of trap sounds in the production and discuss whether it is needed for an R&B artist to do that. We also talk about Ledisi's new single which also contains some trendier sounds. Afterwards we review Faith Evans and Biggie's duet album "The King & I" which is a project we've been waiting on for a long time. We talk about some of the strong points of the album including its 90's influenced production. We also talk about the release of Ne-Yo's new single "Earn Ur Love" as well our interaction with him on Twitter. We're all on board with his new project as long as it isn't full of Pitbull material. Some of the upcoming R&B tours include Bell Biv Devoe, Mary J. Blige and August Alsina. We talk about the odd pairing for MJB's tour with Lalah Hathaway opening up for her. For our hall of fame discussion, we try to induct Ginuwine and Faith Evans. As usual, the conversation is heated with educated debates on their careers. For our love letter feature, Edd analyzes Tamia's hit record "Officially Missing You".
We poured up some Ciroc Summer Colada and started spilling all our feelings. Days before her brand new album Back 2 Life dropped (AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE TODAY!), LeToya Luckett stopped by YBF HQ to chill with Founder/EIC Natasha. We even got her to spill tea about her NEW bae. LeToya dished up some great advice for her good friend La La Anthony, and explains plenty of things we want to know: What REALLY happened with ex-fiance Rob Hill Sr., that extra personal "Back 2 Life" video anthology, making out with Thomas Q. Jones, staying in her lane, acting updates, trying to not be mad she's single while watching all these couples on Instagram, our sleepover, her status with Miss Tina and Destiny's Chil'ren, people's instagram lives getting her in her feelings, MAD nuggets about the ambitious, successful woman's relationship struggle in 2017, being besties with Ludacris' wife Eudoxie. Oh, and a hilarious mugshot-filled dating story and she does YBF's Fast Fab 5 challenge.
0:55: Chris Brown announces double album with 40 new songs 4:30: TLC's new album cover 10:00: New single releases Marsha Ambrosius, Goapele and En Vogue 14:35: Upcoming albums from LeToya Luckett and Faith Evans 24:10: Legends in R&B that would struggle in 2017 based on physical appearance 33:40: R&B Hall Of Fame nominations: Destiny's Child and Monica 56:10: Love Letter feature 1:00:00: #AskYKIGS We're back on track with episode #51. We start off the podcast by talking about the news that Chris Brown's upcoming album "Heartbreak On A Full Moon" is going to contain 40 songs. One of the songs is called "Juicy Booty" which has everyone excited. We also talk about his documentary "Welcome To My Life" which will be playing in theaters all over the country on June 8th. Afterwards we talk about the new TLC album as they recently showed the tracklist for it. They also posted the album cover for the album which looks like a combination of bubblegum wrappers and Popsicle sticks. Then we talk about upcoming releases in R&B from the likes of Marsha, Goapele and LeToya. For our main discussion, we talk about the standards of music in 2017 and which R&B legends wouldn't make the cut if they debuted today. Some names included Boyz II Men, Robin Thicke and Chico DeBarge. For our hall of fame, we try to figure out if Destiny's Child and Monica should be inducted. The conversation gets extremely heated as some people don't believe Destiny's Child deserves to be in the hall of fame. Monica gets some heat as well, but you'll have to tune into the podcast to find out what happens. For our newest feature, we analyze Donnell Jones' classic song "Where I Wanna Be" and how flawed the lyrics are. We also answer questions from some of our readers. Check out the latest episode of our podcast!
4:00: Podcast journey 5:32: TLC's new single “Way Back” 10:55: Sisqo's remake of the “Thong Song” aka the “LeBron song” 13:05: Mariah Carey's joint venture deal with Epic 16:00: LeToya Luckett announces new album coming soon 19:35: Ranking the top 10 Best Female R&B Vocalists today 45:50: Whatever happened to Zhane? 48:12: Ashanti comments from readers on last podcast 51:50: R&B Hall Of Fame nominations: Lil' Mo and Toni Braxton 1:03:45: Food discussion Our last podcast was our most successful episode yet, so we had to bring our A game with this podcast. With all the Ashanti hate that came in last week, Kyle had to come through and defend her. We start off the podcast by talking about TLC's new single “Way Back” and our thoughts on the throwback sound that they brought to the table. We also talk about the impact of Bruno Mars' latest album now that it has been out for a few months. We also touch on some of the R&B songs that have turned into memes on the internet including Next's “Too Close” and now Sisqo's “Thong Song”. Afterwards we talk about upcoming projects from Mariah Carey and LeToya. It was recently announced that Mariah has signed a joint venture with Epic and she will also be launching her own label. We give our thoughts on what kind of artists she could be looking to sign. We also discuss LeToya's hiatus from music and her return with the new album. Our special topic for this week is some of our favorite female R&B vocalists in the game. Our discussion was sparked by Edd's list that he published on his website, so we give our thoughts on it and also add some names to it. Some artists that we talked about include Tamia, Brandy, Ciara, Jazmine Sullivan and Faith Evans. For our milk carton edition, we talk about the R&B group duo Zhane and try to figure out where they are right now. We also get into more of our hall of fame discussion and nominate Lil' Mo and Toni Braxton. The conversation about Toni Braxton sparks up another debate about Ashanti. For our food discussion this week, we talk about our favorite cakes. Check us out!!!
