There were a lot of big games out 20 years – many of those games we've reviewed on this podcast, this year. But this game involving a raccoon, a turtle and a hippo is a special game for us, as it is the first time we are going back to a series for a look at a second game. We're going back to 2004 to look at a 3D platformer that has big Ocean's 11 energy. We're talking Sly 2: Band of Thieves. On this episode of Stealth Boom Boom, we take a look at what developer Sucker Punch Productions were thinking going into this sequel, including how they really wanted to put a big emphasis on the game's heists. We also discuss the improved AI the team was striving for, a Ratchet & Clank demo, the inspiration of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, and a woman named La La Anthony. Here are some of the things you're gonna hear us chat about in our review: patrolling guards and their flashlights that are basically vision cones; a health bar; enemies that can hear you run; tables you can now hide under; improved stealth fundamentals; fluidly moving around the rooftops of these large hub worlds; the brilliance and inconsistency of the Stealth SLAM (and also Silent Obliteration); spending coins in the new upgrades shop, and the fiddliness of equipping those upgrades; pickpocketing and too much of a good thing; Bentley's strong but heft-less tranq crossbow; the fists of The Murray; boss battles; the mission structure and how everything you do is in service to a big heist; a duration that is way too long and impacts everything; a mini-game mixed bag; going back to the base to switch characters; one of the world's biggest drug operations; and a narrative that is both dark and contains a lot of nice lads being nice. After all that, we take you through what some of the critics were saying about the game around the time it came out, and then we give you our final verdicts on whether Sly 2: Band of Thieves is a Pass, a Play, or an Espionage Explosion. For those who would like to play along at home, we'll be discussing, reviewing and dissecting Untitled Goose Game on the next episode of Stealth Boom Boom.IMPORTANT LINKS TO THINGS

ELGIN CHARLES, known the world over as the “Emperor of Hair”, has been the proprietor of his upscale beauty salon in the heart of Beverly Hills for more than 25 years. The San Antonio, TX native can best be described as a scholar and creative genius; due in part to rearing from both his father, a biochemist, and his mother, an award-winning blues singer. Never one to rest on his laurels, Elgin decided to walk away from a highly successful career in finance at Smith Barney in his early 20s, in pursuit of his passion – hair! His innovative styles and techniques have generated widespread adulation. His client roster has included: Lala Anthony, The Kardashians, Joan Collins, Diahann Carroll, Drew Barrymore, Serena Williams, Gabrielle Union, Joy Behar, Estelle, Verdine White, Star Jones, Natalie Cole, Tia & Tamera Mowry, Baroness Monica von Neumann, and countless other notables. With a background in biology and chemistry from St. Mary's University, Elgin has developed his own signature line of luxury hair care products that fosters the needs of those with varying styles and types of hair. His principles for attaining one's beauty and life goals can be found in his top-selling book, Believe It, Conceive It, Achieve It. Now sitting atop the tonsorial heap, Mr. Charles continues to expand upon his globally recognized brand. Additional salon locations, a school of cosmetology, and an expanded product line are all in the works. Elgin Charles is an undeniable force and an icon in the multi-billion dollar beauty industry, with his sights now set on conquering the literary world. A uniquely triumphant and candidly unnerving read, his second book, By The Way, serves a completely raw depiction of a life lived fearlessly and out loud, despite the odds and the spiritual warfare raging within. Elgin and his ex-wife, television icon Jackée Harry, have a son together, Frank; a graduate of Beverly Hills High and an aspiring professional boxer. In addition to family, Elgin, a known philanthropist, is giving of his time and resources to a number of causes; chiefly, United Way, United Negro College Fund, Women's International Center, and Daughter's Of Power. Elgin is also a very giving performer, with his talents venturing far beyond the beauty industry. He has made appearances in Chris Rock's critically-acclaimed documentary Good Hair, the Style Network's Split Ends, countless talk shows, including Oprah, The View, The Talk, and Wendy Williams, and has even starred in his own top-rated VH1 docuseries, Beverly Hills Fabulous. If ever there were a person who represented both diversity and an exceptional business acumen, it would be Elgin Charles. In knowing this, Mr. Charles felt inclined to embark upon a mission that allows him to serve as a vessel for others to achieve greatness. He founded DIBS, the Diversity In Business Summit, solely for that reason. The annual event seeks to strengthen the presence of diversity and inclusion across all industries, end discrimination against underrepresented individuals in the workplace, and identify clearer paths to equal opportunities for all. Hey girlfriends! On today's episode we're discussing is marriage still the goal. Inspired by recent commentary on marriage from Michelle Obama and La La Anthony, both of whom received a lot of varying feedback. We're chiming in on our thoughts on our expectations of marriage in 2023, are women and men likely to make equal sacrifices to make marriage work, and if the institution of marriage is still the goal. Michelle Obama said that people should be prepared for long stretches of discomfort in marriage, do you agree? La La Anthony said most married people she knows are miserable, do you agree or is this just her reality? Marriage rates are declining, what do you think is driving this? We'd love to hear your thoughts, too so make sure you follow us on Instagram @girlfriendsandgoalspodcast where we'll continue this conversation. Vinnie Potestivo is an industry-leading media and talent innovator who is widely known for his inclusive and impactful approach to brand building and personal brand development. Vinnie was an MTV Talent Exec from from 1998-2007. I was the guy at MTV who helped artists and celebrities claim their brands and their narrative in the original wave of unscripted television. Traditionally, I hired the VJs and scouted the MTV News Correspondents for all of our networks. Then, because of those relationships, I began developing original programming with artists like Ozzy Osbourne and Jessica Jessica Simpson on The Osbournes and Newlyweds. Then with actors like Ashton Kutcher on Punk'd, Nick Cannon on Wild 'n Out, and Wilmer Valderrama on Yo Momma! I'm the guy who put pop royalty in their first tv films when I cast Mandy Moore in 2gether and Beyoncé Knowles in Carmen: A Hip Hopera. With over 25 years of experience, he and his teams have become well-trusted connectors who sell, develop, produce, launch, distribute, and amplify some of the most talked-about original series & talent brands in modern pop culture. Personal brands Vinnie has helped elevate through the use of original content include Mandy Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Tyrese Gibson, Lauren Conrad, Diane von Furstenberg, Rob Lowe, Danielle Fishel, Peter Thomas Roth, Kelly Osbourne, Kristin Cavallari, Nasir “Nas” Jones, Molly Sims, Vanessa Lachey, Susie Castillo, Damien Fahey, Quddus, Suchin Pak, Gideon Yago, Will.i.am, Ebro, DJ Clue, LaLa Anthony, Hilary Duff, and Leah McSweeney among others. A conversation with Vinnie guides us to the fact that there is a process to being a successful recognized creative. That the notion of an overnight success is quite wrong. He shares the most insightful tips to help navigate the waters of a recognized creative. Vinnie insists that artists have to realize that awards are so important. And they are not just handed out randomly they need to be applied for. This means that you need to believe in your work enough and want to apply for an award. Be it the Oscars, the Emmys, or whatever award given to recognize you as a creative. Secondly, credits are equally as important. He observes that there is so much shame as a creative involved in asking for credit credits. And insists that you have to ask for an executive producer credit. Take credit for your podcast and create credit, for your podcast as well. The importance of credit sort of formalizes your production company. Second, It allows you to tag guests, which is a great way for discoverability Third, build a team so that even when you are asking for that recognition there are people who deserve it as well in that collaborative effort. So, it made it easy for him to show up and ask for an award for himself and his team to know that they all won together. And so that we reconcile the personal creative platform vision that we have for our work with the thought that if nobody sees it, then you didn't get your message out. Overall, Vinne gives creatives an amazing do list of valuable tips and tricks. From today's chat, we learn that as creatives we should take credit for our work, enter some awards, and find some collaborators, but also Vinne has encouraged us to tap into that inner mindset that inner creativity takes faith in our work.
