The Right Back At Ya! podcast is a nostalgic journey back to the 2000s pop music era. With hosts David and Joel, this podcast explores the hits and lesser-known gems of the time, providing listeners with fun facts, personal anecdotes, and in-depth analysis of their favorite artists. From discussing the iconic albums of artists like Nelly Furtado and Rachel Stevens to introducing listeners to artists they may not have been aware of before, this podcast is a delightful trip down memory lane.

One of the best aspects of The Right Back At Ya! podcast is the chemistry between hosts David and Joel. Their banter and friendship shine through in every episode, making it feel like you're sitting down with your own group of friends talking about music. Their passion for 2000s pop music is infectious, and their extensive knowledge ensures that each episode is packed with interesting tidbits that even die-hard fans may not know.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its ability to introduce listeners to new artists or songs they may have missed during the 2000s. Whether it's shining a spotlight on underrated tracks or delving into the discography of lesser-known artists, David and Joel's enthusiasm for unearthing hidden gems adds an extra layer of excitement to each episode.

However, one possible downside to The Right Back At Ya! podcast is the audio balance between speech and music clips. Some listeners have found that they need to constantly adjust the volume when transitioning from speech segments to music clips. While this doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the podcast, it can be a minor inconvenience for some listeners.

In conclusion, The Right Back At Ya! podcast is a must-listen for any fan of 2000s pop music. With its entertaining hosts, informative content, and ability to transport listeners back in time, this podcast offers an enjoyable escape into nostalgia. Whether you're reliving your favorite hits or discovering new favorites, The Right Back At Ya! podcast is a delightful journey that will have you singing along and reminiscing in no time.

118: Amy Studt on 'Misfit', life as a 2000s British teen pop-rock star, and Mighty Hoopla debut

Before she rocks out on stage next month at Mighty Hoopla festival, British singer-songwriter Amy Studt takes a special trip down memory lane with Joel and David, reminiscing on her anthemic 2000s smash 'Misfit' and every aspect of her landmark debut album "False Smiles", the Gold-certified album which spawned four singles - including two UK Top 10 hits. Where the US market had Avril Lavigne and Hilary Duff, we were channelling all our teenage angst with Amy! Amy's rise to pop stardom sounds like something straight out of a movie. Enter a "grungy teen" from a seaside English town who loved to write songs, plucked from obscurity by music svengali Simon Fuller (the man behind Spice Girls and S Club 7) and placed in the studio with some of the industry's best pop songwriters and producers. Cue Karen Poole, Yak Bondy, David Eriksen, Cathy Dennis, Gary Barlow, Eliot Kennedy, and Rob Davis. This conversation is a real nostalgic snapshot of a teen pop star's life in the early 2000s. From legendary 19 Management Christmas parties with Amy Winehouse, Pop Idol stars and S Club 7, through to "CD:UK" and extravagant overseas music video shoots... and even the curious case of a Sheryl Crow cover. Proving she's so much more than 'Just A Little Girl', Amy also talks about how her artistry has evolved over the years with the 2008 alt-pop gem "My Paper Made Men" and avant-garde 2019 "Happiest Girl In The Universe" - and what's next for her. Fighters, do you want to get crazy? Because this month marks 15 years of Christina Aguilera's "Bionic" era kicking off with the club banger 'Not Myself Tonight'. The Old Xtina of "Back To Basics" was gone and she's feeling brand new, embracing a futuristic and experimental electronic-pop chapter. 2010 was an epic year for our Caggie Aggie, not only was the new mum back stronger and sexier than ever with a new album but she's also making her film lead role debut with "Burlesque" (Has anybody looked up the air rights?) Joel and David pick things up in 2008 where Our Cagz was starting her new musical journey with the single for her Greatest Hits, 'Keeps Gettin Better'. From there begins the two-year voyage into "Bionic" with an eclectic, "crotch-stirringly exciting cast of collaborators" * that include Sia, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Peaches, Le Tigre, Ladytron, Santigold, Linda Perry, Tricky Stewart (Beyoncé, Mariah), Ester Dean (Rihanna), Polow Da Don (Ciara, Fergie), Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Jessie J) and more. From sex positive bangers like 'Woohoo' to strutting anthems like 'Prima Donna', 'Glam' and 'Vanity', through to left-field electronic-pop experiments ('Elastic Love', 'My Girls') and soaring ballads ('You Lost Me', 'Lift Me Up') - this album is definitely Caggie's most ambitious body of work. So let's get glam and hop in our electronic, supersonic rocket set for the year 2010 and make it pop-pop-pop! * = paraphrased from a Digital Spy review by Nick (Live Laugh) Levine  Follow Right Back At Ya! https://www.instagram.com/rightbackpod/ https://twitter.com/rightbackpod https://www.facebook.com/rightbackpod Follow Joel https://www.instagram.com/dr_joelb/ https://twitter.com/DR_JoelB Follow David https://www.instagram.com/lovelimmy/ https://twitter.com/lovelimmy Email us rightbackpod@gmail.com

Signed to Jive Records and launched in 1999, British pop starlet Ellie Campbell looked and sounded like a ready-made pop star here for the GMTV and Smash Hits audience! Despite having no formal singing or dance training, Ellie's warm soulful tone and star quality was undeniable. The Yorkshire songstress worked with same hitmakers behind Steps (Pete Waterman, Mark Topham, Karl Twigg), launched a handful of singles - including the UK Top 30 smash ‘So Many Ways' - and even found herself performing at the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras! Though she wasn't in the pop game for long, Ellie's bops are forever - and her self-titled album “Ellie” is a real gem!  Before LISA from BLACKPINK, in the 2000s, the world had Thai pop princess Tata Young. Her crossover success in Japan, India, China and across Southeast Asia was pretty much unheard of. Thanks in huge part to her fun signature banger and your new favourite bratty anthem: ‘Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy' (co-written by legendary pop songwriter Savan Kotecha, who has worked with Ariana Grande, Britney, One Direction, and Dannii Minogue).   Tata's catalogue of English tunes is top-tier, as she brings her Main Pop Girl Energy to songs that would be released in the West by Ashley Tisdale, The Cheetah Girls, Play and more. Get ready, 'cause here comes a hurricane! Neon Jungle - made up of Jess Plummer, Shireen Cutkelvin, Asami Zdrenka and Amira McCarthy - scored four UK Top 20 hits including the No.4 smash 'Braveheart'. Their incredible album "Welcome To The Jungle" is packed with bangers, written by More Mega, CockNBullKid, MNEK, A*M*E and Charli XCX!  Grab a pair of fake glasses, a stylish hat (or silk turban!), and give yourself a spritz of perfume, 'cause Parade is here. Bianca Claxton, Jess Agombar, Emily Biggs, Sian Charlesworth and Lauren Deegan definitely made a splash on arrival with their vibrant pop bops 'Louder' and 'Perfume'. The self-titled album is the real treasure trove here! Izzy Bizu, Olivia "Liv Lovelle" Redmond, and Nicole "Little Nikki" Shortland were SoundGirl, a pop R&B trio who worked with Miranda Cooper (Xenomania) and opened for Justin Bieber, Pixie Lott and The Wanted. The avant-garde French house and electronica influences mixed with warm acoustic guitars, acid techno and folk influences brought us big commercial hits like 'Music', 'Don't Tell Me' and 'What It Feels Like For A Girl'; but also wild dance tracks like 'Impressive Instant' and 'Runaway Lover'. Despite the European influences, visually she gave us one of her most memorable signature looks with the camp, country Western aesthetic. There is so much to unpack together!
