Could decentralization, crypto, and figures like Elon Musk change the course of history? In this conversation, Max Borders, futurist and author, breaks down the parallels between America and the fall of Rome, why the U.S. government fears decentralized power, and how crypto, DOGE, and Elon Musk's vision could be shaping the next revolution. From Trump's impact on populism to the rise of AI-driven governance, this discussion challenges everything you think you know about the future of America.Guest: Max Borders • Futurists & Author of “The Decentralist” • More from Max: https://underthrow.substack.com/Related Podcast Episodes:▶ Ex-Mercenary Exposes John McAfee Secret → https://youtu.be/WjvD6hmBz-s▶ KGB Spy Exposes Secrets of Evading CIA/FBI and Cold War Espionage → https://youtu.be/QcgawisAPoIChapters:00:00 Intro01:00 Political Power Corruption03:14 Fleeing States Turning Blue13:00 How States Are Using Migrants for Political Gain23:03 America's Collapse27:30 Comparing America to the Roman Empire Collapse43:16 America's Forever Wars46:13 Civil War or Silent Collapse54:56 Rise of the Military Industrial Complex1:02:18 Failure of the EU & Military Defense1:20:56 Comparison to Communism1:34:19 2016 Donal Trump v.s 2024 Donald Trump1:39:23 Trump's Populism and Shifting to Populism1:50:19 Trump Assassination Attempts2:14:40 Who Can be the Lefts Donald Trump2:27:14 Elon Musk & Decentralization 2:33:16 Elons Musk Goal with DOGE2:39:56 Why Elon Switched to Support Trump2:44:20 The Ecosystem of Crypto 2:53:44 The New America in 50 Years2:59:50 Outro#podcast #Decentralization #Crypto #ElonMusk #America #doge #politics #RomanEmpire #reedmorinshow

This book builds on previous themes, proposing that technology and spirituality are converging as humanity's search for meaning evolves, possibly birthing a new form of digital divinity. Bard and Söderqvist examine historical and cultural shifts leading to an age where AI and technology serve as humanity's next evolutionary leap, merging modern science, mysticism, and a radical rethinking of historical Western ideas.
Send us a textWhat does it actually mean to run a think tank, to create harmony within an office building full of idea-confident folk? Some have called the think tank a monastery, some have called it an academic social club, and some have even called it a policy incubator. What truly is it and how on earth do you lead one? Leading a think tank is a multifaceted job, because you have your own scholarship to do too. Today, I'm excited to welcome the president of AEI, Robert Doar, to the podcast for a similarly multifaceted conversation. Doar talks to us about his work on poverty and, more recently, the Nixon impeachment, as well as his job as the president of AEI. What if humanity soon organizes itself not in hierarchies, but in hive minds? Should we fear the robot apocalypse?Welcome to The Social Singularity. In this decentralization manifesto, futurist Max Borders shows that humanity is already building systems that will “underthrow” great centers of power.Exploring the promise of a decentralized world, Borders says we will:- Reorganize to collaborate and compete with AI;- Operate within networks of superior collective intelligence;- Rediscover our humanity and embrace values for an age of connection. With lively prose, Borders takes us on a tour of modern pagan festivals, cities of the future, and radically new ways to organize society. In so doing, he examines trends likely to revolutionize the ways we live and work.Although the technological singularity fast approaches, Borders argues, a parallel process of human reorganization will allow us to reap enormous benefits. The paradox? Our billion little acts of subversion will help us lead richer, healthier lives—and avoid the robot apocalypse. #RussellNewton #NewtonMG #TheSocialSingularity #TheEndOfPoliticsMaxBorders

After Collapse: The End of America and the Rebirth of Her Ideals By: Max Borders Hear it Here - https://bit.ly/AfterCollapseBordersAmerica is in her twilight. Our systems are headed for collapse. So say goodbye to politics as we know it. In this audacious book, Max Borders shows us that American society is breaking down: Our socio-economic models are faulty. Our hierarchies are strained. Our belief in the founding ideals is fading. Our systems of mutual aid are dying. Our collective intelligence is fractured. Our civil discourse is deteriorating. Our government is in debt and disorder. Just one of the above challenges would be bad enough. But seven? These are a consequence of a deep imbalance. Borders argues that when the masculine coercion paradigm and the feminine persuasion paradigm get out of balance, collapse looms. Despite laying out a disquieting case for America's fall, Borders presents a transpartisan vision for a different kind of society. With a futurist's foresight, Borders draws from the world's wisdom traditions to reimagine the American Founding. At the same time, he calls on us all to turn inward, to become better people, and to criticize by creating. This is your guide to the post-collapse era."One of the books I recommend the most, and secretly wish the whole world would read." - Brian Robertson, creator of Holacracy on The Social Singularity. #AaronBastani #AdamSmith #AndrewMcAfee #AndrewStover #Apurimac #ArnoldKling #Bastani #BBCsNicFleming #Bionomics #CarolinaBaums #ChunkaWui #CommunityReinvestmentAct #DanielDennett #DavidSloanWilson #Diamandis #Economics #EconomistThomasSowell #ElinorOstrom #ElonMusk #FredericBastiat #FriedrichHayek #GaryBecker #GeorgeLakoff #HerbertMarcuse #HighMinds #JamesCScott #JamesHanusa #JaredDiamond #JemBendell #JeremyRifkin #JosephStiglitz #KarlMarx #Kennedy #KennedyMusk #LudwigVonMises #MichaelOakeshott #MichaelRothschild #NormanBorlaug #PaulKrugman #SocialistCommonwealth #StevenPinker #Technocracy #Technosocialism #WalterLippmann #WashingtonStiglitz #ZachMortice #RussellNewton #NewtonMG #AfterCollapse #TheBreakdownOfOurMetaphorsAndModels #MaxBorders

Max Borders claims we don't take “consent of the governed” seriously, but we should. Books by Max Borders
Since 1789, the powerful have consistently broken that promise, as Thomas Jefferson warned they would. So what are we to do? Underthrow is dedicated to the answers. But every answer originates in consent.“We can underthrow the state one contract at a time,” writes author Michael P. Gibson.Real communities are the products of real agreements and actual social contracts—you know, the kind the people sign. If we're right, politics, policy, and presidents won't drive the next revolution. Technology, community, and subversion will.“Every innovation is an act of subversion,” writes Underthrow editor Max Borders. And what distinguishes Underthrow is its commitment to showcasing the ideas, innovations, and institutional experiments that challenge authority.Underthrow is dedicated to the anti-authoritarians, wherever they may be. But we can't just sit on our hands or expect to vote our way to Shangri-La. We have to become a movement—but not just a movement of agitators and activists. We have to start new projects, write fresh code, and create new community protocols. An authoritarian arms race threatens the American Empire. Reprisal begets reprisal. Each side promises to ruin the other, but the people are the cannon fodder. Both seek domination. What would Thomas Jefferson say if he could see the state of things?Embrace the future of open-source law and governance and help Max Borders spread the word for your audience to participate in creating a constitution founded on the principles of community and freedom in balance.New Book.Interview author Max Borders.Borders's new book Underthrow makes a case for replacing our crumbling empire with a society that realizes Jefferson's consent of the governed.New Perspective.Discuss radical new ideas rooted in ancient wisdom.See how we can neutralize unjust power and reclaim our sovereignty by decentralizing political power and spawning new jurisdictions.New Constitution.Explore a plan to create micro-societies in America and beyond. The Constitution of Consent Contest offers $25,000 to the team(s) that submit the best anti-authoritarian constitution."One of the books I recommend the most, and secretly wish the whole world would read." - Brian Robertson"I believe Social Singularity is the greatest and most profound book of the decade." - Stephen Drake“Max's perspectives on the forward march of social structures is refreshing and welcome. … If you're interested in "what comes next" in the human collective experience, it's well worth the read. - Matt Kreinheder“I was expecting the incisive social diagnosis and the lively writing style. The Rational Egoist: Dissecting the Collective Mindset on the Hamas Attack with Max Borders In this thought-provoking episode of The Rational Egoist, host Michael Liebowitz sits down with Max Borders, founder and Executive Director of Social Evolution and author of "Social Singularity" and "Underthrow." The two delve into the deeply troubling reactions to the recent Hamas attack on Israel, particularly the rise of a collectivist viewpoint that disturbingly suggests Israel somehow "deserved it." Navigating through the maze of social media commentary, they unpack the dangerous ideology that informs such perspectives—most surprisingly, not from fringe groups like neo-Nazis but from mainstream left-leaning individuals. This episode explores the lack of compassion for individual human suffering when those individuals belong to a group that's been collectively labeled as an enemy. While acknowledging the imperfections of both the Israeli and United States governments, and questioning the U.S.'s role in funding conflicts, Michael and Max discuss the flawed reasoning behind drawing moral equivalences in complex geopolitical issues. Tune in for an incisive discussion that tackles the peril of collectivist thought, questions the ethics of government actions, and addresses the nihilistic sentiments seeping into public consciousness as events unfold. Beyond his impactful podcasting endeavours, Leibowitz fearlessly engages in lively political debates, advocating for the protection of individual rights and freedoms through compelling YouTube videos and insightful interviews. His unwavering commitment to these ideals has garnered him a dedicated following of like-minded individuals. Leibowitz is a versatile author, co-authoring the thought-provoking book titled "Down the Rabbit Hole: How the Culture of Correction Encourages Crime." This groundbreaking work delves into societal attitudes surrounding punishment and rehabilitation, shedding light on how misguided approaches have contributed to the rise of crime and recidivism. Additionally, he has authored the book "View from a Cage: From Convict to Crusader for Liberty," offering an intimate portrayal of his personal journey while exploring the philosophies that influenced his transformation. All of us agree that the currently political system isn't working, regardless of where we sit on the political divide. With the federal government consolidating and amassing power, it's increasingly difficult to see how they're serving the people instead of the beast it's become. But what is the answer? Is there a solution that moves us closer to what America's founding fathers had envisioned nearly 250 years ago. My guest today, Max Borders, joins us to talk about the concepts in his newest book, Underthrow: How Jefferson's Dangerous Ideas Will Spark a New Revolution. We talk about what it truly means to be free, the idea of a “national divorce,” where socialized services work and where they go too far, the power of decentralization, how innovation is act of subversion, and the difference between and overthrow and an underthrow to change the world. SHOW HIGHLIGHTS: Community governance Constitution of Consent Downsides to dissolution of the United States A “national divorce” done wrong Why would a new constitution be any different Overthrow is violent, “underthrow” is peaceful Understanding the origin of rights The current system no longer serves us Subversive innovation Battle Planners are back in stock. The Rational Egoist - Public Choice Economics and Political Ignorance with Max Borders In this thought-provoking episode of "The Rational Egoist" with host Michael Leibowitz, special guest Max Borders, former director of content at The Foundation for Economic Education, and Executive Director at Social Evolution, delves into the realm of Public Choice Economics, the decline of empires, and the concept of a constitution of consent. The conversation centrers around how government intervention can disrupt natural supply and demand curves in the economy, limiting competition and hindering market responsiveness to actual consumer demands. The discussion also touches on the phenomenon of "rational ignorance," where the average person lacks the time, incentive, or inclination to delve into the complexities of politics and economics. They explore how this widespread ignorance can lead to irrational decision-making, impacting society and policymaking. Moreover, they explore the intriguing concept of "rational irrationality," where people have some knowledge about certain economic principles but choose to ignore them because the consequences do not directly affect them. This behaviour often manifests in the realm of politics and policies, with politicians engaging in virtue signalling, promising minimum wage increases without adequately addressing their potential adverse effects on employment. Max's contest: https://underthrow.substack.com/p/the-constitution-of-consent-contest Michael Leibowitz is a renowned philosopher, political activist, and the esteemed host of the Rational Egoist podcast. In this episode, we explore some of the finer details of decentralization, including how it manifests itself in the digital and physical worlds, how bad actors are kept in check in a society without a central authority, the types of technologies that will help mediate the transition to such a world, and the many flaws and opportunities that exist in such a paradigm. Were you raised to believe that, prior to 1970, women were ruthlessly oppressed in our society? Paul Rosenberg would like to set the record straight with a defense of 1950s housewives. As much as we'll appreciate the long Memorial Day weekend, this holiday deserves a bit of closer introspection. Caleb Franz of the Profiles in Liberty podcast joins me to provide some historical perspective. The Texas elementary school shootings have sparked predictable authoritarian responses from the political class. Here's a dissenting point of view from Michael Siegel on mass shootings, rampages and cascades of failure. The practices that guard human civilization are steadily being forgotten. Max Borders explains how politics is the pathology and morality is the cure in his new book The Decentralist: Mission, Morality and Meaning in the Age of Crypto. As much as I strive not to be dogmatic, there are few areas where I'm more firmly dug in than on the issue of the right to keep and bear arms. I know we're supposed to believe that the ruling class is infallible. Still, as James Bovard explains, corrupt federal statistics cover their endless cons. As hard as the politicians in D.C. are pretending that they are victims of January 6, there's an occasional bit of reality that prevails. For people who are paying close attention, conspiracy theorists look less like fringe extremists and more like people who've noticed something they weren't supposed to notice. David Smith has a great take on the great reset and how this is no path to happiness. Lashing out with demonizing stereotypes is way easier than most of us are willing to admit. Josh Daws has a worthwhile take on how to stand against the trend of turning our kids into little revolutionaries without lapsing into accusations of pedophilia. We're back after a pause precipitated by various conflicting projects and commitments. This week Mark and Charles had the honour to welcome to the show the author, futurist and social commentator Max Borders. Max is the author of The Social Singularity: How decentralization will allow us to transcend politics, create global prosperity, and avoid the robot apocalypse, and After Collapse: The End of America and the Rebirth of Her Ideals. Borders' work around the idea of a coming "social singularity" has a lot of overlap with oft explored ideas here on the Axis: decentralization, networks and tectonic shifts occurring in the world today. We explored the concept of "Satyapgraha" or "Truthforce" and the ideals expressed in freedom movements throughout history.
