Welcome to the Psychedelic Conversations Podcast!Episode 156:In this episode, we explore the powerful concept of "Endarkenment" with philosopher Alexander Bard and artist Owen Cox. Together, we dive deep into the cultural, historical, and spiritual forces shaping modern psychedelic and artistic movements, including the emergence of a "Dark Renaissance." We unpack Britain's unique relationship with psychedelics, reflect on the decline of urban centers, and question conventional spirituality through the lens of shadow, myth, and radical transformation. From cybernetics to Celtic paganism, from Zoroastrian insights to gender dynamics in spiritual practice—this is a rich, unfiltered dialogue about embracing the darkness as a necessary path toward true integration and awakening. Join us for this provocative and inspiring conversation that challenges mainstream narratives and opens new portals of thought.About Alex:Alexander Bard is a philosopher, artist, songwriter and music producer, author of six books with Jan Söderqvist, living in Stockholm, Sweden. Bard built his career as a philosopher in parallel with a highly successful 25-years-plus career in the international music industry. Bard & Söderqvist's philosophy concentrates on the relationship between human beings and technology, using human beings as the constant throughout civilization, with technology as the ever faster changing variable. Their work takes inspiration from thinkers like Hegel, Nietzsche, Whitehead, Deleuze, and Eastern philosophy and spirituality, in the latter case adding Persia to the well known triad of India, China and Japan. They are convinced philosophy will be the last human activity to ever be affected by AI.About Owen:Owen Cox is a British artist and one of the creative leaders of the Dark Renaissance.

THE MANIFESTO PODCAST

We are here to save the West. We see that politics and the political systems have failed or reached a dead end. But how does one save a moribund system from the grasp of an elite, of institutions and to be frank - a significant part of the electorate that benefits from it? Since 2016 the very word for change is the dread and promise that is Populism. In its promise is a belief that our democracy is not just a finely tuned system and a machine that can, and should be managed, but the ultimate expression of a sovereign people. The challenge is both national and supra-national. For today institutions not only span across countries but engulf entire continents. The whole of Europe and the whole of the West is intertwined in a myriad of ways – through academia, through the media and through law.Populism is often decried by its detractors as mere demagoguery – the dark art of fanning popular unrest or the great unwashed ashes to seize power for the sake of power alone. But if we are to use Populism, what is it that we wish to conjure up? The election of Donald Trump as People's Tribune in 2016 along with Brexit started the trend of vast numbers of voters breaking away from traditional voting patterns to support radical change. Before any of this, however, ‘populism' referred mostly to left-wing movements – SYRIZA in Greece and Hugo Chavez in Venezuela come to mind. Are we here coming up against the limitations of this word? Is populism a guiding principle or a political method? The idea of popular uprisings has always been a double-edged sword - the promise of liberation, symbolized in the 1989 great German slogan “Wir sind das Volk!”, but also seen in the violent passions of mob rule, and the corruption historically following in its wake. Are we to condemn Caesar for crossing the Rubicon? Or condemn that arch-populist Pompey for forcing Caesar to do so, while backing a corrupt system? This is a timeless question, and one that shakes the very foundations of the Western world as we speak. There has never been a more apt time to answer them. Hosted on Acast. They are convinced philosophy will be the last human activity to ever be affected by AI. Since the collapse of Western centrism in the last decade, one thing is now very clear – the future is nationalist. The excesses of globalism and universalist thinking that deeply fractured The West has led to an upsurge of popularity for the concepts of 'national sovereignty' and ‘identity' that will dominate the 2020s and 30s.But still, tectonic shifts have made the ground under our feet sway and there is no going back to the self-satisfied days of Western dominance. The very phrase “The West” is by now undermined and made suspect – militarily, morally and philosophically. Within its borders and without, Western civilisation is a term of slander and abuse. This is a series of podcasts dedicated to those people who want to save The West, and who have the will and ideas to get it done. So: What is The West? Who are the men and ideas that will save it? Most crucially, what is to be “saved"?The promise of The West has always been a combination of sovereignty, pluralism, justice and identity. In that vein, this series reacts against, and rejects, attempts to reformulate the centrist and globalist project as well as the nihilism of denying the need for a civilisation. From this vantage point, we ask: What is the role of identity and tradition? What are the limits to openness and pluralism in the world we are now shaping? And what replaces conservatism and liberalism within the scope of nationalism in the digital age?We will strike at these concepts with a hammer and listen to what rings true. We invite you to follow us on a journey to discover this, our future. Will you be among the Men Who Saved The West? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Maniphesto was started as a partnership with Alexander Bard and myself in 2016. After some years, we grew to a state where I realised there were unreconcilable differences in our vision and values, meaning that working together was impossible, leading to us parting ways in 2022. It's no secret that our differences stem from my conversion to Orthodox Christianity. Especially when I saw that so many men were struggling with extreme confusion about their sexuality and attempted to find a pragmatic framework to address some of the worst problems, then we saw how far apart we were. Since then we have had one conversation - a panel debate in Berlin on the subject of marriage. What if a pathway existed to seamlessly connect the realms of Eastern and Western spirituality? As we delve into history, tracing the footsteps along the ancient Silk Road trade routes spanning over 3000 years, we uncover a unique convergence of spiritual wisdom. Within this historical tapestry, Ancient Persia emerges as a pivotal connection point, embodying the heritage of Zoroastrianism—a profound bridge between the spiritual traditions of the East and West.  In this episode with tantric monk and philosopher Alexander Bard, we explore the enduring influence of Zoroastrianism, a 3700-year-old religion that serves as a profound connection between these two worlds. We delve deep into the teachings, practices, and philosophy of Zoroaster, and the impact they could have on our modern nihilistic society that finds itself in a crisis of meaning. From embracing psychedelics to the timeless struggle between good and evil, Bard challenges you to rethink the essence of spirituality.  This episode is sponsored by: MUD/WTR Go to MUDWTR.com/amp to save $20 on your subscription and claim your freebies.  SACRED HUNTING Go to www.sacredhunting.com/ and mention Aubrey's name/podcast for $250 off | Connect with Alexander Bard | Twitter | X | @bardissimo Instagram | www.instagram.com/alexanderbard123/ Facebook | www.facebook.com/alexander.bard To partner with the Aubrey Marcus Podcast | Connect with Aubrey | Website | http://bit.ly/2GesYqi  Instagram | http://bit.ly/2BlfCEO  Facebook | http://bit.ly/2F4nBZk  Twitter | http://bit.ly/2BlGBAdAd Check out "Own your Day, Own Your Life" by Aubrey Marcus | http://bit.ly/2vRz4so Subscribe to the Aubrey Marcus newsletter: https://www.aubreymarcus.com/pages/email Subscribe to the Aubrey Marcus podcast: iTunes | https://apple.co/2lMZRCn  Spotify | https://spoti.fi/2EaELZO  Stitcher | http://bit.ly/2G8ccJt  IHeartRadio | https://ihr.fm/3CiV4x3  Google Podcasts | https://bit.ly/3nzCJEh  Android | https://bit.ly/2OQeBQg

We also discuss the dangers of the polarising debate on transgenderism on both sides of the culture war. Some surprising and necessary insights. Rachel Hayden met with her own gender crisis several years ago. Finding the dogma of "trans ideology" insufficient and problematic, she turned to scientists and thinkers on the liminal web for guidance, eventually developing an aspirational model of gender transition for herself. She has become increasingly fascinated by gender over time and has spoken publicly with many others on the subject, including John Vervaeke, Gregg Henriques, and Alexander Bard. Her interest has recently turned toward healthy models of gender for non-trans people, and she is following the work of such thinkers as Bard, Fanny Norlin, and co-presenter Adriana Forte-Naili to enrich her understanding in this regard. Aydan Connor is a Transman who currently works as a craft beer brewer. He has been slowly entering the conversations in the liminal web space after finding John Vervaeke's Meaning Crisis work through his interview on Jordan Peterson's podcast. In contrast to the superficial biological essentialist trans debate happening in the anti-woke circles surrounding Jordan Peterson, Aydan quickly discovered John Vervaeke's interview with Rachel Hayden, which demonstrated a rich and nuanced interest in the psychology and cognitive science of sex and gender, and most importantly, acknowledged the brain as part of our biology. Aydan has been in regular conversation with Rachel, and now also with Adriana, and is increasingly urgent and invested in finding a way to deepen our conversations about gender and sex, hoping to reverse the current trend of scapegoating trans people. Adriana Forte Naili is a coach and facilitator, but she currently spends a lot of her time speaking about the cyclical nature of the female body. Experiencing the double bind of appreciating her cyclical nature and feeling stifled by Modernity's pressures and expectations, she dove deeply into the question; “how do I show up as a cyclical being in a world that imagines itself linear?”  This inquiry has led her into many rabbit holes, including deep explorations of our social constructs and the ways they shape our bodies, our psyches, our relationships and the systems that we create. She has become increasingly active in the “Liminal Web” having conversations with a meta thinkers, futurists  and philosophers in an attempt to awaken us from our “linear” daze. She sees both Rachel Hayden and Aydan Connor as friends and colleagues in this journey of bringing nuance to the “gender” conversation. You can find out more about her work and vision at:  (https://finelinefullcircle.substack.com/,  https://www.youtube.com/@finelinefullcircle/videos) and https://www.fullyhuman.net.au/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/podcast-c709ee4/message
