Welcome back, my spookies! Tonight, we delve into the bone-chilling universe of Weekly Spooky, expertly crafted by the eerie voice of your host and narrator, Henrique Couto. As we journey into the sixth year of this phenomenal podcast, we pause to reminisce about the thrilling horror tales unearthed during the prior year, 2024, showcasing a rich harvest of storytelling from new and familiar authors alike. In the episode, we commence with an enticing narrative titled "Terror on Your Radio Dial" by Bruce Haney, where we meet 12-year-old Josh, a boy whose fascination with the supernatural transports him from the mundane existence of Boring, Oregon, into the hair-raising legends slumbering in the infamous Gitter House. Fueled by the need to encounter a ghost, Josh embarks on a spine-tingling adventure with his new friend Mike, who possesses his own secrets of the spirit world. As the boys initiate an electrifying sleepover filled with horror movies and ghost lore, chilling events unfold that compel them to connect with the spectral world in terrifyingly unexpected ways. But that's just the opening act! The episode plunges deeper into horror with tales like "Catching a Buzz" by David O'Hanlon, where the innocent excitement of Halloween transforms into a night of peril for two brothers, Grover and Will, as they engage in a reckless challenge imposed by their babysitter. In exploring the depths of temptation, they unwittingly delve into an experience rife with consequences of their actions, revealing the darker side of childhood curiosity and the sinister underbelly of online challenges that resonate with our current society.Next, we navigate the haunting narrative of "The Last Vacation" by Mike Ashkewey, where family dynamics clash against a backdrop of a horrifying apocalyptic threat during a seemingly idyllic cruise. Our protagonist, just off the cusp of adulthood, grapples with the fragile state of their family while confronting extraordinary changes unfolding onboard. As chaos erupts and the world outside collapses, tension mounts and alliances shift, leading to a thrilling blend of action and horror that leaves listeners teetering on the edge of their seats. Finally, we encounter “My Patient Destroyed My World” by Michael Kelso, delving into the psyche of a doctor grappling with the aftermath of his patient's heinous acts. Through the lens of horror, we explore themes of morality, impulsive behavior, and the thin lines that separate sanity from madness, weaving a tale that is equal parts psychological thriller and poignant reflection on human nature.Henrique skillfully stitches these narratives together, inviting listeners to reflect on their fears and the inherent darkness that lingers within humanity itself. From ghostly encounters that chill the bones to the raw terror of psychological dread, this episode encapsulates the essence of what makes Weekly Spooky a frightfully delightful experience. As the show winds down, Henrique encourages listeners to subscribe, explore the extensive back catalog, and stay tuned for upcoming special episodes, including one themed for Valentine's Day that promises to entwine love with horror in the most enthralling way. So, kick back, embrace the eerie ambiance, and prepare for a delightfully frightful ride through the sinister shadows of storytelling at its finest. Until next time, my spookies!
Tonight's episode of Weekly Spooky plunges listeners into the realm of the uncanny and the terrifying as our host and narrator, Henrique Couto, once again captivates with a tale bound to send shivers down your spine. In this thrilling episode, entitled "I Used to Work in a Fire Tower with a Strange Set of Rules," authored by Michael Kelso, we are transported to a night filled with unexplainable events and an atmosphere thick with suspense.Henrique kicks off the episode by reflecting on the seduction of fear and the importance of embracing the terrors of the past. With 2025 lurking just around the corner, he teases the exciting new frights that await us, while also reminding us that our fascination with horror draws deeply from the rich tapestry of stories that came before. Hence, he chooses to recount some of the chilling experiences of 2024, particularly the spine-tingling journey of a park ranger working alone in an ominous fire tower.Listeners are quickly plunged into the ranger's harrowing story, which begins with a job that seemed deceptively simple: a fire tower ranger, tasked with monitoring the forest and ensuring safety. However, all illusions of normality are shattered upon the discovery of a peculiar list of strange rules. Without hesitation, Henrique sets the stage, presenting a gripping narrative where each twist and turn teeters on the edge of the supernatural. Our ranger protagonist, through a series of unfortunate events, finds himself ensnared in a reality he never fathomed—one filled with terrifying creatures and rules that could mean life or death. As the story unfolds, the ranger's encounter at a new job takes a dark turn—he must adhere to bizarre and cryptic protocols, trapped in a warehouse with a host of eerie security measures that only heighten the feeling of dread. With rules forbidding him from leaving, ignoring disembodied voices, and navigating eerie patrol paths marked with colors, the atmosphere darkens further. As the ranger embarks on his patrols, it becomes clear that something sinister lurks within the shadows. With each patrol, he unearths unfathomable horrors and stalks unearthly beings, creating a wonderfully suspenseful narrative that keeps listeners hanging on every word. The ambiance is punctuated with unnerving silences and sudden, horrific encounters with unimaginable creatures—a reminder of how the safety of the mundane can be disrupted in an instant.Couto deftly keeps the tension high, skillfully weaving in details that give life to this chilling tale, from dark hallways with no turning back to the overwhelming fear of being hunted. The ranger's encounters escalate, leading to a cataclysmic showdown between good and evil, sanity and madness. Just when hope seems lost, he finds unexpected allies and resources, forcing him to confront not only the creatures but the many rules designed to protect him from unseen dangers. As we reach the climax of this hair-raising narrative, listeners are left contemplating the moral implications of rules that seem designed not merely for safety, but to entrap. What does true survival mean in a world overrun by the bizarre? With masterful storytelling, Henrique Couto leaves us to ponder these questions long after the story fades into the night.Join us for an exploration that pushes the boundaries of reality while instilling a deep-rooted sense of unease, and as always, make sure to subscribe for more spine-tingling tales. Tune in next week for another fresh fright that will echo in the chambers of your mind. Don't miss out—prepare for the unexpected with Weekly Spooky!

Likely one of the more unique stories you're ever going to hear, Michael Kelso, a retired Command Sergeant Major, served in the Rhodesian Army before the US Army, the 75th Ranger Regiment, a member of the Ranger Hall Of Fame, the father of a young Soldier, and was (no kidding) featured in "Soldier of Fortune" magazine. And to add some icing on the cake, he was the Command Sergeant Major in charge of Ranger School when co-host Michael graduated in August of 1999. Small world!Enjoy the show!

In this weeks episode, Ashton talks about how he transitioned from acting to tech, what he learned from working with some of the worlds best entrepreneurs and investors, his insights into the future of jobs and a reflection on his teenage years and more. -- Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk) got his start in the entertainment industry as a model and then as Michael Kelso in That ‘70s Show. Aston is now widely recognized as a successful actor, tech investor, producer, entrepreneur, and activist. Ashton is the Founder of nonprofit Thorn and co-founder of venture capital firm A-Grade Investments. He has invested in over 60 early-stage companies, including Change.org, Skype, Foursquare, Fab.com, Airbnb, and Airtable. In 2015, Kutcher and Guy Oseary, who was also an A-Grade Investments co-founder, launched Sound Ventures. Ashton has won 9 Teen Choice Awards, a People’s Choice award, and continues to gain experience and achieve what many thought was impossible in the world of tech and entrepreneurship for someone who was once just considered an actor. In this episode with host Cory Levy (co-founder of After School, Internapalooza), Ashton and Cory discuss entrepreneurship, how Ashton got his start in business, and what Ashton expects from founders he’s investing in. “If you’re going to meet with an entrepreneur and they’re not smarter than you about the thing that they’re tackling, it’s probably not a very good investment.”

"It's possible!" These are the words of encouragement from Dr. Michael Kelso. He is a practicing gastroenterologist who has overcome much to make his dream a reality. Dr. Kelso's mother died when he was just 10 years old and that perhaps was the event most responsible for shaping his future. Have you ever tried to test a significant other? Boiling down your relationship to a couple of questions and 'hopefully they got the right answer otherwise they're not the right person for me'? Well, then, you're Jackie Burkhart. Which, let's be real, there's nothing wrong with that, but overall, it's probably not a good sign of your previous and currently going relationship if you need to test them with words the poor person can't even spell. In this episode, Cheyenne and Rain discuss Season 3, Episode 18: "The Trials of Michael Kelso" - in which Fez gets beat up by a rival school and spray painted on an uncomfortable place, Eric is oddly cold about the whole thing, Jackie takes it upon herself to try and test Michael in all areas of life -- even parenting ability and let's just say, that poor egg should've know it had it coming -- and Donna wants to be a lumberjack.Contact us at that70spodcast@gmail.com, that70spodcast.tumblr.com, and @that70spodcast on Twitter with any questions, ideas or comments to throw our way! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a UFO!! It's a! ....... oh .... Oh, it's a Good Year blimp. When UFO hunting with Michael Kelso remember one very important thing: do not go UFO hunting with Michael Kelso. Or Leo for that matter. Although, he will bring snacks! In this episode, Cheyenne and Rain discuss Season 3, Episode 11: Who Wants It More? In which Donna bans sex from Eric after he mocks her opinion on their homework assignment and Eric bans sex from Donna [because apparently, despite what she thinks will happen, that does work in reverse] in retaliation for her banning him, And they both end up suffering. Because, who knew Eric's "Attractive Face" was just so damn hot? Even Donna's surprised.Contact us at that70spodcast@gmail.com, that70spodcast.tumblr.com, and @that70spodcast on Twitter with any questions, theories, or ideas to throw our way! First things first, never lie to your friends about where you'll be staying for the night just to get them to come along to a Jackie/Kelso reunion. No one wants to pee and bathe in the same trash can...long story. Second thing, never underestimate Michael Kelso when it comes to knowing pretty much everything about his ex-girlfriend even though he treated her like crap during the actual course of their relationships. In this episode, Cheyenne and Rain discuss Season 3, Episode 10: "Ice Shack" - in which a unique version of 'The Newlywed Game' is played, Hyde gets pulled over for holding...dog food (because they couldn't give him an actual good story line), and the van somehow gets submerged in ice. If only that would actually kill it.Contact us at that70spodcast@gmail.com, that70spodcast.tumblr.com, and @that70spodcast on Twitter with any questions, theories, or ideas to throw our way! In this episode I am joined by Michael Kelso, co-host of the 2 Dudes and a NES and Metrovania podcasts to discuss one of his favorite SNES games -- the obscure cyberpunk/western shooter Wild Guns released by Natasume (better known for the Harvest Moon franchise). I had never played this game and I can see why Michael enjoys it so much! Any feedback, etc. please send to thesnespodcast@yahoo.com or post to our Facebook page.
