Send us a textYour mind is either your greatest asset or your worst enemy – especially in real estate. When Dr. Noah St. John joins Dwan Bent-Twyford on this episode, he pulls back the curtain on what's really holding most real estate investors back from explosive growth.Known as "the Sheldon Cooper of self-help," Dr. St. John breaks down success into two critical components: inner game and outer game. While most experts focus exclusively on strategies and tactics, Noah's work with thousands of entrepreneurs reveals a startling truth – 90% of the $3 billion he's helped clients generate came from fixing their inner game first.Through powerful stories like the real estate investor who tripled her investment in just two weeks before they even discussed business strategies, or the agent who generated $95,000 in commissions in just 12 days (and subsequently moved from Boston to Aruba), Noah demonstrates why what happens between your ears determines your income more than any marketing funnel ever could. The conversation gets deeply personal as Noah shares his journey from growing up poor in wealthy Kennebunkport, Maine, in a house his parents lost to foreclosure, to paying off his dream mansion 27 years early using his own techniques. "Money isn't money," he explains. "Money is options, money is power – not power over others, but the power to choose."If you've ever felt stuck at an income ceiling, overwhelmed by your business, or trapped in the "hustle until you drop" mentality, this episode offers a refreshing alternative. Learn how to make more in 12 weeks than your previous 12 months while actually winning back time in your life. Your breakthrough might be closer than you think.Take the free Inner Game Scorecard at myinnergame.com to discover what's been holding you back and take your first step toward reclaiming both your power and your life.

They praised the show's protagonist Abed Nadir, played by Danny Pudi, as possibly the greatest Autistic character in TV history. Abed is canonically autistic on the show, and he embraces his identity without wishing to be neurotypical.“Danny understands this and portrays it so well and so accurately without a hint of pity. He does not want to be neurotypical.” —MattThe hosts talked about how the show's creator Dan Harmon realized he is on the autism spectrum himself as an adult while writing Abed. The evolution of the relationships between the study group friends like Troy and Abed is explored, with the hosts praising how the show allows the characters to "unmask" and become more authentically themselves over time. Danny Pudi's ability to accurately portray Abed's autistic mannerisms and traits are highlighted. The hosts denounce common incorrect stereotypes about autistic people, like the idea they lack empathy or desire social connections. Matt and Angela celebrate the positive representation of Autistic culture in Community and contrast it with Sheldon Cooper and The Big Bang Theory.“So it's a uniquely Autistic-centered—celebrating Autistic culture, celebrating Autistic heritage, celebrating the autistic mindset. Whereas Big Bang Theory, it's a laugh track constantly. The punchline is always autism.” —MattDetails about the show's production are shared, including how Chevy Chase caused creator Dan Harmon to be fired for a period, leading to a poorly received 4th season under new allistic showrunners. The highly anticipated upcoming Community movie is discussed, including plot details revealed by Donald Glover about it being a reunion documentary.Overall, Community is highly recommended by Matt and Angela as a show created by and for Autistics.Which Community character do you relate to most? It almost seems like this week's episode of the FPL Fortress should be an episode of Sheldon Cooper's “Fun With Flags” instead. Jiayang's team is filled with five flags, which includes all four different flag colors—yes, we are in the thick of holiday season, but this is one instance in which we don't hope to see festive colors. Our Dilemma Deliberations this week focuses on one binary: playing the game aggressively versus playing the game passively. Jiayang is a member of the former camp right now, while Jacob has leaned towards the latter this season; Jacob is currently 2.2 million places ahead of Jiayang, so make of that what you will. We also dedicate a fair bit of time bemoaning the dry state of affairs within the FPL landscape, and reminisce about the days when there were more than a meager two premium assets in the game.

No soy Sheldon Cooper.

In this episode of The Autistic Culture Podcast:Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have probably heard about Netflix's latest show, Wednesday, and the discussion around whether or not she's an Autistic character. Join us on this week's virtual culture trip as TACP's real life Autistic podcast hosts weigh in.Based on the beloved Addams Family franchise created by Charles “Chas” Addams in 1938, this series stars Jenna Ortega (not Autistic) as the titular character and has already gained tremendous success garnering 341 million hours of viewing time on its platform since its November 2022 release, overtaking a record previously set by fellow giant Stranger Things. The hosts discuss whether the titular character represents an authentic autistic woman and teen.Wednesday (sort of) displays many traits shared by those on the autism spectrum such as a “flat affect,” dislike of physical touch, focused interests, not socially accepted etc., but the show's portrayal is ultimately an allistic perspective of autism. The creators use Autistic coding and tropes rather than casting an actually Autistic actor. Wednesday is compared to caricatures like Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, they say the show engages in "Autistic face" rather than authentic representation. The podcast hosts criticize the show's apparent goal of "fixing" Wednesday to be more socially accepted. The hosts discuss the role of relative physical attractiveness and conventional/allistic story arcs that might make her character more universally palatable and not nearly as “Autistic” as it might appear. Angela: She's not weird—she needs to be fixed. And great news: we have designed this TV show to fix her.Matt: I discovered way back with Tom Hanks playing Forrest Gump that this country loves disabled characters as long as they're played by conventionally attractive, abled actors. While allowing that some Autistic individuals find representation in the character, the hosts conclude that Wednesday does not fully encapsulate authentic Autistic experiences and culture. They see it more as an allistic interpretation for mass appeal than an inside perspective.Do you think that “Wednesday” represents Autistic Culture? For more than a decade, Jim Parsons portrayed theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper in the runaway hit Big Bang Theory. Every day the show airs in constant reruns and it's hard to imagine that the iconic show is gone. As some TV actors suffer the fate of losing their career by being typecast as the very character that earned them fame, Parson's career continues to thrive and though he looks back affectionately at Sheldon, his focus is on the future. This season sees the premiere of Spoiler Alert, an emotional roller coaster of a film that will no doubt garner headlines that read “Jim Parsons Like You've Never Seen Him Before!” Indeed, this is Parsons at his most intimate, his most vulnerable. Sheldon is clearly a figure of the past. His work has earned him nine Emmy Award nominations (winning four), and four Golden Globe nominations (winning for Big Bang). On this episode of Metrosource Minis, we chat with Parsons about his childhood, his classical theatre training, his coming out without coming out, his love for auditioning, his creative process behind Sheldon, handling media attention, his secret for a long-lasting relationship, the behind the scenes of his latest film Spoiler Alert and how making the movie has changed his life. Although he does have a degree in Biochemistry from Manchester, this is not the guy from The Big Bang Theory…it's the other Jim Parsons who is certainly a much, much bigger AC/DC fan, and plays a much more important role in the band's history than Sheldon Cooper could ever fathom—including bringing to life the fan favorite AC/DC TV performance on VH1's Uncut! In this season finale, we dive into Jim's 30+ years as a producer & director who's gone shootin' with everyone from Metallica, McCartney, U2, Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers & Rolling Stones—not to mention his Grammy Award winning Led Zeppelin concert film and the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert featuring Brian Johnson.

Imagine “hearing” colors, “feeling” sounds and “tasting” shapes. That's what synesthetes like Luciano Meirelles, president and CEO of Luciano Cigars, experience. Learn how Luciano's synesthesia has helped him identify nuances of different tobaccos, categorize them and blend them to create some of cigar smokers' favorite premium cigars, including Luciano The Dreamer, Pichardo Clásico and The Sergeant. Host of Box Press, Rob Gagner and Luciano smoke the Fiat Lux Intuition in this interview at Boveda headquarters west of Minneapolis. According to Scientific America, synesthesia is an anomalous blending of the senses in which the stimulation of one modality simultaneously produces sensation in a different modality. In other words, synesthetes experience something through a sense that manifests itself as something entirely different e.g. a taste = some shape. For Luciano, he has an eidetic memory (Sheldon Cooper, anyone?) of tobacco flavors that help him pinpoint which tobacco will blend well together. It's not easy getting people to admit something is a problem, then getting agreement on a solution, then finding the political will and money to get anything implemented. Architectural scholars offer intricate and complex design analysis for even larger and more complex social problems. Design scholars have their own rhythmic and intense way of writing as they search to provide meaningful analysis about buildings, materials, design, planning, and social impact. All this can be a little intimidating for the general public. Imagine if Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang theory studied architecture instead of physics. Yet scholars are the R&D department for innovations that may come 5, 10, or even 50 years later. Joining us are two of the most celebrated, most wicked smart design authors - Joseph Giovannini and Kenneth Frampton. Later, music by the lovely and charming Ilene Graff.
