We're keeping it local with two more Swedish breweries. Especially ones we haven't reviewed before. Sad Robot Velvet Opression is part of the Sveriges Oberoende Bryggerier release that we discussed last week. Velvet Opression is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. We really got into this one. At only 5.2% ABV, it takes like a fruit cake made with really dark rye bread. Brygghus 19 is back on the show with International Haze Double Pineapple Ed. It's 2x pineapple, 1x mango, 1x hops. All the fun we've come to expect. #beer #craftbeer #drinks #belgianstrongdarkale #neipa
Various verses. Today I teach on the topic of oppression.

In this episode host Sybille Straubinger engages with Tayo Alemi, known as Authentically Plastic, a pioneering electronic DJ and producer from Kampala, Uganda. Together, they delve into the profound role of music and art as forms of resistance against systemic oppression, particularly from the perspective of femme and queer artists. As Uganda faces one of the world's harshest anti-LGBTQ laws, Tayo reflects on their artistic journey, including a series of club nights that opened up spaces for the community. The conversation explores the interplay between creativity and activism, highlighting how artistic expression can challenge societal norms and foster resilience within marginalised groups.
Anti-Semitic protests at Columbia University are dominating the headlines. But Sara knows you can't rely on the media to get the story right. So she went to Columbia to see this madness for herself.Today, Sara shares the shocking truth of what she found there. Not only were the demonstrators uttering the most despicable and hateful insults at Jewish students and their supporters, but it turns out these fanatics really don't understand the issues of Israel, Hamas, and terrorism at all.Sara shares her encounter with the demonstrator adamantly demanding that Palestine be free "from the river to the sea." But when asked to name the river and sea in question, the supposedly certainty of the protester's cause evaporated into smug ignorance.Sara also blasts the administrators for allowing this illegal and threatening demonstration to continue at length and announcing that classes will be online for the rest of the semester. She also calls out countless radical professors at Columbia for standing in solidarity with the demonstrators, many of whom are literally chanting slogans in support of Hamas. You've seen some of the footage at Columbia. Now hear what it's like to be there in person as this cauldron of hate threatens to boil over even more, and why Sara still has great optimism for the future of our nation. Thanks for being a part of the Sara Carter Show. Please visit our great sponsors:Goldcohttp://saralikesgold.comGet your free gold kit today and learn how to get $10,000 in bonus silver. Aaaaaahhhh....getting our photos taken. Do I hear a collective groan? I do know a couple people who don't get stressed at the idea of a photo shoot (or simply having a friend snap a photo on their phone!) but most people I know get anxiety at the thought. Photographer, Éadaoin Curtin, recognized that her clients were stressed out and decided to do something about it. Éadaoin's goal is to empower her clients throughout the process. I think getting our photos taken has a special place in the Patriarchy--it can truly bring up ALL OUR STUFF. The impact of the Male Gaze in our culture cannot be understated. Éadaoin helps women challenge beauty standards and lean into self-acceptance--a radical act if ever there was one.
