Ciganda won in eigen land.

Welcome to the Fore Golfers Network/Michigan Golf Live Podcast Ep 403 - Alan Shipnuck - LIV And Let Die We welcome in best-selling author Alan Shipnuck to talk about the investigative work he invested into the writing of LIV and Let Die: The Inside Story of the War Between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf No journalist on the planet has taken a deeper dive into the origins, personalities, controversies, bizarre twists and turns, and soap opera dramatic moments in the formulation and fight for survival that accompanies LIV Golf and the PGA Tour's attempts to thwart mass defection. If you like "behind the scenes" stories, the latest from Shipnuck delivers big time. Alan Shipnuck, the New York Times bestselling author of Phil, returns with a major new work of insider reporting on the battle for the soul of professional golf between the PGA Tour and the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League. Over the past two years, professional golf has been at war, and Alan Shipnuck has been our most trusted correspondent on the front lines. Following closely on the heels of his bestselling sensation Phil, Shipnuck turns to the conflict that made Mickelson, and many other top golfers, villainous in the eyes of the public: LIV Golf's controversial—and belligerent—storming of the professional golf world. (LIV's unofficial motto, immortalized on hats gifted at a staff party: “F--k 'Em All.”) In LIV and Let Die, Shipnuck delivers the inside story in real time, with fly-on-the-wall reporting from the yachts where LIV was hatched and within the corridors of power as the PGA Tour flailed to fend off the threat. Shipnuck has traveled seamlessly between both tours—having countless conversations with players, caddies, CEOs, agents, financiers, lawyers, flaks, fans, and Instagramming wives—to deliver a no-holds-barred account of the most chaotic moment in golf history. Anyone who has a stake in professional golf lined up for an interview with Shipnuck—because they knew everyone else was talking to him, too. The disruption to an old, proud sport was largely conducted in the shadows, but LIV and Let Die delivers numerous revelations about what really happened, and why. Shipnuck's unparalleled access and award-winning reporting chops provide rich portraits of the brand names at the center of this sprawling tableau: Greg Norman, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Jay Monahan, His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Dustin (and Paulina!) Johnson, Pat (and Ashley!) Perez, Patrick (and Justine!) Reed, Bryson DeChambeau, Jimmy Dunne, and many more. Bankrolled by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, LIV Golf has upended the men's professional game with vast riches—blatant “sportswashing,” from the mouth of Mickelson himself. Says Brandel Chamblee, “I think the LIV players are in a morally indefensible position, with a willful blindness to the consequences of their action, making them complicit to the ongoing atrocities.” Rory McIlroy said of playing a tournament alongside LIV golfers, “It's going to be hard for me to stomach.” But the battle to thwart LIV revealed a deeper struggle within the game. “The Seminole guys, the Augusta National guys, they're used to having all the power in the golf world,” says LIV's Peter Uihlein. “They don't like to be challenged. They're not used to it.” The bitter feuding (and trolling) between the PGA loyalists and the LIV camp made the battle between the tours deeply personal—but for the top leaders of the two tours it was strictly business, and in a series of secret meetings they reshaped the future of the sport. LIV and Let Die provides the previously unknown background and crucial context to understand the armistice between the tours that shocked the world in June 2023. Long known as the most fearless writer on the golf beat, Shipnuck has delivered another hotly anticipated book packed with juicy nuggets and in-the-room-where-it-happened action...think Bob Woodward moonlighting on the sports desk. LIV and Let Die is the definitive account of the biggest (non-Tiger) golf story this century and a lively page-turner that in places reads like a spy thriller. ---------------- Subscribe to the FGN Podcast Watch FGN videos on YouTube Check out our other sports pod: Church Pew Sports TEXT or CALL (989) 272-2383 to share your thoughts, comments, suggestions, and questions
We're back this week for an episode with your two favorite podcast hosts. No guest this week on Chasin' Birdies, but that's ok; we will keep you entertained. We have a lot to cover since our last episode drop. We open up the episode with a lot of LIV Golf talk. Bash played in the Pro-AM at the LIV tournament at The Greenbrier. We talked about what that experience was like from start to finish. He was paired up with Peter Uihlein and Scott Vincent. He talks about what the pairings party was like and who showed up. A very interesting story takes place where he was mistakenly thought to be Abraham Ancer. We navigate the episode over to some fun banter, and Pepe explains his recent golf adventures. Playing in his 4th Member-Guest of 2023, he comes up short again and gets waxed by some people with too many dots on their cards. Pepe tells us he spent some time in Nashville recently playing at Troubadour, but we can't get him to tell us who he played with. We have to imagine, though, that it was someone famous in the country music scene. We turn the episode over to some current-day golf talk and end it with no Tap-In segment! We will be coming back in two weeks with a new guest for your listening pleasure, but for now, we hope you enjoyed this light-hearted, humorous episode of Chasin' Birdies! It's Friday! Andy and Brendan jump into it with some early thoughts on the Burly Boy from England by way of Louisiana, the Baton Boy at home in Florida, and a Coody immediately popping on the Honda leaderboard. There's an audio “Design Disasters” segment after Brendan woke up to a 3-minute rant from a Euro Tour caddie on the 17th at DLF, which demanded further investigation. Then they get to the LIV season opener, and all the social media stunts the players have had to partake in down in Mexico. There's also a review of Pat Perez's quip about the PGA Tour being booted from the venerable Mayakoba and Peter Uihlein's analogy that the 4 Aces are just like the Yankees. There's some incredulity and scorn for the new SIWGR. The week closes with an SGS Golf Advice segment on Full Swing watching best practices, albatross doubt, and a “vigilante course setup.”
In Episode 34 of CLUBHOUSE VIP, Woody and Pro-K recap the weekend in Professional Golf, Whether or not golf is more mental or physical, and the current state of women's golf.We start in Jeddah where Brooks Koepka's holds off Peter Uihlein for his first professional win Since the 2021 Waste Managment. We then head from Saudi Arabia to Japan where the PGA tour held the ZoZo Championship. There's contemplation about what a ZoZo is, whether anyone cares, and the significance of Rickie being back in contention.A discussion then ensues about the tweet that ingited Mike's weekend twitter fueds. Is golf 90% mental? What percentage mental is it? At what level of golf does the mental game matter most? What categories of the game fall under "mental game"?Finally based on inspiration from Ladies European Tour player Laura Beveridge we discuss the state of the Womens game. The USGA and PGA of America's big bet on womens golf, women maturing and peaking younger than men, golf retaining female golfers, and how can more eyes be brought to the womens game to help increase revenue and purses?Be sure to like and subscribe and check us out on our socialsTwitter: @ClubhouseVIPpodInstagram: @clubhousevippodWoody Twitter: @MichaelwoodjrIG: @mwoodjrPro-KTwitter: @Pro_K_VIPIG: @Joshua_Prok
This Monday episode reacts to an INCREDIBLE sports weekend with wild scenes in Knoxville, Fort Worth, Utah, Salt Lake, Cleveland, Philly, and Jeddah, among others. Andy and Brendan sort through it all, starting with the Zozo, where Keegan and Rickie put some people to sleep. They assess Keegan's strong career, which now resides in the Pancake Zone alongside Fowler. They compare five-year peaks and some other names from the five-win club. On the 54 Tour, they react to a 4A player like Peter Uihlein suddenly becoming a force out on the LIV circuit. Brooksy's tears and comments about getting hot or finding his game during a quiet part of the season are addressed as well. Should there be a major in each quarter? There are a few amusing observations from the broadcast on Niblicks hype, unflattering graphics, and a potential opportunity for a “Fan Vote Friday” redux situation where the listeners can get involved in the broadcast. The women competing in their own Saudi-backed event rounds out the episode, with Lexi's quotes on the subject reviewed.

Peter Uihlein joins the podcast, firstly to recap a busy couple of year's since being on the show, before we get into the focal of the discussion, the LIV Tour. Peter is very candid about his reasonings for the move, understanding people's concerns, why certain elements of the criticism being thrown at him bother him more than others, and a lot more. This is a very polarising topic in the world of golf right now, and it is divided on what people think about the LIV Tour, and the players that move there. Hopefully though, this podcast gives you an insight into why the move is made, how 'growing the game' can actually mean something, and why ultimately Peter decided to leae the PGA Tour, in favor of his new venture. We at Lost Fore Words want to thank Peter for coming on, and discussing a difficult topic, while being an transparent and honest throughout.
A lot going in this week in the game of golf... The LIV Golf Invitational Series is having their inaugural event this week in London. Names like Dustin Johnson and Kevin Na have renounced their affiliation to the PGA Tour and have committed to the LIV. The long term effect of these choices is yet to be determined but the drama is high. Along with those notable names are some very young athletes we were very surprised to see... Peter Uihlein, Turk Pettit, James Piot, and Andy Ogletree just to name a few. No matter where you stand politically it is going to be interesting to see where this tour goes and I hope you enjoy our conversation, its a pretty great one. Hope you enjoy and we will see you next week!

What a show we have for you this week! The boys begin the show by talking about the Zurich Classic and the fantastic team competition. Is 2021 the year of Cameron Smith? Will Louis and Charl recover from this? Will the Massachusetts boys Richy Werenski and Peter Uihlein continue in good form from this? The boys also discuss the new player bonus pool for their "impact score" on golf. This will hopefully open the doors for new golfers and continue to build the community. Brooke Henderson is shout-out by the boys for winning her 10th LPGA Tour title and breaking her 2-year drought, and the boys choose their Daily Fantasy picks for the upcoming Valspar Championship. As always, we finish with Bogeys for the Boys and a Chooch Golfer Poll.Support the show by hitting the LinkTree below!https://linktr.ee/DuffinUp Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/duffinupblog) --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/duffin-up-podcast/support
The ladies take center stage again on this week's YSO pod as we kick things off with the Big 12 Women's Championship update and whether anyone can make a run at OSU on the final day! We then talk Lydia Ko's big win on the LPGA tour and preview the LA Open at Wilshire CC in Los Angeles this weekend (primetime golf)! We then recap Stewie Cink's boat-race victory at Harbour Town in the RBC, give a shout-out to OSU's Peter Uihlein (and his dad) after his win on the KF Tour, and share some news about a few YSO Golf "road trips" on the calendar over the next 10 days! Then, we make our picks/best bets on the interesting format that is the Zurich Classic down in Nawlins. All that, and so much more on this week's YSO pod!!!
TJ recaps an awesome win for 47 year old Stewart Cink at the RBC Heritage. Cink won the tournament for the 3rd time, but this one had his son Reagan on the bag. On the Korn Ferry Tour, Oklahoma State alum Peter Uihlein won for the 1st time since 2017 in Vegas, plus other great finishes by local players. And can't forget about our local college golf teams!
This Monday episode begins with a discussion of some Chicago saloons, such as Lottie’s, the title sponsor of this week’s LPGA event, which Lydia Ko won on Saturday night. Brendan and Andy get into some of the astounding stats of Ko’s recent run, the brilliant pace of play, and what it could mean for a second peak. Then there’s an unplanned diversion into the Will County Amateur, where Tony Romo contended before a second-day fade. For the Heritage, they discuss Stewart Cink’s longevity, his kid caddie, and his past coach changes. Collin Morikawa’s frightening putter is also a topic as is the Si Woo Kim putt that hung on the lip for 40 seconds, leading to a mini-flashback to a similar issue that might have cost Denis Watson the U.S. Open after some tough justice from a rules official with an eye patch.
