We start with the latest from Grant's Bachelor season—will he and Litia be able to work past their religious differences, and who do we think will be his final two? We also break down Zoe's complete lack of a sense of humor, Carolina's brat behavior, and whether Grant secretly told Rose he was thinking about her during that dance with Carolina. Plus, we finally get some answers about Beverly's sudden exit from the mansion, and we are so excited that Golden Gary's back! Then, we dive into the latest from Love Island All Stars—Curtis continues to be the absolute worst, but which couples actually like each other, and who's just faking it for the cameras? We also debate whether Samie is a better match for Luca than Grace and if there's more in Omar's kisses with Tina than he's letting on. Finally, we wrap up with some major reality tv dating show gossip, including the latest rumors about The Bachelorette's future, tea from Serena and Kordell's recent press blitz, and why the men of Bachelor Nation are catching heat for their Super Bowl halftime show takes. In this episode, KP and Samie Gonzalez dive deep into their journeys as salon owners and beauty industry trailblazers. They share the highs and lows of launching their businesses at a young age, making the leap from commission salons to owning their own suites, and navigating the chaos of entrepreneurship. KP reflects on how she's grown as a leader, emphasizing the power of nurturing and developing her team to drive success. The conversation also touches on the challenges of hiring and training experienced stylists, and the crucial need to find team members who vibe with the salon's vision and culture. KP and Samie unpack the evolving expectations of younger generations in the industry, the ever-important role of social media in building a brand and clientele, and the balancing act of homeschooling while running a business. They highlight the importance of delegation and seeking help to keep evolving as salon owners. This conversation is a testament to the resilience, grit, and growth mindset needed to thrive in the beauty world.
Should we be bringing preventative medicine into the emergency department, or is it just using up valuable time? Our first paper this month looks at the "Cessation of Smoking Trial in the Emergency Department (COSTED)" trial, which presents the case for opportunistic smoking cessation intervention. Next up is a topical research paper on interpreting CT scans with artificial intelligence, and how machine assessment measures up against experienced physicians. Then there's a trio of troponin papers, discussing high-sensitivity testing. The final paper this time is not a paper but a guideline from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, setting out best practices for dealing with suspected cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. Articles discussed in this episode: Cessation of Smoking Trial in the Emergency Department (COSTED): a multicentre randomised controlled trial. McCullough and Snyder discussed the latest offerings for youth this fall at the Osage Prairie YMCA.
In this episode of the podcast I had the pleasure of chatting to two wonderful and inspiring ladies Linda and Samie from TNR North Platte in Nebraska! They are really wonderful ladies and have achieved so much for the feral cat community in their local area. Starting in 2014 Linda (the founder) worked alone, one cat at a time if you like and she did an amazing job in fixing colonies of cats - one of which she talks about here and how much of an impact her contribution to them has made through TNR!Fast forward and Samie was looking for something to fill a little void in her life and do something meaningful for herself as well as others and so she came on board and handles the social media side of everything for this incredible non-profit as well as being hands on when required, trapping and organising TNR with Linda.TNR is at the forefront of what this wonderful organisation does but there are instances where foster is also key and with a small team working in the background it is often possible and with this comes the opportunity to give so much more to these cats who at that time have no name, are not cared for and yet they have a chance to suddenly have a name, a family of their own and live a best life! Getting these adoptable kittens socialised and off the streets with this chance of a great life TNR North Platte really do everything possible to create these opportunities and chances. The ladies are humble, kind, compassionate and you can tell that they love everything they do with their whole being. Their local community should be so proud of them and thankful... yes ......thankful for what they do and how they do it! If more people stepped up in small communities up like this pair do then these poor innocent cats would live a better life with more opportunities for a good life off the streets, Yet these powerful women are doing it by themselves and their small team so it shows exactly what can be achieved it people just take a chance and try! Please consider following their work, supporting them too if you can here on their Instagram and Facebook page : (1) Trap Neuter Return - TNR - North Platte, Nebraska | FacebookTNR North Platte

On this episode we are joined by Samie Blasingame, the communications campaigner for the Stay Grounded Network. Stay Grounded is a global network of more than 180 member organisations, among them local airport opposition and climate justice groups, NGOs, trade unions, initiatives fostering alternatives to aviation like night trains, and organisations supporting communities which struggle against offset projects or biofuel plantations. Also individual activists, academics, trade unionists and interested people can contribute to the network. Stay Grounded aims to exchange experiences, support each other, and campaign together for a reduction of aviation and its negative impacts. They also engage in fighting problematic climate strategies like offsetting emissions and biofuels. Their vision is a form of mobility that rests inside the planetary boundaries and allows a livable future for us and our children. Samie has an academic and professional background in environmental policy and planning with a focus on urban regeneration, sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems. Currently, she is based in Berlin, Germany where she works for Stay Grounded and is active in various sustainability and climate justice groups across Europe. Have you ever wondered what you are truly passionate about? Today I am talking with entrepreneur Samie Roberts all about figuring out your passion. She shared with us how she got her feet wet with different careers to really hone in on what she truly loved doing. Samie also discussed with us how she was able to find balance in regards to having a business and raising her daughter. She mentioned that having her daughter actually helped with creating more balance because it created more structure. I had asked her what tips does she have for moms that are working from home with kids and she said it is helpful if you can create a structure in your day and create goals. Samie also shared with us what she has learned working with her husband and what makes things work. One topic that stood out to me is when she said just put yourself out there or your product out there before it's even ready, don't wait for it to be perfect. Self-care isn't really bubble baths or getting a massage. It's setting boundaries, asking yourself the hard questions about your life, and getting uncomfortable in the short-term to fulfill your wildest dreams in the long-term. This week, my friend Samie & I dive into what it looks like to develop an actual self-care practice that changes the way you view your body & your life, and how she's making waves in her community in San Diego, CA, holding space for these conversations to be had. Listen to the episode, and then start your journey with this journal prompt: Can you recall the first time you felt conscious of your body? When you were aware of how your body moves, how it looks, how it fees. What you liked? What you wanted to change? How did this consciousness affect how you move your body in certain spaces? Today I interview Samie, co-founder of Bustld, which is a US-based online platform which connects wedding vendors to engaged couples. With her experience as a wedding planner and as co-creator of this matching platform, Samie is uniquely placed to talk to us about what she feels is at the heart of a successful relationship between couples and wedding vendors. She also does a lot of work to vet suppliers for her directory, so I really enjoyed asking her about how business owners can work on strengthening their brand and continuing to inspire trust in the couples they serve - and on the other side of that, how couples choose who is trustworthy and reliable. We discuss her top tips for couples currently planning their wedding and booking their dream team, and the lessons we can take away from 2020. We finish off by chatting about virtual weddings, which is something she offers through her Love Stream platform, and ways that these broadcasted wedding days can still feel joyful, personal and momentous for those couples who choose to go down this road. To find out more about her and her work, do head over to her gorgeous Instagram profile, or over on Bustld, LoveStream, and her podcast too. If you would like to connect with me, you can always find me on Instagram, on my website, and directly in my inbox by emailing valentina@thestarsinside.com - I would love to hear from you!If you enjoyed this interview, make sure you subscribe so you don't miss out on any upcoming episodes – and if you could leave me a rating and a review that would be hugely appreciated too!
