Married to Medicine’s newest resident, Anila Sajja, steps Behind The Rope. The wife of an oculofacial plastic surgeon, okay let us break that down, Anila is here to chat about all things Season Eight of Married to Medicine. Anila chats about how she originally got involved with the show, the reality of the experience versus what she expected the process of filming a reality show to be, and how the experience has changed her as a person. Yea, sometimes we go deep here Behind The Rope. Of course, we chat with her about her first impressions of, biggest dramas with, and current status of her relationships with all of our favorite Doctors and Doctors’ Wives - Dr. Jackie, Dr. Simone, Toya, Quad, Dr. Heavenly, Dr. Contessa and Kari Wells. Of course, we nudge Anila to spill some tea about the remainder of the current M2M season, what we can expect, and what drama is a comin’ our way. We also chat about the absence of series creator and one of the former Executive Producers, Mariah Huq discussing the fans’ outcry, the pressure of replacing a fan favorite and last, but certainly not least, whether her absence had anything to do with her lawsuit against Bravo alleging racial discrimination, among other claims. Anila opens up about the importance of representation on television and what it meant to join an already established cast as the only Indian American on M2M. Being an ATL resident we had to ask about which Real Housewives of Atlanta she knows and what does she think of Nene’s recent behavior and departure from RHOA.@anilasajja@behindvelvetrope@davidyontef Bonus Episodes Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetropeBrought to you by Mint Mobile https://www.mintmobile.com/velvetropeBrought to you by Better HELP https://www.betterhelp.com/velvetropeMerch Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Welcome back to Season Eight of Linking Our Libraries! We are so happy to have you with us this season! You can find our show notes page here, with all the information we discuss here today, links to all kinds of resources, and links to the books we share. We are the Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange. Our members are libraries of all sorts: public, schools, academics, special libraries, archives, and history centers. Join us in working thorough skills library staffers can use to be more successful in their work! One of the most frequent questions we get from our members is how they can start to set up a makerspace. And of course, there are as many possible answers to that as there are libraries.Today we will walk through a few basic ideas, to be sure you can feel confident in your own library’s makerspace. We have talked to several people who were worried they would not be able to set up their makerspaces the right way. So we have good news to share right away: There is no “right” way to do this! Your makerspace can be as individual as your library. As with so many things, you just have to get started. You can always refine it as you go along.

This week we are going to take a trip to the past, and update one of our episodes from Season One: Library Gardens. It’s cold and snowy outside, but it’s never too soon to start thinking about setting up your garden. Join us in dreaming about warmer weather, fresh flowers and vegetables, and all sorts of fun library activities! Libraries increasingly include gardening in their programming, or just as an activity for staff to do with some help from patrons. As more research is done on the physical and psychological benefits of gardening and spending time in nature, more people are turning to their gardens. And of course, during the early stages of our pandemic, many people worked on gardens and gathered seeds to start a hobby and to have the possibility of fresh food.

Even after we get back to some semblance of normalcy with our current pandemic, the push to provide online programming that can be accessible to more people will be popular. All the skills we learn now will continue to be helpful. And it is still going to be awhile before we get to any sort of end of pandemic precautions. So we can all keep building skills to provide the best service possible to everyone!

Angel opens-up Season Eight, Episode One, with guest Head Coach Larry Owens from Bellarmine University. Larry had a question about the pitching motion, specifically, the common flaw of lifting the rear leg off the mound early in the motion, so much so, that it looks like the pitcher is pitching on one leg. Angel goes into depth about not only the role of the rear leg, but the effect lifting the leg has on rotation and arm mechanics. Email Angel at angel@gymscience.com www.GymScience.com

Below Deck’s Sustainable Shane Coopersmith steps Behind The Rope. Current Season Eight Deckhand, that is. Or should we say just terminated Season Eight Deckhand. No shade, we loved our chat with Shane. Those are just the facts. Shane chats about how he was cast, his self admitted lack of real world yachting industry experience, and being thrown on board, almost literally, with no prior training by Bravo to be a part of this Season Eight of Below Deck. Shane chats about the challenges of the actual job he was hired to do with no real world experience versus the challenges of the ever present Bravo cameras to make a good TV show. He chats about how he planned to use the Below Deck platform to spread the word about sustainability, he is “Sustainable Shane” after all, and how he feels about the fact that the majority of sustainable footage filmed, paper straws aside, ended up on the cutting room floor. Speaking about Below Deck footage, Shane explains the truth about the several scenes the audience saw which led to his termination and details what we did not see as viewers surrounding those “heavily edited” scenes. Of course, we address his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live (WWHL) where he decided to chat about sustainability rather than answer all of Andy Cohen’s questions surrounding current season Below Deck Drama. Shane explains what was going through his mind during this appearance and what happened off air during comercial breaks. Finally, Shane responds to both Kate Chastain and Andy Cohen’s comments earlier this week regarding this WWHL appearance and their perception of just how real is his commitment to the growing problem of sustainability in today’s society. Of course, we chat about relationships with current cast members Elizabeth, James, Eddie, Francesca, Ash, Izzy, Rachel and last, but certainly not least, Captain Lee.@sustainable.shane@behindvelvetrope@davidyontefBonus Episodes Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetropeMerch Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It is a pleasure to welcome American Ninja Warrior rising star and physical education teacher Sandy Zimmerman to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Sandy Zimmerman made her American Ninja Warrior debut during Season Eight. While she competed in Season Nine, injuries sidelined her during the show’s tenth anniversary season, but her husband, Charlie, ran in her honor. Sandy returned more robust than ever during Season 11. She became the first mom in show history to successfully get up the Warped Wall and hit the buzzer during the Tacoma/Seattle City Qualifiers. Thanks to her appearances on American Ninja Warrior, Sandy Zimmerman caught the attention of various media platforms. She made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show and was profiled on CNN Entertainment, E! News, The Huffington Post, and Women’s Health. Sandy also appeared on various podcasts, including Ninja Babes, Ordinary Champions with Austin Andrews, and The Socks & Soul Podcast with Kelly Ditto. Outside of American Ninja Warrior, Sandy Zimmerman has taught physical education for over 20 years. She also established the Ninja Fortress community in her backyard, where students of all ages can train for 40 different obstacles. In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Sandy Zimmerman discussed competing on American Ninja Warrior’s game-changing Season 12, which included getting onto the Warped Wall for the second season in the row. She also spoke about the expanding Ninja Fortress community.
My 18 installment- Update on the Madonna’s work during this year’s 'Reconsecration of North America' to her plus final thoughts about the 17-part release of my book Constant Procession & also what I learned about producing a weekly podcast. Here are some final thoughts following the completion of the summer re-release of my book Constant Procession and the accompanying podcast. Today I reflect on where we’ve been, giving me a chance to introduce the theme for Season Eight, the next installments of Constant Procession- the podcast. I value feedback through the comments section on my website OR- Better via email at NikosSteves@gmail.com Constant Procession tells of key apparitions of the Virgin Mary since she passed on from the world and how she serves humanity through Christianity. The origin of these podcasts began with my book Constant Procession. An e-book copy of the book can be found on my website: ConstantProcession.com Constant Procession; the podcast; is published every Tuesday morning and has links, photos, video and more information for each episode at ConstantProcession.com
For the milestone sixtieth episode of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, I welcomed my longtime friend: author and singer Branden James. Our paths first crossed in 2013 when Branden first appeared on America’s Got Talent (AGT)’s eighth season. I was genuinely moved by his showmanship and his outstanding covers of “You Raise Me Up,” “Alone,” and “Hallelujah.” Months after he was eliminated one week before the Season Eight finale, I conducted my first interview with Branden.A few guests have appeared on both jakes-take.com and The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast that I can say I developed strong friendships with, and Branden James is one of them. I am proud of all that Branden has accomplished throughout his career, including starting up a new act with his husband, James Clark. The duo (Branden + James) performed in over 50 countries and performed in various venues that range from Feinstein’s 54Below to live-streaming concerts. For the first time since 2013, Branden James returns solo for an exclusive interview. In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Branden talked about his new memoir: Lyrics of My Life: My Journey with Family, HIV, and Reality TV. He also spoke about being a part of AGT’s legacy and Chasing Dreams, his first studio album that he recorded under Branden + James.
Time was, the biggest L&D brand was a long-vanished enterprise called the Katherine Gibbs school. What it taught: the hugely in-demand skill of working the world’s most valuable piece of information technology, the manual typewriter—a technology that hit its peak in 1975 with the Smith Corona Super 5-Series portable electric typewriters, famed for being quiet, efficient, and fast. But 1975, as we hear in this latest episode in ‘Season Eight,' where we’re ‘Connecting The Dots’ to form a picture of what we’ve learned in 18 months of our investigation into the future of Workplace Learning, was also the year that the company behind that awesome machine and the subject of all the hard training at the Gibbs schools went bust. 1975 was also the year two kids surnamed Gates and Allen teamed up to start a company called Microsoft, that 6 years later would release its first ever stab at word processing software. So in this episode, it’s a lot of déjà vu; we replay how some once-invisible industries crumble, how once-ubiquitous careers (membership in the company typing pool) can vanish, and how skills that once seemed really worth learning (transcription and stenography) can become worthless almost overnight. Along the way, we meet some interesting historical characters, but end with a really challenging proposition: what if we’re seeing very similar patterns, where we’re teaching stuff that in a few short years no-one will need to know… and we might be calling it computer programming right now?
Here’s a question that’s fascinated me my entire professional life: How might technology change the future of Learning and Work? But actually, as I finally figured out only a couple of years back, the more important is WHY technology change the future of Learning and Work. That insight is what eventually led me to set up both The Learning Futures Group and this podcast, which has now hit over 50 episodes in just over a year. And what I’ve Learned in that journey is what I am starting to try and feed back to you guys in this special season of the podcast, which is where I am trying to ‘Connect The Dots’ and map out some provisional findings from my conversations with CLOs, edtech pioneers, Learning Scientists and thinkers out there. In this second episode in the run, I return to what sparked my personal journey—the arrival of Microsoft’s third CEO into my life—as well as relevant soundbites from just a few of the great people we’ve met so far. So, welcome (or welcome back) to ‘Season Eight:' with an overall theme of ‘Connecting The Dots,’ our aim is to move slightly away from our interview format to a more ‘radio feature’ audio style, where we are pulling together insights gained from all of our conversations and research to scope out what L&D needs to do to catch up with Our New Normal, starting with: another stimulating clip from super-inspirational MS’s Satya Nadella on why he led the charge to move from a ‘Know-it-all’ to a ‘Learn-it-all’ culture (and why that freaked me out!); what some of our podcast guests are worried about; a scary look into a workless world, which is already here for a big part of young Humanity (hint: William Gibson—The future is already here, it’s just unevenly distributed); and much more.
It’s our first birthday as a podcast! Though actually just over a full circle round the Sun, we’re still celebrating… yup, an amazing 16 months of podcasting, with this as our 50th episode—landmarks accompanied, we’re amazed to say, 20,000 downloads. And the way we’re doing that isn’t so much with cake and candles, awesome as those things are, but a new format for ‘Learning Is The New Working’ we’re calling ‘Season Eight.’ With an overall theme of ‘Connecting The Dots,’ our aim in this new collection of episodes is to move away from our interview format to a more ‘feature’ audio style, where we pull together sound clips and insights gained from all of our conversations and research in short chunks we will lay out our manifesto for what L&D needs to do to catch up with The Fourth Industrial Revolution, natch). In this scene setter we review where we are, starting with that great quote we reference from President Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel back in 2009—that you should never let a serious crisis go to waste as, “it’s an opportunity to do things that you did not think you could do before.” We then fast forward to remind ourselves about when Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told us about the Future of Work arriving, a great observation from Kevin Oakes of i4CP, who we met back in Season Six, as well as: an audio snapshot of me asking CLOs if they feel they’re confident they’re adding value back in February in London; reminding ourselves what some recent podcast guests like E&Y's Mary Slaughter and Cargill's Julie Dervin have been saying about the crisis; a fascinating look back into when the robots started coming… and it’s been longer than you think! and much more.

It's a five person team as @TatianaKing, @Porshea_Obvi, and @DjBenhameen and our special guests discuss the good and bad of Season Seven of Game Of Thrones, and make some wild ass predictions about Season Eight and how it will all end out. It's the Season Eight premier of your favorite show (and podcast)! Casey Jost, James McCarthy and Danny Green are back to break down the episode and take you behind the scenes. Chad and Brian finish off Radiant Terminus and talk about possible interpretation of the ending, whether anyone came out of this book OK, the balance between humor and horror, written vs. oral culture, possible readings or approaches to the novel, and a desire for a "Post-Exotic" journal. They also revisit Volodine's two-part series, "Post-Exotic Novels, Novelles, and Novelists" from The New Inquiry, and mention McKenzie Wark's "The October Revolution of Antoine Volodine." As always, you can watch these episodes live on our YouTube channel the day before they’re released in podcast form. Season Eight will launch in mid-April (details TK) and will focus on Sjón's CoDex 1962. Get your copy now! Follow Open Letter, Chad Post, Brian Wood, and Rachel Crawford for more thoughts on Volodine and literature in general, and for information about upcoming guests. You can find all the Two Month Review posts by clicking here. And be sure to leave us a review on iTunes. It really helps people to discover the podcast. This season's music is all from Mother Earth's Plantasia by Mort Garson, which is Moog music for plants. This week you can hear "A Mellow Mood for Maidenhair."

Durning the month of December, we're revisiting some of our favorite, most informative shows. This is a rebroadcast of episode 175featuring cat behaviorist and host of Animal Planet's "My Cat From Hell", Jackson Galaxy - enjoy! It’s the Cat Daddy himself in this special episode of the podcast! Stacy has a fascinating conversation with Jackson Galaxy, the once-musician whose special bond with felines catapulted (sorry!) him to fame as a champion for helping people better understand cat behavior and find creative ways to help them. Season Eight of his show, My Cat From Hell, opens in late April with Jackson bringing 50 doomed kittens from Los Angeles on a van ride to Denver, accompanied by Kitten Lady Hannah Shaw. Jackson describes a number of the life-saving initiatives his foundation is piloting throughout the country, and gives a treasure trove of advice about what individuals can do to make a difference: “Every something that you do will save somebody." TNG Season Eight. Going into Season Seven, many of the actors from The Next Generation were contracted through Season Eight. At some point, the decision was made to end the show so that the creatives could focus on movies and the launch of Voyager. In this episode of Earl Grey, hosts Phillip Gilfus, Darren Moser, and Daniel Proulx discuss various aspects of TNG’s lost season. What would we have wanted to see? What would we want to avoid? What might we have gotten? We also discuss how an eighth season of The Next Generation might have affected the other incarnations of Star Trek.
We were watching "Jurassic Park" on TV the other night and laughing at the part of the movie where paleontologist Dr. Grant has just seen the dinosaurs. He says, "I think we're out of a job." And Ian Malcolm (played by the totally awesome Jeff Goldblum) says, "Don't you mean extinct?" So many of the things we do here at CoasterRadio.com are inspired by pop culture and this week's show is no different. This week, we ask the audience to pick one type of ride that they would like to see leave the face of the earth. We're not looking for specific rides... only ride types. Some of the answers (especially from E.B.) are shocking! We also have a Live Trip Report from Magic Joe! Joe is normally part of the Window to the Magic Podcast, but this week, he brought his binaural audio gear to California's Great America to record an audio treat for our ears on their new coaster "Gold Striker." You'll feel like you're on the ride with him! The show then goes live to Orlando, Florida to talk with Mike's wife Molly. She's down in the theme park capital of the world visiting Mike and Colleen (who have been featured on the show several times.) They'll talk about the latest testing going on with MyMagic+ and some of the strange rumors floating around the Walt Disney World resort! And, don't forget to take our LISTENER SURVEY! We're working on Season Eight of CoasterRadio.com and want to hear from you guys about how the show is doing! Check out all of the show notes and links in our new interactive ZEEN - "In Styleee!" It's brand new for Season Seven!

Season Eight and the Mirror Universe continues with more readings, more comments, and more evil Margon!
Every television show has a "showrunner" -- one person who sits at the nexus of the writers, directors, cast, crew, and studio and network executives and call the shots. As the showrunners for Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, executive producers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper make the series happen. GateWorld recently sat down with Wright and Cooper at their home base -- the famed Stargate production offices in Vancouver, British Columbia! Thanks to the generous gift of their time and candor, we are pleased to present the complete interview in this 3-part series. For the first time ever, you can sit in on a conversation about the past, present, and future of the Stargate franchise inside the offices of the shows' creators. In part one of our interview, the executive producers reflect on the two shows' accomplishments in Season Eight and Atlantis's first year, and setting up a new enemy and a new environment for telling stories in Season Nine. (Beware of some minor spoilers for the new season's first three episodes.) They also talk about the very real necessities of science fiction television production, about which viewers are often unaware. GateWorld's interview with Brad Wright and Robert Cooper is available in MP3 audio format for easy listening. Part one about 15 minutes long, and is also transcribed below. You can also download the interview to your MP3 player and take GateWorld with you! Continue to Part 2 >> GateWorld: What is your overall opinion of Season Eight now that it's in the history books? Brad Wright: Season Eight? Robert C. Cooper: I don't remember ... it's a blur! GW: Let me just say that the second half, especially "Reckoning" through "Moebius," is fantastic. We loved it. RC: Thanks. I'll tell you, we felt like we ended the show. We felt like it was the closing of a chapter on Stargate SG-1. BW:: We thought we ended it three times even before that. RC: But this was the real ending! And in fact so much so that in discussing whether we were going to come back and do SG-1 Season Nine or a new show or whatever, we basically -- and the decision was made to do Season Nine -- we decided that regardless of the fact that we're continuing the same series, we're done ending things. We're not going to write another season that leads up to another ending. Season Eight brought startling revelations and conclusions to many storylines, including Anubis, Oma, and Daniel's ascension in "Threads." That's over! Ending the show is over. Because, quite frankly, it seems as though the show will never end. So instead what we decided is we're going to start beginning again. This new season, Season Nine, is much more about opening all kinds of new doors and starting fresh -- not just for the characters but with the storylines. BW:: The truth is it had to be done anyway because the Goa'uld are defeated and because there've been some big cast changes. RC: There's a certain point at which, yes, for some really developed fans who've followed the show from the beginning, "Reckoning" and "Threads" and "Moebius" really paid off a lot of things for the characters and for the plots and made you feel like watching the show for so long was really a satisfying experience. All these things were coming to a nice head and culminating. But also, Season Eight -- again, I think if there was anything wrong with it was it was a little bogged down in all the wrapping up in having to service storylines that had come from before. [It] in some ways alienated a new audience who may have been coming to the network, SCI FI, to watch Atlantis for the first time, tuning into SG-1 and going "Huh? What's going on? Who are those people? What's this storyline?" We couldn't do a long enough "Previously On" at the beginning of every show to explain to new viewers what was happening in this particular episode. GW: They seemed to be getting longer and longer. RC: Well,
Chris Judge talks about some of Season Eight's biggest episodes and SG-1 new lease on life in Season Nine.
In the second half of our exclusive audio interview Amanda talks about Season Seven's special challenges (including directing!) and what she hopes for Season Eight.
