After considering "World Religions" as such, in this episode Dad and I turn our attention to considering a specific world religion. But our burden here is not to discuss the details or the disputes about or within Islam, but mainly to inquire about it as a challenge to Christian theology. Do we wrongly exalt the finite man Jesus to the status of the infinite? Does our complex creed betray a fatal weakness compared to Islam's simple one? How did God as Christians know him allow a competing monotheism to arise under his providence? Not surprisingly, we also put some theological questions of our own to Islam. Notes: 1. The Power of Istighara: Seeking Allah's Guidance in Difficult Decisions

To this end, superficiality should be abandoned. Allah shows us that the only way to change what is in ourselves is to make a sincere and profound change with a sense of fear of Him, faith and zeal. Allah has promised great blessings to those who change what is in themselves and adopt the moral perfection which is worthy of His good pleasure. This change must be sincere, profound, and made with a sense of fear of Allah, faith and zeal. A person must recognize the wickedness of their lower-self and not surrender to its desires and passions, instead purifying and disciplining it, reproaching and criticizing it. To make such a change, superficiality must be abandoned. Allah's promise of blessings is a powerful incentive to make this change, and those who do not heed it may find their blessings reduced. Allah merely wants to punish them by means of them in this world and for them to expire while they are unbelievers."A person must strive to change and be sincere in order to earn Allah's good pleasure. Allah will never wrong anyone, and if he has not changed, it's because of weaknesses that must be addressed. Allah listens and knows all, and demands sincerity in a person. The change Allah speaks of is a deep, sincere intention to not display a morality displeasing to Allah. If one is sincere, he can find the right path with Allah's help and increase his blessings. However, Allah can also test faith by decreasing blessings, and these changes may not always be a sign of bad morality. Allah's blessings can be seen as a blessing or a test, depending on the situation. Believers should consider all possibilities and examine their own shortcomings if they are experiencing a loss in blessings. Seeking Allah's refuge and repenting are also important steps to take. On the other hand, if a person is experiencing an increase in blessings, they should give thanks to Allah and strive to be more moral and deserving of Allah's mercy.

Existential significance Mohammad gives no basis for a relationship with God; this would be “shirk”—giving Allah a partner Mohammad is not a mediator or a miracle worker, nor was he raised from the dead. He is dead. Jesus establishes a relationship with God as Lord and Savior. Jesus: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. As we start a new year, it's natural to reflect on the past and make plans for the future. Setting New Year's resolutions is a common practice that has been passed down for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations. But what is the true purpose of setting goals and how can we ensure their success? In this discussion, we will explore the importance of setting ambitious goals, the role of prayer in achieving them, and the significance of connecting to the teachings of Ahl-e-Bait AS as a path to understanding and serving Allah. We will consider the idea of uncertainties and why it is important to seek support from the almighty power to make our aspirations successful. We will also discuss the importance of standing against oppression, specially that of 1400 years ago and that of today in Hijaz, and to work towards the cause of the last Imam - Imam Mahdi. The practice of setting New Year's resolutions has been a part of human history for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations such as Babylon. They believed that by writing their goals on tablets and praying to their gods for help in achieving them, they could overcome difficulties and achieve their aspirations. Today, we may think that life has changed significantly since then, but in many ways, it remains the same. We often think that we have control over our lives, but the truth is that there are many uncertainties and variables that are beyond our control. This brings us to two possible scenarios for approaching the new year: the first is to do nothing and lead a random, unguided life, while the second is to set specific, ambitious goals that are aligned with our priorities, vision, and principles. It is important to note that we have the power to act or not act. If we choose not to act, nothing will be accomplished. However, if we choose to act, there is the possibility of both success and failure. Failure is often caused by a lack of understanding or the inherent uncertainty in life. One way to remove uncertainty and increase the likelihood of success is through prayer. The ancient Babylonians and Romans prayed to their respective gods for guidance and support. However, as Prophet Joseph mentions in the Quran, it is a blessing of Allah that he has only asked us to pray to him. The question is, is it better to have many gods or just one true God? Life can be difficult and full of distractions that can cause us to lose focus. That's why it's important to seek spiritual support from Allah, the single God, and the creator of all things. In summary, setting goals and writing them down is an important step in achieving them. But more importantly, it is important to pray to Allah for help in achieving them.

Our culture is arguably more ethnically and religiously diverse than it has ever been in its brief history. Technology in communication and transportation has brought a world of people and ideas to our shores. We can know about events all around the globe in just an instant. We are bombarded with ideas and beliefs that are wholly foreign to our own. The information age can be overwhelming at times. Our neighbors may be Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, agnostic or atheist. Where do we begin a dialogue with them? Where can we find a modicum of common ground with our non-Christian friends and neighbors? On the second part of our discussion with Dr. Gary Habermas about Jesus among other world religions, we unpack a few helpful points about how to thoughtfully engage those outside the Christian faith. What are some areas of agreement upon which we might focus? What makes Christianity unique? Who is Jesus? Who do men say that He is? Who do you say Jesus is? These the most important questions we can ask ourselves and others and Gary gives us some help in asking and responding to those outside the Christian faith. Dr. Gary Habermas is a Distinguished Research Professor of Apologetics and Philosophy and chairman of the department of philosophy at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He received a Doctor of Philosophy degree (1976) from Michigan State University in history and philosophy of religion with a thesis entitled "The resurrection of Jesus: a rational inquiry," and previously a master's degree (1973) from the University of Detroit in philosophical theology. He has specialized in cataloging and communicating trends among scholars in the field of historical Jesus and New Testament studies. In 1985, Habermas debated the then-atheist and evidentialist philosopher, Antony Flew, on the question of Jesus' resurrection as a literal and historical/physical event, before 3,000 attendees. Five philosophers and five professional debate judges judged the debate. Of the philosophers who judged on the content of the debate, four voted that Habermas won and the other was undecided.... Skeptics who disbelieve in the Bible will often propose different reasons for why the New Testament was written. One popular objection suggests "legendary" information crept into the texts we have today and there is just no way to tell fact from fiction. Others say that the Gospels contain real historical information but that the disciples and others were simply mistaken about Jesus' resurrection. They thought Jesus appeared to them, but there is no way to tell if He really did or not. New Testament historian and scholar Dr. Gary Habermas, our guest this week on Apologetics Profile, has heard most every popular objection ever given about Jesus rising from the dead. He has debated and been interviewed by atheists and skeptics and has spent most of his professional career compiling solid historical evidence for the resurrection. A burgeoning challenge for Christians today is the increasing criticism from skeptics and atheists about the historical reliability of the Gospels, especially the resurrection of Jesus. While some atheists and skeptics, such as New Testament scholar Bart Ehrman, affirm Jesus really did exist, almost all either deny or doubt that Jesus actually rose bodily from the grave and afterward appeared to eye witnesses. Since most of us are not New Testament historians or scholars, we might feel ill-equipped to address such criticisms. This is where our guest on the next two editions of Apologetics Profile provides us with a basic framework for answering our skeptical critics about the historicity of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Gary Habermas is a New Testament scholar and historian. His life's work has been compiling historical information surrounding Jesus' resurrection and distilling his data into a series of 'minimal facts' that the vast majority credentialed scholars in the fields of antiquities, ancient history, New Testament criticism and historical Jesus studies accept. These are some 'minimal facts' on which nearly all Christians scholars, secular academics and even atheist professors agree. This is the 'minimal facts' approach; a kind of historical "Roman's Road" that provides very basic historical information in "headline" format for helping lay and scholar alike to begin conversations with skeptics who doubt the resurrection. These 'minimal facts' on the the resurrection of Jesus are certainly not the only historical data that to which Christians may appeal.
