In this week's episode, Aaron and Kevin have a conversation about telling our stories. Maybe you've heard this called "giving your testimony" before, but we want to nuance this conversation for you. Because, we do believe that your story matters and you should not be afraid to share it. But, learning to do this well, so that you don't worry about having to have a major dramatic conversion event, or, you don't want all your hope to be on your story and sticking to it. Your story is one that is not yet over. It's a story that God continues to write. Because your story is one of His activity in your life. Have you considered how the death and resurrection of Jesus play a central and pivotal role in your life and the hope that you have? We hope this conversation will inspire you to think about your story, and then to go ahead and share it with other people. Enya Cid moved from Mexico to the U.S. as a three year old. She says this country is her home, but her right to stay here never feels certain. In 2022, Enya joined other first generation immigrants in a writing workshop hosted by the publisher Restless Books and Arlington, Virginia's Dream Project. Enya shares her story along with Nataly Montano, who immigrated to the U.S. from Bolivia. But I realized once I wrote this book, listen, you gonna have to talk about it. Her work has been exposed at the Victoria and Albert museum in London and at the Guggenheim in New York. Her latest movie, Memory Box, inspired by her own experience of being a teenager in Lebanon during the civil war, was the country's entry to the 2023 Oscars. Madonna Adib is a Syrian writer and director whose work revolves around LGBTQ+ rights, identity and migration. Her latest documentary, Let My Body Speak, explores the experiences her body stores: her childhood in Damascus, witnessing the Syrian revolution, and falling in love with a woman.
