In the midst of darkness and despair, God answered by sending His son, Jesus, bringing light and hope to a weary world. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus offers redemption and victory over sin to anyone who receives Him.
This Christmas message explores the profound truth that the birth of Christ is the ultimate expression of God's love. Through Mary's extraordinary encounter with God, Pastor Matt Petty reveals five transformative truths about divine love: • God's love knows us intimately - even a humble teenage girl in Nazareth • His power manifests in unexpected ways - turning ordinary moments into divine appointments • His mercy extends beyond generations - from Abraham to Mary to us today • He lifts up the humble heart - choosing those the world overlooks • He faithfully keeps every promise - proving that no word from God will ever fail Through Mary's courageous response, we learn that true faith isn't about our worthiness but about saying "yes" to God's love. This message challenges us to move beyond seasonal celebrations to experience the transformative power of divine love that changes everything.

In part 1, we saw that David wrote this Psalm in his prayer time after he woke up (v5) on the morning of the battle against his son Absalom's large army (2Samuel 18). The previous evening he had prayed through to an assurance of victory. This prayer is recorded in Psalm 4. As a result he could sleep sweetly knowing that God would keep him safe (4:8, 3:5). Whatever battles we face in life, the main battle is in prayer, to get into God's presence, and let him fill our hearts with His peace, faith, strength, light and wisdom, which casts out all fear and darkness. As a result, he was able to declare in the morning, as he looked at Absalom's great army: "I will NOT be AFRAID of ten thousands of people who have SET themselves against ME all around" (v6). Notice what is unusual about this battle, which fits 2Samuel 18, is that all these enemy forces were not interested in fighting David's army, for they were only interested in killing one man, David, so that Absalom could establish himself on the throne. David was not exaggerating the size of Absalom's army, for 20,000 of them died in the battle (2Samuel 18:7), so that the army was about 100,000 strong. With so many focused on destroying David, he had grounds for fear, but strengthened in God, he refused to fear. Then David utters the battle cry as they go forth into battle: "Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God!" (v7). This is an appeal to God to arise and go ahead of them to lead them in battle, protecting them and giving them the victory. This recalls the words of Moses in Numbers 10:35: "So it was, whenever the Ark set out, that Moses said: “Rise up, O Lord! Let Your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate You flee before You.” The next phrase in v7 is probably best seen as a prayer, as in the NIV: "Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked." See also Psalm 58:6: "Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; Lord, tear out the fangs of those lions!" This speaks of the total domination, defeat and humiliation of the enemy, so that this rebellion would be broken once and for all, rather than simmering on indefinitely. This is what was done to wild beasts, so that they would no longer be a danger. Their jaw and teeth represents their ability to devour and destroy, so to break them is to destroy the power of the enemy, who in their rebellion against the Lord's anointed, David, were acting like wild beasts. David was not praying for their death (he even did not want their leader Absalom to die), but for a decisive victory that would end this rebellion and reestablish David on his throne. David knew that only God could do this, for it was against all odds. If it was a declaration (as in the NKJV) rather than a prayer, then David was saying: "Lord, You've done it before, and I believe You will do it again! David then gives God all the glory for the victory: "Salvation (deliverance) belongs to the Lord" (v8a, Jonah 2:9), for the battle belongs to the Lord, and he concludes by declaring: "Your blessing is upon Your people (Israel)" (v8b). This shows that David was not just concerned for himself, but for Israel. This battle was not just over David's future, but the future of Israel. He knew that God's blessing (presence) is connected to His will, and that God had anointed David as king and made an everlasting covenant with him, that God would preserve his House and that his sons would reign after him, until finally his ultimate son, the Messiah, would reign forever on the Throne of David (2Samuel 7, 1Chronicles 17). David knew that for God's will and blessing to prevail for Israel, this rebellion must be defeated, and David reinstated as God's rightful king of Israel, and so victory in this battle was necessary for God's people to live in His blessing. (If Israel came under the wicked and godless Absalom, the nation would come under a curse). Thus, when David closed the Psalm by saying: "Your blessing is upon Your people", he was making a confident prophetic declaration that God's mercy, grace and blessing was upon Israel and would continue, which meant that God's will would prevail, through God giving David the victory, and establishing him as His chosen anointed king over Israel. This came to pass, because after the victory and Absalom's death, the survivors of the battle and the rest of the nation saw that God was with David, and so repented of their rebellion, and acknowledged David as their rightful king. Thus Israel came back under Divine order and blessing under David, their king.

Our study guide The United States and Great Britain in Bible Prophecy details an amazing understanding from the Bible and history about the modern English-speaking nations being inheritors of the physical promises made to Abraham and his descendants. What exactly does such a story have to do with the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God? More than you think!
Why didn't Jesus fulfill the prophecy of things the throne?

David The Prophet Part 5: The Throne of David - English only. Who will rule over the Nation of Israel in the Kingdom of God? Some passages in The Scriptures say that David himself will sit on the throne. But how can David be king if Messiah is king? Join us in this last episode of this series as we consider this captivating subject! Recorded July 15, 2022.
Psalm 122 Justin Jackson
At the heart of the debate between millennial positions is the timing and nature of Christ's seating on the throne of David. In today's episode, we make the case that the resurrection and ascension of Christ is the fulfillment of those prophecies.
In Luke 1:26-38 the angel Gabriel appears to Mary and explains to her what is about to happen with the birth of Christ. Christ will be born of Mary even though she is a virgin. This proves that Christ is the Son of the Most High and that as such he will inherit the throne of David.

It is the Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. We are also given the keys to the Kingdom. What you are seeing yourself bound to in your thoughts, you will be bound to in the physical. If you see yourself entwined, or bound with abundance, your physical world will mold and shape and bring you abundance. When you see yourself within as free from any physical limitation, again the physical world will mold, bend and shape to make that a reality for you. This is God's divine plan. We are told in Romans 8 that His Divine Plan is for all of us to obtain the glorious liberty of Sons of God. King David is not just an Old Testament story in history. All these stories are stories of good things that happen in the hearts and minds of men. As we shared last week, Isaiah 9 tells us there will be no end to the throne of David. We are not waiting for something in the future. The anointing of the Old Testament Kings, Prophets and Priests are all stories pointing to the anointing that all mankind possesses. These are all wonderful stories about you and I carrying the Arc of the Covenant on our shoulders right now. This is the mind of Christ, or the anointed mind. What we do between the two creative cherubs of our mind is the anointing of God, our thoughts release the creative power of God. This is not you trying to make it happen by “doing it right” or “praying right” or working up His presence and anointing. You are One with Him and can't lose the anointing or His presence if you tried. What you see within, what thoughts you dwell on and picture in your mind, IS the creative power of God. This is operating face to face with God in the Holiest of Holies, this is operating in His likeness. What you do within your mind is the throne of David. Begin to envision life as you desire it to be. Act it out in your mind as if it is happening right now. What you see within is more real than what you see in the physical. If you continue to envision your life how you desire it to be, even though “the facts of life” contradict it right now, you will be amazed that all of heaven and earth move, shape and bend to make it a physical reality in your life. Most of us have only been taught to operate within the limits of what we see with our physical senses. Operating in the likeness of God is quantum, it is spiritual, it is the anointed life. It bypasses all time, space and physical limitations. It is the most Holy way to live. It is living like God.
We are told in scripture that it is the Father's good pleasure to give us The Kingdom, which is His royal rule and reign. Think of the magnificence of this, the very reign of God has been given to all of us. We are the tabernacle that carries the shaping Spirit of God to free ourselves and others from any physical limitation. Science is catching up with what the ancient writers of scripture knew. Isaiah 9 tells us there will be no end to the throne of David. We are not waiting for something in the future. As the High Priests of God, we carry the Arc of the Covenant on our shoulders right now. We see the same idea in Jeremiah 33:20: “this is what the Lord says: If you can break my covenant with the day and the night so that one does not follow the other, only then will my covenant with my servant David be broken.” There is a covenant that is seen and unseen. First the physical covenant and then the spiritual covenant. We are also told a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. A thousand years in Hebrew is the largest number, or infinite number. So, the order of these covenants are eternal and infinite. They will always remain. Jacob Vigil continues on in our current series, "The Throne of David" - He charges the church with a call of fully giving ourselves to "The Secret Place." He reminds us that, the revival that is coming, actually will start with us drawing near to the Lord and abiding in Him. - "God wants to make a relational history with you, so that he can make world history through you" Follow along with us as a church, in this next season to, "Give our full YES, to the secret place, like we never have before!" Blessings!
This previous Sunday, we had the honor of listening and learning from one of our elders, Jim Traut. - Jim and his wife Cathy, are one of Saints Hill's spiritual Fathers and Mothers of the house. They have helped us tremendously in planting the church and giving direction. They carry such strong wisdom that we need, yet, a childlikeness and hunger for the presence of God! ---- Jim continued on in our current series, "The Throne of David." He showed us how in David's life there was a constant strength that came from pure and honest confession and repentance. Jim pushed us as a community towards freedom, and taught us that a truly holy, blameless, and blessed life is right on the other side of our confession! Be blessed by the abundant grace, forgiveness, and freedom that is only found is Jesus Christ!
Bria Woltor continues in our series "The Throne of David" - She walks us through the life of David, and specifically when he worships undignified and his wife despises his passion for the Lord. Bria pushes us as a church to worship with more passion than we ever have before! She reminds us how important is to be partner with the Spirit and celebrate others passion as well. As well as, warns us to never be the cynic when we see passion that we may not understand. Especially, knowing how passionate the Lord is towards us! Be blessed with fresh passion and joy as you listen to this message!
Thanks for joining us during a series called, "The Throne of David." - However, last week Pastor Alex Rettmann, started a mini-series, specifically on worship, and this is the second part! In this talk, we are reminded with the simple, yet powerful reality that "we become like what we worship." Therefore as believers, when we make Worship our priority and lifestyle, we start to see transformation come and our minds renewed! We starting looking at life and what it brings from "Heaven to Earth" and not the other way away. When we become renewed by the worship we give to Jesus, we then begin to see the world around us renewed! Worship is our responsibility to create atmospheres of heaven wherever our foot lands. Blessings!
Join us, as we continue in our current series, "The Throne of David" Alex Rettmann gives us a theology of worship and reminds us that our primary privilege as well as responsibility is to praise our God. In this talk, we cover what it means "to sing a new song." We are reminded that our worship is far more than just singing songs in a Sunday gathering, but that it is also warfare. When we praise our God he fights on our behalf. - God is ultimately looking for a group of worshipers that will use praise to push the plow, to make way for the Lord, for Him to plant his Kingdom seeds. We believe this will lead to a mighty move of the Spirit. We are called to leave a legacy of praise and worship to Jesus, for generations to come! Our prayer is that when listening to this message a new song of praise begins to arise in your heart, and that you are encouraged and fed by Jesus, himself.
Thanks for joining us as we continue in our current series "The Throne of David!" This previous Sunday we had the privilege to hear from one of Elders, Andoni Montaño - He so beautifully shared the contrast between how Saul and David both lived. He reminded us how Saul constantly lived in fear and David in faith and love. Andoni encouraged and charged us, as believers, to use David as an example. To use faith and our indentity as royalty to transform any wilderness in life into a Palace. - Saints Hill Church, let us leave fear behind fully and step into greater realms of Faith and always remember it is Perfect Love that casts out all fear!
This week we had the honor and privilege to listen and learn under our dear friend and fellow Saints Hill team member, Bria Woltor. We love her passion for truth and how she delivers it sharply but through humility she carries a gentleness. Listen with us, as Bria walks us through Psalm 84 and shows us what it means to truly enjoy the Lords Presence. In this talk, we are reminded in what daily communion is and the kind of peace and rest that is available to every believer! - Better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere! -- Saints Hill Church, this summer, let’s enjoy the presence of God by: Make it Home Invite Him Everywhere Be in relationship Remember Walk His Way
Join us as we continue with Part 2 of our current series, "The Throne of David" - Our pursuit in this season is to, more than ever, grow in our confidence in Gods character. Alex Rettmann walks us through Psalm 16 and shows us what it is like to find our full refuge in the Lord. In this message, we are reminded just how stable, consistent, and faithful our God really is! And, therefore we can trust Him with our full surrender and allegiance. To make him Lord over every aspect our lives!
Listen in as we kick off the first part of our new series "The Throne of David." Alex Rettmann walks us through Psalm 25 and reminds us that the intimate relationship David had with God is available to us now. Saints Hill Church, this is a time and season for us to rest. To press into intimacy in our friendship with God, and make history with him like David did. Therefore, our heart is to grow in our unwavering confidence in Gods character. -- “We are not called to believe in principles, thats not the Christian life. We are in pursuit of a King. We are called to believe and to know a person. Its relationship that God wants with His people. Thats why He loved Davids heart so much. Because David longed for intimacy and communion.” - Alex Rettmann

As noted in our first sermon on Psalm 89. This song of Ethan the Ezrahite is laid out according to three major themes: 1.) Praise for Yahweh (1-18). 2.) Recounting of covenant terms establishing the hope and identity of the people of God (19-37). 3.) A lament and appeal to the covenant promises given the sufferings and hardships plaguing the nation of Israel (38-52). Verse 19-37 establish, accordingly, the basis for Ethan's petition that God might answer the prayers of the few who remember His promises. The elements of formal covenant documentation are featured fittingly in our text today, illustrating the attention and value the author placed upon the word and promises of God. Scholars have noted covenant arrangements between greater and lesser kings of the ancient world invariably contained 5 basic parts: 1.) The Name (disclosure of glory) of the great king (note: 18, 26). 2.) Historical prologue (history of the relationship between the covenanted parties) (19-25). 3.) Stipulations or laws (the will of the greater king) (30-31). 4.) Sanctions (blessings and curses depending on fidelity to the covenant) (28-29, 32). 5.) Administration (Provisions for continuity of the agreement) (33-37). Ethan recognizes the basis for his future hope is established on the unchanging promises of God. How much more encouragement might we draw from his song realizing the Davidic covenant has been fulfilled beyond measure in Jesus Christ the King of Kings!
1 Kings 1,2 We might expect the 'Man After God's Own Heart' to Die a Death of Dignity and honor. (Think Elijah in a fiery Chariot). But Sadly, He Dies in Weakness and More Tragedy, Raising Big Questions about His Legacy and the Future of God's Plans. The Biggest Question to be answered is "Who Will Sit on the Throne of David?!"
Jesus Christ will soon return to sit on the throne of the Earth. Where is that throne right now? Its identity has recently changed, and this truth will change the universe.

When David was king in ancient Israel, the kingdom flourished. Enemies folded under his military leadership. And wealth soared. David recognized these great benefits and thanked God for them. But also he wondered why God had not yet directed the construction of a proper temple. The Ark of the Covenant, God's sacred dwelling, was still housed in a tent as it had been during Israel's nomadic years. Then the word of the Lord came to the prophet Nathan: "When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son." David's son Solomon would go on to build a temple of God in Jerusalem. But that temple would fall and rise and fall again.
