According to some US military commanders, God is totally on board with America attacking Iran. Complaints from troops are rolling into the Military Religious Freedom Foundation about some orders being served with a side of religion. Troops in three dozen military units spread across some 30 different military installations say they've been told this is all part of God's plan. Today's Headlines: The first 2026 primaries are done. In North Carolina, Democrat Roy Cooper and Republican Michael Whatley advanced to face off for retiring Sen. Thom Tillis' seat. In Arkansas, Sen. Tom Cotton cruised to renomination, while Democrat Hallie Shoffner won with 77%. Texas was a little more dramatic. After historic turnout, a Dallas judge extended voting hours over polling confusion. Attorney General Ken Paxton — who's on the ballot — asked the Texas Supreme Court to block it, and the court agreed. Paxton now heads to a GOP runoff with Sen. John Cornyn after neither hit 50%. Abroad, the Iran war intensified after drones struck the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh. President Donald Trump said Iran's air defenses were “knocked out” and promised “big-scale” strikes. Sen. Richard Blumenthal warned of possible “boots on the ground.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested U.S. strikes were preemptive ahead of Israeli action — then tried to walk that back. Israel also hit a meeting of Iran's Council of Experts during its Supreme Leader selection. Stateside, reports say some commanders framed the war to troops as “God's divine plan.” FBI Director Kash Patel fired counterintelligence officials who had worked Trump-related cases, including Iran matters, and now faces whistleblower claims over handling of an ICE shooting investigation. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem endured a bruising hearing, with Sen. Tillis suggesting she resign. How the Holy Spirit Brings Transformation in Your Life 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. The Holy Spirit can take you somewhere you will go to in the future but take you there now. He did to Peter, James and John. The Holy Spirit took them somewhere else in the realm of glory. They saw Jesus' transform. They heard the voice of God affirm Jesus. They witnessed it. They were given access to a realm most never go to. Matthew 17:1-8 The transfiguration. Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James & John. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. The word transfigured and transformed here is the same word! It means changed! Every time you are reading your Word you are renewing of mind. Every time you are worshiping Him you are being changed! Have you ever considered the divine plan for your emotions? We might think God's plan would be for us to get rid of our emotions or ignore them, but the wisdom of the Christian tradition says otherwise. So, too, does the Son of God, who took on our human emotions when he took on our flesh. The key to the divine plan for our emotions lies in integration and alignment, working to direct all parts of ourselves toward the good God intends for us. But how do we do that? My guest today has spent a considerable amount of time thinking such things, practicing such things, even teaching and preaching on such things. He is Abbot Austin Murphy, a Benedictine monk of St. Procopius Abbey in Lisle, Illinois, who holds a Ph.D. in theology from Notre Dame. His new book, Emotional Holiness: Discovering the Divine Plan for Your Human Emotions, offers guidance on how to reckon with and direct our emotions, into concord rather than discord with our mind and our will. On a previous show we considered how blacks and Muslims have been transformed into weapons of war against civilized society. But what does this mean? How can one contend with the Black history of strong families, spiritual-religious practices, and education, and the Muslim history that includes the centuries of an Islamic Golden Age? The drums of war against Islam has resulted in states like Texas taking actions to ban “Sharia Law,” something that is never defined. At its foundation, this religious law is one of ethics, prayer, fasting, and giving, something akin to Divine Plan of Christians, the way in which one should live in the image of God. But no matter what one thinks of Sharia, which certainly has been distorted for control, the idea that it can be outlawed in the U.S. is dangerous, particularly because others are calling for the complete banning of Islam as a religion. Notice the similarities to the relentless persecution Christians have faced in media and entertainment, and now federally as the IHRA is being used to criminalize the Bible. How long before Christianity and its tenants can be banned by the same precedent set over Islam? Furthermore, do these two religions not share the same eschatology and do both not reject the “wokism” of modern progressive politics?
