Travis Nelson is headlining Jokers Comedy Club in Richland, Washington, this Friday and Saturday, February 2-3. As I sat down with the towering Cerebral Comedian himself, Travis Nelson, we couldn't help but trade stories that ranged from the heartwarming to the downright hilarious. The high seas of cruise line comedy, the ebb and flow of personal well-being amidst the grind of professional hustle—our conversation had it all. We unpacked the resilience it takes to navigate life's funks and the robust lifeline that a comedy community can be. Travis regaled us with snippets from his visits to fellow comedian Tyler Boeh's family, and we drew the curtain back on how cruise ship entertainment is sailing into a new era, post-pandemic.With a comedic style that skips the shock and goes straight for the intellect, we reflect on the adaptation required to captivate audiences across cities like Nashville and Denver. And with social media changing the game, we discussed staying relevant and relatable in the digital age.To cap off, we peeked behind the curtain of comedy venues, from the legendary Comedy Store to the intimate buzz of a dispensary-sponsored gig. Oh, and we had a good laugh about the varying potency of weed from state to state—because what's comedy without a bit of controversy? Wrangling hecklers, piecing together a killer set, and orchestrating tours that leave the crowd in stitches—it's all in a day's work for a stand-up comic. So, whether you're a comedy connoisseur or just looking for a good chuckle, this episode is your ticket to the insider's world of laughs.Instagram: @travisisjokinghttps://www.instagram.com/travisisjoking?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==Linktr.ee https://linktr.ee/travisnelsoncomedy?fbclid=PAAabSzdfrX4Rewk03ANLHdT_O-MwX2mhIem7YUGEa2hJfc_4iPGNil10m8BY_aem_AZZ5Abw9i4I-mH_mvSYUzfTcawKGIayD8DLlLPMt3tB45UdUWU3gtm4diBDKW646oosShoutout to:Travis Nelson Jokers Comedy Club Tyler BoehLynette Manning Max from Jokers Alter Ego Ambassador: https://alteregorunning.com/Miles & Mountains Promo Code: MMyr2

This was a very special show for me. I was joined by my brother, Travis Nelson, who many know from his internet exploits as Travis and Sigrid riding his bike around London with his cat Sigrid. Travis and I started hanging out back in high school over 30 years ago and both eventually went down crazy different paths in life but still to this day manage to reconnect throughout time like a double helix. This show was all about reminiscing, learning about his cycling adventures and even discussing some of the current laws in the UK. Every step of the way was filled with laughs, crazy memories and ponderings of current world issues.

Is there anything more beautiful than two boy besties who would go to the ends of the earth for each other and maybe also share lil goodnight smoochies? In Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010), the two titular BFFs are pretty much the pinnacle of non-toxic masculinity — even when one of them does a little mild gaslighting to the other. For the most part, though, they're for real ride or die, and they gas each other up and root each other on when a series of miscommunications has them facing off against a group of college kids. We interview Travis who is the head of product at Quadrata, a web3 identity solutions protocol bringing digital passports to the blockchain applications ecosystem. We've always known on-chain identity was a missing component to realizing the true potential behind DeFi and other blockchain innovations, we finally found a project who is working on delivering exactly that. Quadrata enables dApps to leverage digital passports as on-chain identity verification tools to determine relevant information about its users. What will this do to the progress of DeFi and the metaverse? Also, we get into an A.I. philosophical discussion. Topics: First up, we ask Travis what is Quadrata and why its important to Decentralized Identity. Next, are we worthy enough of a crypto loan, or is it exclusive? Then, How Decentralized Identity Will Enable the $Trillion Metaverse? Finally, Travis talks about how Quadrata has partnered with major crypto pioneers. Summer is here!!! While we didn't have much of a spring in the BLA - which is something I think most folks are ok with - we are a full-go right into summer. The weather has been great, the boats are getting back on the lake, we're seeing many more smiling faces around the community, and most importantly the towns are starting to fill up! It's been so great seeing people shopping, biking on the trails and just enjoying the outdoors. Saying that... we felt it was the perfect time to have our Summer Rentals episode! From boats and jet skis to yard games to golf carts and UTVs, and all the way to house rentals, the Lakes Area rental companies really do offer it all! To represent the BLA rental scene, we had out ol' pal Travis Nelson from Lakes Area Recreational Rentals on the show to talk about what he has to offer with his Golf Carts, as well as some of the other rental companies he partners with. Speaking of his Golf Carts tho, these aren't normal Golf Carts. They are DECKED OUT! Not only will you be ballin' in an electric green color cart, it is also loaded with features like a digital screen, reverse cam, bluetooth sound system and 14" inch wheels! On the episode he speaks on all of that, and so much more in regards to why he felt it was a good time to jump into the golf cart rental game. Annnnd, as we mentioned above, the guys have known Trav for a long time so of course they had to reminisce on some old times (including some extremely entertaining stories). To say this episode had a lot of throwing Jacob under the bus would be an understatement. While he was already a little salty heading into this episode, he (nor Trav, Colton or Isaiah) held anything back. There were some bleeps in this one lol. In all honesty though, it was awesome finally getting Travis on the show. This has been talked about for over a year, and we all felt now was the perfect time. Also, as mentioned in this podcast, while Trav was the in-studio guest, there are so many local rentals in the area for pretty much any summer activity you can imagine. Today we launch episode 1 season 2 of the Amplify Nursing Podcast. Growing up in rural Louisiana, Travis Nelson didn't consider himself a trailblazer. His drive to help people, along with some encouragement from his mom, lead him to be the first African American man to graduate from his community college nursing program. Once a nurse, he soon found himself gravitating toward union leadership working on behalf of his fellow nurses. We talk to Travis about his passion for advocacy, his work as an elected delegate for the DNC in Oregon, and the political weight that nurses carry.

Travis Nelson has followed his dream of building a trucking company based on Xtreme customer service and employee respect. From being a 22 year old owner/operator with one truck, Travis has built one of the fastest growing trucking companies in the area. When Travis isn’t managing the company (or still sometimes driving truck) he spends time at home with his equally fast-growing family. Anyone can back up to a dock and pick up the product. Delivering it on time, without damage every time -- that's a service we offer.” - Travis Nelson What you’ll learn about in this episode: The philosophy that enabled Travis Nelson to grow a business of one truck and one trailer into a fleet of 75 flatbed and refrigerated trucks How a belief in second chances has led Travis to develop an employee-friendly atmosphere, which has led to superior employee retention Why Travis believes so strongly in making employees feel as though they belong; everyone in Travis' business is a part of the family How open lines of feedback and taking employee suggestions have ultimately led to better solutions throughout the organization Why Travis believes strongly that the knowledge that employees have is a valuable part of optimizing company operations How Travis was able to grow his company even in the face of new competition, which could potentially offer better cash bonuses and benefits How involving drivers upfront, and looking for advice rather than just feedback, ultimately led to happier drivers
