Samantha from Ohio shared her struggle with a deeply personal family issue: her brother, who now claims to be a "trans woman," and the challenge of lovingly but firmly setting boundaries for the sake of her young daughters' innocence. Patrick's advice? Classic Madrid: truthful, compassionate, and anchored in Catholic teaching. Here's the recap: The Situation: Samantha, a busy mom of two girls under two, loves her brother but doesn't agree with him. Her big question: How do I protect my kids' innocence while staying compassionate toward my brother? She doesn’t want to expose her daughters to confusion (or have to explain why "Uncle is dressed like Auntie") but is struggling with how to tell her brother he’s not invited to family gatherings like her daughter’s first birthday. Patrick’s Wisdom: Protect Your Kids First: He says that Samantha's instincts are 100% right. As a parent, her first responsibility is to protect her daughters. Patrick reminded her that she’ll have to answer to God someday for how she raised them and shielding them from confusion is an act of love. Truth Over Delusion: Patrick stressed the importance of calling things what they are. A man claiming to be a woman is still a man. Period. (Matthew 19:4: "In the beginning, God made them male and female.") Society may push false terms like "trans woman," but using them only feeds the delusion. Patrick adds that it's like telling an anorexic person they're fat when they’re dangerously thin: it doesn’t help them. Truth, even when it's hard, is the most loving approach. Love + Boundaries: You can be loving without compromising on truth. Whether through a thoughtful letter or a face-to-face conversation, Samantha should show truth with charity. Example: “I love you, but I won’t expose my daughters to ideas that contradict reality. I hope you understand.” If he reacts badly? That’s on him, not her. Seeds of truth often take time to grow. Books to Help: Patrick suggested two excellent reads for understanding this cultural madness: When Harry Became Sally by Ryan T. Anderson

Info Regarding the National Z-Call on February 24Sex Change Transitioning for MinorsTransgender ideology is not just infecting our laws, but intruding into the lives of the most innocent among us—children—with the apparent growing support of the professional medical and education communities."All of us should demand a halt to the medical transition of minors until rigorous non-agenda-driven, long-term research is completed." Dr. Michelle Cretella, executive director of the American College of PediatriciansSex change transitioning for minors is the new popular “thing,” now promoted in schools beginning in Kindergarten, promoting risky medical procedures for minors often without parental involvement. The Federal Drug Administration has not approved pediatric hormone blocking, a relatively new practice, first introduced in the United States in 2007. Even though giving cross-sex hormones, like estrogen to a boy is also not FDA-approved, these so-called hormone treatments are now offered in Planned Parenthood clinics.Celebrations of grade school student transitioning, like the third grader in West Linn, Oregon are becoming common. If the parent chooses, soon this 8-year old boy will be given hormone blockers to avoid going through natural puberty to become a man. The treatment is irreversible. In his book, When Harry Became Sally, Ryan Anderson shares the results of a study examining the risk of suicide among transgender teens, confirming they attempt suicide more frequently than adolescents, generally. The study assumes the unproven belief that all gender identities are equally healthy and fixed in all children and teens. This is an ideological premise touted by professional medical and psychiatric guilds, not scientific fact. Evidence suggests that sex reassignment surgery does not improve rates of attempted suicide. The study also offers no proof that these radical therapies…will prevent adolescents from attempting suicide. The result of this will be scores more children needlessly sterilized, placed on toxic cross-sex hormones, and maimed by mutilating surgeries as early as age 13,—none of which have been proven to prevent suicide in the long term. There is no medical path to achieve REAL gender change. It is scientific fact individuals are born with permanent DNA in every cell of their body, either male or female. Biological-birth sex, even with surgical alteration of body parts, and opposite-gender hormone treatment, is unchangeable. There is another possible explanation for the high suicide rates that has received little attention. As Ray Blanchard and J. Michael Bailey, two LGBT affirming psychologists, have pointed out, it is quite possible that underlying traumas, mental health, and personality issues combine to cause both gender dysphoria and suicidality in vulnerable youth. There is reason to suspSupport the show (https://www.parentsrightsined.com/support-the-cause.html)

Patron Question: My husband and I are Natural Family Planning teachers with the Billings method. We believe that using NFP has brought us closer to God. We know Theology of the Body is the foundation for our closeness. Do you have any thoughts about how we can begin to share this amazing gift with our young children, ages 5, 4, and 2? Question 2: Hi! My question is in regards to gender dysphoria, specifically how to address and discuss Catholic teachings and gender change to children and to other non-Catholic friends. I very recently made the decision to take my children out of public school. There were numerous issues including the introduction of condom use and where to get them to my 11 year old but my question is in regards to my 10 year old daughter. Her friend has come out to the classroom as changing genders. They watched videos on the subject and essentially were told everyone has the freedom to choose their sex and gender doesn't equal biology essentially. I have read your book of Theology of the Body for Beginners and it was amazing, but can you give me some "go to" compassionate conversation to spread to my children as well as non-Catholic friends who are asking about my decision to homeschool and the lgbtq movement? Qestion 3: Hello Christopher and Wendy! I was introduced to TOB through Dr. Juli Slattery's ministry, Authentic Intimacy. I have just finished reading Our Bodies Tell God's Story and I have been profoundly impacted and moved by TOB. I would say Our Bodies Tell God's Story is one of my favourite books ever! I have also been learning a lot from your podcast. Thank you for modeling a loving marriage together in your podcast! As a married woman I have questions about what sexual behaviors are honoring in the bedroom. Can you direct me to where I can have questions about this answered? I’m also wondering in what order I should read your books and resources? What are the next steps in educating myself about TOB. Today’s special guest dared to ask questions and present statements from healthcare experts and transgender patients three years ago in his book When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment. Now, he’s been blacklisted and cancelled by big tech. Ryan T. Anderson worked for many years at the Heritage Foundation and helped found Public Discourse, a journal of the Witherspoon Institute. He’s recently become the president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C., a conservative think tank "dedicated to applying the Judeo-Christian moral tradition to critical issues of public policy." A few weeks back, Ryan made headlines after When Harry Became Sally was banned from Amazon. The online behemoth’s decision has raised many questions about trans-ideology and its impact on society—questions about censorship, big tech, business monopoly, and the lack of accountability of powerful institutions. Carl, Todd, and Ryan sit down to discuss the long-term implications of this kind of censorship, and what could lie ahead. Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Michael Knowles, Abigail Shrier, and Nancy Rommelmann about the push for banning books that aren’t up to current 21st century woke standards. Classic books by Dr. Seuss like "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" will no longer be published. It isn’t just classic literature with outdated representations entering the list of banned books. Books on controversial topics like Ryan Anderson’s "When Harry Became Sally" are being deleted from Amazon’s marketplace. One that still sells Hitler’s "Mein Kampf." As we enter a real-life version of "Fahrenheit 451," how can we try to reverse the course of modern-day book burning and the push for more censorship? Learn more about your ad choices. This September 19-25, the displays in public libraries for the American Library Association's annual Banned Books Week are going to be overflowing with banned books. In addition to Ryan T. Anderson's book When Harry Became Sally, and Abigail Schrier's book, Irreversible Damage, there will be not one, not two, not three, but SIX Dr. Seuss books. Historically the American Library Association has deemed a book “banned” if a few parents asked for it to be removed from the children's section to another section of the library. That “banning” threw them into a tizzy after which they fell onto their fainting couches. Just imagine how they must feel now that book-burners managed to get the publisher of Dr. Seuss's books to stop publishing SIX of them. Get those guy, gal, and sexually ambiguous librarians some smelling salts STAT. What, you may be wondering, did Dr. Seuss write or draw that led to today's book-burners—also known in Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451 as Firemen (Gotta burn that book next year. “Firemen” definitely hurts somebody's feelings). "We have our highest court completely unhinged from reality," said C.C. Pecknold, Ph.D., a professor at The Catholic University of America, referring to the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Bostock vs. Clayton County. "Bostock unhinges just the very nature of the person as sexually differentiated. It's a kind of sad, in a way not surprising, conclusion to a long series of decisions." Also interviewed on this episode of Respect Life Radio is Ryan T. Anderson, Ph.D., a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation and author of books including, "When Harry Became Sally" and "Truth Overruled." Anderson refers to the Supreme Court imposing "a misguided sexual and gender ideology on the country" and that, "Unfortunately, the Supreme Court can do a lot of damage when judges just impose their personal belief, their personal policy preferences, their views — on contested questions on the American people." If we are to understand the so called “Gender” teaching in our K-12 public schools, we have to unpack the origin, and the motivation of it's proponents.I have several excellent resources in my library including When Harry Became Sally, by Ryan Anderson, Get Out Now, by Mary Hasson and Theresa Farnan, and The Cracks in the Edifice of Transgender Totalitarianism, by Jane Robbins. https://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2019/07/54272/Robbins, an attorney and writer in Georgia is a graduate of Clemson University and Harvard Law School. She highlights some key elements in what has become far more than a passing fad. It is not just a different way of thinking. People are falling for the lie. These are other people's minor children, like Adrianne Bonsey's daughter whose story I shared in the last episode.Robbins says, “Transgenderism has shaken the foundations of all we know to be true. Scientific knowledge is rejected and medical practice co-opted in service of a ‘new reality' - that gender is independent of biological sex.” #RightsParents #ParentsRightsInEducation #ParentsRightsNOW!Support the show (https://www.parentsrightsined.com/support-the-cause.html)
The ink was hardly dry on the Obergefell decision in 2015 when radical homosexual activists started promoting their next radical ideology: transgender rights. How and why did this revolution come about, and how do we respond to it? I'll talk it over with Ryan Anderson, senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation and author of the book, "When Harry Became Sally." PLUS: We are a culture drenched in celebrity worship, but it is often the ordinary person that God has chosen to do His most important work. We'll talk about it with Chad Bird, assistant professor of Hebrew and exegetical theology at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and author of the book, "Your God is Too Glorious." That's on Thursday's JANET MEFFERD TODAY.
On this week's relatively short episode we're talking about the metaphysical relationship between our bodies and our souls. Well, that was the original idea, but as usual we went off the rails a few times. Before our main topic though, you'll get our weekly banter which includes some thoughts on having a southern drawl, a "compromised immune system", letting our kids watch TV all day, and the Umbrella Academy on Netflix. The book that spurred this week's topic is: When Harry Became Sally by Ryan T. It is revealed that the idelogy of Ryan Anderson and Paul McHugh is heterogenderism. Real science regarding some of the topics of Anderson's book When Harry Became Sally are presented. Heterogenderism seeks to debase transgender people by saying that they are abnormal or mentally ill. Anderson and McHugh seek to equate sex and gender which denies the existence of transgender people. The combination of heterogenderism and populism results in public policy that discriminates against transgender people and gaslights them by constantly referring to them as inferior.
Ryan Anderson shares from his book When Harry Became Sally, which discusses responding to the Transgender moment we now find ourselves in.

Carl and Aimee have the privilege of talking to Ryan Anderson today. His most recent book is entitled When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment. And it's provoked, dare we say, strong reactions in the media in just the a few weeks since its publication. But what's the stir all about? Well, we're about to find out!Today, Dr. Anderson talks about the relationship between gender dysphoria and the overemphasizing of sex stereotypes. He addresses male and female bodily differences and how those differences affect the way we relate in marriage and friendships. What are the factors that determine one's gender? Physical reality versus emotional feelings of dissatisfaction with one's body, and if a person can overcome those feelings. The questions are many, but Dr. Anderson walks us through and leaves a picture of how a healthy culture is able to recognize the equal dignity of the sexes. And at the same time, its complementary differences. Lots of ground to cover!Grab a snack and join us in this pleasant and very important conversation. And, of course, we're giving away copies of Dr. Ryan Anderson's book When Harry Became Sally which are a gift from our friends at Encounter Books.
