All parents want what is best for their child and that includes growing up strong, healthy, and enjoying a wide variety of foods. However, children may go through a period of “picky eating” which can start at any age, but it is most common in toddlers. The introduction of new tastes, textures, smells and temperatures can be frightening to a child. It's important to provide parents with strategies and reassurance that picky eating is part of normal development. It's also important for health professionals to assess if picky eating is influencing weight changes, nutrient deficiencies or ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) which is an extreme form of picky eating that impacts normal development. Tune in to this episode with guest Dr. Elizabeth Zmuda to learn about: the definition of picky eating how eating is learning, exploring and building skills responsive feeding and feeding with the 5 senses how parents bring their own stories and histories to the dinner table just because a child spits out a food doesn't necessarily mean they don't like it how these same strategies help to prevent obesity and eating disorders the difference between picky eating and ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) how to introduce new foods and include nutrient rich foods how nutrient rich dairy foods can be helpful as a familiar food for picky eaters if sneaking in nutrition by hiding vegetables in other foods is effective if plant-based milk alternatives are an acceptable substitute for cow's milk new recommendations for birth – 23 months including yogurt and cheese as options for infants starting as early as 6 months of age Strategies for parents and health professionals to address picky eating behaviors and develop healthy eating patterns in toddlers resources for parents and health professionals on child nutrition, picky eating, responsive feeding, dietary guidelines, recipes, tips and more This episode is sponsored by American Dairy Association Mideast and American Dairy Association Indiana. Dr. Zmuda is an ambassador for the National Dairy Council. This episode has been submitted to CDR for continuing education credits for RDNs, DTRs & CDCESs. If you have a plan, with that in mind, if everything you do from your research to your plan to your conversations, everything you do with your customers has the goal of helping your customers be successful, you will do well and your customers will be successful and your business will be successful. The action is keep that in mind as you do your research, your homework, your meetings and you go about your business." CHRISTINE'S TIP FOR EMERGING SALES LEADERS: "I'd like to encourage leaders to follow a model, coach and care framework. Model the behavior, employees are looking at you for a pulse check to also see if they have license to actually try things. It's okay to fail, do they have a license to be their authentic selves at work? How can you demonstrate that? Are you setting up a plan where employees can move as quickly as they need to move? Empower them, that's the model piece. Coaching is obviously bring your resources, showing them how things have been done but also being open-minded because there's a lot of great opportunities to learn from anyone in the organization regardless of level. Then that caring piece, we've touched on that quite a few points throughout today's discussion on being empathetic and understanding the individual. What's their motivation? What are their learning opportunities and how can you support them?"

Subscribe to Selling With Social Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Google Play | Google Podcasts   Predictive Intelligence is changing the way marketing and sales professionals get results. In short - it allows us to give individual prospects or customers experiences that are unique to them and fit where they are in the sales process. It does so by utilizing data from all web-based channels: email, mobile, social, and even a call center. Best of all, predictive intelligence is proven to drive key business results. To speak with me about this issue I invited my friend Christine Zmuda to be my guest on this episode of #SellingWithSocial. Christine is Senior Director for Emerging Solutions at Microsoft - and in particular, she’s overseeing the Microsoft / LinkedIn relationship now that Microsoft has purchased the platform. That’s one of the first key areas Microsoft is putting predictive intelligence to work, and you’ll hear about it on this episode. Christine has held several leadership and individual contributor positions at Microsoft, Yammer, and Mobil Oil. As a senior member of the Emerging Solutions team, Christine is responsible for landing Microsoft Relationship Sales worldwide. She is a graduate of Michigan State University (B.A. degree) and American University (M.B.A.) and is a member of Women in Technology. She also serves on the board of the Ted Rullo Foundation, a not for profit designed to further education opportunities for student athletes.   Join Vengreso at STAR, February 11-13, 2019 to mix and mingle with forward thinking sales executives and thought leaders. We need to think in a broader sense than just social media engagement with prospects. In this conversation, Christine and I discuss why sales teams need to shift their perspective beyond social media interactions and even beyond initial conversations. There is more that can be done, in exponentially more effective ways using the entire digital spectrum of tools. The predictive intelligence Christine’s team is using to create powerful LinkedIn/CRM integrations is one example of how it’s happening. Be sure to listen so you stay on top of the trends and learn how to use these technological advances to build a better sales machine.   Predictive Intelligence Helps Sales Pros And Organizations Connect With Buyers   Messages that resonate with where we are in life are the ones we notice and take action on - because they mean something to us on a personal level. As marketing and sales professionals we need to think of our buyers in that way - they are unique human beings with unique personal and professional challenges. What can we do to speak to them where they are and in light of their particular challenges? The better we can answer that question, the more effective we’ll be at initiating engagements that lead to sales. Predictive intelligence takes the guesswork out of the equation. It enables us to pull together the actions taken by our ideal buyers, analyze those actions as data points rather than subjective hunches, and predict the most effective ways to engage with them. Surveys of companies using the technology show an impact across the board: Website revenue increases of 10% Email click-through improvements of 35% Email conversion rates increased by 25% Learn about the power of predictive intelligence and how it can help you reach your sales targets, on this episode of Selling With Social.     Sales Leaders Can Now Understand HOW The Customer Journey Is Happening   The reason predictive intelligence is having such an impact on sales is simple: Until now, sales cycle evaluation had to be done subjectively. It looked something like this - Sales leaders would pull together their teams and ask how various deals in the pipeline were going. The responses they received were based on the salesperson’s impressions about the deal. It was the best approach we had. But no more. Now we can rely on real data instead of sales team opinions and inferences, and the difference it makes is staggering. Listen to this episode to learn how this new technology is making relationship building easier, the customer journey of individual buyers more transparent, and the sales process more intentional and effective. New Technologies Turn Relationships Into Revenue   The responsibility for driving leads into the sales funnel is no longer the job of marketing - it’s the job of everyone in the company. With the widespread use of social and other digital tools, everyone from the CEO to the custodians have the ability to project a positive and appealing brand image to those they connect with digitally. Those connections can matter for the bottom line success of the company. What would happen if companies set quotas for every team member - no matter their role in the company - to generate at least one sales lead per calendar year? Listen to this episode to hear how new technologies like predictive analytics are turning relationships into revenue, helping government leaders and influencers make a larger contribution, and enabling hiring teams locate, court, and hire the best candidates for their teams.   Join Vengreso at STAR, February 11-13, 2019 to mix and mingle with forward thinking sales executives and thought leaders. Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast

Writer, comedian and producer Bob Zmuda has had a busy career, performing, writing and producing comedy specials, co-creating the charity Comic Relief and collaborating with the late (??) great comedian/performance artist Andy Kaufman. Gilbert and Frank rang up Bob at his house in Lake Tahoe to talk about (among other things) his early days as half of the comedy duo Albrecht & Zmuda, his role in bringing the Kaufman biopic "Man on the Moon" to the screen, his controversial new book about Andy's life, and his theory of how his old friend and collaborator pulled off the greatest hoax in comedy history. Also, Eddie Murphy takes a phone call, Tony Clifton (or was it Jim Carrey?) invades the Playboy mansion and Garth Brooks (almost) portrays Bob on the big screen. PLUS: The ventriloquist team of Dick & Stinky! Andy gets a woody! Larry the Lobster gets a reprieve! Gilbert gets the axe at SNL! And a surprise guest crashes the podcast! Starting off part two of Comical Radio Classic was Bobby Slayton, who unexpectedly showed up, guns blazing, ready to insult everybody. Business as usual for the least adorable 'pit bull' there ever was. If you don't understand the reference, just Bing it! Just kidding. Who uses that, anyway??? Following Bobby's tirade was a calm, cool, and collected call-in from Bob Zmuda, Andy Kaufman's co-conspirator and creator of Comic Relief. Zmuda "Revealed!" (another reference, sorry, I'll stop) that he wanted Nicolas Cage to play his best friend in "Man on the Moon." Mr. Ghost Rider himself! Jim Carrey snatched the role, however, after a genius audition tape. Zmuda also talked with the crew about Mr. X, a screenwriter mentioned in the Kaufman book who would make people do crazy things for money. The revelation was slightly underwhelming, considering that it was actually divulged 11 years ago. Man, where have we been? On the moon? The multitalented Dante Nero stopped by, and the gang chatted with him about his numerous pastimes and occupations. They include: Being a comedian, male stripping, riding a unicycle, doing mixed martial arts, fencing, splitting cables, and on and on and on. Chris mentioned to Dante "Jack of All Trades" Nero that he had snake eye tattoos "down there." Would that increase Chris' chances of becoming a male stripper himself? No, and that probably means that Chris won't get work because he's wearing a scarf either. If you made it this far, good for you! Milk and cookies for everyone! (Google that reference, too.)
