Is there anything better than movies and television??....Obviously yes, there is...but this podcast isn't about those things! It's about MOVIES AND TELEVISION, and we think that's pretty cool! Join my brother and I each week as we dive into all the crazy news, trailers, upcoming releases, and review…
The Hollywood Week podcast is an absolute delight for any fan of television, movies, and pop culture. The hosts, Kasen and Keenan, have an undeniable synergy that makes listening to their discussions a joy. Their genuine love and enthusiasm for the latest in TV and cinema shines through in every episode. This podcast has quickly become my favorite to listen to as it is not only "full of heart," but also offers great action-packed content. Plus, I still can't get over the fact that Luke Skywalker was basically John Wick in The Last Jedi!
One of the best aspects of The Hollywood Week podcast is the dynamic between Kasen and Keenan. Their chemistry is infectious, making it incredibly enjoyable to listen to their banter and insights. They have a knack for finding the joy and appreciation in everything they watch, which is refreshing in a world where criticism often takes center stage. Their positivity creates an inviting atmosphere for listeners, encouraging them to embrace new shows and films with open minds.
While there are many positives about this podcast, one area that could use some improvement is Keenan's movie recommendations. While he clearly has a passion for film, he sometimes struggles to express his recommendation effectively or provide enough details about the movies he suggests. It would be beneficial if he found a more concise way to convey his thoughts on these films so listeners can get a better understanding of why they should check them out.
In conclusion, The Hollywood Week podcast stands out as one of the best movie/entertainment/pop culture podcasts available today. Kasen and Keenan's infectious enthusiasm will have you itching to grab your popcorn and dive into the latest releases. Despite some minor flaws in movie recommendations, this podcast provides an enjoyable listening experience that leaves you eagerly awaiting each new episode. Whether you're a diehard cinephile or just looking for light-hearted entertainment discussions, give The Hollywood Week podcast a listen - you won't be disappointed!
Ladies & Gentlemen, it's a group of broken down losers teaming up to defeat corrupt bureaucracy...no, we're not talking about MSNBC...we're talking about the latest and greatest from the MCU..."Thunderbolts*"!Why is there an asterisk in the title?? Why did they bring back Ghost from "Ant-Man and the Wasp"?? Why is Florence Pugh the most charismatic and pitch perfect talent the MCU has ever put in front of us??Many people are saying that Marvel is back...there's only one way to find out...let's enter the void and see what we find.
Ladies & Gentlemen, the last time we delivered an episode of the Hollywood Week podcast, I was a young and vibrant, energetic 38 year old boy...but now I write this as a seasoned and grizzled 39 year old man. It has been a long time, but the promise of the summer movie season has brought us out of retirement to talk about our hopes and dreams for what lies ahead...Florence Pugh thunderbolting, Tom Cruise going on one last mission, and James Gunn trying to make Superman relevant...so much to discuss!Let's lock in, shake off the cobwebs, and see if we still have what it takes to deliver the goods
Ladies & Gentlemen, if you are in the mood for crude and vulgar insults, bloody assassination attempts, and maniacal cackling that can only be brought on by strong (strong) prescription meds...then good news...it's ELECTION SEASON!...But if you're looking for a healthy and light hearted distraction, then Marvel is COOKING with their latest offering, "Deadpool & Wolverine"! The movie is a box office juggernaut and a cultural phenomenon, but more importantly it's a much needed WIN for the struggling MCU. We obviously enjoyed the movie...but how much?? LET'S DISCUSSBUT WAIT...there's more! We also got some very eventful and very uneventful news coming out of Comic Con and D23...Robert Downey Jr. is back????? Harrison Ford is a red Hulk??? "Thunderbolts" is a....movie...that is coming out?? Let's break it down like that Australian lady at the Olympics
Ladies & Gentlemen, the summer movie season has officially kicked off and the box office is looking more dire than my Chipotle decimated beach body. We are definitely discussing the troubles that movie theaters are facing, but more importantly we're diving into the month of May and talking about fall guys, apes, lasagna loving felines, and post-apocolyptic hellscapes (not Oakland). We're also pulling out a couple GEMS from the month of April since it's been so long since our last warm embrace. Fire up the grill and put on the classic 2000 N'Sync album "No Strings Attached", because it's gonna be...MAY...recap...
Ladies & Gentlemen...DUNE: PART 2THE REVIEWthat is all"POWER OVER SPICE IS POWER OVER ALL"
Ladies & Gentlemen, many of you doubted this day would come…many of you doubted that we had the sheer WILL POWER and DETERMINATION to record this ~3 hour~year end~spectacular…but many of you were wrong This is it! Despite the delay, it's time to reflect on 2023 and not only count down our TOP TEN FILMS of the year, but also hand out the often imitated but never duplicated HOLLYWOOD WEEK AWARDS!Along with falling off of my roof while hanging Christmas lights and saying politically incorrect things at Thanksgiving, this is my favorite annual tradition.CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES! "Alright stop...ANTICIPATE AND LISTEN"--Vanilla Ice, 1990That's right ladies and gentlemen, it's time for everyone's favorite annual tradition! Let's bury the past and look to the future as we discuss some of the biggest movies of 2024. Does Marvel have anything left for us to get hyped on? Does "Dune Pt. 2" win by default? Is Kasen going to try and bring up some goofy nerd sh*t?!ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN
The Roman Empire...The McDonald's .99 Double Cheeseburger...my ability to adequately host a podcast...all great things will come to an end, and this includes the once untouchable "Marvel Cinematic Universe".It was the best of times, and it's currently the worst of times for Kevin Feige and the MCU. Disney + content is diluting the brand with mediocre series, the movies have been wildly inconsistent and convoluted, and "The Marvels" just made slightly less money than my elementary school's D.A.R.E. fundraiser in 1994, and it was also terrible and immediately forgotten. Dark times, but it's always darkest before the dawn...right?? Right everyone? Please God tell me dawn is coming! We are gathered here for this very special episode to discuss "The Marvels", discuss how to save the MCU, and discuss the future projects and what they need to accomplish to steer this sinking ship back to respectability. Just like my father said to me when I turned 13...it's time for a tough conversation. LET'S SAVE THE MCU

Ladies & Gentlemen, let's all imagine it's 2013 and you're in the board room at Marvel Studios...Kevin Feige sips his espresso while pointing his taser at you and says "PITCH ME...and SELL ME"As you sit there trembling, your brain starts firing off random synapses and your mouth has no choice but to speak the absurdity into existence..."Talking Raccoon!!""Vin Diesel is a Tree!""WWE Superstar Dave Bautista!""Zoe Saldana Green Alien Woman!!""Ummmm...Dumbass Guy From the Hit NBC Comedy "Parks & Rec"!!!!"It's been an amazing journey over the last 9 years, but we have finally arrived at the end..."Guardian of the Galaxy: Vol 3" not only has a lot riding on it because it's the swan song to this story, but it also has a lot riding on it given the current state of the MCU. Does it deliver? Where are we ranking it? Only one way to find out...Grab your zarg nuts and get ready to party...it's THE REVIEW

Ladies & Gentlemen, there's nothing we appreciate more than constructive criticism...and although we've ignored every single example of this and banned countless listeners for trying to critique the podcast, we're still big big fans. When it comes to FILM criticism, there is one site to rule them all and that's Rotten Tomatoes..."Pearl Harbor" is sitting at 24%??? "Bring It On" at a respectable 64%?? "Ratatouille" coming in HOT at 96%?? Every movie must go through the FRESH or ROTTEN test, and tonight's very special episode has us putting on our prediction hats and looking at 20 of the biggest upcoming movies and their potential Rotten Tomatoes score. As Jigsaw famously said in "Saw 5"...I want to play a game...

We are grabbing the butcher’s knife and dedicating this episode of THE BREAKDOWN to the deeply unsettling…the original (and best)…the 1978 horror classic “Halloween”. Does this movie deserve it’s top tier status in the world of horror films? Does Kasen have hot takes that are so hot we might be forced to shut down the show indefinitely? Does Dr. Loomis spend half this movie standing outside Michael’s old house, hiding in the bushes??? It’s time to find out! You can’t kill the boogeyman, and you can’t have Halloween without “Halloween”…LET’S GO!
Ladies & Gentlemen…imagine watching 9 hours of inescapable dread and terror…watching characters walk the tight rope between the living and the dead…watching forbidden romance and off the charts sexual tension…that’s exactly how I felt after the first Presidential Debate, and I hope those of you that experienced it are doing ok and have recovered.
