What has Sertraline, Heroin, and a Bucket of Paint got in common❓️ Think of you mental health like a leaky pipe dripping on a ceiling causing a stain. In this episode of Talking Minds, titled All That Glitters Isn't Gold - How to Choose the Right People to Support Your Life, we explore the dangers of putting individuals in positions of status or authority on a pedestal. While they may seem like the ideal mentors or supporters, their intentions may not always align with what is best for us. We dive into the complexities of navigating these relationships and offer insights into how to critically assess and choose the right people who genuinely support your growth and wellbeing.
In this episode, we discuss a curious phenomenon that many of us encounter on our journey through life: the creation of rules to reach an endpoint, without truly understanding what that endpoint is. What if we haven't clearly defined what we're actually striving for? What if the destination we think we want is just a mirage, shaped by external expectations and societal norms? As we peel back the layers of this intriguing topic, we explore the concept of giving ourselves permission to "dance" today. Not tomorrow, not after achieving X, Y, or Z, but right now. What does it mean to dance in the metaphorical sense? It's about embracing the moment, allowing ourselves to experience joy, freedom, and spontaneity without the constraints of rigidly defined goals. We encourage you to reflect on your own life's "dance" - are you moving to a rhythm that truly resonates with you, or are you following steps laid out by someone else? This episode is a gentle reminder that it's okay to redefine what success looks like, to change the music and dance to your own beat. Let's explore together how breaking free from our self-imposed rules can lead to a more authentic and joyful existence. So, how can we give ourselves permission to dance today? Tune in, get inspired, and perhaps discover a new direction in your journey.
In the 1960 a revolution started to empower women to play an equal part in society. But the fact is that all though men still have the highest suicide rates, womens mental health is suffering under the pressure of what a women is supposed to look like today. Has female empowerment now created a straight jacket for women and have they lost the truth of you they are? Have men given up on women due to the toxic culture of boss babes, queens and the toxic narrative that the media shows which depicts that all men still objectify women. Where is the voice of the centre and how can we support women in being powerful humans who can tap back into self love, compassion and creativity, which in turn will make men feel more safe. Ladies say "Hell Yes" to the truth of who you are and reclaim your true beauty so the world can come into balance. In this week's episode, we delve into the recent controversy surrounding Jay Shetty and the broader phenomenon of our collective eagerness to elevate individuals to guru status, only to castigate them when our aspirations fail to materialise. This cycle of adulation and condemnation is far from new; it reflects a deep-seated tendency to seek shortcuts to success and wisdom through figureheads. As we dissect the roots of this pattern, we'll explore the psychology behind our desire for quick fixes and the projection of our hopes onto public figures. Join us as we unpack the lessons this teaches us about accountability, the importance of critical thinking, and the journey towards genuine self-improvement and understanding. Welcome to the Talking Minds Podcast, where today we delve into an increasingly vital topic at the intersection of business and personal development: the integration of wellbeing into the heart of corporate culture. In an era where the term 'wellbeing' has become as ubiquitous and multifaceted as a Google search, we find ourselves at a crossroads. The issue at hand is not just about implementing wellness programs but fostering an environment of psychological safety. Psychological safety, or the assurance that one can express ideas, admit mistakes, and take risks without fear of retribution, is foundational to innovation, creativity, and, fundamentally, to the wellbeing of employees. Yet, many organizations treat wellbeing as an afterthought, a band-aid solution outsourced to address symptoms rather than embedding it as a core aspect of their culture and operations. Today, we challenge the notion that wellbeing is merely an adjunct to business. Instead, we explore how creating environments where people feel safe to fail, explore, and create can transform not only the workplace but also the very essence of how businesses operate and thrive. Join us as we discuss the importance of integrating psychological safety into the fabric of organizational culture, and how doing so can build more resilient, motivated, and cohesive teams, fostering trusted brands and sustainable success in the process. Let's dive in.

Dea Fileva spent 7 years in corporate having everything and nothing. Nice holidays, lived in central London, but she had no meaning. She wasn't helping anyone, she wasn't contributing or creating anything. Something had to give. After a year of intense stress she found herself medicated on the full range of modern day medication: Ritalin for ADHD, antidepressants for anxiety and Valium, just in case the anxiety got so bad she couldn't even function. Which happened a lot. For a while everything was perfect, until one day she remember a voice say: "Is this all there is to life?" Dea said "I can't spend the rest of my life on this life support, and for what: just to be able to work, to function and help a company make money. There's got to be another way". And of course there was. You know that feeling when you're sick and tired of being trying so hard? When you're determined that there has to be solution, a solution always appears. A friend advised her on how she might find that freedom and she hasn't looked back since. 2 years later she graduated as a therapist and today as an EFT and NLP practitioner, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and RTT practitioner, Dea helps highly sensitive people overcome ADHD, anxiety and depression and create a life they dream of. Welcome our Guest Sarah Stephens Sarah Stephens is a PR and marketing expert, a travel concierge, entrepreneur champion and an advocate for life after child loss. She has worked with international brands, SMEs and entrepreneurs for over 20 years to help them grow their businesses in the UK marketplace through targeted PR and marketing. Successfully launching new brands and managing the development of brand portfolios. She also lectures in marketing and entrepreneurship at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has had her own boutique PR agency Tree Communications for the last 10 years specialising in travel, hospitality and events. She launched a travel concierge business Sarah Stephens Escapes last year in the midst of the global pandemic, organising holidays for a niche demographic of people, so the only thing they needed to worry about was having the time of their lives. She now assists with the travel element for destination weddings and luxury honeymoons too. Her passion for travel helped her in the darkest of times when her eldest daughter passed away nearly 5 years ago and her son a year after that. It was then she discovered that child loss is a major taboo still and not spoken about. She felt isolated and alone. Those she told about it weren't sure how to react. She realised something needed to change. So she started a blog to help those also suffering to feel less alone and those who weren't to be able to relate to friend or contacts better. She has raised over £50k for Alder Hey Children's Hospital for her daughter's legacy. She reframed her loss to motivate and inspire her to push forward to achieve more for her children's' legacy. She is planning a charity and a podcast. Travel and her love of exploring helped her through her grief this is why she has called her travel consultancy Sarah Stephens Escapes In this podcast we talk travel and top tips but also how grief can power your purpose. Ben Calder on Male and Female Integral Dynamics I am so please to have my good friend Ben Calder - Founder of Integral Health Shrewsbury, Life Force Qigong, Kinesiologist, Integral Relationships Facilitator, NLP Master Practitioner and all round great guy on the Man Up Series. Ben has his own story around relationships and we talk openly about the tools which have helped him navigate the world as a man and learn about relationships with self and others. Ben has been a font of knowledge and support to many including myself. When I was starting my practice Ben gave me a place to learn and connect through the Centre of Integral Health and I love Ben's openess, knowledge and eagerness to learn more about the human soul, spirit and body. I couldn't do this podcast without having him on as a guest. The founder of Integral Theory is contemporary American thinker and writer Ken Wilber who is often regarded as “the Einstein of consciousness” and some think his work is as much a game changer for the 21st century as Freud was for the 20th century in psychology or Einstein in physics. When Ben introduced me to his work it really helped with my practice as a Rapid Transformational Therapist. So it would be foolish not to look at the subject of relationships and male perceptions of self without including Integral theory. For those thinking this is heavy stuff it isn't, it does however allow you to understand that your are not on your own and we elevate through levels of conciousness on multiple planes. Sit back and relax. This is a listen if you want to understand that chattering voice and understand wwhy yoou are where you are. You can connect with Ben online: Ben has been working professionally in complementary health and wellbeing since 2003 with an interest that stems back over 30 years, initially as a way of helping himself. Ben uses an Integral approach to exploring health to ensure that any relevant aspects of mind/thought/emotion, body/behaviour/diet, relationships/culture and the impact of the environment are all considered when supporting wellbeing with his clients. He can then apply his multidisciplinary approach to help create a unique wellness path for each individual. Ben has taught and lectured on many subjects of health including kinesiology, Bowen Technique, Qigong and Integral Theory and is the founder of the Centre for Integral Health in Shrewsbury UK. https://bencalder.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/bencalderintegralhealth https://instagram.com/bengcalder https://twitter.com/BenGCalder https://www.linkedin.com/in/bencalderintegralhealth/

Meet our Guest Steve (widely known as ‘Lobby’ - a proud Lancastrian) Thornton, is a retired Metropolitan Police Officer, having completed 30+ years, and has been working as a Civilian Senior Firearms Instructor for the last 5 years. Recent studies have shown that 1 in 4 Police Officers/Staff/Volunteers will experience mental illness and 1 in 5 will suffer from PTSD or Complex PTSD. Steve like myself is on a mission to not just bring more awareness around this important issue but to ensure the frontline get the support they deserve. Steve says: “My passion is the wellbeing of my colleagues; serving and retired as well as the families behind them who are often overlooked when it comes to welfare support.” Starting as a Cadet in 1982, Lobby joined the job in 1983 and began working in busy Inner London before transferring to SO19, the Met’s Firearms Unit in 1995. He then worked as an Operational Firearms Officer and is a National Police Firearms Instructor. Lobby is an experienced Post Incident Support Program Selected Instructor, a Welfare Coach for the Police Firearms Officers Association, an Ambassador for Police Care UK, a TRiM Manager, and a Founder member of the National Prevention of Police Suicides Group. Lobby is a very proactive and forthright Wellbeing Champion, working tirelessly on behalf of colleagues within the Met and elsewhere. Lobby like myself is keen to give the frontline the best care possible. Lobby set up Trojan Wellbeing in 2020 as a result of ongoing work supporting both colleagues and their families experiencing difficulties. It is widely recognised that mental health support is not as helpful as it could be from many senior managers, and there is an ever-growing need for Mental Health First Aid training to recognise the symptoms; as well as learning about how to signpost those seeking help. Trojan Wellbeing aims to provide MHFA trained officers throughout the forces, who will learn to proactively spot early warning signs and have the confidence to start a conversation with those who appear to be struggling. This in turn will create a wide-reaching peer support network and proactively supply support swiftly and accurately. Courses available TRiM - Trauma Management’ dealing with colleagues following a traumatic incident. Mental Health Fitness Screening - Self Awareness is key to a healthy life. A Mum who found wisdom through spiritual guidance. Bobbies passion is to align humanity goes without doubt and as more and more people become awakened Bobbie explains how our conscious left brain has been keeping us trapped for centuries and how many are now awakening their right brain and bringing new realities into their life. This one is not for the faint hearted as Bobbie explains our potential to ignite our natural abilities, that of the intuition and imagination, giving us new abilities which she calls the 3T's Telepathy, Telekinesis, Teleportation, and much more. Giving humanity a whole new perspective into our reality, one where we are all responsible for our own creations. She talks about her mission, connecting us back with Earth or Ghia. She explains how her magic and her connection with other beings of higher vibrations is teaching others how to take back their power, go within to create a world we all LOVE and are proud of. Bobbie says: "I hold many codes through memories and feelings not only of past lives but also of stories shown to me of realities beyond this limited programming by benevolent beings. I have always seen (with my eyes) into the unseen and other realities as this gift was passed down through my DNA from my parents, especially my Mothers side as she also had the same gift. To fully awaken myself and to connect to source and the many dimensions that hold answers to our questions, I had to do the inner work, just like everyone else, clearing all programming that I was not enough. Through this clearing, I've learned a lot and can now help many others find themselves back to the amazing empowered humans we all are and to connect back into remembering we are all ONE." Bobbie Richardson As a seer and channeler, Bobbie has been visited and taken to other dimensional realities. Her drive has taken her deep down the rabbit hole to finding out what humanity can become, having had many messages given to her. She talks about one of the most amazing events she has had in this reality. When she met a Cherokee Elder named Grandmother Pa'Ris'Ha from Ohio who took her hand in 2006 and talked to her telepathically for over an hour, this directed her attention into asking - 'What is humanities potential?' Her story has not only healed her own issues, but it has challenged herself to look at herself honestly, but she now, with the wisdom handed to her by other dimensional beings. is helping others who are ready to step out of the matrix to reach their own potential and reality. We are all here to help humanity wake up to their potential and we invite you to join us as we explore this amazing journey. About Deborah Forsythe Aesthetics and Early Career Having qualified specialising in Accident and Emergency medicine she was at the forefront of acute trauma at The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, eventually leading the medical team. In the early 1980's, she moved to London with my family and continued to use her trauma experience in St Thomas' and Guys' Hospital emergency units. Her interest in medical aesthetics stemmed from observing the distress caused by facial trauma during her time working in Belfast and London. In the 1990s she had the privilege of working with several of the country's leading plastic surgeons. Her field of expertise, non-surgical facial rejuvenation, age management and menopause, has been my passion for over 30 years. She has been a clinical consultant for Q-Med, a leading biotechnology company, and Allergan, a leading pharmaceutical company, a founding member of the education team of the First Master's Degree in Medical Aesthetics at the University of Central Lancashire. As a lecturer, trainer and expert in medical aesthetics and age management, she has maintained a pan-European portfolio for 20 years. Menopause Expertise and Consultancy Deb is a graduate of the Marion Gluck Academy, trained in hormone balancing therapy using Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy and body identical therapy. Her interest in Menopause and related hormonal disturbances came from my own experience. Despite knowing and understanding the process, when it happened to her it was chaos. She promised herself she would find the pathways to help other women have the opportunity to change their own experience and take control of their menopause in a productive way. Through her work, her clients regain their confidence and make informed decisions about their menopause transition. Deb provides women with solutions, treatments and support to sleep well, feel well, be strong and healthy, to live their best lives and be their best selves - all whilst navigating the challenges of ageing, and dealing with the physical and mental issues that arise from their menopause. She specialises in treating patients with a combination program of Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy and functional nutrition plans. Each program is planned for the specific individual needs of each of my patients. Her methods have been tried, tested and shared with clients to achieve results. Listen before you judge is key to this podcastThis podcast seeks to find out why as a white man with perceived privilege I feel I have no voice, as a white man, why I feel more connected to discrimination because of my journey to the bottom of the valley. Why ego is killing more people, dividing more people and why we can't see through the lens of love.We are going into the rabbit hole to celebrate World Mental Health Day on October 10th so come join us - It will be our privilege to share this with you.On World Mental Health Day this podcast maybe the thing that gives someone permission to seek help, so please share, you may save a life.I also want to share my book which is available on Amazon, click the link below to read for FreeDrowning in Anxiety#wmhd #wmhd2020
Having Crohn's Disease and Ankylosing Spondylitis, meant Sara struggled with stress and chronic pain most of my life. It ended her career at BofA (BAML) and HSBC Asset Management, and the business that she started with her partner started when we left the city and moved back to North Wales in 2004.She speaks about how in 2015, in Critical Care on full life support for 4 weeks, then in hospital for a further 4 months, she left hospital in a worse physical and mental condition than ever before. So why is she so grateful for that event?! Because, it meant she was forced to change my life, find new, better ways of dealing with worry and pain. It was either give up, or get to work finding a solution, and with a 6 year old daughter, giving up was never going to be an option.Inspiring lady, inspiring coach and I hope this podcast will inspire you to reach out and start your own journey of discovery.
God, Universe can you hear it?Nothing is impossible but sometimes you ask!!!Where did that come from? This podcast is well, in fact I can't describe it.As a therapist I am always wanting to learn, knowing that we hold the answers and my next biggest challenge was to transform my body.Rapid Transformational Therapy is a great tool for this, so I have been working with the amazing Lauren Daniel Coach and RTT Therapist, colleague and friend. This journey has been strange but our session on 6th August 2020 was far from what we expected. In this podcast I will reveal the experience and let you decide what you think it means.I am simply relaying what happened and what my interpretation is or in fact isn't.Stay with me and enjoy the ride, you may need a lie down after.Profound and thought provoking I try to explain to Tracy what happened and answer the the question - Did I Experience God?Often the answers we are looking for are not what we expect.
With the global pandemic is full swing and many looking for answers, we continue to look outwardly for what we need.Freedom, love, security and serenity. We look to feel safe and we forget we already have the answers but if you look to the sky you will not find fish. Knowledge is power and you already have everything you need, you just need to know where to look, in this podcast I will share with you some of my observations and how I have being re-framing the new normal as an opportunity, come join me as I discuss....
Dream, Believe, Dare, DoThat was the motto of Walter Elias DisneyHe understood people and stories about the heroes journey followed a natural universal law.The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. It's kind of fun to do the impossible. All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. When you understand transformation and education are different and that therapy is not transformation, but a therapist, coach, mentor guide is the person who can help you along the way to your dreams, like Aladdin and the Genie, Cinderella and her Fairy God Mother, you soon realise that these stories are actually the formula to change impossible to I Am Possible.Join me on this podcast as we unpick the secret to transformation lies in the movies we show our kids.Wanna build a snowman?
STEPS - "Tragedy...When the feelings gone...And you can't go on it's Tragedy...When the morning cries and you don't know why , it's hard to bear..With no-one to love you...Your going nowhere..Tragedy"STOP - WRONG STEPSThis episode is not about the 90's pop band from the UK, but the final episode in The Journey to Abundance Series.I am sure many of you listen to the podcasts, read the books and go to the conferences. Many will know you need to step forward and in this podcast we look at why many people fail to live their Why, their purpose and look at how you can create a firm foothold to take the tiny steps in the right direction. FACTS formula is not linear, at each stage of breaking through Fear, taking Action and Accountability, Choosing the path, Trusting yourself and others are multi direction steps on you journey to abundance. In the Gospel of Matthew, the Parable appears at the end of the Sermon on the Mount as follows:Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock.Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.— Matthew 7:24–27This story is one of ethics and growth but has firmness in the steps we should take in life. By "rain" here, and "floods," and "winds," we metaphorically talk of the calm and afflictions that befall us; such as false accusations, plots, bereavements, deaths, loss of friends, vexations from strangers, all the ills in our life that any one could mention, they are the sands that pass by serving no purpose other than lessons.Steadfastness of our truth, purpose and WHY will see us weather the storm on our road to abundance, whilst staying on the shifting sands will give us no firmness of balance. The rock is out belief that the steps we are taking are for something greater than we yet knowWow that's deep, don't worry the podcast is lighter.....enjoy

Following on from the last podcast on choice with our last guest, Tracy and I wanted to look at this theme once more, because when it comes to an abundance mindset, when it comes to choice, it is really important to define for yourself what choice means. Our own experience has taught us choice is neither right or wrong, good or bad, however there are questions to be asked when making choices.Previously in the series we discussed fear and accountability and making decisions on those is down to choice. So join us an get some clarity on what choice is on your own journey to abundance.Or choose not to the choice is yours :)
Wow this podcast is amazing, our special guest is Nicola Etheridge, a part time NHS Senior Neonatal Sister with 30 years experience in the wonderful National Health Service (NHS).Nicola speaks openly about her own experience in modern healthcare and how her personal experience led to her asking questions about how modern medicine is impacting people.Nicola says “I am a passionate advocate and promoter of Functional Medicine. I believe the root cause of disease should be addressed and dealt with rather than symptom patching with medication and surgery. As a mother of 3 grown up children; one of whom facilitated her entrance into Functional Medicine through a serious, life changing illness, Nicola has seen both sides of our medical system and is a great advocate of promoting her motto of ‘Question Everything!’”We discuss that for many fear and perceived trust doesn't allow patients, nurses and doctors to question "the system" and what is the price society is paying for that.We delve deep into everything from how we feed our body, mind, soul and heart and we even get a little scientific talking about how the choices we make effect the very cells in our body.Join us as we raise awareness about how little changes in thought and process can really impact everyone and how challenging the way we live, will change lives and we can all move forward on our own Journey to Abundance. So choose to join us, you'll be so glad you did
Action and Accountability EP11 - The Journey to Abundance Series Part 3#gamechanger So carrying on our Journey to Abundance Series Tracy and I are back on our own and we are talking Action and Accountability. This maybe the #gamechanger for some it may also be uncomfortable for others, but we like to push the boundries. To quote Emma Privilege from the Mindset Movement "IF IT'S TO BE, IT'S UP TO ME"You are your past present and future, how you show up, speak to yourself will define your abundance.Start owning your life not the labels.Diving Deep Let's Go!!!
In this podcast Tracy and I discuss what FEAR really is, how the stories we tell ourselves are just that and how when we find the WHY to our Fear we can push through and create abundance, stop the negative and promote a positive environment in our mind which in turn changes our experience in life.We quote Brene Brown and David Goggins today and especially David's mantra "We should all learn what we are running from and why - Fear Makes Us......" I get on my soapbox about how inconsiderate thought can effect those who are vulnerable and how society uses our fears against us.But you know they really don't, because when you find the why to your fear, realise it's just a story based on lessons, you can choose to change the story forever. We are joined by a special guest and new friend to the show Brooke Bownes a Break Through Specialist who discusses how she stopped feeding fear after a abusive childhood and relationships, changed her mindset and heart set, started loving her self and now she empowers others like Tracey and I do show you you can have it all. This is an great podcast if you are ready for transformation and we have popped the contacts of our hosts below so you can book that discovery call and together we can get on the good ship abundance and sail to paradise.Your HostsFacebook - http://facebook.com/talking_mindsMarcus MatthewsRapid Transformational Therapist & Life CoachFree Gift - http://awesome.makeyourlifecount.co.ukWebsite - http://makeyourlifecount.co.ukFacebook - http://facebook.com/makeyourlifecountukFB Community - http://facebook.com/groups/makeyourlifecount Tracy CarrollRapid Transformational Therapy PractitionerFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/resetyourthinkingwithtracycarroll/ Brooke Bownes - Break Through Specialist (Special Guest)Facebook - http://facebook.com/brookebownes01Empowered to Achieve More - EventBook Now at http://bit.ly/TEAM-Telford Sat, 29 February 2020 - 09:30 – 16:30 GMAre limiting beliefs stopping you from going for your dreams?Do you feel stuck but not sure why?Do you have challenges you'd like to overcome?Want to make a difference in your life, then book your ticket now! Throughout time we have spent our time connecting with people, proving our worth to ensure our survival. This Podcast looks at why proving our worth to others is stopping our in greatness, how our physical environments have changed but our attitudes towards them have not.I discuss the 4 roles we play and how those roles are programmed in us.The power of not proving is a concept to start knowing your purpose and why, because you have nothing to prove to anyone and when you unleash that power, freedom, peace and abundance will flow into your life
