Send us a textI am so grateful for the growing audience of people listening to Anything Flows. I hope that what I bring you is informative, intersteing and inspriring. In this episode I share some updates about my career, education and personal goals for 2025. I also share how I set myself up for success to achieve my goals. I recently discovered a great podcast episode on The Huberman Lab with Dr. Ellen Langer who talks about the power of choice and our minds. This has also helped me take control over my goals and make changes. In my Masters program for Integral Health and Yoga Therapy, I have been studying subtle energy bodies and the paradigms of health and diseases throughout the world. The spirit is a foundational piece to our interconnectedness, which includes our physical, emotional and mental health. In this episode, I share how our subtle bodies and their unique inner senses can help us interpret our reality and the changes we need to make to release suffering and align with our highest self. Today I am speaking with two engaging and insightful medical professionals from Brazil, the sisters Fernanda and Marianna Schveitzer. We talk about their book Self-Care: A dynamic approach to integral health. Fernanda is a physician specialised in occupational medicine. Marianna is a nurse and university lecturer with a PhD in Science and post-doctorate from the school of nursing at the University of São Paulo. Anybody who has dealt with health issues know that health is a fundamental pillar of being able to live a joyful and productive life. If we want to complete our life mission, it helps us to be in good health. So in this conversation I explore some of the key aspects of the integral health model that Fernanda and Marianna have developed and that includes many practical ideas we can all put into practice. We also discuss some broad picture questions about the tension between personal health needs and universal systems and how physical and non-physical factors come together in health. If you find this topic interesting and would like a chance to go more in depth and connect with Fernanda and Marianna you can join our book club in which we are reading their book. We meet once every month until June 2024 and you are welcome to join at any time. The easiest way is to join the WhatsApp group of the club using this link https://chat.whatsapp.com/KxwYh7nEFlo7YHcdla8jBY You can find self-care resources that Fernanda and Mariana have prepared on their website: https://www.autocuidado.org/blog The 1st Australasian Pacific Conference on Parareurbanology and Serenology, is happening from 18-20 October at the Adelaide Convention centre. In this webinar, organized by NAMAH (The Journal of Integral Health), we take a look at multiple knots of habits with which we are tied, and how to get of them.
In this webinar with NAMAH (The journal of Integral Health) we take a look at the steps we can take towards Freedom and Mastery. The questions were:1. What is the effect of fear on spiritual practice?2. Dreams and formation seem to be coming from collective, how to overcome it?
This talk by Dr Alok Pandey is an overview of grief and some psycho-spiritual ways to deal with it. Conducted as a part of a webinar organized by NAMAH, the Journal of Integral Health. The talk was followed by the following questions: 1. When in a relationship, how to know if one is loving the Divine? 2. Does the soul has a form too? 3. Do souls come back in the same family? 4. When a departed seen in a dream, is that real? 5. Detachment and Indifference. 6. If the departed parents come in a dream, is there a connection? 7. If departed loved ones come in a dream and say they don't want to leave us, what does it mean?
In this webinar, we look at the causes of pain and suffering and their true remedy. The follow-up questions were: 1. Using spirituality to bypass or escape the pain. 2. The Budha and withdrawal from life. 3. Passage of pain. 4. Hostile forces that affect us psychologically. A talk by Dr Alok Pandey at a webinar by NAMAH, the Journal of Integral Health.
This talk is about the way towards Integral health. Follow-up questions include (1) How come the great yogis such as Ramana Maharshi and Ramakrishna had incurable diseases, and (2) How to find the psychic being.
A talk by Dr Alok Pandey from a series dealing with psychological difficulties in yoga. Recorded at Savitri Bhavan, Auroville, and sponsored by Santé – Auroville Institute for Integral Health.
Questions include role of techniques such as counting the numbers, deep breathing, mindfulness methods, righteous wrath, Agni, practice of equanimity etc. This Q&A Session follows a talk at Savitri Bhavan, Auroville, from a series on psychological difficulties in yoga, sponsored by Santé – Auroville Institute for Integral Health.
This is a re-post from December 2017 – now with a beautifully made Auroville WIKI page with a full transcript and supplementary materials. This is a questions and answers session, which followed the main talk by Dr Alok Pandey.Sponsored by Sante-Auroville Institute for Integral Health.
The presentation includes a talk by Dr. Alok Pandey, followed by questions and answers (a separate post and video). Sponsored by Sante-Auroville Institute for Integral Health. This is a re-post from December 2017 – now with a beautifully made Auroville WIKI page with a full transcript and supplementary materials. How can one deal with psychological difficulties on the spiritual path in the light of Mother and Sri Aurobindo’s teachings? The spiritual energy surrounding Auroville is tremendous. What are its effects on our different bodies: mental, vital and physical? What are the effects of that force of revelation and transformation on each of us? Loneliness, misunderstanding, confusion, relationship problems, are just some of the challenges a seeker faces on the spiritual path. Meanwhile, the ego could become inflated from spiritual experiences and develop distortions of perceptions. A family may reach Auroville together and find the variation in levels of progress and knowledge between individuals leads to conflicts within the family. This could be between parents or between parents and children. Finally, what are these subtle forces that we don’t even notice or that we feel sometimes within us that could lead us in a particular direction? Are we always protected or is there danger on the spiritual path?
The second talk by Dr Alok Pandey about dealing with psychological challenges on the spiritual path in the light of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo. Delivered at the event, organised at the Pavilion of Tibetan Culture, Auroville, by Sante (Auroville Institute for Integral Health). A full transcript is beautifully presented, along with multiple supplementary materials, at Auroville WIKI article, please explore.

Ben Calder on Male and Female Integral Dynamics I am so please to have my good friend Ben Calder - Founder of Integral Health Shrewsbury, Life Force Qigong, Kinesiologist, Integral Relationships Facilitator, NLP Master Practitioner and all round great guy on the Man Up Series. Ben has his own story around relationships and we talk openly about the tools which have helped him navigate the world as a man and learn about relationships with self and others. Ben has been a font of knowledge and support to many including myself. When I was starting my practice Ben gave me a place to learn and connect through the Centre of Integral Health and I love Ben's openess, knowledge and eagerness to learn more about the human soul, spirit and body. I couldn't do this podcast without having him on as a guest. The founder of Integral Theory is contemporary American thinker and writer Ken Wilber who is often regarded as “the Einstein of consciousness” and some think his work is as much a game changer for the 21st century as Freud was for the 20th century in psychology or Einstein in physics. When Ben introduced me to his work it really helped with my practice as a Rapid Transformational Therapist. So it would be foolish not to look at the subject of relationships and male perceptions of self without including Integral theory. For those thinking this is heavy stuff it isn't, it does however allow you to understand that your are not on your own and we elevate through levels of conciousness on multiple planes. Sit back and relax. This is a listen if you want to understand that chattering voice and understand wwhy yoou are where you are. You can connect with Ben online: Ben has been working professionally in complementary health and wellbeing since 2003 with an interest that stems back over 30 years, initially as a way of helping himself. Ben uses an Integral approach to exploring health to ensure that any relevant aspects of mind/thought/emotion, body/behaviour/diet, relationships/culture and the impact of the environment are all considered when supporting wellbeing with his clients. He can then apply his multidisciplinary approach to help create a unique wellness path for each individual. Ben has taught and lectured on many subjects of health including kinesiology, Bowen Technique, Qigong and Integral Theory and is the founder of the Centre for Integral Health in Shrewsbury UK. https://bencalder.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/bencalderintegralhealth https://instagram.com/bengcalder https://twitter.com/BenGCalder https://www.linkedin.com/in/bencalderintegralhealth/

This was a great follow up interview with Hilary Stock on the research she has conducted for her Masters degree looking at why we over eat and what are the factors surrounding it. Creating a clear differentiation from more commonly associated eating disorders, she looks at what is a much more common practice with people. It was great to hear many ideas that I was familar with and supported in this and also how much it given Hilary insight into some of her own behaviours. You can get in contact with Hilary via her website https://aspencounselling.co.uk/Or via her profile page on the Centre for Integral Health website https://integralhealthshrewsbury.com/about-us/our-practitioners/hilary-stock/
Lisseth Rojas-Flores, associate professor of clinical psychology, speaks about the church’s mission to care holistically for the vulnerable and marginalized—addressing not only spiritual needs but physical and social ones as well. This audio is a recording from Fuller’s All-Seminary Chapel on October 9, 2019. Music at the beginning and end of this audio stream is taken from a recent album entitled REVERE | RESTORE, created and recorded by members of the Fuller community under the leadership of Ed Willmington, director of the Fred Bock Institute of Music at Fuller’s Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts.
It was great to sit down with Acupuncture lecturer Amanda Bedding and discuss acupuncture and what brought her to be practicing this amazing therapy. We talk about integral health models and why the chinese system is so comprehensive, does it hurt, how do acupuncturists decide what to needle, what the difference between acupuncture and dry needling is.It's really great to get a broad idea of what acupuncture can do and how it works best.
One of the other great gifts of running the Centre for Integral Health is that I get to hear a lot of great stories about how people came to offer the therapies they practice.Amanda Vernalls who offers Yoga 1-2-1's, Medtation training, Reiki and massage is just one of those. Having depression and anxiety herself and using a combination of Yoga and Meditation to help heal her mind and beleifs about her self and is now teaching these skills to other to help them with their own journey. Listen on to find out what it did for her.You can contact Amanda via her page on the Centre for Integral Health Website https://integralhealthshrewsbury.com/about-us/our-practitioners/amanda-vernalls-1/ or via her own website https://www.ommandalaspirit.com/
We've been lucky enough at Centre for Integral Health in the last 2 years to have Hilary Stock of Aspen Councelling offering a psychosynthesis approach to councelling and how this differs from the more conventional forms of councelling such of CBT and how this can contribute a valuable alternative route that can look more deeply at not just causative factors but also a vision of the possible future. You can learn more about Hilary's approach to counselling from her link on the centre site https://integralhealthshrewsbury.com/about-us/our-practitioners/hilary-stock/ or from her own website https://www.aspencounselling.co.uk/
As part of the latest series of interviews, I will be talking to practitioners from the Centre for Integral Health in Shrewsbury to find out what makes their approach to health so unique and why it fits so well with the integral model. In this episode, long term Alexander Teacher Patrick Pearson talks about what got him involved in Alexander Technique, how it maximised his rowing skills and saw him coaching olympic athletes, what it can be use for and the less commonly known benefits for musicians, athletes, actors as well as the more obvious applications. He also talks about his new branding Pearson Integral Health as he brings his Non-Violent Communication skills and recent connection in to Access Consciousness The Bars which he sees as a great compliment to his Alexander Teaching and an embracing of his commitment to an integral approch to health
Elaine Godley of Elastic FM's Perfect Health show invited me on this month for an interview about all things holistic, what the integral vision is and how it can be used in health assessment and maintainance. Just before doing the Snowdon 24hr Charity Challeneg, Christina and I were lucky enough to invited onto BBC Radio Shropshire to discuss the reasons behind this choice of challenge. They were also kind enough to invite us for a follow up interview by phone the following week. Here you have both segments from the radio show. It was reall great to get to talk about this on public radio and share our success as we raised over £3000 for our collective charities of Midlands Air Ambulance and the Shropshire, Stafforshire, Cheshire Blood Bikes
So this little episode is a short chat with founder of Snowdrop House Hypnotherpay, NLP Coach, Mindfulness Teacher, Business Coach and Personal Trainer, all round miss motivated, Christina Morgan. We're going to be talking about why she had the idea to raise money for the Staffordshire/Shropshire/Cheshire Blood Bikes by seeing how many times she can go up and down Mt Snowdon in Wales in 24hrs on 6-7th July 2018. What is even more miraculous is that she managed to convince me that it would be a good idea, so I'm joining her to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance at the same time. You can help donate to these great charities through our just giving pages https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ben-calderor https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/christina-morgan5and you can also join in with the event, come along on part of the trek or just follow the updates on our Facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/606377393043109/and you can also find out more about Christiona and her work at https://www.snowdrophouse.co.uk/
I took a bit of time out of my 15th anniversary celebrations to interview nutritionist Naomi Langford-Archer who is based at the Centre for Integral Health in Shrewsbury UK to talk about some of the great innovations that Naomi brings to her nutritional practice. Not only can she offer traditional nutritional guidance, but also employs a number of objective tests to help inform the direction of the advice she gives. Here we get to talk about her arterial stiffness testing, for assessing biological age in arteries and mitochondrial therapy for restoring function to the cellular batteries in our bodies, the mitochondria. You can learn more about these, book sessions with Naomi and more at her website https://www.gutnutrition.co.uk/
It was a really enjoyable experience for me to be invited onto Tracy Jones' Talking Business show on Calon FM on Thursday 12th March 2015 for a chance to talk about my development as a therapist, the Centre for Integral Health and our Crowdfunder Campaign and other health topics. Tracy Jones of Re-Think and Do has a weekly Business show on Calon FM, which each week has a guest there to talk about their business, its inception, development, challenges and the motivation behind it all. It was a real treat to be able to spend the whole show (what amounted to just over 30 minutes of talk time) going into a healthy level of detail on my practice, why I do it and what challenges and projects I have for the future. It was great to be able to have some dedicated time to talk about the Crowdfunder campaign as well and our efforts to develop the business by making the space we have more versatile and open.I also got to talk a little about a little known area of my professional training, my Geopathic Stress surveying and how it can be used ot help businesses and individuals to have a healthier home environment.

Members of the Italian Community Of Living Ethics attended a talk by Loretta on integral health and healing according to Sri Aurobindo and Mother. Many of the visitors were Naturopaths. They learned about the planes of the physical, mental, and vital and how an illness could be in any or all of these parts of the patient. Mother taught that illness is always a fall back into some kind of unconsciousness because we are not able to keep up with the movement of transformation of our consciousness. This is true whether it is Nature's slower evolution in us or when we do yoga to work for faster transformation. All illness is a disharmony in the being. The healer's work is to restore harmony. All healing is a change of consciousness. The talk ended with this quotation from Mother; “The method we use to deal with our body, to maintain it, to keep it fit, to improve it and keep it in good health, depends exclusively on the state of consciousness we are in, because our body is an instrument of our consciousness and our consciousness can act directly on our body and can obtain what we want from it.
About my guest, in her words: My career is focused on healthy aging in women, including hormone replacement therapy using primarily bio-identical hormones, and reducing risks for functional loss and dependency. I specialize in the endocrinology of menopause and disease risk reduction as reflected in individual patient care options and clinical management decision-making, with an emphasis on breast cancer early detection, diagnosis, treatment options and ongoing cancer survivor care. Further insight into the depth of our need to nurture ourselves throughout a woman’s life is fueled by having delivered over 1,500 babies in addition to being a mother myself. From babyhood to adulthood, we all deserve compassionate, kind and patient attention to our individual needs. I have committed to becoming more active in the politics of medicine, hoping to preserve the very special nature of the physician patient relationship as well as promoting greater collegiality through all sectors of health care. I am a member of the following professional organizations: American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Fellow, 1984 to present. American Society for Reproductive Medicine, 1983 to present North American Menopause Society, 1992 to present American Society of Breast Disease, 1994 to present California Medical Association: San Francisco Medical Society, 1981 to present. Editorial Board, 1998-present. Editor in Chief, 1999- 2001. The American Medical Writers Association, 1994-2000. My academic appointments include: Volunteer Clinical faculty at UC San Francisco (Women’s health, gynecology and female sexuality courses) former faculty at the University of Arizona School of Medicine (associate professor for the “Current issues in women and children’s health” course) and adjunct teaching in the Integral Health Studies Program of the California Institute of Integral Studies (see www.CIIS.edu master’s program in Integral Health). As part of community outreach, I enjoy appearing on television, as a regular women’s health guest expert on local and national television and radio programs as well as public lectures. Professional continuing education seminars for doctors, nurses, physician assistants and psychologists continue to be a regular part of my professional activities I serve on the non-profit Sophia Project Board of trustees, devoted to caring for near-homeless mothers and children in West Oakland and the larger Bay Area. I also serve on the Board of the California Institute of Integral Studies, a University offering bachelor’s degree completion, Masters and PhDs (see www.CIIS.edu). For 15 years I served on the board of the Patient Assistance Foundation whose job it is to raise money for health education, social services and financial counseling for those in need. My hobbies include savory cooking and baking, having held a job as pastry chef assistant during college and never losing my enthusiasm for good organic home cooking. I also enjoy music (when I can practice, I play viola in chamber music groups and sing soprano), reading a diversity of philosophical and historical writers, bike riding and hiking to explore nature and the world. My books include The Pocket Guide to Bioidentical Hormones, Alpha Press 2010, and Mother Nurture, with Rick and Jan Hanson, Penguin, 2002.
