In honor of May, and celebrating womanhood and motherhood I wanted to talk a little bit about hormones and a woman's cycle. I reached out to Brad Jensen from Key Nutrition and the Key Nutrition Podcast to help us understand that! Brad is a fitness and nutrition coach focusing on not just physical health, but mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Yes, Brad is a man, but he's a coach. The beauty of having a coach is having someone as an observer. Someone who's more like the data collector and investigator. Brad is a coach who's worked with a lot of women. He has had training and experience as a coach for women. In this podcast interview, we talk a lot about how a woman's cycle affects not only her exercise, but also her appetites, dieting, and day-to-day! We talk about cravings, hunger, constipation, all the things! But most importantly, we discussed the importance of giving ourselves a little grace when it is "that time of the month!" There isn't anything wrong with you! It's your body, your hormones, your physiology! Enjoy! Today's guest is Brad Jensen, also known as thesoberbodybuilder online. He is the owner of Key Nutrition and - co-host of the popular "The Key nutrition podcast." Brad has an incredible recovery story and over ten years of sobriety. The ironic thing about Brad's story is that fitness has played both a positive and a negative role in his life, and it even led him to try painkillers for the first time when he was just seventeen. The years followed were filled with self-destruction and turmoil, leading to multiple incarcerations and rehab visits. After being homeless for nearly a year in 2012, Brad found himself at rock bottom after his mom bought heroin for him so that he wouldn't feel dope sick at his Grandfather's funeral. His mother, filled with tears, watched Brad get high in the back of her car; this was Brad's breaking point. Hours later, Brad found himself arrested again, but this time it was the catalyst for his sobriety. Today he comes on the podcast to tell his riveting story from start to finish. We talk about the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Our discussion also gets tactical as we dive into how to thrive in recovery, the power of your inner circle and much more! This week's episode of The Cured Collective Podcast is a replay from one of the show's most downloaded episodes. Brad Jenson, the Sober Bodybuilder and host of The Key Nutrition Podcast, interviews Joe. Together, the two explore Joe's personal mission, as well as how it intersects with CURED's overarching mission as a company and community. Joe also explains the difference between hemp and cannabis; how to differentiate between CBD, CBN and THC products; the benefits of CBD products for sleep quality, gut health, and general aches and pains; and the narrative (and resulting stigma) that has surrounded cannabis since the early 1900s. Tune in to learn more! “When the person who you want to be and the person who you actually are, are not the same person, you are never going to be happy. You are also going to find yourself anxious all of the time.” – Joseph Sheehey Key Highlights When Joe first decided to change his life trajectory and how this inspired the creation of Cured Nutrition; How to discern between the effects of alcohol, cannabis, and CBD; How companies can set themselves apart from the masses, and why integrity is a non-negotiable in doing so; Why old narratives and stigma surrounding cannabis and CBD negatively impacted the public's understanding of the therapeutic potential of the plant; How to incorporate CBD, CBN, and THC products into a daily wellness regimen. Welcome back to Iron Sights! In this episode, I sat down with Brad Jenson to unpack his wild journey before founding Key Nutrition. Jenson shares the WHY behind his current 9 years of sobriety and the turning point where he decided to either get sober or commit suicide. Health & Fitness was always a key component of Jensen's life. Ever since he picked up his first fitness magazine at age 14, Brad knew his purpose was to understand all aspects of nutrition. He became a NASM & ACE certified personal trainer and changed the course of his life. This episode of the Chase The Vase Podcast is epic! My guest is a professional nutritionist, father and part time comedien. Brad has walked the stage as a professional body builder and knows how to transform. Brad is a full time coach. His goal is to help men and women change. Nothing is off limits with Brad. He is open about his path to sobriety. He was brought up by loving parents who did everything they could to help him find sobriety. They even financed thier home to send him to rehab. Brad's rock bottom was always cushioned by a loving mother who wanted to love the addiction right out of him. Finally, there came a point in his addiction, that his parents withdrew support and stopped enabling his behaviors. It was at this point that Brad realized that he needed to change and get help. Brad shares his relationship with his sponsor and how accountablity became his mantra. He quickly realized that "accountability is the crutch that makes it happen." Brad believes that most people fail to be consistent long enough to reap the huge rewards. "Don't give up before the miracles happen....they are coming." This is true in the nutrition and recovery. His story will give you hope! We invite you to spend time listening to this podcast. If Brad's story resignates with you, we invite you to share, like and subrscibe .
