This week arrives with intensity woven through the skies. Mars in Taurus opens the story by locking into a powerful challenge with Pluto in Aquarius, stirring deep tensions around control, desire, power, and the need for change. What's been simmering beneath the surface may suddenly demand attention, and the atmosphere feels charged with both confrontation and transformation. Midweek, the energy deepens as the Moon enters mysterious Scorpio and immediately activates the Mars–Pluto dynamic, adding emotional intensity, intrigue, passion, and hidden undercurrents to an already potent cosmic landscape. This is not light energy — it's revealing energy. The kind that exposes what's been buried and asks us to face it honestly. At the same time, Venus in Cancer forms a challenging connection to Saturn in Aries, bringing greater complexity to relationships, emotional needs, boundaries, and vulnerability. Matters of the heart may require maturity, patience, and deeper clarity about what truly feels safe, nourishing, and sustainable. But by week's end, the skies begin to open. A luminous Full Moon in Sagittarius rises like a torch in the darkness, reminding us that life is still meant to be lived, explored, celebrated, and experienced fully. After a week of emotional depth and intensity, this fiery Full Moon invites us to laugh, reconnect with possibility, and remember the bigger picture. It's a week of powerful emotions, revelations, relationship dynamics, and ultimately, release and expansion — and you can hear all about it on The Golden Astrologer Podcast. ✨

A deep dive into the astrology forecast for May 2026, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock. We spend the first hour talking about the astrology behind news and events that happened since our last forecast, and then in the second hour we get into the astrology of May. The month opens with a peace-shattering Mars-Jupiter square around May 4. At the same time there is a very intense Pluto station on May 6, which highlights themes of power and control, but will also mark an important turning point with respect to ongoing technological and social transformations over the past few years. Speaking of technological transformations, in the middle of the month a newly ingressed Uranus into Gemini will make its first conjunctions with Mercury and the Sun in Gemini, which will initiate and accelerate new technological advancements in communications and transportation, while also promising some unexpected disruptions and surprises. The middle of the month also features some mildly pleasant sextiles between the Sun and Jupiter and Mercury and Jupiter on May 10 & 12, as well as a sensual Venus-Mars sextile around May 18. Later in the month things become more tense, with a destructive Mars-Pluto square around May 26. Fortunately the very end of the month closes out with one of the most positive and auspicious alignments of the year starting to form in the sky, as Venus and Jupiter form a conjunction in Cancer that will culminate in early June. In Episode 154, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield glide onto the rink with U.S. Olympic Ice Dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates to explore the celestial mechanics behind their powerful partnership. Analyzing Madison's chart first, we see a Sun/Venus conjunction in Cancer—a powerful combination that brings artistry, charm, elegance, and a profound sense of belonging. However, a Venus/Uranus opposition introduces an element of unpredictability, suggesting unconventional dynamics in relationships and a flair for excitement in her creative expression. Additionally, a Moon opposing Saturn points to a potentially structured upbringing, followed by deep emotional maturity in adulthood. Turning to Evan's chart, the spotlight falls on a sensitive and dreamy Pisces Sun conjunct the North Node. While this placement often shies away from the limelight, it indicates that public recognition is woven into his life's purpose. His Libra Moon, fair-minded and partnership-oriented, thrives in collaboration, while a Venus/Mars/Jupiter square reveals a powerful and insatiable drive for connection. When read together, the synastry between the two skaters is striking. Their sextile Moons suggest domestic and social harmony, while a trine between their Suns points to mutual support and a healthy lack of competitive ego. A shared Sun opposition to Saturn and Neptune brings both clarity and tenderness to the relationship. Meanwhile, mutual Mars/Pluto oppositions fuel their edge and ambition on the ice. Still, astrological tensions remain—can a Pluto square to Venus bypass the jealousy and control often linked to this aspect? Tune in to discover whether this dynamic duo can claim the gold with Venusian grace. Book a Reading with us! A look ahead at the astrological forecast for February 2026, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock. We spend the first hour talking about the astrology surrounding news stories that happened in January, many of which coincided with a rare triple conjunction of Venus, Mars, and the Sun, as well as the Mars-Pluto conjunction that happened later in the month. Then in the second hour we do a deep dive into the astrology of February. The astrology of February is extremely busy and momentous, and includes Uranus making its final direct station in Taurus, eclipse season beginning with a solar eclipse in Aquarius, Saturn entering Aries and then immediately completing a conjunction with Neptune, Mars squaring Uranus, and Mercury going retrograde in Pisces. In Episode 150, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield tackle the iconic partnership of Sonny and Cher through the lens of their birth charts. We begin with Cher's chart, revealing a fierce Cancer Rising with a hard shell. Her Moon in Capricorn and Saturn in Cancer reflect a strict, harsh upbringing, exemplified by her time in a Catholic orphanage. With Mars and Pluto in Leo in the 2nd House, she possessed the powerful ability to rise from the ashes, while her Sun in Taurus fueled her drive for tangible stability—famously crystallized in her mantra, "I am a rich man." Sonny Bono's chart shows a partner-oriented Libra Rising. A Venus in Pisces opposed by Neptune idealizes love, explaining his four marriages. However, a Mars square Pluto and opposition to Uranus reveals an exacting, rebellious, and volatile side. Combined with his Sun and Mercury in Aquarius, this indicates a personality that insisted things be done on his own terms. Together, their synergy is clear. They share a rare and exciting aspect between their chart rulers, where their individual life paths fully supported one another. A wealth of helpful aspects to her Venus in Gemini gave Cher feelings of value, appreciation, and love—including a trine from Mars, signaling intense chemistry. Tending the First FlameThis week carries the feeling of a true threshold—quiet, consequential, and far-reaching.On Monday, Neptune enters Aries, beginning a long cycle that reshapes how meaning, courage, and responsibility are lived. This is not a dramatic event, but a change in atmosphere. After more than a decade of Neptune in Pisces—marked by porous boundaries, saturation, and confusion about what was ours to carry—the guiding question shifts:Not What am I absorbing? But Where do I stand?Neptune in Aries does not ask us to feel more or imagine harder. It asks for self-location—the courage to inhabit a stance without collapsing into urgency or reactivity. The waters begin to recede. Intention starts to matter again, not as force, but as orientation.Midweek, Mars conjunct Pluto in Aquarius brings collective pressure into focus. This is energy moving through systems—exposing where power has been distorted, coerced, or frozen in place. In Aquarius, the deeper question is not who controls, but how power circulates. What structures support life, innovation, and shared belonging—and which ones are straining past their limits?Aquarius carries an alchemical gift: innovation, egalitarian vision, and the capacity to imagine beyond inherited hierarchies. This is radical change not for chaos, but in service of a more inclusive future.Mercury conjunct Venus in Aquarius offers a moment for clear, values-based conversation. Say less. Mean what you say. Listen for coherence rather than volume. As the week turns, the Full Moon in Leo arrives alongside Imbolc in the Celtic wheel—the ancient marker of returning light. Imbolc does not promise spring; it signals its first stirring. The ground may still look frozen, but warmth has returned beneath the surface. A flame is kept—not to blaze, but to endure. The Leo Full Moon brings heart and creative life-force into dialogue with the Aquarian field. This is the conversation between individual expression and collective good. Not self-erasure, and not self-promotion—but the weaving of unique presence into life-giving change that serves more than oneself. This is not a week for dramatic declarations. It is a week for orientation.Neptune in Aries does not reward urgency or spectacle.Mars–Pluto in Aquarius does not reward force without wisdom. The Leo Full Moon asks not for attention, but for heart.Reflective Questions for the WeekWhere do I sense something wanting to begin, even if it's still fragile or unnamed? What am I no longer willing to absorb or carry forward? How can my individuality serve life-giving change rather than react to pressure?Let this be a week of keeping faith with what has just begun, even if you're the only one who knows it's there.Podcast poem: Eagle Song by Joy HarjoSupport the showGo to Sheila's website for information for transformational resources: https://www.ontheedgesofchange.com/home-page This episode was co-created with generative AI, engaged as a soul-aligned ally in service of transformation. ! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this & more Astro News You Can Use! @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking which drops today, January 23!Ok, so we're in the first quarter waxing stage of the Cap New Moon since January 18, that asked us to stand our ground through group strength--since this lunation had not only both luminaries but Mars & ME in Capricorn trine to UR Rx in Taurus. In addition, all of these planets—the MO, SU, Mars, & ME in Cap—were sextile NE & SA in Pisces. These sexiles provided opportunities to take action to stand our ground by drawing lines in the sand, while the trines provided the wind at the backs of groups doing so.Venus entered Aquarius January 17, & as this lunation began to wax after January 18 the Sun & Mercury did likewise this past week. In addition, we witnessed Venus conjoin Pluto, the Sun conjoin Mercury, Mercury conjoin Pluto, & then a Sun/Pluto conjunction all between January 19 & today, January 23.Essentially this has moved these inner planets—so prevalent during their conjunctions to the Capricorn Sun at the January 18 Capricorn New Moon providing the seed of standing our ground was planeted—into the sign of Aquarius now.So, the message of this month's lunar cycle was to hold fast to our foundational humanitarian beliefs—those shared by large groups of others as that lunation since it trined progressive forward thinking Uranus, still retrograde in Taurus, & sextiled Saturn & Neptune in empathic Pisces. As we watch this lunation's seeds begin to sprout at January 25's first quarter waxing square of the Taurus Moon to the Aquarius Sun—as all of these planets have not only shifted into Aquarius but conjoined with Pluto there—we can see what the “crisis in action” phase of the lunar cycle calls us now to do. And that's resist fixed Aquarian idealistic philosophies that have hardened into ideological beliefs that do not serve the masses. With the normally placid, calm, & change resistant Taurus Moon in square to the Aquarius Sun, Mars, Pluto, Vesta, Mercury, & Venus, we've got massive tension brewing. The Taurus Moon wants to protect its resources—including its physical body--& faces resistance now from those who believe that cutting healthcare resources for its citizens & that tossing out all immigrants in a xenophobic fit will make America great again. As we approach this first quarter monthly lunar phase, the Taurus Moon portends such resistance by citizen groups against those groups who hold such fixed ideologies. For example, those tasked to round up, detain, or even injure or kill anyone who looks or sounds “different” (read: not part of the ideologically-inspired socially acceptable “group”) without abiding by any formerly adhered to legal restraints. This may spark some violent actions—we won't know unless & until it happens—between now and January 27 when Mars conjoins Pluto exact in Aquarius. An aspect that can bring the perpetrator & the victim together in the same place at the same time, Mars/Pluto frictional aspects such as the conjunction can lead to an emotionally volatile & intensely physical kind of energy. An energy where one faction tries to disempower (read: overpower) another. Mars is a physical planet, one that takes action. On one hand martial energy represents motivation, ambition, & self-assertion. On the other, it can go over the top and become overly aggressive, bloodthirsty, vengeful, & violent.Pluto, discovered in 1930 when the U.S. was working on creating the atom bomb, represents explosiveness that can lead to an evolutionary transformation. The Mars/Pluto combo perfecting January 27 portends the possibility of a potentially explosive situation between “victims” & “perpetrators” that might spark a wider conflagration. This may be in evidence as residents begin a massive general strike in Minnesota today. According to Aaron Parnas in The Parnas Perspective: “Hundreds of Minnesota businesses, workers, and students are participating in the “ICE Out! Statewide Shutdown,” an economic blackout urging people to skip work, school, and shopping to protest intensified ICE activity in the Twin Cities—sparked by the Jan. 7 killing of Renee Good by an ICE officer.”“More than 300 businesses [are] or donating proceeds, [with] some schools offering remote learning, and organizers framing the action as a nonviolent show of solidarity with immigrant communities despite major financial losses,” he adds. It's called “civil unrest.” It's happened before in this nation. And it will happen again. The results of such actions remain to be seen, but as Martin Luther King—who's memory we just celebrated this past week—said: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." NEPTUNE RE-ENTERS MARTIAL ARIES JANUARY 27: DISSOLUTION & RECONSTRUCTION?That brings us to the fact that Neptune re-enters the Mars-ruled sign of Aries on January 27. When Neptune entered Aries for the first time in 165 years on March 30, 2025, it conjured up the recurrence of the start of the U.S. Civil War which began the day before Neptune's ingress into the sign of war on April 12, 1861.Saturn follows suit & re-enters Aries February 13, & then conjoins exact with Neptune at 0'45” Aries on February 20. This combination heralds a whole bunch of things, but as these two planets have traveled closely together since last spring, we've clearly seen the dissolution (Neptune) of foundational structure (Saturn), as well as the dissolution of the rules of war (Aries.)That's been obvious since last September when the U.S. began bombing small boats in the Caribbean & the Pacific with no proof that they were carrying drugs headed for the U.S. Hence, it was a violation of international maritime law when shipwrecked survivors were then killed in follow up strikes—rather than captured & interrogated, as per—again—established international maritime law. We've seen the dissolution of U.S. Government structures since the second term of President Trump--one of the most “us versus them” vengeful people hell bent on retribution against anyone who called him on his illegal activities including inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.As this Saturn/Neptune in Aries takes greater hold, we also know that it's heralded the downfall of nations in the past. In 1989, this planetary conjunction was followed by the fall of the Berlin Wall & the decimation of the U.S.S.R. Now, whether it does the same in Iran—or here in America eventually—also remains to be seen. What we do know, however, is that Saturn/Neptune cycle has major implications for the next 36 or so years. Meanwhile Neptune's 14-year transit through a sign means it will remain in Aries until 2038.However, faster moving Saturn transits each sign for approximately 2.5 years. Given that these two will conjoin close to the U.S. natal Sibly chart's IC, or Mars-ruled 4th House of home, security, tradition, the past, memory, & represents this nation's psychological roots, we may well be witnessing the beginning of what's known in traditional astrology as “the end of the matter.”That's because when planets cross the 4th House cusp—in any chart—they begin their upward trajectory, first toward the partnership-oriented 7th House cusp's Descendant & then to the Midheaven's 10th House cusp.Saturn will take seven years from now to reach the U.S. Descendant, then come above the horizon to be more clearly seen, & hit the Midheaven in approximately 14 years. It's then that the reckoning of the past 14 years will become obvious. For more on all of this—including Astro News You Can Use from last week's Davos, Switzerland's World Economic Forum & Trump TACO'g again on his threats to invade Greenland & tariff European nations--as all of those planetary conjunctions to Pluto occurred—tune in @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking starting today, January 23, at 11 a.m. PT & 2 p.m. ET!See you then! OIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS SEPTEMBER 26 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speakingSome astro transits are fleeting but all are part of a cycle—astrology is, after all, the study of cycles! The one that's most prevalent right now is clearly represented by the repercussions of the recent Mars in Scorpio third quarter waning “crisis in consciousness” square to Pluto in Aquarius which perfected on September 24. The repercussions triggered by this Mars/Pluto square are clearly upon us now, especially here in the U.S. Don't forget that when you put Mars & Pluto together—whether its through aspects between the two or aspects between planets in their ruled signs of Aries & Scorpio—you can pretty much be assured the energies are going to be about one or more of the following subjects: money, power, control, secrets, sex, anger, &/or violence. That's why astrologer Rob Hand defines this square in his book “Planets In Transit” as a time that heralds “a serious conflict between individual energies & the energies of a group.” This becomes more obviously prevalent now because Pluto is in Uranus-ruled Aquarius, the sign of groups. “Transit cycles involving Pluto have a strange way of producing total destruction of your own ends if you take illegitimate shortcuts,” Hand continues. However, “the consequences of your deceptive actions will not be apparent until the next time transiting Mars either conjoins or opposes Pluto.” Hand is, of course, speaking of the transit of Mars to one's natal Pluto. However, I have found his description of aspects between transiting planets often to be as accurate in energetic terms as a transit to a natal chart planet. At the least, he captures the essence of the potential manifestation of archetypal aspect combinations be they solely in the sky or affecting the natal. And don't forget astrologer Michael Lutin's teaching that whenever an aspect in the sky echoes one in your individual chart, you will experience a “recurrence” of that energy.I can pretty much guarantee that there are plenty of Mars/Pluto frictional aspects in the natal charts of sexual abuse victims, such as those trafficked by sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein, though there are likely other astrological indications specific to each as well. Anybody recognize how a recurrence of Mars/Pluto energy entered the collective since a number of his victims spoke out about his abuse on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. recently? And how this week's election of a new Congresswoman in Arizona put the Epstein issue front & center back in the news?According to The Hill publication on Sept 25: “Lawmakers in both parties fighting to force the Trump administration to release all the federal files on Jeffrey Epstein took a big step closer to their goal this week. Adelita Grijalva's victory on Tuesday in a special House election in southern Arizona sends another Democrat to Capitol Hill — and secures the deciding 218th signature on a discharge petition designed to compel the Justice Department to disclose the still-concealed documents related to the late child sex offender.”THERE WERE INCIDENTS & ACCIDENTS, HINTS & ALLEGATIONSRegardless, since this Mars/Pluto square—which represents the waning third quarter “crisis in consciousness” portion of the Mars/Pluto synodic cycle which began with their conjunction at 0'46” AQ on Feb 14, 2024—we've seen numerous related incidents that reflect its energies pretty accurately.“Incidents” that cannot be ignored here in America if we are to preserve our democratic system of three independent branches of government which are currently now being dissolved & destroyed under the U.S. Pluto return's ongoing energies, along with that of the current Saturn/Neptune conjunction & its cycle in Aries.Incidents such as U.S. president's statement “I hate my enemies” at Charlie Kirk's funeral, which clearly invites others to do the same. Incidents like governmentally-driven suppression of free speech & the decision by the CDC to recommend Covid vaccines ONLY to anyone over 65 or with a verifiable health issue. And then there's the agency's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) panel vote to restrict children's access to a measles-mumps-rubella vaccine known as MMRV. The panel also postponed a vote on whether all newborns should get the hepatitis B shot. Incidents such as the DoJ's indictment of former FBI director James Comey on charges even the DoJ says won't stick. Incidents such as the FBI dropping its bribery case against the now immigration czar Tom Homan who last year secretly accepted a bag filled with $50K in cash in return for “favors” when he entered government in 2025.Incidents such as learning the Secret Service dismantled a covert telecommunications network spread across five locations in the New York area that contained a system also used to transmit assassination threats against senior U.S. officials during the gathering of the world's dignitaries at the United Nations in New York City this past week. And, neither last nor least, incidents such as the looming U.S. government shutdown on October 1 based on the inability of Congress to do the “Libra thang” & negotiate & compromise to avoid such a catastrophe. Mars square Pluto doesn't compromise, after all…it's about power and those who get hurt in the process be damned…THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALLWe arrived at the first Mars/Pluto waxing first quarter “crisis in action” square on June 11, 2024, & it was July 1, 2024, when the Supreme Court granted U.S. presidents “immunity from criminal liability for…official acts,” according to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU.) Thus began the time of “a serious conflict between individual energies & the energies of a group,” as Rob Hand puts it. On November 3, 2024, the day before the U.S. presidential election, Mars made its first exact opposition to Pluto. Because of Mars' retrograde period, these two opposed again late on January 2/early Jan 3, 2025, & then one more time on April 26 of this year.Rob Hand describes a Mars/Pluto opposition thusly: “If you are tempted to gain control over others, be very careful. Eventually you might find yourself opposed by everyone whom you have ever tried to rule.” Certainly sounds like something that ultimately manifested as the massive “No Kings” protest rallies around the nation, no?Meanwhile, the next time Mars & Pluto conjoin to begin a new synodic cycle will be at 3'34” Aquarius on January 27, 2026. So it's between now & then that we'll be experiencing the waning quarter of this current cycle between the two which, again, denotes a time of conflict between those in power & the energies of a group. The U.S. Pluto return brings us back to the origins (read: birth) of America, which clearly did not happen without a fight. Taxation of the colonists by the British monarchy clearly helped ignite the American Revolution, which began in 1775 & lasted until peace was formally declared in 1783.It then took the colonists' "founding fathers" until 1789 to construct a constitution, create three co-equal branches of government, inaugurate the first U.S. president & seat the first Supreme Court justices. As we look at what's happening now, especially the repercussions of the waning square of Mars in Scorpio to Pluto in Aquarius those who are paying attention can clearly see the handwriting on the wall…The question becomes: Do we want to be puppets on a string, or stand up & fight back? Even if it took something as seemingly superficial as the censoring of a late-night talk show comedian to wake the masses up, it nevertheless sparked a revolution against suppression of our democratic rights. The waning portion of this Mars/Pluto cycle advises: Don't let that spark die as the winds of suppression try to snuff it out… Tune in to all of this & more Astro News You Can Use starting today @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speakingincluding the upcoming September 29 first-quarter lunar monthly square & Mercury in Libra's cardinal square to Jupiter in Cancer October 1, as we wax toward the exact Eris/Chiron conjunction in Aries October 9! Initiation rites, experienced at the appropriate times in our lives, burn off what is no longer relevant, opening our eyes to new possibilities of our own uniqueness. They tear off the protective veils of illusion until at last we are strong enough to stand in our own naked truth.” (Marion Woodman from The Pregnant Virgin: A Process of Psychological Transformation)
JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS SEPTEMBER 19 @https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speakingToday's podcast explores that fact that this month's waning third-quarter of the lunar cycle—which leads us to the September 21 Virgo New Moon solar eclipse--has been a time to wake up & smell the coffee that our constitutional rights here in the U.S. are under threat. So, before we even reach this second eclipse in this fall's series--which began with the Pisces Full Moon total lunar eclipse on March 7--we're asked at the end of the monthly lunar cycle to adjust to several realities. Doing so allows us to better recognize what seeds we're being called to plant at the Virgo New Moon solar eclipse on September 21.Since the assassination of prominent right-winger Charlie Kirk on September 10, we experienced the September 13 Sun/Mercury superior conjunction in Virgo. And since then, Mercury has moved ahead of the Sun to become an evening star, meaning he's more prominently visible in the night sky.In turn, this B symbolizes it's now time—between September 13 & November 9 when Mercury once again stations retrograde—for clear observation & rational, logical, organized, & pragmatic thought that leads to ultimately to action.I often point out that my astrological philosophy is that the universe is benign & that it has no interest in making any of us suffer. Rather, it simply provides opportunities every moment of everyday for us to grow in consciousness. And if we don't recognize these moments, the universe doesn't give up!With that in mind, we're tasked right now with recognizing the pain of injustices that curtail the rights of both individuals & groups. And to begin to recognize we must push back against such injustices, or we'll continue to be subjected to additional onslaughts against our rights, such as the right free speech. We've witnessed an outpouring of grief on many different levels since the Pisces New Moon total lunar eclipse & during this monthly lunar cycle's last week. But the main one was the silencing via murder of an outspoken conservative who used religion as a shield to justify his prejudices against those he did not like. The aftermath of his murder brought grief, pain, & suffering to both those who followed him AND those who KNOW that killing someone because of his speech is morally WRONG.And not only wrong, it's unconstitutional, at least here in America. As Kirk's death began to sink in amongst the masses of both his followers & his critics, the powers that be began to curtail the speech of his detractors which has resulted in the stifling of voices such as late-night comedic talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. So what began with an outpouring of pain & grief has culminated in a discussion of how our current political polarization has wounded us—as evidenced by September 16's Mercury quincunx wounded healer Chiron, Venus's trine to Chiron, & Mars' opposition to Chiron.By September 17, however, the pushback against allowing anyone other than conservatives to speak freely began as Mercury in Virgo opposed Saturn retrograde in Pisces on September 17. Mercury then entered Libra & opposed Neptune retrograde in Aries, & trined Pluto in Aquarius September 18. In addition, Venus in Libra quincunxed Saturn in Pisces & the Virgo Sun quincunxed Chiron in Aries then too.GRIEF OVER THE ASSASSINATION OF FREE SPEECHQuincunxes are 150-degree aspects between planets, which makes them so far apart that they do not recognize or “see” each other. Most astrologers agree they are indications that an adjustment must be made. Like needing to turn your head to see what's out of your immediate range of peripheral vision, a quincunx alerts us it's time to look both ways before proceeding. In this case, as these quincunxes begin to register, they are waxing us toward this next solar eclipse. Mercury also trines Uranus & Pluto, Venus enters Virgo & quincunxes both Neptune & Saturn, squares Uranus, & quincunxes Pluto. In addition, the Virgo Sun opposes Saturn in Pisces, & ALL of these aspects occur between September 18 & September 21 in the lead up to the upcoming solar eclipse. Instead of parsing each of these individually, let's simply analyze what's occurred in the collective as we reach the end of this month's lunar cycle, shall we? What we have in fact seen--& are in fact experiencing now--is a rude awakening to the extremes that divergent political stances can bring. Even to the point where ignoring—or worse yet, excusing--gun violence by rationalizing it as a necessary by-product of such polarization because conservatives believe it's an expression of our rights as American under the Second Amendment. So, as we approach the 29'05” Virgo New Moon solar eclipse at 12:54 p.m. PT & 3:54 p.m. ET on September 21, it might then be a good time to engage in meditation, prayer, or mindfulness about what Mercury, the Sun, & the Moon's oppositions to Saturn & Neptune at this eclipse are asking us to do.Again, the collective is mirroring the answer back to us right now, and that is to resist pressure against our constitutional rights, most importantly the right to speak out. On September 15, as we waxed toward Mercury's quincunx & Mars' opposition to Chiron September 16 & Mercury's opposition to Saturn September 17 Pam Bondi, the Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) said the following in an interview posted on Youtube:“There's free speech, and then there's hate speech,” she announced while declaring that federal law enforcement will “go after” Americans for hate speech. The problem? There is, in fact, no hate-speech exception to the First Amendment. The First Amendment in the U.S. Constitution says the following: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”The fact is that the First Amendment was set up by America's founders to restrain the government, not individuals. In other words, the Supreme Court has parsed out in many cases what is acceptable under the First Amendment & what is not when it comes to both the government & individuals. Speech inciting “immediate violence” is prohibited under this amendment, but political speech is protected. For more on this--& remember, it pays to know the facts--see: https://constitutioncenter.org/the-constitution/amendments/amendment-i/interpretations/266In any case, it's now time to adjust our thinking as per all of these quincunxes & to push back against these oppositional threats to our constitutional rights—including that of free speech as it exists under U.S. constitutional law. By the time Mercury entered more negotiable & comprisable Libra on September 18, Bondi was forced to “walk back” her words about “going after” Americans for constitutionally protected “hate speech.” TIME TO FIGHT BACKThe other important transits happening around this solar eclipse is that Mars, which moves into Scorpio just before the Sun enters Libra at the fall equinox on Septembers 22, is waxing toward its third quarter “crisis in consciousness” waning square to Pluto in Aquarius on September 24. This podcast explores the history of this Mars/Pluto cycle from its beginning in February 2024 until now, so tune in for more! But basically, in the common parlance of a born & bred New Yorker, the response to Pam Bondi's threats against free speech--& as a trained lawyer & the Attorney General for the state of Florida before being appointed head of the DoJ Bondi CLEARLY knows better—“dem's fightin' words!”All of these oppositions & quincunxes point now to this solar eclipse's culmination. That's because, according to astrologer Ronnie Dreyer, it's energies technically began when the transiting true nodal axis reached the 29'05” Virgo South Node position circa January 22/23 only days after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. In total, the question now is can we plant seeds that lead to the further clear sighted analyzation of what's occurred since January of this year that's blocked us from being protected by established constitutional law? And, can we muster up the energy necessary now to fight back before it gets even worse?U.S. history tells us we can. But it's going to involve leaving behind any confusion about what's going on now, calling a spade a spade, & formulating a pragmatic, logical plan to uphold our rights as Americans. In short, we've done it before & we can do it again, but we must wake up to reality & understand we can't give up without a fight.Tune in to all of this & more Astro News You Can Use, starting today @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speakingSee you then! In episode 505 astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock look at the astrological forecast for September of 2025! We spend the first hour of the episode talking about the astrology behind news and events that occurred since last month's forecast, and then in the second hour we transition into talking about the astrology of September, starting at 53 minutes. This month's news discussion focuses heavily on the themes of peak reality distortion and bubbles popping, which manifested over the summer during the peak of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, and then was accentuated in August when Mars opposed Saturn and Neptune. On a more positive note, we also discuss the auspicious Venus-Jupiter conjunction in August and its connection to the engagement of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. The forecast for September is dominated by eclipse season, which is just getting started as the month begins, with a lunar eclipse in Pisces and a solar eclipse in Virgo. The most difficult alignment this month is a Mars-Pluto square happening around the week of September 24, which coincides with the second eclipse in Virgo around September 21. Other major alignments this month include a Saturn returning to Pisces, Uranus stationing retrograde in Gemini for the first time, and a Mars-Jupiter square. In Episode 132, astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield analyze the synastry between Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Megan Thee Stallion and NBA shooting guard and chapionship winner, Klay Thompson. First, we examine Megan's chart, revealing a Full Moon in Leo, indicating her ability to shift between being a detached group member and a standout star. Her Mars in Leo highlights her strong, decisive leadership and assertive drive, while her Venus in Capricorn demands commitment, structure, and a cautious approach to love compared to her peers. Next, we explore Klay's chart, which also features an Aquarius Sun and Leo Moon—though his Moon is actually eclipsed, amplifying the tension between detachment and being in the spotlight. A six-planet stellium in Capricorn reflects his serious, disciplined, and strategic nature, capable of delaying gratification for long-term success. With Pluto sextile this stellium, his endurance and determination in pursuing goals are unmatched. Together, their shared Sun/Moon combo (though not conjunct) creates a natural familiarity and mutual understanding. Their Venus/Neptune conjunctions heighten their romantic chemistry, making their honeymoon phase intensely passionate. However, a Mars/Pluto square could introduce drama, ego clashes, and power struggles. The question remains: Can their Capricorn energy provide enough stability to build something lasting? We also look ahead to Saturn's shift into Aries and unpack what that transit means for anyone entering a Saturn return, or any other significant Saturn transit. We rant. We reflect. We keep it real. In episode 122 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield examine the synastry between newlywed couple actress Kristen Stewart and screenwriter Dylan Meyer. The two first got engaged in 2021 then on April 20th, 2025 they held a quiet wedding! Both were born and raised in Los Angeles and share a few more interesting similarities! First, we look at Kristen's chart and see a dualistic, intelligent, and quirky Gemini Rising. From there we move to her strong and intense Aries Sun, independence is important to her! However, with a Full Moon in Libra, we know that lessons in fairness and compromise are paramount to her life's story. We also get a Neptune square to both Sun and Moon, telling us there can be confusion around her personal identity and tendency toward over sensitivity. Next, we read Dylan's chart and see another fiery Sun in Sagittarius with a Full Moon in Gemini! This creates a knowledge centered, sharp minded, and active individual. We also see a Mercury/Moon opposition, indicating that sometimes her words come out too impulsively while an intriguing Mars/Pluto conjunction shows an intense and extremely determined side to her personality. Together, their synastry is striking! Not only do they share several of the same planet relationships natally, like Full Moons, Mars/Pluto, and Venus/Neptune aspects, they also share powerful synastry with each other. We loved seeing their trine Fire Suns and a loving Venus sextile. There is certainly "twin" energy here (further proved by a Gemini Moon conjunct a Gemini Ascendant) and also a general level of vitality and value systems that blend well together. A Venus/Mars tells us of their immediate attraction, but can a Mercury/Mars/Pluto opposition drop down their Venus score? Listen in to find out! Book a Reading with us! In episode 120 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on often controversial Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. This couple has the greatest age gap (25 years) that's ever been analyzed on the show! First, we read Hilaria's chart and see a determined and success-seeking Capricorn Sun. With a sextile from Saturn, it's not a suprise that she started a yoga studio franchise while she was still in college - she has a natural apptitude for business! Noticing her intense Mars/Pluto conjunction there is likely a ruthless and extremely powerful side to her as well, while her Aquarius Moon shows a friendly demeanor and need for community. Looking at Alec's chart, we see an assertive and strong-willed Aries Sun with a sextile to Mars, making him extremely direct and passionate about everything he does. We also see both Mars and Venus in Aquarius, telling us he likes his relationships to be built on friendship and to also have a rebellious and slightly detached nature. Although, an intense Venus/Pluto opposition speaks of control and jealousy issues when it comes to relationships. Together their Cardinal Suns square each other, which inidcates ego clashes and fighting for the spotlight. They also have a tight Venus/Mars trine in air signs which gives them huge points when it comes to genuine physical attraction and intellectual chemistry. Adding a sensitive Venus/Moon conjunction reveals deep affection and comfortability with each other. Can their age gap work thanks to the rare Pluto sextile? Listen in to find out! In episode 488 astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock look at the astrological forecast for May of 2025! May opens with the tense Mars-Pluto opposition separating but still in close alignment, and this gets reactivated when Pluto stations in Aquarius and the Moon swings in and acts as a trigger at various points. Venus returns to Aries where it retraces its steps and begins the process of fully winding down its long retrograde period, and Mars is similarly finishing up its broader retrograde cycle as it makes its way through Leo. The most important transits this month is that Saturn moves into the sign of Aries on May 24, and this marks the beginning of a three year transit through this sign, where it will meet up with Neptune this summer and early next year. The month ends with an auspicious stellium of planets all meeting up in Gemini, which provides us with one of the best electional charts of the year. We spend the first hour of the episode talking about the astrology of news and events that have occurred since our last forecast, and then in the second half we transition into talking about the astrology of May. An intense transition period is underway as the 3rd Mars-Pluto opposition occurs on April 26 at 3 deg 48, which creates a Fixed Grand Cross with Black Moon Lilith and the Sun in Taurus. Heightened polarization, violence, and extreme positions are prominent, yet it is up to us to tap into our multidimensional powers to choose a higher expression that supports empowerment, creative breakthroughs, and connecting with an emerging truth. The discomfort reveals a timeline collapse, and that breaking patterns are right on time. The Taurus New Moon at 7 deg 47 brings in a focus on grounding, peace and internal harmony on April 27. Venus makes final conjunctions to the NN and Saturn in Pisces, strengthening her self-love as she then re-enters Aries on April 30. A wild end to the month! Mars in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius this weekend. We've experienced this aspect already back in January, 2025. You might be drawn back into a passion or problem that you experienced at that time. That concentrated Mars/Pluto energy can bring about intense fire and conflict. This opposition brings power dynamics to the forefront and calls us to consciously explore them so they don't take over our experiences. This week, Venus teams up with Saturn and both make inspiring connections with the Moon's North Node. The normally mellow Taurus New Moon is disrupted by power struggles, as the Sun squares, and Mars opposes, Pluto. And (appropriately) a listener question about scary Pluto transits. Timestamps [1:12] Saturn conjuncts the North Node (April 21, 4:31 am PDT) at 26°50' Pisces, on Sabian symbol 27 Pisces, A Harvest Moon. This is the first conjunction between Saturn and the North Node since September 2013. You might succeed in a way that you have envisioned and hoped for, but sometimes the success comes in a form you never could have imagined. [2:28] Venus conjuncts the North Node (April 23, 9:35 pm PDT) at 26°54' Pisces. This transit can indicate that close friends or partners are helping you achieve success. [3:00] The Sun squares Pluto (April 23, 10:10 am PDT) at 3º47' Taurus-Aquarius. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold; Pluto is on 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer. Claim your importance, and let go of anything that you no longer need. [5:26] Venus conjuncts Saturn (April 24, 5:02 pm PDT) at 27°13' Pisces, on Sabian symbol 28 Pisces, A fertile garden under the Full Moon. This concludes a Venus-Saturn series that began on Jan. 18 and repeated on April 7. Are you any clearer about what you want in relationships and in the way you earn your money? [7:53] Mars opposes Pluto (April 26, 6:05 pm PDT) at 3º48' Leo-Aquarius. The usual interpretation of Mars with Pluto has to do with power struggles and dealing with forces beyond your control. What matters most in these situations is how you handle powerlessness, anger, and frustration. Mars' Sabian symbol, 4 Leo, is A man formally dressed and a deer with its horns folded. Pluto's Sabian symbol is sometimes written as, A Hindu Yogi demonstrates his healing powers. [10:18] Moon Report! The Taurus New Moon is on April 27 (12:31 pm PDT), at 7º46' Taurus. The Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus, so this is one of the most powerful New Moons of the year. But the Mars-Pluto opposition makes this a little more of a tumultuous New Moon. Taurus is ruled by Venus, so enjoy the sensual aspects of life. The Sabian symbol for this New Moon degree is 8 Taurus, A sleigh without snow. [13:29] This New Moon begins a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that unfolds over the next three years. Make a careful note of what your intentions are, what you would like to achieve in your physical health, financial abundance, and sense of security. Jan. 25, 2026 is the First Quarter Moon (first action point) of this LPFC, the Full Moon (awareness point) is on Oct. 25, 2026, the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on July 26, 2027. [15:34] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On April 22 (2:55 pm PDT), the Moon in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus. It's VOC for 7 hours 12 minutes, then enters Pisces (10:07 pm PDT). Step out of your safety zone to do things on your own. [16:40] On April 24 (7:57 pm PDT), the Moon in Pisces conjoins Venus. It's VOC for 4 hours 27 minutes, then enters Aries on April 25 (12:24 am PDT). Enjoy all of the Venusian things life has to offer, but don't go overboard. [18:11] On April 26 (9:18 am PDT), the Moon in Aries sextiles Jupiter. The Moon is VOC for 14 hours 59 minutes (!!!), then enters Taurus on April 27 (12:17 am PDT). Share the good things that come your way and offer encouraging words to other people. [19:18] Listener Pomahoba asks about scary Pluto transits. Saturn (Responsible One) and Venus (Relational One) conjoin in Pisces to complete a cycle that started in mid-January. It's time to implement what have you learned in the last 3 months about how to be appropriately responsible to your values in relationships and with how best to spend your precious life energy. Plus both Venus and Saturn are conjunct the North Node in Pisces catalyzing you to own your capacity to make the calls in your life. Chani recommends: "commit to the projects worthy of your energy. Say no to everything else."Mars (Action-Taker) in Leo opposes Pluto (Transformer) in Aquarius challenging you to courageously show up in your sovereignty to embrace deep systemic changes that support all beings. We're switching into action mode over this week as Mercury re-enters Aries and Mars re-enters Leo, and then both interact with the emerging idealism of Neptune in Aries at 0 degrees. New dreams and high understandings are more personal as a powerful reset is offered right now. Own your transformation and spiritual growth. The Sun enters Taurus on April 19, which is the transition from the inspired action of Aries into the practical application into a realistic form. The Sun in Taurus squares Mars in Leo (0 deg) and Pluto in Aquarius (3 deg 47) into next week, intensifying where change is needed because we are meant to bust through old paradigms and patterns right now - especially the most uncomfortable ones. This week's astrology focuses on how we can reclaim parts of ourselves that have been disowned or distorted via unconscious processes. There is a strong theme of action, enthusiasm, expression, and also strong activation. This week's astrology includes:- Mercury moves into Aries (and will conjunct Neptune in Pisces & sextile Pluto in Aquarius): Quick thinking, inspired talks, rapid insights, a shift in your perception around issues that have been uncertain or ambiguous for the past month or two. Watch for changes in your dreams, thoughts, & daydreams - and what they may be saying to you now.- Mars moves into Leo (and will oppose Pluto in Aquarius & trine Neptune in Aries): Excitement! Enthusiasm to act, share, express, and be creative in ways that are deeply meaningful to you. Possibly compelled to get something off your chest. Connecting to your power, vitality, courage, and desire to fight for what's important to you.- Sun moves into Taurus: Conscious focus on rooting in, developing and stabilizing. Finding meaningful experiences via the material and sensory world.- Sun-Mars-Pluto t-square: This is a dynamic, energizing, and enlivening combo! It may be quite activating and spur you into action or bring up strong emotions. Possibility for unconscious patterns to arise around power, manipulation, shame, or control. Notice what activates you and give your feelings space to exist. Also symbolizes things like occultism, deep emotional healing, and underworld journeys that bring you closer to your true self.- Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius: Emotional connection to the deeper more intimate parts of yourself and your authentic nature. Deciding what you want to focus on now that is most important to you.- Juno Asteroid (retrograde) moves back into Scorpio: Reconnecting with your inner resilience - especially around issues of intimacy, bonding deeply with other people, and how you move through the varied challenges of long-term commitments. Juno in Scorpio is about the dance between distance and closeness in relationships; and how we can feel safe enough to be vulnerable and depend on others.Wishing you a week of ease, security, and safety
