The Faction Election War Won (22)  (Audio) Foreign Usurpers Replaced Vanessa Weeks - end of January 2020 (David’s notes in red)   I had this short dream. I saw a Chinese man in a wooden canoe on a lake.(Representing the foreign usurpers in state and church, the DS, the CCP supporters, and Church Factions on the waters which represents the peoples, tribes, nations, and tongues.)  He was wearing a straw hat and had no shirt on. (Straw hat representing The mind of the works of man that will be destroyed.  No breastplate of righteousness, their flesh is being revealed in the declass.)   He had only black shorts on. (Their walk is in darkness and is being seen because of nakedness.)  He was paddling with a black paddle on a still lake. (The lake water can also represent the curse of the word on the peoples and the canoe their flimsy man made effort to live above this.)   All of a sudden, directly over him came a deluge of rain, on him and his canoe only. (This is a judgment of the water of the word from heaven specifically targeting these evil entities. As we have seen in dreams, visions, prophecies, and words, the factions will be targeted by God by P-X and their own plague.). This rain was very powerful and knocked him out of his canoe (And into the curse of the word on sinners).   At the same time, another wooden canoe came up to him from the right. I knew his only chance of safety was to get into that canoe. (This is the offer of salvation from the right to these sinners to repent and come into the Kingdom of God, which is above the curse of the Word.) I knew in this dream that he was Chinese, and I don't remember having a dream of a Chinese person before. (It has been the Chinese Communist Party that has been financially supporting the MSM, DS, and tech giants to bring Communism on the world.) When I woke up, I thought of the freedom coming to God's people in China (As the CCP is destroyed and the Chinese Republic comes their will be freedom in China and many parts of the world they control.).  I asked the Lord for a word about this, and received by faith at random Isa 22:17-23  (I added 15-16). Isa 22:15-23 Thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, who is over the house, and say,  16  What doest thou here? (Identifying a foreign usurper in both Church and State that God is identifying.) and whom has thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out here a sepulchre? hewing him out a sepulchre on high, graving a habitation for himself in the rock! (Now Father is focusing on the wicked leadership in the Church. The rock here means they think they belong in the rock, the body of Christ, the Church) 17  Behold, Jehovah, like a strong man, will hurl thee away violently; yea, he will wrap thee up closely.  18  He will surely wind thee round and round, and toss thee like a ball into a large country; there shalt thou die (The curse of death in the water of the Word to those who God will "cast forth into outer darkness".), and there shall be the chariots of thy glory, thou shame of thy lord's house. (Representing the Red Sea destruction for the usurpers)  19  And I will thrust thee from thine office (Like Judas, Korah, Saul, Haman, etc.); and from thy station shalt thou be pulled down.  (Father is going to remove the evil leadership over God’s people who are infected with Babylonish religion to replace them with His reformer leadership as in Eze 17 where the apostate leadership was taken captive to Babylon and replaced by the reformer leadership which Deb received by faith at random this morning.  (Eze.17:22) Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also take of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain: (This is the Man-child reformer ministry, that replaces the apostates in this chapter, here on Mount Zion, the Bride.)   (23) in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of the branches thereof shall they dwell. (24) And all the trees of the field shall know that I, Jehovah, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done it.  Jer 3:15  And I will give you shepherds according to my heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. Back to our Isa. 22 text: 20  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim (Meaning: "Whom God will raise up". The spiritually resurrected Man-child body) the son of Hilkiah ("Yah’s portion", His elect for this job):  21  and I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand (The reformers in Church and State come); and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.  22  And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; and he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. (A key binds and looses. These will come with the authority that Jesus the Son of David gave - “What you bind on earth is bound in heaven and what you loose on earth is loosed in heaven”.) 23  And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a throne of glory to his father's house. This scripture makes me think the Lord will come as a strong man to knock the CCP and usurpers down. (Yes, the DS, CCP, and Church usurpers, who didn't come through the door who is Jesus, will be judged and replaced.) This replacement of the usurper authorities over God’s people with the reformer ministry of Jesus as the Son of David is a type of this repeat of history in our day.  Joh 10:1-14  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (He was speaking of the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, and their types in leadership today.) 2  But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. (Jesus taught that to those who overcome by abiding in Him and His Word He will give authority.)  3  To him the porter (The Holy Spirit) openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  (These reformers will lead the sheep out of the apostate sheepfolds)  4  When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.   5  And a stranger (foreign usurpers) will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.  6  This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.  7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.  8  All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.  (They stole, by degrees from men, a position of authority over the sheep, which they were not given by God.)    9  I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.  10  The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.  11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. 12  He that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth them:  13  he fleeth because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.  14  I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, I asked the Lord about this dream and received by faith at random, Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (As the Former rain power of the Holy Spirit came first upon Jesus the Son of David so the Latter rain power of the Holy Spirit will come first on the Man-child ministry in whom Jesus lives by Word and Spirit. As Joel prophesied in Joel 2:23  Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God; for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first month. When the people of God passed through the Red Sea and were about to enter the wilderness, representing the Tribulation in Rev 12 and 17, they were baptized in the cloud which represents the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. As history always repeats, a great revival is coming after the Red Sea destruction of the usurpers where God’s people will receive the former rain, which the great majority have never received. This anointing set Jesus and now the Man-child body apart so that people would listen to their words from heaven. Also it is shown in the Acts 1 text that even though His disciples received the very best training straight from the Word Himself, they were not sent out solo until they had received the Holy Spirit Baptism. Anyone who goes without this anointing is a usurper and hireling.  Act 1:4-5  and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me:  5  for John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence.)     Hi-gh Te-ch Hitlers Claire Pienaar 1/2/21 (David’s notes in red) Who is it that has put all the usurpers in office. The MSM puts DS politicians in takes the good ones out.  They have colluded with the fake vote scam to put criminals in office and Hi-gh Te-ch has silenced all dissenters. Here is a word from the Lord on this. The Lord gave me the following word by faith at random:  Luke‬ ‭6:49. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great. Here's the dream - I think it might be a warning for everyone in the body. Since praying the "Warfare Prayer” that David gave us, God has revealed the enemies to me and He will continue. And I will continue to be obedient to warn the body. We are in a war. We should not cross enemy lines.  I dreamed I was watching a man do a zoom conference. There were many people watching this zoom conference, but I could not see the other people’s faces. This man was answering questions from someone. He had pale skin, black eyebrows, a little black mustache and his hair was black and combed into a severe parting. As he spoke, his face was changing right in front of me. I was so intrigued, I leaned in closer. Then his face became the face of a hi-gh te-ch mogul. Although, he looked more 2-dimensional than 3-dimensional (maybe because the demons have completely possessed his spirit and soul so now he's only an "earth-suit" for them). As this happened, I realised the previous face was that of none other than Adolf Hitler.  (Hitler deplatformed the Jews just as the the te-ch giants have deplatformed the Christians with the same ultimate purpose, to kill them. Will the body of Christ be crucified by the hi-gh te-ch enemies through unbelief in the salvation God is sending us through the Tr-ump administration? In the waiting time for Trump to go back in office many are falling away.  Pray for them. I got a threat of death from one of them because I believed Trump to be Cyrus who is going to finish his job of destroying Babylon DS.)  I looked around me to see if anyone else had seen this transformation…. But I was alone with my screen and could not see the other participants. Hmmm. The spirit of anti-Christ seems to have taken that man over, just as it did with the men from the 1930s who took the world into a war. The verse I received by faith at random this morning did not seem to make much sense, but then, when I remembered my dream, it did. I received Jer 43:4, in context Jer 42:8-17: So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, to dwell in the land of Judah. The name Kareah comes from the verb קרח (qarah), meaning to be bald:  Excerpt from: Abarim Publications' Biblical Dictionary קרח  The verb קרח (qarah) means to be, become or make bald. Adjective קרח (qereah) means bald. Nouns קרחה (qorha) and קרחת (qarahat) mean baldness.  This is interesting because in my dream the high tech mogul was bald (his hair was shaved right off like a convict). (Yes, a convict)  There is no glory in participating in a beast system. (In 1 Co 11 hair is a sign of glory and submission to the Lord.)   A Usurper Donald Trump Imposter in the Leftist House Andrew Gelinas - 1/16/21 (David’s notes in red) In reality I rent a house, but in this dream I was in an apartment. Just like adjoining rooms in hotels, the left hand wall to this apartment had a closed door that could access my neighbor's apartment. (A wall between you like the left, where Jesus put the goats, is separated from the right.)  In reality, this neighbor lives to our right, and I have never been successful at making his acquaintance, though I've attempted several times in the past year, but eventually gave up when he seemed to purposefully avoid me.  Come election time, I noticed he and his wife had put up a Bi-den Ha-rr-is sign in their yard.  (An antichrist leftist, which explains why the wall is between you and why he chooses not to company with a Christian.)  In the dream, I would meet him for the first time and it was very pleasant. At one point, I remember shaking his hand, and telling him, "Just let me know if there's ever anything you need." Then, as if the dream started over, I met him again and again, but each time was slightly different than the last.   In one of these sequences, I had entered his home (to see how the left lives)  when it appeared he was away, only to discover he was completely submerged under water in a large bathtub in the middle of the living room. (Like the waters of Noah, this represents the curse of death to the wicked.  The wicked are judged and die by the waters of God’s Word. They were life to Noah because he submitted to the word and death to the rest who refused the word.)   Later, while still in my neighbor's apartment, I was attempting to play an arcade game that was set up by the front door. It seemed to be geared toward a preschool audience.  (Because of the demons on them, the games they play are stupid to everyone but them.). The arcade game featured all kinds of animals like Noah's Ark or Old McDonald's farm. (They worship the beast)  I became confused when the game started up, but the screen was rotated completely on its right side. (The leftists play the game that Trump is an extreme right winger and doesnt have the balanced perspective of him.)   As I tilted my head to match the screen's ninety degree angle, Donald Tr-ump appeared to walk in through the front door to my left. (It is dangerous to try to see things the way they see things.  This is how the demons are imparted. The left is where Jesus put the rebellious goats.)  As he walked right past me, I perceived that it wasn't the real Tru-mp, but a woman in prosthetics made to look exactly like him. (If we see things with this perverted view we will accuse Tru-mp of being exactly what we are, perverted. The leftists are accusing Tru-mp of doing exactly what they are doing.)   I began to exclaim to my neighbor "That's a woman! That's not really Trump!” (In the leftists house D.T. is perverted not them. We just had a President and “wife” that were perverted and another trying to take his place that is perverted.)  I also pointed out that the imposter was wearing a blue tie. (The color of the left on the voting map.) Shouting "Look, he never wears a blue tie!” (A leftist giving a wrong perception of Tru-mp.) And that's the last detail I can remember.    Confess the Word Before Men or Fall Marie Kelton - 1-12-20 (David’s notes in red) Many Christians walk by sight and not by faith concerning what is happening in the government. Father has told us clearly that he is testing His people and the righteous will live from faith.  Faith is the substance of the thing hoped for while the evidence is not seen.  If we give Him the substance He will give us the miracle.  The evidence will be seen. Faith is believing what God says over what we see with our eyes.  This is why many never receive answers to prayer. Tr-ump is the only man on the face of the earth who has followed in the steps of Cyrus to conquer the Babylon DS. He is the only man who has uncovered and repatriated the many tons of hidden treasures from darkness that they stole from the people over many years. Treasures taken from the queen, the pope, and the DS underground; are more than any individual has had since the world began. Isa 45:3  and I will give thee (Cyrus/Trump) the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that it is I, Jehovah, who call thee by thy name, even the God of Israel. Let the naysayers walk by sight but you confess the Lords word before men or lose it. Here is an exhortation from the Lord on this. I had an open vision during the morning meeting at Denny and Debbie's house. I saw Jesus kneel on the floor.  He was dressed in an all white high priest garment from the Old Testament, He was wearing a white turban on his head. Jesus bowed down all the way to the floor and I knew He was praying to the Father about something. (Jesus is the High Priest of our confession). (With our confession as a sacrifice of our flesh, He can go to the Father as our High Priest.  If you confess me (Jesus, the Word) before men I will confess you before the Father.   … and the angels).   Then, Jesus's clothing changed, He no longer had the High priest garment on. (Without our confession and that garment He couldnt go before the Father for us to confess us before Him to receive our needs.  And we need special grace right now.). He had on a white linen robe. Jesus was kneeling on the floor with His head hanging low, like He was in agony and I knew He was praying to the Father.  (He is sad because so few are continuing to believe what the prophets have said and that their prayers are answered. HE commanded us in Mar 11:23-24  Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain (This was Mt. of Olives, the mount of Babylonish abominations), Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it.  24  Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  (Our faith confession before our High Priest should be, Thank you for answering our prayers Lord, that we have received this grace from you to have Satan and his house cast out of our government, Church, and country.) This verse came to me about this.  Luk 22:41-44 And he was parted from them about a stone 's cast; and he kneeled down and prayed, saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (Jesus was and is being rejected by His people who fail to walk by faith in what He said concerning what He will do in these days.) And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground. (He suffers for our failures. Heb 6:4-12  For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,  5  and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,  6  and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.   7  For the land which hath drunk the rain (the Word) that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: (Those who hold fast to His word will bear fruit) 8  but if it beareth thorns and thistles (The curse on the fleshly rebellion), it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned.  9  But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak:  10  for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.  11  And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end:  12  that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Believe the Word to the end or you will not inherit the promise.)   Some people are not confessing that Tr-ump will finish the job of Cy-rus.  They believe Bi-de-n will go in to stay. If the People of God don't “Hold fast the confession of their hope that it waver not for He is faithful that promised” they risk the judgment of the unbelievers upon themselves. Many will die in the plagues and quakes and not partake of the 4 more years Trump will be in office. If they believe Bi-de-n will stay in, they should understand this would bring the war against the saints sooner and kill a lot of Christians.

Bible Reading: Acts 5:1-11Joel chewed his fingernail. He hated writing; nothing worthwhile ever came from his pencil. But the assignment was to write a true story about a pet and be prepared to read it to the class. The only pet Joel ever owned was Flash, a boring goldfish. Goldfish don't do tricks or play fetch, he thought, so what is there to say?The hot, stuffy classroom seemed unbearable, and Joel let out a sigh. Guess I'll have to make up a story, he decided. How about a pet alligator? Picturing his classmates' envious looks when he read his alligator story, he scrawled ALLIGATOR on the top of his paper and stared at it, chewing another fingernail. But even alligators couldn't jolt his imagination. He squirmed in his seat, then got up and sharpened his pencil. As Joel lifted his pencil to try again, some words seemed to float across his paper. "Each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor." Joel blinked. Those words hadn't actually been on his paper; they were from a Bible verse he had memorized. Joel sighed. Could God be telling him his alligator story would be a lie?Joel stared at his title, then turned his pencil upside down to erase ALLIGATOR and replace it with GOLDFISH. I'll write a true story--even though the kids might laugh, he decided. This time the words flowed. Joel wrote about how he won the goldfish at the fair and named it Flash. He told how he took care of his fish and how bad he felt when Flash died. Then he wrote his name at the top of the page and sighed, this time in relief. Maybe my story sounds dumb, but it's true. And when Mr. Wright called on him, Joel stood tall as he read the story aloud. After class, Eddy fell in step beside Joel. "I had a kitten once," Eddy said. "Named her Midnight." Eddy stared at his feet. "A car hit her--she died.""That's terrible," Joel said.Eddy nodded. "I don't usually like to talk about it." He looked at Joel. "Was it hard to tell your story about Flash?" "Yeah," Joel said. "It was at first." He smiled at Eddy, glad he had told the truth instead of an alligator lie. Dorothy SkinnerHow About You?Are you ever tempted to lie so others will admire you? Or to get out of an unpleasant situation? Today's Bible reading is an account of the severe and immediate consequences of lying. It's meant to show you how serious lying is. Telling lies destroys the trust others have in you. How can you show people the love of Jesus if they don't trust you? By telling the truth, you're pointing others to the truth of Jesus.Today's Key Verse:Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor. (NIV) (Ephesians 4:25)Today's Key Thought:Tell the truth

Never Leave Love Out of Leadership with Joel Manby, Ep #5  Over a 25-year span, Joel Manby has not only been the CEO of 4 different companies, he also wrote THE book on love as a leadership practice in the workplace. In part one of my interview with Joel, we touch on his roles in the automotive industry, Herschend Family Entertainment, and SeaWorld. You’ll want to hear how all of these roles helped shape the ideals he outlines in his book, Love Works. Joel had a humble upbringing in Battle Creek, Michigan. He attributes athletics with helping to shape his teamwork and leadership skills. His parents’ stress over financial issues also helped form his outlook on money and career. He realized that while money was not everything, he wanted to make sure he never suffered the same kind of financial stress in his adult life that his parents had. Listen in to find out how his early life led to his amazing career and ultimately to the writing of his book! Highlights from this episode Joel’s life purpose. [3:37] One of the most important lessons Joel learned at Harvard. [12:38] Why Joel believes in taking managed risks. [13:02] Joel’s early experiences with balancing family life with work. [17:18] How theme park experiences provided the framework for his book. [19:55] From Saturn to Saab After realizing that professional baseball was not going to work for him, Joel decided to go to Harvard Business School on a deferment program and received the Sloane Fellowship — a real honor at that time. Joel experienced a pivotal moment when at Harvard that helped him with his professional life. He started at Harvard with a feeling like he didn’t belong. He ultimately became the class clown but says his solid thinking, among other things, is what won over time. Gradually, he learned a lesson that will be valuable for many students and young entrepreneurs today. Join us to hear the funny anecdotes Joel shares that tell the story of his business school career! In exchange for his tuition at Harvard, Joel worked for General Motors after graduation, helping them start Saturn Corporation. From there, he moved to Saab, where at 34, he was the youngest general manager GM had ever hired. Joel was able to help turn the brand around and grow their sales by 65% and help each exclusive Saab dealer increase their sales by a whopping 200%! It’s a truly fascinating story you will not want to miss! From autos to theme parks As Joel’s professional success kept growing, so did his responsibilities within the organization. It took a toll on his home life. He knew something had to change. A series of events led to his departure from Saab to a startup, which he relates may not have been the best decision. This experience taught him to count the cost before you move from one wrong situation to another. Make sure you are going TOWARD something and not just AWAY from the situation you are in. During this time, Joel was also on the board at Herschend Family Entertainment and was recruited to be Jack Herschend’s replacement as CEO. Joel had already been feeling what he described as angst — he felt there had to be a better way to lead. He felt certain there was a way he could mix faith with his job but he had not seen any models for that. While on the board at Herschend, he saw there actually WAS a different type of leadership, one driven by caring — or leading with love, as he calls it now. You’ll want to hear the story of this major turning point in his career! From theme parks to book author Joel credits the Herschend Family with being the role model he was looking for. He was able to focus the rest of his career on leadership with love. Love, in this case, is not the emotion but the verb. It’s our behavior — trust and respect and dignity even in the face of frustration.  Joel says it is unbelievable the transformation that can happen when you put as much focus on love as on financials. The notion many corporations have is that love is a feeling — that it’s too soft and won’t work is incorrect. He believes that love as a BEHAVIOR brings out the best in people and in profitability. In fact, when Herschend put the Love Works principles in place, employee engagement levels rose over 45 to 50%! Joel says he has seen both ways of leadership — in fact, he’s lived both — and he knows which one works. Listen and learn some of the fascinating stories in Joel’s life that led to writing his book! If you give me just 2 seconds I'm going to blow your mind.  Love and Monsters is going to be your favorite movie of 2020. There I said it.  Admittedly, it's not mine. But it will be yours.  That's because it's TIED for my favorite movie of the year with Spontaneous. Which, I realize it cheating, but there are no rules around here. First a bit about Michael Matthews… I have no idea how old Michael Matthews is, but what I'm coming to find is that by the time you're making great movies in Hollywood, you're more than likely just-about my age.  I pressure test this by dropping breadcrumbs for them to disclose their favorite movies.  If they say something like, The Machinist, I'm thinking "hmmm good taste, but favorite?"... if they something like (500 Days of Summer), again I'm thinking "Cute, but you're wrong" and if they say Inception, I just assume they're 15 years old and know nothing of cinema and I hang up on them. Or they're Rob. But let me tell you what happened, I dropped my breadcrumb.  Matthews throws out Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and that's when I knew.  We were going to be best friends forever (don't tell him, he doesn't know yet) and that he's probably 37-ish. Michael Matthews is a South African director whose feature Five Fingers for Marseilles, won the award for best film at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. His film also received 10 nominations, including awards for best film, best first feature film by a director and best cinematography. The film was also nominated for Best Achievement in Directing - Feature Film at 2017 South African Film and Television Awards.  For his role in the production of Apocalypse Now Now, a short film based on the book of same name, Matthews won best short film at the 12th South African Film and Television Awards. We'll get into the movie in a sec, but Love and Monsters is a massively well-crafted movie.  However, to hear Matthews talk about the movie, it would seem that it's something we could all do.  Just a few drawings here and a few ideas there and POOF... you've got yourself a blockbuster. I of course know this to not be true, as it takes me 45 minutes to put together a 30 second video for social media. Matthew really was a treat to talk to so we hope you enjoy hearing about the making of Love and Monsters as much as we did! Now Love and Monsters I've already told you that it's going to be your favorite movie of this year, so that's probably a bit of a spoiler.  And don't go being one of those contrarian people (like me) who says they don't love it just because I told you, you would. Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there’s nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite the dangerous monsters that stand in his way. Now onto the monsters. A movie can be made or broken on the quality of its monsters.  Matthew says they're not meant to be fantastical. But sorry, they're fantastical.  They're glowing and beautiful and edgy and scary.  To hear Matthew talk about how the conceptualized these beasts is something you can really feel in the film. The other real highlight is the casting of Dylan O'Brien, as somebody you probably know from his tough-as-nails character in Maze Runner, seeing him as this tender, insecure guy who is trying to find himself is a mental shift. Paired with the hilarious script and O'Brien's comedic timing, we were laughing the whole way through. Supported by, Ariana Greenblatt, Michael Rooker and Jessica Henwick, the cast felt entirely complete. Let this trailer wash over your face... https://youtu.be/-19tBHrZwOM Love and Monsters is available on streaming October 16th and we can't recommend seeing it enough!

Since Zephaniah's birth eight weeks ago, he has required medical support and has been surrounded by love and prayers. As Joel reflects on these events he naturally reveals his deep gratitude to God for all that he has experienced, both in times of challenge and in moments of joy. It is an unfolding story of gratitude as he speaks of God's ongoing presence, guidance and love. The episode will conclude with some final reflections on this gift of gratitude and its close relationship to joy. "It is not joy that makes us grateful. In this episode of the Regenerative Agriculture Podcast, John interviews Joel Salatin, a well-known lecturer and author and the co-owner of Polyface Farms in Swoope, Virginia. Polyface Farms is a “diversified, grass-based, beyond organic, direct marketing farm”. Joel is well-known for his highly engaging public speaking style and is the author of twelve books relating his experience as a self-described ‘lunatic farmer’. In this episode of the podcast, we visit the challenges of mainstream, conventional agriculture through Joel’s paradigm-shifting lens, and learn why farmers are beginning to shift to a regenerative model. Joel also describes how farmers can learn the skills of marketing, communications, and public speaking, and broaches the uncomfortable topic of planning for farm inheritance and succession.  Joel’s worldview, informed by both real-world experience and immersion in a broad range of literature from philosophy, history, and religion, to current events and business, forms the foundation of his farming practices. Joel states that deep soils were not built with 10-10-10 chemical fertilizer, but rather built with real-time solar energy converted to carbon and vegetation that rots or is eaten and manured in place. Joel describes why he does not believe such organizations as McDonald’s or Monsanto are evil, but rather thinks they have misguided beliefs concerning ecological systems and food production. Most often, employees at these organizations truly believe they are helping the world. While their understanding of agricultural processes is wrong, they are not ill-intentioned. The ability to understand the opposition is an important skill Joel developed in high school debate tournaments that helps him to build bridges with those who see agriculture differently than he does.  Joel and John discuss how most farmers desire to better their land and none have the intention to degrade the soil. Yet, many farmers continue to practice mainstream agriculture with its soil-degrading effects. Joel explains that for farmers to change their practices, often they need to face a crisis. He describes how the symbol for “crisis” in Japanese is the same as the symbol for “opportunity”. He sees crises as an opportunity for farmers to move towards more productive, regenerative practices. Joel also describes how we can elicit broader societal change to where regenerative farmers are viewed as the heroes within their communities. The benchmark of success most used in farming is yield. Farmers also consider equipment and infrastructure as benchmarks of success. Joel’s take is that neither of these are a determinant of financial success or farm profitability. He relates an anecdote from his early years when his father, a tax preparer for the neighboring farming operations, mentioned that their own threadbare family farm was more financially stable than those farmers with large and fancy equipment and expensive facilities.  Joel believes the mantra that farmers must feed the world is a fallacy that encourages detrimental practices and unsustainable agriculture. The coronavirus pandemic has sharply defined the need for communities to be able to feed themselves and has placed a spotlight on the drawbacks of the current centralized system. Joel describes his belief in an intelligent creator who has loaned the world to us as an investment. In his words, no investor would accept dead zones, pollution, and species extinction. Thus, it is our responsibility to improve the land and help it become more fertile year after year. Seeing the world as an investment helps people to treat it well rather than deplete its resources for unsustainable growth.  The dysfunction of the current system is evidenced by the statistic that small-scale agriculture produces 70% of the global food supply with 30% of the inputs while the other 30% of the food supply is produced using 70% of the inputs. Joel makes the distinction that the size of a farming operation is not a determining factor in how regenerative or sustainable that farm can be. Rather, the sustainability of a farm can be rated on how centralized the operation is. He describes the growth of Polyface Farm as growth by duplication, rather than centralization. Although his farm is considered a large farm by the USDA, it has a small-farm feel partly due to his method of decentralizing 100,000 chickens in 300 field shelters on pasture rather than concentrating them in two giant poultry houses. He considers the ecological carrying capacity of the land when expanding, ensuring the land can absorb the livestock manure. Decentralized systems are much more resilient and much less smelly than concentrated, centralized systems. Although he cannot predict the future, Joel is certain that building healthy soil will stand the test of time. He emphasizes that an agricultural system of the future must be integrated, regionally focused, and full of complex relationships, and that it will be human and soil oriented.  Joel describes the profitability of growing corn versus a grass-fed beef production. Land that grows 100 bushels an acre of corn would produce grass that could support 400 cow days per year. He calculates that, no matter the price of cattle, there is approximately $300 per acre net profit for grass-fed beef, a profit never realized by corn farmers. However, very few of the farmers have actually shifted their production. That is because it is difficult for humans to make such a large change and admit to themselves that a new method could be better than their current practices. Farmer’s identities are based around what they grow and how they grow it, so it is very challenging for change to occur. The truth, though, is that farmers must adapt or die. It may require a new generation of farmers for the needed change to happen.  Joel raises the uncomfortable topic of farm succession. Estate planning is especially difficult for farmers due to their love for the land. The average age of a farmer today is 65, so about 50% of America’s farmland will shift in ownership in the next 15 years. At the same time, there are many young people hoping to enter the sector. While Joel has explored ways to connect young people with aging farmers who are looking for a successor, he also enforces the value of low-capital and mobile systems to help young people get started. The average American farm has $4.00 of depreciable equity for $1.00 in annual gross sales. At Polyface Farms, this ratio is $0.50 to $1.00. This more nimble style of agriculture requires no land equity, as mobile systems can be placed on land not owned by the farmer. Low-capital systems are becoming very important as young people gain the necessary experience, skills, and knowledge to start up a successful farming venture.  The practice of equal inheritance of farmland is a concept Joel discourages. His view is that farmland should be inherited by the person who has been stewarding the land. When the child who stayed home and held the farm together is given an equal inheritance with their siblings who pursued other careers, they must buy out their siblings to keep the farm which is an unfair burden. These conversations often don’t happen, but they are necessary for families to have. As Joel jokes, “Why should I die on my tractor so my kids can run off to Las Vegas with my money?” This episode is a long conversation examining the importance of being well-informed and focusing on soil health and profitability above yields. Listen to gain a better understanding of the future of agriculture and what it will take to get there.  Resources: Joel’s Bio

We are so glad to be back again. We feel like I've been on a little bit of a hiatus. And we're sure you have been as well while dealing with the COVID virus. With episode I'm back with my co-host Joel Gagne. We sometimes podcast together on different topics that we see our clients and school districts face. This is part one of a two part conversation. We're talking specifically about the Coronavirus on your communication to your school district. And we're discussing what schools are dealing with during this pandemic shutdown and its effects. Communication matters. Tonality matters.  Semantics matters. As Joel states, "...if you have a financial adviser and you're looking at your retirement account, one of the first things you always sit there and say is diversity, diversity, diversity. If you want to make sure that you that you're going to be stable, then your stock portfolio needs to be diverse. The same is true with communications." You just cannot rely on one communication platform or one way of communicating with your community. School districts have got to be reaching non-parents. They're taxpayers. They're the ones who are underwriting this school district. To maintain a level of credibility with them, you need to be able to explain the value proposition in what you're doing and how you're doing it. In part 2, we talk to about what's ahead, and how to effectively continue communications with your school community.  We Love Schools is a podcast produced by Joel Gagne & Carole Dorn-Bell that highlights and investigate success stories in school communications campaigns. Through interviews with today’s educational and communication leaders address the issues, obstacles and best practices of communicating with your community in today's all-access social media-driven world.

Joel Ong is the creator of the Expert to Authority coaching program for business owners to use their smartphones to make videos work for their business in 90 days (without having to hire a professional costing thousands of dollars).   “We have more processing power in our mobile devices than what Armstrong had in his spacecraft the first time he went to the moon.” Joel Ong   Worst investment ever Fueling his Instagram influencer dream Joel wanted to be like the travel influencers on Instagram and wealthy business owners that he saw traveling the world first class. However, he didn’t have the money or the influence to do it. He just didn’t have the confidence to be an influencer of any sort. But, Joel truly wanted this life, so he thought of all the ways he could achieve this. He figured that he could pick up the camera and influence from behind it instead of in front of the camera like the other Instagram influencer. This started Joel’s journey into travel videography. A humble beginning Joel started with a very cheap imitation of a GoPro camera that he borrowed from a friend in China. Slowly he started living his dream to be a travel influencer by collaborating with models and travel photographers. Doing it as the stars do As Joel interacted with famous influencers in the industry, the pressure to get sophisticated video equipment got real. He wanted to be like the rest of them, and so he invested thousands of dollars in video equipment. Joel bought better lenses, better lighting, a stabilizer gimbal, and more. His travel backpack got heavier and heavier. As Joel continued to travel the world more with his new equipment, he realized that something was still missing. Now he needed to improve his skills as well. So Joel paid a lot of money for several online courses. He thought that this would get him fame and glory quickly. In the end, after spending so much money, it didn’t work. Joel learned that besides proper equipment and courses, he needed to put in the work to get to the success he wanted. Lessons learned The key to success is to focus on simplicity Everything that works is simple, but it takes execution and work. Simple is not necessarily easy. Don’t expect a magic formula to find success; you’ve got to put in the work, trust the process, and go through it. Shift your thinking If you do not see any success, then you need to start doing things differently because, like Einstein said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” So shift your thinking. Decide what you’re prepared to lose Before you invest, think of the worst-case scenario. If it doesn’t work out or it underdelivers, what’s the most that you can afford to lose? When you think of investing in that way, then it makes everything very clear. Invest in your skills too People who are very good at their craft have a very high level of expertise that allows them to get a lot of returns from it. If you don’t practice your skills consistently, you’ll become poor in your craft. Andrew’s takeaways Keep it simple It’s easy for anyone to complicate things, but not everybody can make things simple. Things tend to move towards complexity, particularly in business, and it takes a lot of effort to keep things simple. But make an effort, because simple works. Successful people know there’s no magic formula There is no shortcut to success. The secret of success is to go through the work. If you take shortcuts, you will pay for it in some way. Actionable advice Decide if you are going to be 100% transparent, honest, and accountable with yourself. The key to success is to commit to put in the work and get it done regardless of any circumstances or challenges. No. 1 goal for the next 12 months Joel’s goal for the next 12 months is to get his private coaching program Expert to Authority out to the market and more people. The program is based on all the best investments that Joel has made before. The program will take you from just being an expert or business owner to a brand authority using video in only 90 days. Humor writer and journalist Joel Stein has kept me laughing for over twenty years with his brilliant columns in Time magazine, the LA Times, Entertainment Weekly, and more. With his hilarious and insightful new book, In Defense of Elitism: Why I'm Better Than You and You are Better Than Someone Who Didn't Buy This Book, he's got me nerd-crushing on his battle to wrestle back honor to the intellectual elites from the populists. In it, Joel, a self-confessed elitist, travels to a conservative small town in Texas to find out what's going on in the minds and hearts of the county with the highest percentage of Trump voters to impart a little wisdom their populist way. Instead, he becomes a translator of sorts, for both sides. As Joel writes, "Populists believe our complex society is so secure that disaster is near impossible no matter who is in charge. Elites know it's not. Most of our [elitist] work is calculating risk and planning for contingencies. We invented reinsurance, and if you give us a few years, we'll come up with re-reinsurance."Joel and I are liberals, in case that's not abundantly clear. But my Republican friends laughed as hard as I did while reading this book. (Yep, in a courageous, or incredibly stupid move, I force-read chapters to them, and as you'll hear, they still like me. In fact, I think they think I'm a little cooler now.) It's no secret there's a great divide happening in America, but not around my campfire. Joel's book is so smart and entertaining that I just had to bring him here on the show. You're welcome, humanity. Find out why legends like Walter Isaacson, Jimmy Kimmel, and Dave Barry rave about this book—and also, what Joel thinks about getting your famous friends to rave about your book. (Omg. This week’s guest is a very old friend of the Warrior’s Way, Joel Portman, a graduate of Warrior Week 17 and Warrior Week 41. Together, Coach Sam and Joel share a very special story that includes tragedy, obstacles, miracles, and angels. Parable #1: Uncovering Lies Joel’s first encounter with Warrior was a video where Garrett looked straight into the camera and asked, “Why do you lie?” It was a ‘deer in the headlights’ moment for Joel which activated a sense of awareness of his unspoken lies. This pivotal encounter led him to attend Warrior Week #17. Joel had been lying inside of his relationships which was hurting the people he genuinely loved. This was uncovered during Warrior Week and Garrett helped him discover the lie under the lie under the lie: Joel is afraid to get close to someone. QUESTION What lies have you recently uncovered? What has changed?   Parable #2: Going All In At the time of entering Warrior #17, Joel was involved in two relationships: one actual relationship and another that he let people believe he was in, even though he wasn’t. After Warrior, he was able to clean that up, make a commitment to go all in with his actual relationship which caused it to flourish. And then the unexpected suddenly happened. Before this time, a woman with whom he had been in a relationship passed away from brain cancer. As she neared the end of her life and was in an unconscious state, Joel was able to experience some divine moments with her, filled with a lot of emotions, some regrets, and commitments which he has since kept. QUESTION Describe a pivotal moment in your life.   Parable #3: Obstacles & Tragedy Years passed, things started falling apart, and Joel found himself knocking at the doors of Warrior Week 41. The pain that was uncovered was the guilt Joel felt about not going all in sooner than he did with the one who passed away suddenly. He eventually came to a place where he felt like she went home and he was still here to finish the work they had started. Joel has encountered and felt her presence numerous times, which has turned him into an entirely different man than he was during Warrior Week 17, and the man who continues to evolve through obstacles and tragedy. QUESTION What keeps you going in the face of obstacles and tragedy in your life/? Parable #4: Hannah Years ago, when Joel and his former wife began having children, their two daughters were born with cystic fibrosis. The girls were treated and taken care of, and everyone was very optimistic about their future. Somewhere down the road, due to the nature of the disease, the possibility of a lung transplant loomed in the future. Fast forward to the Fall of 2018. Joel’s daughter, Hannah, is in the hospital awaiting treatment and her husband texts Joel out of the blue informing him that things have suddenly gone south and that if he wants to say his last good-bye’s, he’s got to come immediately. QUESTION What do you do when you’re faced with unexpected news?   Parable #5: Miracles & Angels Hannah was stabilized and put into a medical coma. As Joel was having a conversation with her, he saw a tear form in the corner of her eye and was so happy they had made a connection. But when her oxygen levels started to go down, it became an “oh shit” moment as the alarms went off and doctors scrambled to get her stable. Through a series of determining factors, Hannah was placed at the top of the list for a lung transplant, something that had been on Joel’s radar since her childhood. But time was of the essence and what they needed now, more than ever, were some miracles. QUESTION Describe the moments when you have experienced miracles and angels.   Parables from the Pit: “When you feel chosen, certainty kicks in and your mission becomes very clear; your logic goes away and your emotion cannot fight it.” —Sam Falsafi “Make your spouse and children feel special. Just in time for Father’s Day we have a great conversation with Joel Fitzpatrick, a pastor and author, who encourages dads (and moms) to have gospel-focused conversations with their sons. “There’s power in having conversations with your kids that opens up your relationship. It’s a freedom that gives your kids a safe place to talk to someone. But then it also gives you the ability to speak God's truth into their lives.” We talk about the barriers that keep us from going deep with our kids and how to fight back against the fear and complacency that can become commonplace. Joel also shares how Jesus is the ultimate picture of biblical masculinity and how to be an emotionally safe parent for your son or daughter. “We need to be very careful with our emotions when our kids come and they confess their sins to us. When your son comes to you and he's been angry, you need to be careful not to respond in anger, but to respond with love and with kindness and with using your strength to provide a place of safety.” This is an episode that would be perfect to share with your spouse and the dads in your life. Joel shares a lot of truth for both moms and dads about how we can stay actively engaged with our kids and keep the gospel message at the forefront. For more on this topic, Joel has a new book out called Between Us Guys. Also, my recent podcast with Vicki Courtney [Ep 239] has some more great information on having deep conversations. Joel is off hanging out with famous basketball players so Carl and Tiny Mike are left to hold it down. As Joel is off with the Toronto Raptors, Carl and Mike talk about how they handle themselves around celebrities. Do they stay composed? Do they even care about meeting a celebrity or famous athlete? And from that, would they want to be a celebrity themselves? With the seasons changing, Carl and Tiny reminisce about what makes fall such a great time and compare and contrast the weather between their two cities. Speaking of summer, Summer Girls by the Lyte Funkie Ones (LFO) has arguably the weirdest lyrics of all time. Ever. All time. Ever. The guys explore what exactly is going on in the song, including, but not limited to: - What year does this song take place? - Why does Chinese food make him sick? - Has anyone ever been romantically persuaded by Larry Bird? - What rhymes with hornet? They also look at the adventures of Kevin Durant on Twitter and discuss the likes and dislikes of athletes on Twitter. News 9-28-17 Security camera to help police ID rabbit thieves https://www.nyoooz.com/news/chennai/797219/security-camera-to-help-police-id-rabbit-thieves/ Summary: "The two thieves took some time to select fully-grown rabbits , the largest in the enclosure," the officer said. "There may have been someone else involved who sent the juveniles to steal the animals and took them from the thieves. "The culprits walked into the research unit and pulled the rabbits out of their unlocked enclosures," an investigating officer said. "After the research assistant reported that the rabbits were missing, the head of the institution, Prof H Gopi, lodged a complaint with the Guduvancherry police. "They may have been involved in similar thefts earlier, perhaps the stealing of pet animals whose owners did not contact police. Police said a security camera near the enclosure had captured two juveniles as they stealthily filched 11 Russian Chinchilla rabbits and five New Zealand white rabbits from the research lab. Midwest BunFest: Rabbit fundraiser keeps growing http://www.thisweeknews.com/news/20170918/midwest-bunfest-rabbit-fundraiser-keeps-growing Midwest BunFest has found a home. The annual event for a nonprofit organization that seeks to find homes for abandoned pet rabbits will return Oct. 14 to the Northland Performing Arts Center, 4411 Tamarack Blvd. Midwest BunFest hopped from venue to venue for a while, but Ohio House Rabbit Rescue founder Beverly May said she’s pleased to see the event, which is vital to the organization’s survival, has hit on the perfect location. “Our biggest fundraiser is Midwest BunFest,” said May, whose organization is headquartered at 5485 N. High St. in Clintonville. She said the Northland Performing Arts Center probably is the permanent home for the annual celebration of all things rabbit. “They’ve just got the manpower to make it happen,” May said. “We’re very thrilled that we can be stationary for quite a few years.” Kent Stuckey, Northland Performing Arts Center board chairman, said the nonprofit is grateful to organizations such as Ohio House Rabbit Rescue for helping to pay for operating expenses at the building that is home to Vaud-Villities and Imagine Productions. “The center was founded with a mission to, while serving primarily central Ohio community arts organizations, to also be a community center,” Stuckey said. “We’ve got many community organizations that are dependent upon the facility for their operations, their meetings, their big, major events.” Along with fundraising efforts like a bowling event and an annual road race, Midwest BunFest helps raise awareness about Ohio House Rabbit Rescue, said May, who founded the organization in 2009. Ohio House Rabbit Rescue provides shelter for pet bunnies given up by their owners, as well as offering services to rabbit owners. This year’s Midwest BunFest will continue traditions set in previous years, said Ohio House Rabbit Rescue volunteer Adrienne Lang of Powell. “I think we’re kind of a well-oiled machine now,” she said. “We know what works and what doesn’t.” BunFest topped 1,000 in attendance for the first time last year, Lang said, and 250 bunnies also were on hand. “The growth we’ve seen in the past few years is incredible,” said Shanleigh Brown, marketing coordinator for Midwest BunFest. “It’s great people-watching and you get to see the bunnies.” Rosie Wendt of Upper Arlington, another rescue organization volunteer, said she attended the first Midwest BunFest shortly after getting her pet rabbit in 2013. “It was good to hear people who know much more than I did, and probably still more than I do, talk about what typical behaviors should be,” Wendt said. The Northland Performing Arts Center provides space to community organizations based on their ability to pay rent, Stuckey said. “There are a number of recurring events that we really depend on that are particularly productive so we need to prioritize the recurring events that help us keep the doors open and keep the lights on,” he said. “I would emphasize from a business perspective, this is only to meet operating needs. We don’t need to pay a mortgage. We don’t need to pay a lease. We’re just striving to cover operating costs. Essentially, this is a community asset.” The Midwest BunFest will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.   Pet events: Haunted trail, goat yoga and wine and rabbits http://www.post-gazette.com/pets/2017/09/22/Pet-Events-Haunted-Trail-Goat-Yoga-and-Wine-and-Rabbits/stories/201709230006 Wine and Rabbits Meet rescue rabbits looking for a home and enjoy wine, cheese and fruit from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 30 at The Pump House, 880 E. Bini, the Holland Lop rabbit, claimed the Guinness World Record for most basketball slam dunks in one minute by a rabbit by dropping a tiny ball through a miniature hoop seven times within the time limit. "Having Bini become part of the Guinness World Records family is an incredible feeling, especially since I used to read the annual books when I was a kid," owner Shai Asor said. Asor said he passed his love of basketball onto the 5-year-old rabbit after watching Bini repeatedly push a ball into a box. He then realized he could train Bini to place the ball in a hoop and helped the rabbit practice his dunks every night before bed. In addition to his athletic talent, Asor said Bini is a talented painter that can also style hair.   Rabbit breeders urged to hop online for welfare survey Anonymous survey from the universities of Nottingham and Winchester aims to establish the methods used to care for the UK's 1.5 million pet rabbits. https://www.vettimes.co.uk/news/rabbit-breeders-urged-to-hop-online-for-welfare-survey/ The Rabbit Breeder Project aims to shed light on how the lagomorphs are bred for sale into the UK pet trade. ‘Keen to know more’ Launched by researchers from The University of Nottingham School’s vet school and the University of Winchester, the project aims to paint a picture of animal welfare in the UK rabbit breeding industry by asking breeders to fill in an anonymous questionnaire regarding the methods they use. Nottingham vet school master’s degree student and project lead Emma Gurney said: “I have a personal interest in this subject as I love rabbits and have four of my own at home. They are increasingly popular as pets, particularly with the new trend of house rabbits that can even be trained to use litter trays. “We are very keen to know more about the extent of breeding for sale in the UK as it is pretty unregulated.” Question time The survey asks breeders basic questions such as: the numbers of breeding rabbits they look after how many ‘does’ and ‘bucks’ they keep what daily feeding routines are how many rabbits – and what breeds – they breed and sell the type of housing environments they are kept in No regulation According to PDSA, rabbits are the third most popular pet in the country, with an estimated population of 1.5 million rabbits, yet very little is known about how they are bred for sale into the pet trade. Zoologist and supervisor on the project Naomi Harvey said: “There are laws about the breeding and housing conditions of laboratory rabbits in scientific research, but our investigation so far has found no legislative guidelines or regulation in rabbit breeding for the pet industry.” The online questionnaire will be available until 31 January, with the project results submitted to Royal Society Open Science.   Frightened Rabbit have released a new video for ‘Roadless’ Posted On September 22, 2017 Words: Sam Taylor http://www.upsetmagazine.com/news/frightened-rabbit-released-new-video-roadless/ Last week, Frightened Rabbit surprise-dropped a new EP called ‘Recorded Songs’ – and today they’ve shared a video for one of the tracks. ‘Roadless’ features on the new three-track effort alongside a duet with Julien Baker called ‘How It Gets In’, and fellow new song ‘Rained On’. Scott Hutchison explains: “We’re proud to present the video for ‘Roadless’ to you all today. For the film we teamed up with one of Scotland’s most talented young animators, Ross Hogg. Ross has managed to unlock a layer of beauty with this, painstakingly etching into found footage to create a delicate and poignant animated film. We hope you enjoy watching and listening.” The EP follows on from latest album ‘Painting Of A Panic Attack’, released just last year, and a standalone track called ‘Fields of Wheat’ which they (unsurprisingly) released around the time of the general election. Stanislaus State Announces Rare Rabbit Joins National Geographic Photo Ark of Endangered Species http://goldrushcam.com/sierrasuntimes/index.php/news/local-news/11299-stanislaus-state-announces-rare-rabbit-joins-national-geographic-photo-ark-of-endangered-species A tiny cottontail on the edge of extinction has gained a foothold on forever, thanks to the Endangered Species Recovery Program (ESRP) of Stanislaus State and the National Geographic Photo Ark project. The riparian brush rabbit, whose numbers had dwindled to perhaps a few dozen, has been spotted worldwide since Sept. 7 on a National Geographic video post that has received more than 1 million views on Instagram. Photographer Joel Sartore’s images of the light gray bunny, with its distinctive pouchy cheeks, have joined 7,000 species captured for posterity. Sartore founded the Photo Ark so “that people will look these creatures in the eyes, and be inspired to care, while there is still time.” More than an effort to document the planet’s biodiversity, he and National Geographic seek to spur innovative efforts to save threatened species and raise funds for conservation, including through the #SaveTogether campaign. The suddenly famous brush bunny, tagged #0956 after the photo shoot, modeled for Sartore after being coaxed from underbrush on a scorching summer weekend by Patrick Kelly, ESRP coordinator and zoology professor, and Stan State students Celia Tarcha and Rachael Devaughn. “He only weighs about 1 pound, and lots of other critters would like to eat him. That’s why they have the name brush rabbit. They hide out in dense brush,” Kelly noted. The little lagomorph rarely strays more than a few feet from cover. It was once common in parts of the Central Valley, but farming and suburban sprawl reduced its habitat, and predators, including feral cats, decimated its numbers. In cooperation with private land owners and state and federal agencies, Stan State’s Endangered Species Recovery Program successfully bred captive rabbits from 2001 to 2013 and reintroduced those furry families into the wild. Today their descendants live in growing colonies on San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge and conservation partner lands, including the Faith Ranch. The effort got a helping hand from the largest contiguous riparian habitat restoration program in California, which introduced thickets of willow, wild rose and blackberry favored by the diminutive mammal. “When I was a small child reading National Geographic at my granduncle’s house in Galway City in the west of Ireland, I never dreamed that someday I would be working with a National Geographic photographer on a project,” Kelly said. Now he looks forward to doing so again. “ESRP biologists and students have worked to save many species over the past 25 years. I am hoping that Joel Sartore will return to California in the not-too-distant future to photograph some of our other threatened and endangered species: the riparian woodrat, San Joaquin kit fox, San Joaquin kangaroo rat, Mohave ground squirrel, blunt-nosed leopard lizard and many more,” Kelly said. “We need all the help we can get. As Joel says, we need people ‘to look these creatures in the eyes, to be inspired to care, while there is still time.’ ”     © Copyrighted
