While trying to crack the code of instantaneous teleportation, he recklessly experiments on himself. But when a common housefly gets caught in the machine, the result is an exercise in body horror that only David Cronenberg could deliver. The film, a remake of the 1958 classic, co-stars Geena Davis, who was at the time Goldblum's real-life girlfriend, as the reporter and love interest Ronnie who delivers the classic line, “Be afraid, be very afraid!” The film won an Academy Award for Best Makeup, inspired a sequel and has even been turned into an opera scored by Howard Shore. Technology Minerals PLC (LSE:TM1) chairman Robin Brundle joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with more details after the company's 48.35%-owned battery recycling business, Recyclus Group, secured a significant contract with the Ministry of Defense (MoD). Recyclus has already delivered the first order for its LiBox, a specialised storage unit designed to contain lithium-ion battery fires and explosions. Brundle emphasised the growing awareness of the dangers posed by lithium-ion batteries and the critical role LiBox plays in preventing these hazards. “People's understanding of the dangers of lithium-ion battery fires is very much now coming to the fore,” said Brundle, highlighting that the LiBox adheres to the highest UN and ADR safety standards. The boxes are rigorously tested to contain fires, explosions, and molten projectiles, all while maintaining external temperatures below 100 degrees to avoid further risk. This contract with the MoD is a significant endorsement of Technology Minerals' innovation, and the company is now looking to expand both their sales and rental options for the LiBox. Brundle noted. "We are fully utilised on the numbers of boxes we have out to rental clients, and we're exploring ways to grow the volume." The company continues to focus on expanding opportunities in both government and commercial sectors. Technology Minerals PLC (LSE:TM1) chairman Robin Brundle talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a fire incident that occurred at Recyclus' LiBatt plant in Wolverhampton. Brundle explained that the company's safety protocols worked as planned, and the fire was swiftly contained, with no injuries or damage to other parts of the plant. "The changes we put in from 14 months ago certainly helped again to reduce the length of the problem that we had this morning," Brundle stated, emphasising the company's commitment to safety and the environment. The affected materials will be processed through the recycling plant, ensuring nothing is wasted. While lithium-ion battery fires are not uncommon, Brundle highlighted the company's ongoing learning process in collaboration with fire services to mitigate such risks. In 1984, Martin Brundle and Ayrton Senna made their Formula 1 debuts. They had just fought each other in an epic battle for the 1983 British Formula 3 title. But while there was little to separate the duo in junior racing, their F1 careers panned out very differently. As Senna went on to achieve hero status as a triple World Champion, Brundle's 12-year career was significantly shaped by very serious injuries he suffered in just his ninth Grand Prix. Speaking to Tom Clarkson in the latest of F1 Beyond The Grid's LEGENDS episodes, Martin describes in great detail the crash that caused his injuries, how close he came to losing his foot, and what impact that had on the rest of his time in F1. Brundle also talks about why he and Tyrrell Racing were disqualified in his first season, what it was like being a rookie back then, how Schumacher was different to Senna, where he thinks Adrian Newey's future might lie, his thoughts on F1's global standing, and much more. Phil Carroll and Kevin Hornsby talk to Alex and Robin after the company announced that their subsidiary, Recyclus Group Ltd, has signed a MoU with a cleantech company to develop a low carbon technology for processing Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery black mass, aiming to recover critical raw materials. This collaboration, leveraging a novel chemistry-based technology, promises higher efficiency and quality in material recovery compared to traditional methods. The process, operational within 18 months, will further Recyclus' mission to establish a circular economy for battery metals in the UK. Recyclus, operating the UK's first industrial-scale Li-ion recycling plant in Wolverhampton, is set to enhance the country's battery metal supply security and contribute to the electrification transition, aligning with national goals to reduce carbon emissions. In addition TM1 has secured a £5.5 million convertible bond facility with Atlas Capital Markets to support its sustainable battery metal circular economy initiatives, including the acquisition of Recyclus and expansion of its lithium-ion battery recycling operations. The facility, to be drawn in five tranches starting with £1.5 million, features a 5% annual coupon over the Bank of England base rate and accompanying warrants. This move comes as Technology Minerals addresses a shortfall in a previous facility with CLG Capital, with which it has begun termination proceedings. This strategic financing partnership with ACM underscores Technology Minerals' commitment to advancing its recycling and sustainability goals in the battery metals sector. As a result, Delambre's head and arm are now that of the insect. Slowly losing himself to the fly, Delambre turns to his wife, Helene (Patricia Owens), for help.
