How Labour should (but probably won't) reset after Reform's big win

Pod Save the UK

There's no ifs or buts - Reform had a won big in last week's local elections - but it's not all bad news. Near-total Tory wipeout, positive signs for the Liberal Democrats and Greens and a lesson for Labour: acquiescing to Nigel Farage will only empower him.  A slightly jetlagged Nish and a fresh as a daisy Zoë digest the results before diving into demands to end Israel's occupation of Gaza… Led by, of all people, rebel tories? In the wake of the Netanyahu's latest actions, why isn't the British Government speaking up more?  Later, the pair are joined by climate activist Patience Nabukalu, for an injection of hope following her direct action calling for an end to fossil fuel investment from one of the UK's biggest banks.  **Comment was sought from HSBC regarding claims of dismissing voices at their AGM but was not received in time for publication. Could Verstappen REALLY take a year off of Formula One to see how the new rule changes work?In this video, we dive deep into the intriguing speculation surrounding Max Verstappen's future in Formula 1, sparked by Karun Chandhok's insightful discussion on the Sky Sports F1 podcast. Could the reigning champion really take a year off in 2026 to explore other racing dreams like Le Mans? Despite being contracted with Red Bull until 2028, Max's potential dissatisfaction with the new 2026 regulations and ongoing team dynamics, particularly involving his father Jos, might influence this shocking decision. We draw historical parallels with legendary drivers like Alain Prost and Kimi Räikkönen, who took breaks from F1 and returned even stronger. Max has been vocal about his concerns with the upcoming changes, especially regarding powertrains and active aerodynamics, which he feels detract from the pure racing experience he cherishes. Could these factors push him to step away temporarily? We also discuss how F1's future might evolve to retain its star drivers and whether the sport will adapt to keep Max and others happy. Tune in to uncover the potential seismic shifts in F1 and what it could mean for Max Verstappen's career.
