Models like the Cadillac Fleetwood, Lincoln Continental, and Buick Electra 225 stretched over 18 feet long, offering plush interiors with chrome accents, bench seats, and advanced features for the time. Their long hoods, wide grilles, and tailfins defined the era's bold styling. These cars prioritized comfort, floating down highways with soft suspensions. Gas-guzzling yet glamorous, they symbolized American prosperity and automotive excess. Though impractical today, they remain icons of 1960s luxury and engineering ambition. ----------------------------------------- The 2025 GMC Sierra Denali EV Max Range is a premium electric pickup truck offering an impressive GM-estimated 460 miles of range. The SOS Chronicles with Chris: Suzette Rodriguez case Suzette Rodriguez (alias Maria Cortina), Elmsford, NY: Unsolved for 45 Years Suzette Rodriguez was shot three times in the face at near point-blank range with a .38 caliber revolver in the Westchester County village of Elmsford on October 14, 1977. Charles Lachman of the White Plains Reporter Dispatch wrote that the victim (who weighed just eighty-nine pounds, the medical examiner noted) may have belonged to "a cult prone to violence". Early reports identified Rodriguez, 22, as "Maria Cortina"-the alias she had used when police arrested her on a shoplifting charge in Yonkers the previous July. (Son of Sam shooter David Berkowitz later identified Rodriguez as an acquaintance, and said that he knew her as Maria.) Rodriguez was correctly identified a few days later, and, said Elmsford police chief George McElroy, "We have a possible motive." Bizarrely, Rodriguez was gunned down on the lawn of the house next door to the chief's, and he discovered the body himself. Neighbors who heard the shots, including McElroy, rushed outside to see a white car with a black top speeding away; police said Rodriguez had been shot while standing up, outside the car. That car-a 1974 Buick Electra registered to Rodriguez-was found four nights after her murder, on Morris Avenue in the Bronx. https://carldenaro.com/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/1952225531/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_glt_fabc_S1YN7GGNME77MK7GB6ZC Carl Denaro, Blog at WordPress.com. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/the-front-row/the-sons-of-sam-reviewed-a-netflix-docuseries-confronts-a-true-crime-legend/amp https://people.com/crime/son-of-sam-survivor-carl-denaro-interview/?amp=true https://nypost.com/2021/05/01/son-of-sam-survivor-claims-shooter-was-satanic-cult-priestess/amp/ #sonofsam #DavidBerkowitz #SerialKiller #TrueCrime #SonOfSamCase #Berkowitz #SummerOfSam #1970sCrime #NYCcrime #CrimeHistory #InfamousKillers #SonOfSamStory #UnsolvedMysteries #SerialKillerProfiles #Murderinos #CrimeBuffs #DarkHistory #ChillingCrimes #ColdCaseFiles #TrueCrimeCommunity @sonofsam @CarlDenaro @mystery @cults @ProcessChurch @Themagicalchilde @warlock @wick @magik @witch #witch #magic #JimmyBreslin #DavidBerkowitz #SonOfSam #SerialKiller #TrueCrime #LettersFromKillers #NewYorkDailyNews #Journalism Please follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.com https://linktr.ee/RobRossi Get your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedup And https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/ https://app.hashtag.expert/?fpr=roberto-rossi80 https://dc2bfnt-peyeewd4slt50d2x1b.hop.clickbank.net https://8bcded2xph1jdsb8mqp8th3y0n.hop.clickbank.net/?cbpage=nb Subscribe to the channel and hit the like button This episode is sponsored by ·Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/getting-lumped-up-with-rob-rossi/id1448899708 https://open.spotify.com/show/00ZWLZaYqQlJji1QSoEz7a https://www.patreon.com/Gettinglumpedup

To help Buick move forward, GM filed trademarks earlier this year for Electra E1 through E9, as the company apparently plans a full range of Buick EV models at some point later down the road. Expect a handful of different Buick EVs to be unveiled with the Electra moniker for all the auto brand's electric efforts. A Buick EV crossover was spotted during road testing in China last month, and this prototype seems to be the same - with wheel design and other features appearing identical. Growing up in the shadow of the NYC skyscrapers in a family that did not own a car, a five-year old boy's life-long passion for anything with an engine was sparked by seeing the muffler of a brand new 1964 Buick Electra 225 as it backed out of a stranger's garage. The journey that began that day has transcended decades and the joys and tears of life. The lessons and life skills that were tempered under the hood of a 1971 Plymouth Road Runner were the foundation for two successful careers, and a friendship with me since 1977. I invite you to hear this inspirational story of a life driven by passion.
The 2022 V8TV Drive In Cruise was a success, although a bit wet at times. We were happy to finally fulfill the destiny of having Mike "Q-Ball" Clarke's 1967 Pontiac GTO, Pauls Wieshuber's 1962 Buick Electra, and Kevin Oeste's 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL all at the Drive In event! There were hundreds of cool cars at the show, and it turned out to be a great night. (The ride home was a bit wet!) Paul and Mike had a few minor fixes, but overall the trip went smoothly. Hear all about it, plus some riveting Automotive Trivia questions and much more on the V8 Radio Podcast! https://www.v8radio.com https://www.driveincruise.com #v8radio #carpodcast #musclecars #drivein

Donald Osborne is an opera singer, museum CEO, international business owner and one of the voices of the Concours on the Avenue in Carmel, California. He knows cars and people and the gift of gab. Osborne recently returned from Europe but in plenty of time for Monterey Auto Week. The coronavirus and its variants are in different stages in Italy and England, where he attended globally renowned automotive events. On Tuesday morning, Aug. 10, the proprietor of Audrain Auto Museum in Newport, R.I., was in his usual perch nearly the judging platform on Ocean Avenue, looking dapper in his official blazer, bowtie and Panama hat. Osborne was among four guests co-host Bruce Aldrich and I spoke with him during the first of our three days of days attending Monterey Auto Week. Kim (above) and Rick Franke own a 1960 Buick Electra 225 and showcased at the Concours on the Avenue during Monterey Auto Week. Images © Bruce Aldrich/2021. "This year we are in a different place," said Osborne, a short while before he sang the national anthem. "It's a testament to both the strength of this event and the enthusiasm for cars that people will do what they have to do come and share an event like with other people." The Concours on the Avenue, abiding by amended COVID-19 regulations, required attendees to show proof of being vaccinated or were required to wear a mask. Car owners, officials and car enthusiasts in attendance with proof of vaccination were light blue paper wristbands. Monterey Auto Week: Classic Cars, Classic Owners Show attendees moved through vaccine stations with short lines and with no longer than brief delays. Enthusiastic covid rule compliance was matched only by the enthusiasm for the oxymoron of common rare cars — Ferrari to Porsche — to rarities even unfamiliar to industry devotees in attendance. Bruce and I also spoke with Kit and Rick Franke, owners of a 1960 Buick Electra 225 and David and Pam Hibbert, owners of 1974 Jaguar Type E 4.2 liter. Its Regency Red exterior was as eye-catching as the Buick and its black sheen. Kit and Rick inherited a 1960 Buick Electra 225 and showcased what they call a "land yacht" for the first time at the Concours on the Avenue. The family has owned the vehicle since 1962. A Regency Red 1975 Jaguar XKE Type E 4.2 was displayed at the Concours on the Avenue during Monterey Auto Week. The Buick, 20-feet long, has been upgraded with disc brakes, LED lights and seatbelts. Its exterior black paint is vivid black, a shade making the darkest of dark black enticing. At the opposite end of Ocean Ave. from the Frankes, the Hibberts sat in short lawn chairs watching over Jaguar. Its Regency Red exterior was as eye-catching as the Buick's black sheen. We discuss its legacy and Rick's Jaguar is his native England. On Wednesday, Aug. 11, Bruce and I attended the Little Car Show in Pacific Grove. Like the Concours on the Avenue, the Little Car Show is free and has the same welcoming atmosphere for those who appreciate vintage cars and trucks We interviewed Jessica Denecour of Pacific Grove, the owner of a 1947 Crosley Convertible. She bought the car as a retirement gift to herself and now drives the car throughout the Monterey Peninsula, but never on the freeway. Like all vintage car owners, Denecour has plenty of stories to tell about her light blue Crosley. It's the way it is during Monterey Auto Week. 18-year-old Michelle Martinko was found brutally murdered in her family’s Buick Electra in the new Westdale Mall parking lot in December of 1979. When good old fashioned police work wasn’t enough to solve the case, it eventually went cold. Top Gear host Adam Ferrara sits down with Chris and A.J. to talk about where he got his love for cars, buying vehicles off the Top Gear set and restorting his Buick Electra 225 or "Deuce and a Quarter" as he calls it.
Chronic problems in business are usually the result of binary thinking. “It's either this way or that way. It can't be both.” Strangely, the answer is almost always “both.” “Should I try to attract the price-driven (transactional) customer, or should I go for the (relational) customer who cares about something other than price?” Both. Create and schedule ads that speak convincingly to the question of price. Create and schedule other ads that speak of important matters beyond price. Just don't try to do both in the same ad. “Should I manage with strict policies, procedures, methods and systems, or should I empower my employees to make decisions on their own?” Both. Systematize the 90 percent of your company's activities that are recurrent so that your employees have the freedom to humanize and customize the 10 percent of your activities that are ever-changing and unusual. A company without freedoms is a sweatshop. A company without policies, procedures, methods and systems is a country club for unproductive employees. “Should I promote an exclusive brand and risk the manufacturer betraying me by allowing my competitor to sell that brand for which I've created all the demand, or should I create my own in-house brand so that I can remain in control of it?” Both. You need the credibility of established brands to lend strength to the new brand you will introduce. Advertise both, but never in the same ad. “Won't this make me seem unfocused?” No. You must get on board with proven procedures. You must also do your own thing and go your own direction. It's not only possible that you do both, it is essential. Mechanics across Europe began building cars in 1886 and each time they built a car it was different. More than 2,000 different garages built and sold cars one-at-a-time before Henry Ford's 1913 introduction of the first moving assembly line employing conveyor belts. Henry popularized the concept of interchangeable parts. It was efficient. It also made him the richest man in the world. By 1923 Henry Ford was personally earning $264,000 a day. He was declared a billionaire by the Associated Press. More than 17,000,000 Model T's rolled off Henry's assembly line and you could have any color you wanted as long as it was black. The inefficiency of building cars one-at-a-time forced the other 2,000 garages to sell their cars at about $2,500 apiece while the price of a reliable, new Model T was only $849. Soon the other carmakers got on board and America became an automotive Wonderland. But we always take a good thing too far. Fifty years later, General Motors decided to take this idea to the next level. “Instead of designing 5 different brands each year and retooling our machinery to build Chevrolets, Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, Buicks and Cadillacs, why not just put a different interior package and grille and taillights in the same, basic car and sell that car under 5 different names?” A Chevy Cavalier is a Pontiac Sunbird is an Oldsmobile Firenza is a Buick Skyhawk is a Cadillac Cimarron. A Chevy Nova is a Pontiac Ventura is an Oldsmobile Omega is a Buick Apollo is a Cadillac Seville. A Chevy Caprice is a Pontiac Catalina is an Olds 98 is a Buick Electra is a Cadillac DeVille. On the surface, this looks like exactly the same idea that made Henry Ford rich. The problem with the “platform engineering” introduced by GM in the late 1970s is that it eroded the distinctiveness of their brands. Two decades later GM was forced to close Oldsmobile and a few years after that, Pontiac fell as well. Analysts speculate whether Buick or Cadillac will be next. Conformity is essential or you will not be efficient. Differentiation is essential or you will not be special. Differentiate the 10 percent the public sees and experiences. Manage the 90 percent...
