Volvo says the deal grows retailer sales and service revenue without the financial risk of investing in the brand — notable given it sold its 30% Lynk & Co stake to Zeekr for 5.4 billion yuan (about $805m).VOLVO DROPS EX40 AS EX50 EXPECTED IN 2027Volvo is discontinuing the EX40 in the US and Canada, with its expected replacement, the slightly larger EX50 on the cheaper SPA3 platform and priced in the high $40,000s, not due at dealerships until autumn 2027. Expected to be mechanically identical to the Twingo Electric with a 27.5 kWh CATL LFP pack and around 263 km of range, it gets Nissan-designed styling drawing on late-80s and early-90s Pike cars such as the Figaro and Be-1, against Twingo and Spring prices of €20,000 and €18,000.POLESTAR FORMULA 2030 SIGNALS POLESTAR 2 AND 7 STYLINGPolestar has revealed Formula 2030, a design concept previewing the next Polestar 2 due in 2027 and the forthcoming Polestar 7, tied to its 2030 strategy for higher sales and a route to profitability. To tap into this market Horse, the joint-venture between Renault, Geely and Saudi Aramco, has built a 2.0 engine as part of a range extender system which will run on liquid methanol. Currently, methanol is not an e-fuel due to how it is produced but work is underway to try and make it so. Lynk & Co ist eine Marke, die viele noch nicht kennen. Das ist kein Zufall, sondern Teil der Geschichte, die Christian Treitz in dieser Folge erzählt. Er ist seit Januar 2025 Commercial Director Germany bei Lynk & Co, kam von Volvo, wo er zehn Jahre lang tätig war, und hat jetzt die Aufgabe, eine Marke in Deutschland aufzubauen, die es in China längst gibt. Im Gespräch geht es zunächst darum, wo Lynk & Co im Geely-Konzern eigentlich steht. Die Marke ist Schwestermarke von Volvo und Polestar, positioniert sich aber preislich darunter und designmäßig anders. Abenteuerlustig, aufregender in der Linienführung, weniger minimalistisch. Das klingt nach einer klaren Nische, ist in der Kommunikation aber schwieriger als es scheint. Zwischen günstigen Volumenangeboten und etabliertem Premium ist es nicht einfach, gehört zu werden. Ein großer Teil des Gesprächs dreht sich um den Vertriebswandel. Lynk & Co startete als reiner Abo-Anbieter im Direktvertrieb. Das hat eine bestimmte Kundschaft angesprochen, aber den breiten Markt nicht erreicht. Jetzt baut die Marke ein klassisches Händlernetz auf, mit 23 Partnern in Deutschland, 84 Werkstätten und aktuell sieben vollständig nach Markenstandards eingerichteten Showrooms. Der Aufbau ist noch im Gang, aber er verläuft nach einem klaren Plan. Technisch ist das interessanteste Modell derzeit der Lynk & Co 08 Long Range. Er ist ein Plug-in-Hybrid, aber mit 200 Kilometern elektrischer Reichweite und DC-Lademöglichkeit. Das unterscheidet ihn deutlich von klassischen PHEVs, die auf AC-Laden und kurze elektrische Reichweiten ausgelegt sind. Wer keinen Heimlader hat, aber trotzdem möglichst elektrisch unterwegs sein möchte, findet hier ein Modell, das im Alltag tatsächlich funktioniert. Zum Abschluss stellt Christian klar, woran er Erfolg messen will: nicht an Zulassungszahlen oder Marktanteilen, sondern an der Zufriedenheit der Händler. Das ist eine ehrliche Aussage für eine Marke, die gerade erst anfängt, in Deutschland Fuß zu fassen. Und vielleicht genau das richtige Mindset für diesen Moment.

Renault is exploring range-extender EV (EREV) technology for its next-generation electric platform — underpinning models like the Scenic successor — where a combustion engine acts only as a generator for trips up to 1,000km, and Provost is pushing for EREVs to be explicitly permitted for sale in the EU and UK beyond the 2035 all-BEV mandate.NORWAY'S EV SHARE RECOVERS AND HITS 98%Norway registered 7,272 new passenger cars in February 2026, with BEVs accounting for 7,127 of them — a 98.01% market share — as the market began to stabilise after a turbulent end to 2025 driven by expiring VAT exemptions.
