Everyone knows they changed it in 1985 to New Coke. But how many know of the other four times? And one of those might be considered a public duping. To get the answer today's story covers Thomas Edison, Cocaine, Kola Nut, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Robert Gozuieta, Fanta, Tab, Diet Rite, Robert Woodruff, Atlanta's Jewish Community, Royal Crown Cola and just maybe the show The Walking Dead.
Coca leaves have limited access. For the past 130 years, Coca-Cola has monopolized the legal importation and processing of the coca leaf. Harbour Solutions recently ended that monopoly. Harbour Solutions is in a category of one as the sole Canadian authorized importing agent for the only legal source of coca leaves and its derivatives in the world. Welcome to another episode of The Tim Ferriss Show, where it is my job to deconstruct world-class performers to tease out the routines, habits, et cetera that you can apply to your own life. This is a special inbetweenisode, which serves as a recap of the episodes from last month. It features a short clip from each conversation in one place so you can easily jump around to get a feel for the episode and guest.Based on your feedback, this format has been tweaked and improved since the first recap episode. For instance, @hypersundays on Twitter suggested that the bios for each guest can slow the momentum, so we moved all the bios to the end. See it as a teaser. Something to whet your appetite. If you like what you hear, you can of course find the full episodes at tim.blog/podcast. I wrote about the health benefits of using continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) more than ten years ago in The 4-Hour Body. At the time, CGMs were primitive and hard to use. Levels has now made this technology, and the unique insights that come from it, easy and available to everyone. Levels is making glucose monitoring simple, helping you see how food affects your health through real-time feedback. I started tracking my glucose years ago to learn more about what I should and shouldn't be eating (including quantities, time of day, etc.), based on objective data from my own, unique physiology. Keeping my blood sugar stable is critical to my daily and long-term health and performance goals. Furthermore, poor glucose control is associated with a number of chronic conditions like diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, and obesity. It's important. If you're interested in learning more about Levels and trying a CGM yourself, go to Levels.link/Tim.*This episode is also brought to you by LMNT! What is LMNT? It's a delicious, sugar-free electrolyte drink mix. I've stocked up on boxes and boxes of this and usually use it 1–2 times per day. LMNT is formulated to help anyone with their electrolyte needs and perfectly suited to folks following a keto, low-carb, or Paleo diet. If you are on a low-carb diet or fasting, electrolytes play a key role in relieving hunger, cramps, headaches, tiredness, and dizziness.LMNT came up with a very special offer for you, my dear listeners. For a limited time, you can get a free LMNT Sample Pack with any purchase. This special offer is available here: DrinkLMNT.com/Tim.*This episode is also brought to you by Athletic Greens. I get asked all the time, “If you could use only one supplement, what would it be?” My answer is usually AG1 by Athletic Greens, my all-in-one nutritional insurance. I recommended it in The 4-Hour Body in 2010 and did not get paid to do so. I do my best with nutrient-dense meals, of course, but AG further covers my bases with vitamins, minerals, and whole-food-sourced micronutrients that support gut health and the immune system. Right now, Athletic Greens is offering you their Vitamin D Liquid Formula free with your first subscription purchase—a vital nutrient for a strong immune system and strong bones. Visit AthleticGreens.com/Tim to claim this special offer today and receive the free Vitamin D Liquid Formula (and five free travel packs) with your first subscription purchase! POT TV – Author and drug war historian, David Malmo-Levine, discussed his most recent article on the history of coca leaf and cocaine, “The Amazing World of the Coca Leaf“. Mainstream headlines on cocaine are an addictive repetition of numb power plays, kingpins, cowboys, crime, and junkies, but the key to mama coca is much deeper. David Malmo-Levine took a reefer madness-free view of the coca leaf, and toured hundreds of images and years of history to provide potheads with a primer on the real dope on coke. What medical use does coca have? Is cocaine in Coca-Cola? What do coca and cannabis have in common? Enjoy “The Amazing World of the Coca Leaf“. Su vida privada y su vida pública ofrecen un orgánico homenaje al imperio cultural del cual Phaxsi se sabe heredera, mensajera y reina.¡Y ahora, disfruten la entrevista!_________________Enlaces relacionadosPhaxsi Coca: Instagram | YouTubeLokandes: Instagram | YouTubeFor further information about this interview, including links to anything mentioned by Phaxsi, or to continue reading this text in Spanish, English and Italian, visit the Metralla Rosa websiteSupport the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/metrallarosa)

It's not often that a truly unique spirit enters the market with the same impact that has been created by Cocalero. Celebrating the coca leaf that has grown in the Andes mountains in South America, the spirit imparts a sense of terroir of its Homeland. To understand this unusual spirit a little better, we speak to John Ralph, creator of cocalero and CEO of Intrepid Spirits about botanicals, flavour, what it takes to bring the unique spirit to the market and of course, how to use it.
If you've been into natural health long enough the chances are high that you've restricted carbohydrate intake at some point and tried the ketogenic diet. And if you've done the keto diet long enough, you know how many issues it can cause, most notably stress.
