(1) If I combine Maui Nui Venison with even a little exercise, I drop body fat unbelievably quickly. (2) It tastes delicious and isn't gamey. (3) Ethically, I feel great about Maui Nui protein, as axis deer are an invasive species on Maui, where their population needs to be managed in order to protect vulnerable ecosystems. Harvested using stress-free methods, Maui Nui's fresh venison is clean-tasting, tender, and one of the most nutrient-dense meats on the planet. Maui Nui is a nearly daily go-to for me, both as a supplement to my daily diet (with broth, jerky snacks, etc.) and through main courses (via their fresh-meat subscription program). I fell in love with this company so much that I ended up investing, which is a rarity.Remarkably, Maui Nui has nearly stabilized Maui's Axis deer population, which means the door to one of the most exclusive proteins on the market will soon be closed. The list of people waiting for invitations to become a Fresh Subscriber is long, which is why I am excited to offer my listeners an exclusive opportunity to bypass the waitlist and get instant access to one of the few remaining subscriptions. Dan Clark, CEO of Brain.fm, joins Jim Barnish on this episode to deep dive into operations and what it takes to align teams to the same objectives. At Brain.fm they combine everyone's love of music with neuroscience, their goal: helping you hit your flow state faster to achieve more. Your objectives as the founder or the business may not be the same as your employees, because everyone has different motivations. The key is fusing the strengths of those different motivations to grow together.Having goals is important, but you need to ensure you can break them down into actionable steps and time frames. Goals are often used as a pass/fail system, but there is something to be said for switching your focus to progress. Are you 1% better than you were yesterday? Will you strive to sell more next week than you did last week?Key TakeawaysEveryone in your organization does not need to have the same motivations. Align company objectives to personal goals (e.g. job security) to see the team flourish. Ensure that your KPIs are tracking what you really want. Your employees should be satisfied where they are, but not complacent. Ideally they are working well at the edge of their skill set.  Goals are important, but maybe not as important as progress. Are you better today than you were yesterday? Are you increasing profitability more this quarter than last? Consistent progress is key.If you love what you are getting out of our show please SUBSCRIBE.For more information on how we dig into the dirt check out our other episodes here: https://www.orchid.black/podcastAll contents of this show are rights of Orchid Black©️ and are not to be used unless authorized by written consent.ResourcesDan's email: dan@brain.fmDan's LinkedInThe 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership by Jim Dethmer, et al.20% Discount Code to Brain.fmAbout Dan Clark is an entrepreneur at the intersection of technology and mental wellness. How can listening to yourself be an ultimate superpower to live the life you want? Robbie Swale is a leadership coach, author, and podcaster, whose work focuses on creativity, coaching, and leading with honor. His time is split between his coaching business, writing, and various associate work. He supports coaches to grow their businesses and impact and thrive as people, via a community for coaches and a podcast. An ability to see things differently, understand different perspectives and see the truth in the world without the fear to do or say the right thing is the reason why coaches choose to collaborate with him.   In this episode, Robbie shares his journey on how he developed the 12-minute method while discovering how listening can be used as a superpower when it comes to truly live the life we really want. He also shares about the struggles and resistance he has overcome to be able to make an impact through his writing and how this helps him fuel his creative impulses.    Robbie also emphasizes the importance of consistency in building good habits. He realized how writing consistently for 12 minutes over time developed a practice of listening to that surprised him. And it helped him get things done and move him forward, even amidst his fears.   Robbie is the author of How to START when you're STUCK and How to KEEP GOING when you want to GIVE UP, as part of a series that have come out of his 12 Minute Method.  These books provide practical inspiration to get your idea off the ground and help you create good habits and stay focused - even when it's hard.   “6 years of creating, sharing, and of consistency. I've never put my mind to something, created a habit, and kept it before this. And now I know I'm somebody who can do that, and that's transformational.” - Robbie Swale Listen IN Notes:   5:54 - How listening and writing have impacted Robbie's life   7:06  -  “Whose words were those?” - prompt for practicing self-listening, Listen to your inner voice and ask a few questions to deepen your understanding.   14:33  - All about listening to your creative impulse and listening to yourself   25:19  - Listening made simple: listening to ourselves in relation to developing confidence    28:49  - Getting to know the voices in your head. To practice that self-listening, and writing whether it's for yourself or for somebody else. To practice self-listening and writing from a place of clarity, incisiveness, and compassion.   37: 47  -  All about the act of inertia, creating a change in our organization for the better, be working just a little bit on a project that you think would really serve the customers that aren't being served in this way.    38:06  - The impact of doubt on the experience of regret. Regret can feel overwhelming, but it is worth pausing to ask yourself: is my current thought pattern feeling like regret, what can I do about it?   42:42- The importance of getting yourself off the hook from all the outcomes that you think you want because you can't predict creativity, change, or organization.    Key Takeaways:   “The good rule of thumb is that the places where we feel the most resistance, the most fear, where we do the most procrastination are the most important places for our soul's evolution.” - The War of Art by Steven Pressfield   “Everybody has the voices that tell them, “You're not the person to do this.”  One of the games, the way to deal with that, is you don't have to listen to those voices…because we have some voices in our heads that may come from fear and mostly that fear isn't real. “- Robbie Swale   “If you write how you think, then as you practice writing, you get better at that, then you also get better at thinking. And if you write how you speak, then you also get better at speaking.” - Robbie Swale Those conversations (with listening) give me amazing energy.  - Robbie Swale   When I am writing, I feel like I am listening beyond myself. - Robbie Swale A small amount of time once a week has a much bigger impact than I expected. - Robbie Swale   What would be exactly enough time and not a second more to make some progress?  - Robbie Swale Notes/Mentions:   Raquel Ark's featured interview at The Coach's Journey Podcast – Listening Alchemy And The Gold Beyond Words Raquel's interview with mutual friend Colin Smith, Stop doing listening and start being listening Jim Dethmer, Kaley Klemp, and Diana Chapman's “15 commitments of Conscious Leadership” Steven Pressfield's “War of Art” Robert Holden    Connect with Robbie Swale:   Website: https://www.robbieswale.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/RobbieSwale LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robbieswale/ Podcast: https://anchor.fm/12-minute-method    Connect with Raquel Ark:   www.listeningalchemy.com Mobile: + 491732340722 contact@listeningalchemy.com  LinkedIn

Learn how Dr. Jeannette Birnbach successfully invests in real estate syndications in today's episode. Welcome to Pillars of Wealth Creation, where we talk about building financial freedom with a special focus in business and Real Estate. Follow along as Todd Dexheimer interviews top entrepreneurs, investors, advisers and coaches. Dr. Jeannette Birnbach has been running a successful practice for the last 24. She realized about half way through that time that scaling her business would require opening multiple offices or developing a passive stream of income. She had always been intrigued by the idea of real estate and began her journey by renovating and flipping a house and then purchasing single family homes in multiple markets. Realizing the potential of multi-family, she purchased three small multifamily properties on her own, which led to discovering the power of passive syndication for larger properties. Syndication removed all obstacles to generating income due to its infinite scalability and almost zero time commitment after investing in a great deal. It allowed her to keep working in her clinic, while generating a six-figure passive income and amassing a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio which increases in value every month. Now working as a general partner, she is able to guide other health care practitioners who face the same challenges she did to learn about and profit from passive real estate investing. 3 Pillars 1. Your network 2. Diversification 3. If we could use one word to describe our guest this week, it would be generous. For Austin Church, life is about giving everything he can give rather than taking everything he can get. That might mean freely sharing the lessons he's learned in business or simply giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Throughout his journey, Austin has learned a lot about himself, the importance of play, the power of relationships, and how to approach life with a mindset of abundance. You'll get to hear these lessons, plus easy ways to discover the same things about yourself. Austin would be the first person to tell you that he doesn't have it all figured out, but we know you'll learn just as much as we did from everything he so generously shares! In this episode, you'll learn:Why relationships, not money, are the part of his career that he's most proud of.Austin's internal scorecard for evaluating his life and what led to this value-driven perspective. How he moved from serving out of guilt to letting love and generosity motivate everything he does. The truth about leading with skepticism and the benefits of assuming positive intent instead.About self-acceptance and how loving yourself helps you love others too.Plus, practical tips for understanding who you are, what you need, and when you're not in a good place. To have fun in play through toys, books, and anything else that brings you joy. That resilience isn't denying your needs but finding strategic ways to prop yourself up in your weaknesses. How recognizing the end of his control and the start of his limitations helps Austin recenter himself and enjoy life more.About the people he depends on and the ways they've helped him along his journey.Find Austin on his website, Twitter, and LinkedIn.More on the book Austin is writing in public here.Austin references Peter Kaufman, CEO of Glenair and his thoughts on reciprocity. You can read/hear more in this speech of his.The podcast episode that had Austin in tears with Jim Dethmer is from this episode of Shane Parrish's podcast The Knowledge Project.
