LYNY is pushing the boundaries of electronic music by discovering and combining new cutting-edge sounds with melodic compositions. His approach to bass music is heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and trap beats with a splash of R&B. He strives to balance his songs with heart wrenching basslines, arpeggiated melodies, hard hitting drums, and often throws in recognizable vocal chops. LYNY's skills as a producer and engineer have landed him placements with Tobi Lou, Lox Chatterbox, and SVRITE. Some of LYNY's stand out tunes include ‘Noxious' and ‘Kill Count' which have been played out by industry heavy hitters on massive stages. Another one of his popular tunes ‘Jump Bros!' is a flip of Destiny Child's ‘Jumpin' mixed with the ‘Super Smash Bros. Brawl' theme melody. His versatility has allowed him to touch many genres progressing his sound to a very unique place. The success of his releases has earned him major support from Marshmello, Louis The Child, and Zeds Dead as well as labels such as Majestic Casual and Sable Valley. To listen: / lynyofficial

Welcome back to Don’t Alert the Stans! For this week’s episode, it’s finally a full house as Eden, Sope and Nic are together again as a trio for the first time in over a month. Kicking off the news agenda this week is T.I. and Tiny who are now being investigated by the LAPD over unrelenting sexual assault allegations. As a response to the accusations, T.I. has released a new single ‘What It’s Come To’ lambasting their accusers (41:35). A year following a viral clip showing 3LW’s Kiely Williams and Destiny Child’s Farrah Franklin engaging in a shade fest, which was later revealed to be from an aborted reality show pilot, BET have announced that the show has now been picked up and is set to air in June. Starring ex-members from groups like 702, Blaque, Total, Cherish, Danity Kane and more (53:23). Rounding out this week’s episode is a sequel to the J. Cole centred ‘Groupchat Convo’ which began with Eden and Sope a few weeks ago. With Nic back in the fray, the boys delve into an comprehensive discussion about his new album ‘The Off Season’. While Sope focuses on why musically it misses the mark, Eden and Nic dissect the project as a wider extension of the person and man J. Cole has grown into over the last decade. Examining his politics, financial stature and consistent misogyny (01:03:00). Not one to miss! Sope’s Listens For The Week: Xscape - Off The Hook J. In this episode, I speak with filmmaker Lindsey Dryden and filmmaker, novelist, and podcaster, Day Al-Mohamed. In our conversation, we chat about Day’s advocacy work in Washington, D.C., Lindsey’s work as a producer of the film Unrest, and the organization they co-founded with the Oscar-nominated director of Crip Camp, Jim Lebrecht and Alysa Nahmias, FWD-Doc. FWD-Doc is committed to empowering filmmakers with disabilities and part of that advocacy is being bold saying the words “disability” and “disabled.” With that said and the spirit of naming what is, is, this week’s song is Destiny Child’s “Say My Name.”

Music superstar Wyclef Jean, is featured on this episode of Dustin Plantholt’s “Life’s Tough, You Can Be Tougher” podcast. Wyclef, or Clef, has received three Grammy Awards and earned a place among the “top 50 hip-hop players” on a special cover of “Rolling Stone” magazine. He has also collaborated with Queen, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Earth, Wind and Fire, Kenny Rogers, Tom Jones, and the late Michael Jackson, to make music. And, as a solo performer, Wyclef has six albums that have sold 9 million copies. The multi-talented artist draws on elements of pop, country, folk, disco, Latin and electronic music. Wyclef was founder and guiding member of the Fugees, a prominent hip-hop group out of New Jeresey that rocketed to fame during the mid-1990s. The Fugees’ name was a reference to the earlier refugee status of two of the three members: Wyclef and Pras Michel. Both had come to the United States from Haiti. (Wyclef was nine when he arrived.) In 1997, the group won a Grammy Award for best rap album, “The Score,” in 1997. As one of the top hip-hop albums of all time, “The Score” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and was certified six times for platinum status in sales. It included their featured hit, a rendition of Roberta Flack’s 1973 song, “Killing Me Softly.” The Fugees had recorded the album at Wyclef’s studio, in the basement of his uncle’s home in New Jersey. After the group split, Wyclef became a solo performer and a producer. As he notes on his website, “If I didn’t keep moving after ‘The Score,’ you all wouldn’t have had the biggest pop song of all time.” Wyclef was referring to Shakira’s 2006 mega-hit, “Hips Don’t Lie,” a song that he co-wrote. He was also a featured performer on its recording. Other Wyclef hits have included: “Gone Till November,” “Ghetto Superstar” (Pras with Wyclef), Carlos Santana’s No. 1 single “Maria, Maria” (with Wyclef and Product G&B) and the late Whitney Houston’s “My Love is Your Love.” He was the producer for Destiny Child’s breakthrough hit, “No, No, No,” when Beyoncé was just 16. Life’s tough – you can be tougher, like Wyclef Jean, who intends to keep making music. “Every day when I wake up, I go into the studio and record,” he says. “There’s always a guitar and a piano nearby. I’m always writing, that’s my survival. I don’t go to a therapist. My therapy is when I pick up my guitar and sing.”

Painting a picture of Destiny's Child dance history would not be complete without the soulful renditions of their tracks. This is where Maurice Joshua comes into the picture. Much like his contemporaries Frankie Knuckles, Todd Terry, Louie Vega, Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez, Eric Kupper to name a few, Joshua had been producing and remixing tracks since the 80's. In addition to his work with Destiny's Child, he was the favored remixer for another Diva Hall of Fame inductee Kim English. His relationship with Beyoncé was often compared to that of Mariah Carey and David Morales in that she would often re-sing her parts to accompany his garage-house remixes. This is readily apparent on his remix for Bills, Bills, Bills recorded live where Beyoncé adlibs many of the vocals not included in the original track, much like Mariah did in her earlier work with Morales. Several of the more popular remixes attributed to Digital Black-N-Groove is actually an alias Joshua used to produce more club-ready remixes that were flip-opposite of his Nu Soul style he was known for. In an effort to cover all facets of the DC era, Party Favorz is proud to present to you Destiny Child's House Sessions. Enjoy! Glenn Douglas Packard was born the eldest of three in Detroit, MI to Roger and Paulette Packard. When Glenn was 5 years old, his father convinced the family to pack up all their belongings and move to a run-down farm in Michigan, where Roger saw a potential future in the dairy business. As Glenn was growing up into adolescence and the farm grew profitable, he began working in the family business in Clare, MI. Eventually, Glenn went on to study Dairy Management at Michigan State University. On one of his vacation trips back home, he suffered a horrible accident with a 4-wheeler. With a compound factor to his right tibia and fibula leg, his doctors insisted the only option was to amputate his leg from the knee down. After months of fighting the infection, which had spread through his entire body, due to the open wound, countless surgeries and a steel rod places in his leg, Glenn had to relearn how to walk. He made a promise to himself that if, and when, he fully recovered, he would do the one thing he had dreamt of all his life; to dance and entertain. While at 21, where most dancers are already experienced, Glenn was just walking into his first dance class. Within 2 years he was accepted into the scholarship program of the highly acclaimed Alvin Ailey School of Dance in New York City. With a treasure trove of his mixes stored in a dedicated folder, I finally carved out the time to assemble these sets—and trust me, they're absolute roof-raisers that Victor Calderone fans will love. Delving into his life story or his ascension to being Madonna's go-to DJ isn't the focus here; he's spoken at length about these in various interviews. What stands out about Victor Calderone is his efficiency; he's known for turning out some of his best work in a week's time. This "don't overthink it" philosophy has significantly influenced my approach to creating episodes for this site, a lesson I wish I had absorbed earlier in my career. These curated sets were crafted in a single take, fine-tuned later to enhance their flow. Clocking in at more than nine minutes each, they've been pre and post-mastered for an impeccable audio experience. Special attention went into Sarah Brightman's rendition of "Dust in the Wind," which I discovered in my collection. The song had a glitch toward its end, a flaw that I've now rectified for your listening pleasure. Contrary to popular belief, Victor Calderone did not remix certain songs often attributed to him. For example, he did remix Destiny Child's version of the Samantha Sang classic, "Emotion," but he didn't touch "Emotions," performed by Elle Patrice which was remixed by Tony Moran. Likewise, the popular remix of Kristine W's "O Holy Night" wasn't Calderone's work either but that of Illicit, who also made a splash during Victor's heyday. Nowadays, Victor Calderone maintains an active presence in the industry but has shifted his focus towards darker, more subdued original productions. You can still catch his live sets, as he continues to tour extensively. Check out his schedule on Resident Advisor to see when he'll be gracing a venue near you. In an industry filled with talent, Victor Calderone stands out for his consistency, versatility, and his undeniable influence on progressive house music. As a creator, he's taught us the value of trusting one's instincts, a lesson that holds weight whether you're crafting a nine-minute mix or a sprawling tribute series like this one. It's an honor for Party Favorz to pay tribute to Victor Calderone and his invaluable contributions to the world of progressive house music. His legacy is a testament to the transformative power of the genre, and his enduring work continues to inspire both fans and fellow artists alike. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album : Victor Calderone Tribute Volume 1 Genre : Circuit, Progressive House,
Lin-Manuel Miranda has recently blown up with the success of Hamilton, and Maria Williams has been obsessed since the very beginning. Maria has always been interested in musicals, she wrote her first musical during science class at high school set to the music of Destiny Child. When everyone else at Maria's uni hall was listening to T Pain's 'Apple Bottom Jeans', she was listening to musical theatre soundtracks, which is where she was introduced to Lin-Manuel Miranda's 'In The Heights', just weeks after it's broadway premiere.

Hey Beautiful Ladies! Step into your Destiny by being who you are! We are so exited to have a super star song writer on our show. Juanita Wynn wrote for one of Motown’s legends, the incomparable ‘Diana Ross’, writing her title cut “Every day is a New Day”. She has also written for artists such as: Grammy Nominee Gospel Artist Fred Hammond as a songwriter/arranger/background vocals on nine tracks, the soulful R&B songstress Angie Stone, the most popular, multi-platinum selling female R&B group Destiny’s Child, Verity gospel group Virtue, Ben Tankard, Jazz musician Norman Brown, and Shirley Murdock, just to name a few. She also had the privilege of singing background on Tyrese hit single, ‘Lately’. Her list of amazing talents is unremitting. Juanita prides herself as a notable singer/songwriter professional for over 10 years and now it is time to reveal the quintessence of her soul. The self-titled track ‘My Story Continues’ is an up-tempo, high intense song that manifests her life’s struggles and triumphs, and offers inspiration to young single mothers and troubled teens.
