He highlights a novel staged approach for unbalanced AV canal defects, which allows for left ventricle growth assessment without committing to a single treatment path. The conversation emphasizes the importance of individualized treatment plans, noting that identical echocardiograms can lead to different outcomes in different patients. Dr. Emani stresses the value of keeping options open and allowing the child's physiology to guide treatment decisions.Dr. Emani also shares insights from a session on complex cardiac neonates with other major malformations. He discusses the challenges of balancing cardiac and non-cardiac issues, weighing the benefits of full repair against less invasive approaches. The episode concludes with a discussion on the importance of early, open communication with families about all care options, including palliative care, especially in complex cases.Throughout, Dr. Emani emphasizes the conference's value in fostering interdisciplinary discussions and challenging established approaches to improve patient care. It is Friday on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast. In this episode, the RSMS crew talks about Kanye West's daughter, North, prefers to stay with Kanye instead of Kim. On a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kim talks about North saying that she loves how her dad has no chef, no nanny, no security and lives in a condo. She asks her mom why can't they live in an apartment instead of a $60 Million mansion with maids, chefs, nannies and security. Nipsey Hussle's assets have been split between his two children, Kross and Emani. The assets are a total of $11 Million and Lauren London has received half of that money for Kross and Nipsey's brother, Black Sam has received the other half as the legal guardian of Emani. Usher has known about his Super Bowl performance for a while but he had to keep it a secret. Suge Knight has made some claims about Akon on his podcast Collect Call. Knight said that Akon sexually assaulted an underage girl in a studio. Akon has gotten wind and he and his legal team are fighting back. They are filing defamation claims against Suge Knight even though he is serving a 28 year prison sentence. In the 'you just can't make this stuff up' category, Suge Knight has a new podcast. Yep, he is still in jail serving a 28 year sentence, but apparently that doesn't matter. He made a deal with David Mays from Source Magazine. The podcast is called Collect Call With Suge Knight. After one episode, as you might guess, there is some drama, because it's Suge Knight. Suge is making audacious claims about Akon, accusing him of raping underage girls in the studio. Akon has refuted the claims in a statement to TMZ Hip Hop, saying the claims are false and he is not standing for the slander.  "I need to make it very clear that I absolutely deny these outrageous false and disgusting claims Suge Knight made on his podcast about me," he said. Akon goes on to say that he has never had any contact with Suge since he's been incarcerated, and the voice that you heard on his podcast was a soundbite previously recorded from an interview that Akon did with DJ Vlad three years ago regarding Suge Knight and this incident that happened back in 2009.  As you might guess, Akon has gotten his legal team involved. They are filing a defamation lawsuit against Knight. I don't know what that's going to mean because he's already in jail, but anyway, he says that he is still praying for Suge and he will continue to do that. As for the backstory to all of this, in 2009, Suge was left KO'd on the pavement and a man in Akon's camp, Robert Carnes Jr., was arrested for a felony assault that happened in Scottsdale, Arizona. And as they say, the beat goes on. Deion Sanders Advocates for Robbed Players: Calls for NCAA and Rose Bowl to Reimburse Stolen Goods University of Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is speaking out about his players being robbed of their personal items at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. This happened last weekend.  It was a really big game here for all of us in LA as Colorado played and lost to UCLA. But ESPN is reporting that Sanders has called on the NCAA and the Rose Bowl to reimburse the athletes who were robbed of jewelry and cash as their locker room was raided during the game.  He said, "This is the Rose Bowl. They say the Granddaddy of them all, right? I'm sure Granddaddy has some money. Grandpa should have some money to give his kids... They may not be able to get the items back. But we should be able to reimburse them. That was unbelievable." Most of the players didn't have insurance for the stolen items. A report was filed with the Pasadena Police Department regarding the robbery. ESPN is reporting on all of this. Legacy Secured: Nipsey Hussle's Children Declared Sole Beneficiaries of His Estate Nipsey Hussle's brother, Samiel Asghedom, has finalized the work as administrator of the late rapper's estate. And according to the legal papers, Nipsey's two children are his sole beneficiaries. Emani, who's 14, with his ex-girlfriend Tanisha Foster, and Kross Asghedom, whom he shared with then girlfriend Lauren London. Kross and Emani will each receive 50% of the cash and non-cash assets, with an additional $113,000 for health, education, and other matters.  His death is still It's such a very, very sad story, but I'm glad the kids will be okay. Britney Spears' Memoir Hits 1.1 Million Sales in First Week Britney Spears' memoir, "The Woman in Me," has sold 1.1 million copies in the U.S. alone, and that was just the first week. She, of course, is grateful to her fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support. I guess you could call it that.  The sales figures include pre-orders, print sales, ebooks, and audiobooks. "The Woman in Me," released October 24, has been praised by critics as a compelling account of Britney's rise to global fame and her ongoing struggles, including the conservatorship that lasted for years as her father was in control of much of her life.  And she, of course, told about that abortion while dating Justin Timberlake more than 20 years ago. In this conversation, Jessica and Ram discuss how curiosity has shaped his career, his research, and ultimately his relationship with his patients. Raised by parents who always encouraged his curiosity, Ram started college intending to be an engineer focusing on the automotive industry, but a class that allowed him to interact with patients changed everything.    Jessica's oldest son, Ethan, was born with a rare heart defect, and he died at age 7 in Boston, needing a heart transplant. Since 2015 Ram has served as a board member of the Ethan Lindberg Foundation. In this rare, insightful, and intimate conversation, Jessica asks Ram about his practices to prepare for surgery, how he handles successes and failures, and how he keeps himself mentally and physically healthy so he can operate at such a high level.    This is an episode for anyone aspiring to be a doctor, for parents raising children with complex illnesses, for medical professionals who want to commit to practicing at a high level while maintaining their own health, and for anyone who wants to be inspired and reminded that following your heart and following your curiosity can change lives, yours and others.    To learn more about Ram Emani:   https://www.childrenshospital.org/directory/sitaram-emani You can find Jessica on Instagram @jessmlindberg, on LinkedIn, and her website www.jessicalindberg.com - Sign up for her bi-weekly newsletter to receive updates on her events and projects and for regular inspiration and encouragement to help you grow through the challenges in your life and live your full potential.    You can follow The Heart Strong Collective on Instagram @theheartstrong or at www.theheartstrong.com

SISTAAAAAS! Grab your Roombas, we fly! This week, Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with one of the stars of HBO Max's FBOY Island Season 2, Mia Emani Jones (@_miaemani), to talk about Hocus Pocus 2 for a very special Halloween episode. We were lucky to be Mia's first interview post coming out, so we spent some time talking about her journey. FBOY Island is a wild place to be while experiencing that ‘I really don't like men' revelation and yet, it is somewhat shocking that more contestants haven't come out as gay. If anything was going to put someone off men, it would be FBOY Island. We could spend hours talking to Mia about her journey, but we are here to talk about Hocus Pocus 2! It has been 29 years since the Sanderson Sisters blessed our screens and yet there still aren't any canonically gay main characters! This feels like a huge missed opportunity, considering there already is a sequel to Hocus Pocus in book form that is 100% gay. Instead of giving us a story about Max and Allison's gay daughter like the book did, Hocus Pocus 2 goes in a different direction and brings in brand new characters not related to the original movie. From the second we meet Becca, Izzy, and Cassie it is extremely obvious that they are all baby gays. They are going through a difficult friend breakup, because Cassie decided to date some lame boy in a complete betrayal of her obvious throuple situation with Izzy and Becca. These girls have spent every Halloween night charging crystals in the woods and we are supposed to believe they are straight? Cassie has been attempting to mend the friendship, but Becca is too disgusted by the mere existence of Cassie's boyfriend to be anywhere near her. That's lesbian ex behavior and we are here for it. Moving on from the throuple, the movie opens onto Fear Street 3 where we see tiny baby dyke Winifred Sanderson absolutely losing her mind at the idea of being made to marry a man. She has a full blown meltdown, immediately bearding up by calling out her relationship with Billy Butcherson, who she literally only kissed once and who completely hates her guts. The girls run off into the woods to escape the heteronormative patriarchy and meet Mother Witch, who Winnie becomes instantly enamored with. The baby Sanderson Sisters spend a total of maybe ten minutes talking to this powerful lesbian milf in the woods and in true baby gay fashion decide they live there now and will be following in the hot older witch's footsteps. We fast forward to present day and meet Gilbert, a gay man obsessed with the Sanderson Sisters and intent on using Becca and her friends to bring them back to life. It's hard for Gilbert to see through the glamor and the intrigue of the witches, but in the end he does the right thing and chooses his new boyfriend Billy Butcherson over his love of the Sandersons. When we get into talking about the Sanderson Sisters themselves, the obvious gay is Winnie. While we may not be completely sure about the sexuality of Mary or Sarah, we are 1000% convinced that Winifred Sanderson is a whole dyke. She is extremely over the top 24/7, maintains her story about her beard Billy for centuries out of spite, dedicates her life to being a witch because a hot lady in the woods told her she was special, and cannot resist turning every scene she can into a musical number. Plus, as we've said countless times before, witches are inherently gay. It should be impossible for a movie like Hocus Pocus 2 to not be gay, because witchcraft is gay; and yet, Disney is determined to keep its witches in the broomcloset. We know one thing for sure, Hocus Pocus 2 Should've Been Gay. Follow along on Twitter: Lez Hang Out (@lezhangoutpod) and answer our Q & Gay at the end of every episode. Of late, business teams are starting to understand the power of this art to try to bridge this distinction between arts and management. In this episode of the Advance Podcast, Mike interviews Sriram Emani, Founder of IndianRaga, one of the largest global social media platforms for Indian Performing Arts. He is a 2015 Global Fellow with the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA), where he was the only Indian out of 52 Fellows from across the world!Sriram shares his thoughts on arts and science and how they work in unison to create better things for society. He also talks about his passion for storytelling, the value points from his Ted Talk about the importance of being imprecise, his thoughts on uniting different cultures, the challenges faced, and how to use art to power innovation.EPISODE 43 SUMMARY & HIGHLIGHTSHow do you differentiate art and science?4:34When you have an established practice, a protocol, process, or formula, you call it science, but when it's still new, and there are different interpretations possible, you call it art. Art gives us a multitude of perspectives and backgrounds for us to learn from. What are your lessons from doing things nobody has ever done before (like living as a nomad with 50 families)?7:11While I was doing my MBA from MIT, I kept hearing people talk about market research. I learned that people might give you answers, but they don't always know what they want. So even if you ask a lot of questions, you get stereotypical answers, and that's detrimental to innovation because you're not really getting what you want. Over the years, I've also learned what globalization of culture really means. It's a way of really one generation talking to another or expressing. Where do you think storytelling holds the most significance today?14:05Storytelling holds significance almost everywhere. It doesn't matter if it's a data analytics company, entertainment company, consulting firm, finance company - metaphors, analogies, and stories are the most powerful tools to convince and analyze your audience. It helps you engage with your audience and build a connection with them. Why do you think traditional boxes are important?17:12I learned that there always is a role and will be a role for history in our lives. It can help you draw a parallel between the then and now. Traditional boxes are essential because sometimes you want to build on a body of work. And for that, you need all individual boxes and components that you can draw from to get to a certain level. Then you build on top of that. So you need all of the innovation and creativity that come in from these individual boxes - they're always going to be very important. What do you think the Eastern and Western civilizations can learn from each other? What can the audience learn from the integration of those?24:54Can you give us a snapshot of your Ted talk where you talk about the value of being imprecise?30:20(FULL SHOW NOTES FOR FREE:  https://connect.stepstoadvance.com)KEY QUOTES:3:31-3:545:30-5:3617:12-17:41CONNECT WITH SRIRAMLinkedIn CONNECT WITH MIKELinkedIn
