Singer-songwriter and Sound bath healer Lisa Murdoch, uses her pain as her big message through her breathtakingly impactful songs. Lisa left her place at a highly sought-after music degree at Manchester university after feeling unaligned and generally out of saughts, then covid hit and before long her anxiety got worse, to the point she would no longer leave her house. Going through this painfully dark season would break most, but Lisa kept searching, learning, partying and surrounding she started to take night-time walks in the woods, and this is where her music came to her once again. Only this time so much had changed. Lisa has stepped into an unapologetic badass of the woods who loves to turn heads with her art. Lisa's energy I found like Kate Bush and Bork – sweet pure but make no mistake completely ahead of us all. I can't wait to see Lisa take over the charts with her gifts! Lisa's Takeaways 1. Follow zero people on your Instagram - you get to decide you you're exposed too 2. Surround yourself with different perspectives. 3. Spiritual awakenings aren't easy 4. Call your ‘breakdown a transformation but that's what it truly is 5. Getting quiet and going within is quite normal as there is a lot to process 6. Any shift like a breakdown, or anxiety to not leave the house can make us go into blame but that's the ego brain keeping us small, we have to be selfish at that point as it takes up all of the head space and we might not have articulated it. 7. Look at your ancestral roots it might be the connection and feeling of belonging you need for the permission of what you're naturally drawn to 8. Even though we are proud of our roots and authenticity, growing up but growing up we need to see people who reflect us. As it's in our survival makeup 9. Get to the woods Trees have so much for the senses not just visual either 10. A message from the heart goes straight through the heart 11. Words have power – we fear the word witch why aren't they afraid of the men who drowned the witches? We are super excited this week to talk about all things Surface Pattern with Australia's finest watercolour artist, surface pattern course creator and creative mentor. And if that's not enough Cass talks about the importance of getting quiet and allowing your unique creative style to come through you. This process she believes is a highly spiritual, creative flow state is only entered when we allow for the space. This of course doesn't just happen, there is lots of mess in between the day job before the pivot. We talk about the huge gap between being a student again and allowing yourself to learn and building the runway before you jump ship. You're going to love this talk (hashtag just saying) Cass Takeaways: 1. Look at what you absolutely love first, what makes you not look at your phone, what can you talk about all day? Follow that passion– the business will come after. 2. You don't have to jump ship, build your runway first. 3. The pivot is a huge change for you and your family, remember this when you're feeling all of the fear, it's all possible, but you have to respect it takes time. 4. Don't put all of the ownership to pay your bills with this new creative venture. Try to have an income stream that's low maintenance on your head space, to leave room for ‘the playfulness and curiosity energy of your new venture. 5. Look at evergreens you could launch for your business that's not a direct equal swap for your time and money. 6. Your work holds energy, and we can feel that even online. Play and design before you read your emails. 7. We are consuming so much information, be mindful about what distractions you have without noticing i.e. scrolling, the news. 8. Practice being by yourself we need to get quiet to listen 9. Following the breadcrumbs takes trust, listen to your inner knowing nobody knows 100% if it's going to work, but if you know and start your day armed with your ‘Why' you will naturally seek the right opportunities. 10. Get clear on what it is you want to change, meditate, journal, and shout it out into your mirror, you get to decide and change through manifesting, but being intentional takes daily reminders to yourself. Your inner knowing is spiritual which is creativity too but you need to get quiet to hear her and your intuition. 11. Your mindset controls EVERYTHING. You're the director of your whole life. 12. Being ‘too sensitive' is a superpower for your creativity. You will only birth your signature style if you're listening to what wants to come through you. Joe Russo is a successful entrepreneur who has a great ability to make things happen and find ways around problems. He is passionate about making a difference and it is of the utmost importance that Joe leaves his mark with whoever he works with and whatever area he works in. Due to Joe's cultural background and the barriers, he faced as a youngster due to having severe dyslexia, he has perfected the art of creating human connections that bring about change and success. 'I'm especially passionate about bringing out the best from a lost cause. Many people in society are marginalised because of their background or, like me, are dyslexic. However, there is always hope and with the right help, support and creative thinking, change happens.' Joe offers support to businesses in areas such as creating connections, dyslexia awareness and developing a successful culture. He is currently working all over the country, working with huge initiatives such as Oasis UK and Lewis Hamilton's Mission 44. Joe's Takeaways 1. It's the systems that try to pack us into groups – we are all different and so should we be. 2. What would the world look like, if every child was treated with kindness and compassion? 3. Trauma passes down 5 generations If left alone unworked. 4. If we all took the time to read about Trauma and act through this lens, would this be enough to shift mindsets? 5. Children are individual humans, they don't need to be caught up in old systems that aren't serving our communities. 6. We all need human connection. 7. Remember, junk food industries spend lots of money on studies to make sure no human connection means unhealthier unsociable choices. 8. Exclusion Is abusive 9. What's your mission? Go back and check to see if your purpose and values are still aligned with your daily actions. Daniel says 'the solution is as simple as the sun. How can you see the sun when your vision is clouded by fear, by doubt? and even though we know these clouds pass, we trudge and move through the haze, alternating somewhere between surrender and self-sabotage, until we catch a little glimmer of the sun. We are no different to this Sun, we rise we set even when it's clouded, we should trust this, it's been there the whole time.' Artist Daniel of 'This is Color me Crazy' is an extremely talented creator and a very funny spiritual guy who takes his precious life and being aligned so seriously, he left his life in New York to back to his homeland Porta Rico and now runs daily mediation meetups and he has the most amazing in retreat in Costa Rica coming up in March 2023! Daniel's Takeaways The old way of creating and doing business is old news – words don't teach, experience does Make your life. The movie you want to have and see You don't need great resources, you can create just with your phone All you need is you and your passion – that's more powerful than millions who don't have this energy. Passion is infectious Feeling abundant is not about being super rich 6. If you fail at something, try something else 7. Well come here wanting something, when the light is outs it's probably because you don't have that purpose 8. The truest conversation you will always have with yourself is the delta brain waves are – the subconscious rewire programming that happens when we are in between a dream and an awake mindset Sitting and enjoying the quiet is a calm powerful feeling you've set first for yourself If you're worried about something its either from your past or your future and it's just not needed or helpful Look at breath work it's everything Meditating should be easy, go on YouTube for meditating sounds and follow your breath Get out of your head and into your body We aren't ever going to fix our family or anyone We don't need to talk about the past and wear it as a heavy suit, talking about how bad we have had it The universe only understands energy and vibration not words Waiting for others to fix themselves is a fast route to being hurt and let down. Spend time fixing yourself A deliberate creator means We are programming all of the time, we can reprogram our body when we dance and have fun, we create more joy, its not about the looking good, its always about the feeling Links https://colormecrazy.info Costa Rico Retreat https://trips.trovatrip.com/trips/costa-rica-with-daniel-colon-apr-2023 Black Friday deals -Work with Emma Isaacs https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk

Sandra Gale left her really cool ‘safe' job as a stationery designer in Brisbane Australia to fully back herself with her stunning brand. Sandra created vibrant whimsy females to ‘celebrate the amazing, perfectly imperfect women we know and love Sandra's art & gifts have taken off, in just 12 months, her prints, T-shirts and candles are sold in many stores across Australia! Sandra shows up at many markets plus she's created a life with the perfect mix of running art workshops and lecturing at a university too. Oh, and did I mention she started all of this in lockdown? Sandra's Takeaways 1. Mature students and graduates offer great value to a studio, they have lots of skills and established life practices. There's no straight path, just follow the breadcrumbs You don't have professional experience in your field, everyone has skills they can bring to the table – a can-do attitude is more important Your personality and attitude matter, show positivity and lightness and get stuck in whatever the task no matter what. If you have a dream that scares you, set a date, tell others don't wait to be ready, you won't ever feel sorted. 6. Your business is yours but, it will impact the whole family, deadlines, and trade shows, so make sure you're intentional with sharing the downtime Doesn't matter what creative path you're on, we all have the same imposter syndrome, and insecurities we were shamed at a young age for being sensitive and those ideas that an artist is a loner or Morning pages are a great way to brain dump the weeds, the story o repeat, and get clearer by writing 3 pages when your first week is up. It clears your head for the clear inspired energy. Always add 20 % of the time to any deadline. Daring to jump is of course what we need, but build your runway before you jump. Look back on your word of the year and see if it aligns The great resignation is a time in history when we will look back and see people re-evaluating their paths, and realising working for retirement isn't a forefilled life. Give yourself permission to do it ‘scrappy' showing up regardless gets the task done. Entrepreneurs have to have a support system that gets the terminology and knows the daily challenges and obstacles we have to work through. 14 . If you can't get a coach, make sure you have a mentor in some way, you will find if you send the right questions many will love to give advice for free to help in some way. Passion is infectious – All humans from all communities and tribes go to an elder or master, and we are no different. Steph Thannhauser has been a freelance designer for over 25 years. She's known for creating designs for many different products, illustrating kids' books, creating art for magazines and creating patterns for sewing fabrics. She loves her job and feels so lucky to be doing what she loves but four years ago she was getting sick of her own company. Yes, she loved designing but was fed up of sitting by herself every day so started to think of what she could do to change things up. She didn't want to stop working on creative projects with clients but she wanted her working life to have a more sociable component. Steph says ‘Have you heard the expression “ask the universe for what you want and make your wishes come true”? Well, she did ask and she started to get messages requesting beginners' sewing classes so she thought that's what she'll do. It's sociable plus there is the added bonus that she can use her own fabric designs in class and share those and she got paid for her skill and experience too. She's now taught 65 people to sew in face-to-face classes but wants to reach more people so is taking her classes online. If you want to start your sewing journey with Steph you can join her free Beginners Sewing Sew and Grow with Steph Bootcamp which is running on the 28th and 29th September. The extremely talented Jacqueline Wild is absolute proof that we can manifest a life with what we are really after … freedom time to play, surf, wild sea swimming, explore kelp forest cycle and sleep under the stars in Cornwall where she left her capital city life in London to sleeping under the stars in Cornwall. Jacqueline and her childhood sweetheart Dal followed the whispers and spent their 20's and 30's travelling the country in their campervan working the festivals. Both have created a life that is full of freedom and joy and working with the Laws of the Universe around their toddler in their life in Cornwall Dal has a cacao business ‘Food of the Gods' you can find him at Sennen Cove market and many Cornish farmer markets. Jacqueline's degree is in English, labelled the writer out of the two sisters growing up and not the artist. This trust and working with the universe meant that she knew she could try her hand at illustration and boy has it worked! She now has two tiers to her business, selling her prints as products physically at markets and Etsy and designing for an agent. Jackeline's Takeaways We can't all swim wildly or surf, but you can find a moment each day alone, under the bridge away from anyone else to hear your inner thoughts, this is what most people are afraid of, it's the only way we can heal, and we can only create our best art when we are listening Prioritise hobbies – it's important for our inner creative souls/ our inner being Follow the feeling then you can follow the breadcrumbs correctly If that feeling seems too frisky – off track, for example, finding a forest or diving for kelp, remember we are creative beings, this is what lights us up! Energy meets energy, go shift yours before putting pen to paper Shamanic practices like cord cutting are extremely powerful in letting go of the energies that have held you back Links https://creativesparrow.co.uk/creatives/jacqueline-wild Www.Instagram.com/glitter_earth Www.glitterandearth.Etsy.com Www.glitterandearth.com www.foodofthegods.org.uk/about.html www.emmaisaacs.co.uk www.instagram/emmaisaacsdesigns
Not only is Gee Scales writing his 3rd book planned to be printed this September, Gee is proof that following the whispers, and surrendering is the absolute only path to the creative life within you. Gee has always loved wood and creating and designing 3d materials but he didn't know how or where to best carve out life using his talents. Growing up in inner-city Nottingham, Gee became a father at 19 which meant their many memories of himself and his then-wife, despite feeling like kids themselves, pushing through regardless. Of course, they both have fantastic careers, and Gee tells us their children are out studying them by far! But as it often is on this creative oath, that's just one thread but that's just one thread... Gee got made redundant 3 times – finally, he took the nudge from the universe that he's got so much more to offer the world! At 36 Gee studied to be a Teacher! 12 years on, Gees now carved a life which consists of designing 3D prints at home, extreme sports 'Avid gamer, movie and TV buff and self-professed geek. I'm a lover of all things technology-related and he refuses to grow up. Fast Forward is his second novel. Yes, you read that correctly. Gee is constantly following his passions, tweaking, and learning along the way. I can't wait for you to hear his story! https://www.nintendo.destructoid.com/thwomp-cartridge-holder/ ) www.geescales.com

Have you been convinced that the Law of Attraction works for everyone but YOU? You know what you SHOULD be doing, but feel like you're lying or worse still you feel shame because you're not thinking happy thoughts ALL OF THE TIME? There's an extremely toxic materialistic trend around manifestation at the minute. It can get frustrating when we can't manifest what we want, we try vision boards, visualisation technics, journaling and much more but don't realise that we can be actively blocking and worse - harming the attraction of our desires. So of course I thought its time to explain to you the real reason why... There is much more than ONE law of the universe. These 12 laws are based on quantum. When it comes to manifesting through the law of attraction people are unsuccessful because they completely abandon the 11 other universal laws! Check out my 4-week live interactive programme 'Sell with heart and Soul' Module one is a complete immersive deep dive into the 12 universal laws. https://www.emmaisaacs.co.uk/heart-and-soul
Micheal Clements has followed that feeling down the winding road as an artist, he's been a magazine editor in Washington DC, an actor which lead him to work on films with Jackie Chan in Hong Kong, all the while trusting the hear and now and not questioning the outcome. Micheal is not only the owner and founder of ArtJamz but he is also an outsider artist who has exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Washington DC We go deep in this conversation about artist sensitive intuition and nurturing this superpower. its ok to have lots of different creative paths you've tried, it will fall into play later in life when you work out what you want to try with ease, not with struggle. Micheal Clements Takeaways 1. What did you make as a kid 2. What did you instinctively do? Make films? Fashion books – that's what you're inner creative child Is 3. The layers are hiding your true path 4. You won't always see where it's going straight away - The business ideas percolate over years – can be 10 years later, 5. The answer, who you are is within you, only you can rediscover it 6. That amazing feeling that lights you up – is so rare in our lives, we have to follow that thing! That's the thing – now watch the serendipity that follows 8. The power of serendipity is when you follow the ha-ha moments and watch the dots connect. 9. We are so big on the outcome and not the feelings – the flow 10. Art and intuition was around before words 11. Keep on creating - We need more art in the world Links https://www.artjamz.co/about-us

This week is a very special one. its our 100th episode! And guess who got to chat too? Sophie Miller! Sophie is an extremely talented textile artist who has fully stepped back into her practice. You will understand why when I tell you she is a wife and a huge part of Andy J Pizza's creative Pep Talk goodness and of course an amazing mum to their 3 children. So, of course, I got to ask what inspires Sophie and how important Yorkshire was growing up, what it's like in their home; having two talented successful creatives as parents. Sophie is so giving and shares her venerable experience this year as she stepped into a studio with other artists for the first time and produced her first exhibition since university. Sophie has given the last 10 years to their children, while running a successful Etsy shop ‘The Thread House' making costumes. But of course, being the rock behind Andy's practice too. Sophie shares how she kept her creative practice going throughout the different seasons in her life since becoming a mum straight after leaving university In Huddersfield in the U.K to moving over to Andy's home town in America. Sophie Takeaways 1. Get lost in the labour of sewing, we know the bliss we get form each tiny stitch. 2.French Notts are an example of a creative practice that can hypnotise, slow time and the gifts that Can be seen framed and treasured – the validation – your creativity can be the gift that binds relationships. 3. Express yourself and get lost in the process 4. Honour where you are in your life and art –the seasons change, so our practice will too. 5.We can't create when we are stressed, our art changes through the chapters we are at. Sometimes we need a clear start, middle and end like gardening, other times we can invest in a longer more detailed project 6. Try the 5 am club -getting up at that time means you're starting the day putting yourself first instead of waiting until the end to see if you're not too tired. 7. The garden and outside have the perfect and unperfect in all of its tapestry, how the seeds and greenery turn out. 8. Where feels magical to you? Where do you get that playful feeling? The element of surprise Is the woods? Where do you escape from wandering? 9. What's your go-to landscape for your senses? Is it a secret garden in the woods? Or an open mountain or ocean cape? 10. Covid has taught us to notice when we need the quiet – to go under the bridge? 11. Art college is more than finding and learning your art – you find your people at a time when you're finding yourself 12. It's a huge relief to be in a safe environment where you can express yourself – you are the art, your style 13. Us creatives are sensitive beings, this is why we feel it all, the invisible parts as Andy illustrates, after a life of shame and embarrassment, trying to fit in, we can now honour it and own it as our superpower. 14. Meet your kids where they're at. Let them see your messy middle phase in your art. 15. An exhibition or an in-person event gives you that extra urge to finish your art, so the viewer can get close and see touch and taste it almost 16. Creative community is vital for an artist. 17. Letting your children see you the week of a big launch or deadline is good for them Connect with Sophie here https://www.sophiemiller.co/new-page Instagram - http://instagram.com/thethreadhouse

These are your company's values It's ok to not like 9-5 it's your life and art, work your business around that. Creatives work best through play – we must trick ourselves to get into doing the work. Some people need a non-creative day job to keep their minds clear for their business Take a business course Look at your boundaries You may love what you do so much that it doesn't feel like work, however, we need to live, and life will speed past, be mindful of this and design your life with all holistic qualities humans need, family time, fitness, social time. When you get a brief, ask yourself how it makes you feel? Is it for money or is it in alignment with your brand”? Charlie India is a lawyer turned artist based in London. She documents her life as a creative building her art practice online. Charlie now works part time whist following her vunerable creative path openly to give others permmsion to a more forfilled and aligned lifestyle. Charlie started posting about her creative journey - opening up about feeling like an imposter after so many years of denying her creativity. She quickly realised that she was not alone. Creatives from all over the world were messaging her saying 'oh thank goodness, I feel that way too'. And in that connection sparked an idea - what if there was a community where we could inspire people to prioritise their creativity, talk openly about the ups and downs of their creative journeys and support each other in the process? And so began The Creatives' Coffee Club! Charlie's Takeaways 1.Your creative journey sounds abstract but it's an inner feeling not logical thought process. 2.You may have suppressed your inner artist unknowingly, there might not anyone in your circles and always felt an outsider. 3.Find your inner artist. 4.None of us are masters. 5.You can design a varied life if you're multi passionate, be true to yourself. 6. Allow the space to be messy and a learner. 7. The two brains fight at exactly that moment when we need it most, the lizard brain wants to keep us safe, it's not evolved yet – hence the panic attacks in a shop when we really know we are safe. It gets us when we are least expecting it. 8. We could draw before we could write, we danced before we could sing. 9. The fear of feeling judged and the fear of people in your past and life seeing you on your new more aligned path doesn't go away, you just get used to it. 10. If you have a day job – own it, it doesn't make you less of an artists. Jemimasara is a multi-disciplinary artist addressing freedom of expression and aspects of daily life. Humorous, tongue-in-cheek, expressive and ironic; Jemima Sara creates a mixture of artwork, limited edition prints, illustrative accessories, easy-to-wear clothing and pretty much anything she wants to get stuck into. With collaberations ranging from perfume, shoes and handbags to women celebrating women. JEMIMASARA enjoys bringing creativity, art and print to new places. She also works on a private commission basis. For JEMIMASARA, her practice is a form of self therapy. Jemima enjoys discovering a language in drawing (or 'scribbling' as she describes) to ignite conversations and to exhibit the struggles of daily life. Jemima has exhibited her work in many solo and group shows. Jemimasarah's Takeaway's 1.You don't have to stay stuck with one style, we evolve each day, so can our art. The fixed mindset is the opposite to being creative, we shouldn't think we will ever know everything Always be curious We don't exec a chef to sell his first batch of dishes Stop the pressure of thinking you need to create every day, we ebb and flow Intuitive drawing can help shut off your thoughts Self development is not selfish Try a body scan Don't struggle alone. You gave to get uncomfortable if you want to break the destructive habits You are not your lizard brain, you can put distance between the two. Your brain is 100's of times eating to seek the pleasure release from jumping off the plan than the hard work you've put in. Noting is black and white, give yourself grace. Our mind and body is always connected, our best art comes from this place when we are in a good mental space. London based mural artists Eloisa Henderson Fills the world with happiness, she brings excitement to many lucky people's walls! Of course we know how brave she must be to paint huge murals but what I love about her is that she explains in our conversation that's she feels the fear each time! She explains here how she pushes through and her childhood growing up with her mum who works with children who are maybe vulnerable and neurodiverse, which of course has helped shape Elosia's art to this current day. What I also love is that this was all born through lock down! To help keep a float last year, Eloisa Henderson ran workshops in her garden. Eloisa spins lots of plates, she paints on film sets too! Eloisa's Takeaways 1.Just because you didn't enjoy the project, the teaching, or whatever the thing is the first time, it doesn't mean you won't again, try it a second time and see! 2.Put out what you want more of. It's that simple 3.Worrying about a project is common, it's what keeps us at our best, we have to look for ways to keep this healthy and not overtake us. 4. As creatives we natural worry 5.If you don't get the project you pitched for remember, you're successful to even be in this position to apply. 6. It's about trying again down the line, it's not a sorry no' it's a ‘not right now'. 7.Some projects can just feel way too big because it is right now, and that's ok, if you feel it will impact you negatively. Listen to that. Of course, we need to push ourself out of our comfort zone, however, there is a difference, don't confuse the two. 8.When children play up, we know it's for attention, use your art to play! This will ease them into a safer, calmer mental space. Art is a super power. 9.You can make people smile through your art that's the true magic! 10.It is possible to spin lots of plates If you're interested in a variety of different creative areas, it's important to do if you know you need the mix 11. When working on a job its expected for you to work out what you need to do to get that job done, so don't worry if it's new to you, just say ‘Yes thankyou let me get on with that' and research later. Your manager just wats it done, they don't mind if you've done it or not. 12. You don't always know more the longer you're in a studio, don't worry, just learn on the job. That's what we all do! 13. It's ok to be anxious when you're putting yourself out there creatively, we can reconise that nasty voice and say internally ‘thank you, I'm doing it anyway! ‘I'm doing the best I can and that will lead to more great art' This kind of narrative is far more inviting, progressive and helps us move past in the moment than letting all of the nasty mean words paralyse us. 14.Spread your art outside or hang in your windows for passer by's to enjoy, your art will brighten their day, it's a gift.

His first collection of poetry is soon to be published “Life's beautiful game”. Rhythmical Mike is also a star of YouTube, with poems such as ‘Smile' and ‘You Got This' gaining many thousands of hits. His short film of ‘Life's Beautiful Game' is winning him admirers across the world. Mike's Takeaways Our path isn't defined by school that's just the first steps. If you have a loved one who is struggling with the school system, show them that it's not the be all in life, there are thousands of professions we all know people who are making money doing nothing that that was taught in school. They need reminding. Also that they are strange for not knowing what they want to do for the rest of their life aged 15! Not many people do! Make sure your child hasn't had his confidence knocked at school especially if he's dyslexic, we hide it well, looking back on my life I realised I had the belief it's better to be the naughty kid than to feel stupid kid Show them spoken word, grime, rap film studies if they aren't engaged with English and see it this engages them. Young adults open up and are so much more engaged if you show your vulnerability abs any hardship with them first otherwise they can just think you're one of them, what do you know! If you don't know where you're going or what it why, Then taken that one next step and following your curiosity is always enough, this is where your joy will be. Listen go the friends you meet, the trips you want to go on and it will unfold. Quite often travelling and going away is the most amazing mission and self discovery but the change and what mark you can make of the world will be at home! Look around in your community and see what you can offer. Us creatives see the invisible stuff you will know what your town needs. Look and see what lights you up? What makes you obsessed? What makes you not look at your phone? That's the thing everything else can be learned as a skill, passion is uniquely yours. Collaborations are powerful for your business but also for you as an artists that support is so vital for growth 11.Remember Brands are a person, this can get forgotten in the noise of the internet so it's important to stick to your core values as a business and it will be noticed further down the line. Treating everyone

Make sure you reach out to creative communities online. 3.Finding time to create is vital to being a better Mum, because you're being the better you! 4.Feeling burnt out isn't ok! We are told its path and we need to juggle, spin those plates. Talk to your family and work out scheduling times for you! 5.We don't have an adult telling us to take care of ourselves! It's our job to think about what patterns and examples we are setting to our kids. 6.It's ok to say being at home with the kids isn't working out for us all. That doesn't make you a bad parent! You're an honest human. 7.Giving yourself permission is vital, not just for yourself but for others. 8.Take a good look at where your time is spent each day, which chunks are being spent on what areas and write it all down so you can see in detail how many people and jobs are taking you away from what you really want. 9.Stop asking why you should do it. What's the reason? Sometimes our bodies want to move and dance just because! 11.Chipping away is such a powerful mantra. Start telling yourself this each day. 12.If alarm bells are ringing for you or a family member regarding ADHD take an online test and have a look at the show notes for some of our favourite books. Artist Matthew Burrows MBE started the #Artist Support Pledge initiative when the pandemic first hit in March 2020, he and his family hoped it would reach 1,000 participants, he didn't imagine it would generate 70 million pounds! Matthew has won lots of awards last year but I'm sure his proudest moment was receiving an MBE at the Queens Honours. The concept of the artists pledge is straightforward: artist are invited to post pictures of their work for sale for £200 or less on Instagram using hashtag #artistsupportpledge. Every time an artist makes £1,000 in sales, they in turn pledge to spend £200 on work by another participating artist. There are no third parties, payments are made directly from artists to artists. Listen in to hear Matthews true core values, motivations and beliefs on philosophy's and community's. Mathews Takeaways 1.Everyone should feel they have access to creativity and the arts. 2.Intellect, Feelings and spirit shouldn't be taken apart and seen as separate entities. 3.It's about how we live our lives and what kind of world we create as individuals, it's no one else's job, take ownership of how you're showing up each day and if it matches your core values. 4.Write down what you can offer and bring to the table and refer to it daily 5.Give yourself permission to do it messy and make mistakes 6.Having a mentor group, a safe space to sound out your ideas is vital for your creative business 7.A supportive community helps feed and develop your creative business. Give people the opportunity to support each other and the means and system they will use it. As humans we thrive in villages. 8.It's a good sign if you feel slightly nervous about putting your art out into the World- it means it's a new uncertain territory new! Trust that uncomfortable feeling 9.you need to change your money mindset to one that's more comfortable asking for money, get your art, shift it by saying it's not an exchange for time, it's a gift you're putting out into the world which then gives back and the energy goes on! Bam-Bam is a visual storyteller whose work draws on image, shape, colour and narrative to create visionary expressions in paint. She loves how painting can transform the stuff of everyday life into vibrant and imaginative visual languages. At the heart of Bam-Bam's aesthetic is a desire to revitalise the spaces and surfaces of the everyday world with vivid patterns and designs. Whether she's working on a mural, street art, a commission or collaboration, Bam-Bam embraces each project with an open mind and an appreciation of flow. For Bam-Bam, art-making is an intimate choreography with the movements and rhythms of the world and its inhabitants. Bam-Bam's process is meditative and carefully conceived at the same time as it is highly adaptable and intuitive. She fuses traditional and contemporary styles, frequently employing bold geometric patterns. She works across a variety of materials and surfaces, using spray paints, stencils, prints, and pigments, leaving marks and brush-strokes on bodies, abandoned buildings, paper, textiles, and other canvases. For Bam-Bam, painting is public performance. There is a robust theatricality to Bam-Bam's painting practice, which involves characters and costumes in the development of each work. Often, these fantastic and fictional personas liberate Bam-Bam from the usual constraints of art-making and allow her imagination to run wild. As a result, many of Bam-Bam's paintings express vivid psychedelic imagery that evokes a sense of fantasy, wonder, and euphoria. Bam-Bam has developed many of her designs into wearable art and décor.
