A dream is just a dream, nothing more than a dream…If you realize a dream, will you be happier? Will this accomplishment matter on your deathbed? My answer is NO.Fifty years ago, the authorized representative of my father's firm, Mr. Pfeiffer, wanted a Mercedes 600.My father said, “I don't care; you can get the car you want.”My father didn't care about cars and even drove our junk cars. After Mr. Pfeiffer got this fancy car, he said, “After six weeks, the car will be dematerialized…”He meant that our minds will no longer feel excited, joyful, or attached to any object we possess after some time, no matter what it is.Because I won't care anymore about driving the Mercedes 600, and then I can happily drive my wife's VW Golf.My father had already dematerialized luxury; he was one step ahead. Both of these individuals were materialistic…For them, it was more important to chase their dreams than to derive anything from them. The realization of dreams was not important; what mattered was moving forward, enjoying the journey, and learning the lessons. That is the wisdom of materialistic people…And that is the wisdom of spiritual and religious people…I hope this will also become your wisdom.Only now can you be happy!Only now can you love!Only now can you enjoy! You can never postpone your happiness, love, or joy.Enjoy your journey! If you feel like you're not enough, consider therapy, as I did, instead of chasing dreams.Look inside and discover your purpose in life instead of setting goals that have nothing to do with your purpose.A purpose will give your life meaning and fulfillment.Ask yourself:What is my purpose in life? Why am I here?Your purpose will change over time! For instance, you might not have had a girlfriend, but later you start a family with kids…For sure, your purpose will change. So you have to ask these questions again and again. My Video: Does Chasing Dreams Make You Happy? https://youtu.be/-wsS5rlp3qsMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast4/Does-Chasing-Dreams-Make-You-Happy.mp3

Think more money means more happiness? Think again. In this episode, I go all in on one of the most misunderstood ideas out there — that success, fame, or financial wins automatically lead to fulfillment. Spoiler alert: they don't.Whether you're on the come-up or already living with some wins, this episode will challenge how you define “success.” I talk about keeping life simple, the emotional toll of chasing more, and how gratitude and perspective are the real ROI.If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the pressure to keep climbing — or you're scared of what happens if you lose what you've built — this one's for you.We talk about:

Sign up for my free weekly newsletter. _  Welcome to Building Generational Wealth—a podcast series for the everyday person. Whether you're just starting your financial journey or rewriting your money story, this space is for you. Women and men. Millennials and Boomers. Gen X and Gen Z. Every race, background, and identity. Because financial literacy should be inclusive, accessible, and empowering for all. We're facing one of the most financially unstable times in modern history. Debt is soaring, inflation is biting, and wages aren't keeping pace. Millennials hold just 4.6% of U.S. wealth. Gen Z is stepping into adulthood burdened by debt and locked out of homeownership. Meanwhile, $84 trillion is set to change hands in the largest wealth transfer ever. The question is: Will you be ready to receive, grow, and protect it—or be left behind? This is your moment to rise. Through honest conversations with leading financial minds, we'll show you how to build wealth patiently, intentionally, and wisely. It's not about chasing trends—it's about creating lasting security. Because if you don't take care of your money, your money won't take care of you. _ Our first guest, Peter Grandich, embodies the spirit of this series. His unlikely journey began with no formal education and managing a warehouse, but a small investment sparked a passion for the markets. After losing everything to the notorious penny stock brokers of the 1980s, Peter didn't give up. He started an investment club that caught the eye of a brokerage owner. Despite doubts from loved ones, Peter became a stockbroker in an era when the business was little more than a desk, pad, and pen. His story is proof that grit, perseverance, and a hunger to learn can turn setbacks into lasting success. Peter also opens up about the often-overlooked struggles behind the financial world's glamour, revealing the toll it took on his mental health: “In 2022… I actually lost a will to live. And it's hard to imagine why, but that's what it came to.” He reminds us that wealth isn't just about money but about values and mindset: “Money is not the root of all evil — the love of money is.” From founding one of the first national investor relations firms to becoming known as the “Wall Street Whiz Kid,” Peter ultimately left Wall Street at his peak to pursue a life grounded in faith, humility, and purpose. His story shows that true wealth is about more than dollars—it's about legacy, resilience, and meaning. _ Host: Ben Mumme Twitter Medium YouTube Instagram Website LinkedIn _ Guest: Peter Grandich Website Twitter YouTube

Estelle Bingham is dubbed ‘The Heart Whisperer'; she knows the greatest anxiety can come from suppressing parts of ourselves. In this chat with Fearne, Estelle – a holistic therapist and healer – explains how when the mind is spiralling out of control, the heart can bring us back to stillness. She shares how to feel your emotions in your body instead of just analysing them in your head. Fearne has done her own personal work with Estelle, and they talk though how Estelle's guidance can banish shame and put a circuit breaker in negative thought patterns. Ever fake a smile? We all do. What harm can it do? Well, it could do you some harm if you are the one doing the faking. Listen as I reveal the downside of faking a smile. https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2011/02/22/study-finds-fake-smile-is-bad-for-business/ While modern medicine is responsible for many miraculous things, there are some blind spots – some blunders. For example, the skyrocketing rate of peanut allergies is primarily due to some bad medical science. Same with over prescribing of antibiotics, the reluctance to prescribe hormone replacement therapy for women – all bad science. And there's more! You need to be aware of these errors and be armed with the information to protect yourself. Here to provide this alarming data is Dr. Marty Makary. He is Professor at Johns Hopkins and has been a visiting professor at 25 medical schools. He is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine and author of two bestselling books. His newest book, which is already a bestseller is called Blind Spots: When Medicine Gets It Wrong, and What It Means for Our Health  (https://amzn.to/4gqSjhP) Your mother probably told you to always be kind. While that is good advice, it appears that kindness has a more significant impact on you than you ever knew. It's not just being kind either. Just witnessing kindness has a cascade of effects on you that you need to hear about. So come listen to my guest Dr. David Hamilton. He is the author of 11 books and his latest is called The Joy of Actually Giving a F*ck: How Kindness Can Cure Stress and Make You Happy (https://amzn.to/3TxKZHw) Why do we drink so much cow's milk? Lots of animals produce milk but cow's milk is clearly the preferred favorite. Does your signature reveal anything about you? Does it send a message to those who see it? I start this episode by sharing some insight into how others may make assumptions about you based on how you sign your name. https://graciousliving.typepad.com/the_write_event/2003/11/what_does_your_.html One reason to spend money is to buy things that make you feel good – and happy. But does a fancier car or another pair of shoes really make you happy? Usually not. After a while, that fancy car is just your car and that pair of shoes you had to have just sit in the closet with all the others. Maybe, if we were more deliberate about what we choose to spend money on, it might really make an impact on our overall happiness. That seems to be the case according to research by my guest Michael Norton who has been investigating how and why people spend their money and what it does and doesn't do for them. Michael is a professor at Harvard Business school and author of the book Happy Money: The Science of Happier Spending (https://amzn.to/3iFzDOq) It can be difficult to set boundaries that other people honor. But if you don't set boundaries people can take advantage of you and make you feel resentful. So how do you create boundaries people will respect while not being perceived as cold and inflexible? Joining me with some really great advice on this is Terri Cole. She is a licensed therapist, relationship expert and author of the book Boundary Boss: The Essential Guide to Talk True, Be Seen, and (Finally) Live Free (https://amzn.to/3AhKXwz). A lot goes on behind the scenes at restaurants that you are totally unaware of. Listen as I reveal the results of a survey taken of restaurant kitchen workers that let some interesting secrets out of the bag regarding the way restaurants work that you likely never knew. https://abcnews.go.com/Business/13-secrets-waiter-tips-menu/story?id=16948508 Learn more about your ad choices.
