He went on to play Balkanin in pre-WW1 drama "Si Laraby" (2003) and guest on "Third Watch" (NBC, 1999-2005) but initially focused on the stage, performing in productions of "Death of a Salesman," "A View from the Bridge" and "Love Lies Bleeding." But he eventually returned to the film world when he appeared alongside actress sister Annie Parisse in indie "First Person Singular" (2009). Roles in family dramedy "Gabi on the Roof in July" (2010), romantic comedy "The Ride of Tom and Valkyrie" (2011), love triangle tale "Green" (2011) and LGBT movie "Gayby" (2012) then followed, as did a brief spot in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" (2014). Cancelmi then appeared alongside his real-life wife Katherine Waterston and father-in-law Sam Waterston as a theatre director struggling with impending fatherhood in "Please Be Normal" (2014), and then again in his brother-in-law Graham's short film "And It Was Good" (2015). Cancelmi's profile grew considerably when he was cast as undercover agent Mike D'Angelo in Emmy-winning crime drama "Boardwalk Empire" (HBO, 2010-14). A year later he enjoyed a three-episode stint as serial killer Thomas Wilder on police procedural "Blue Bloods" (CBS, 2010-), played a thieving zoo worker on "Elementary" (CBS, 2012-) and added indie movies "Funny Bunny" (2015) and "Manhattan Romance" (2015) to his filmography. After showing up in Doug Liman's virtual reality drama "Invisible" (2016), Cancelmi played violent criminal Jimmy in NYC drama "Tramps" (2016), eco-criminal Owen in "The Blacklist" (NBC, 2013-) and successful trader Victor Mateo in three episodes of "Billions" (Showtime, 2016-). Charlie Barnett stars as Peter Mills, a young new academy graduate who follows a long line of multi-generational firefighters, in NBC's drama "Chicago Fire."   A graduate of The Juilliard School, he began performing in his hometown of Sarasota, Florida, at the age of seven in opera and musical theatre productions.   On the big screen, Barnett has a supporting role in "Men in Black 3" with Will Smith and Josh Brolin.  Other features include "Gayby," which premiered this year at the South by Southwest Film Festival, "The Happy Sad," a tangled love story, and "Private Romeo," a modern take on Romeo and Juliet.   On television, he has guest-starred on NBC's "Law and Order:SVU" and "Law and Order: CI."

Mike Doyle, currently starring in Union Square, joins host Robin Milling for lunch at Cafe Blossom in New York's Greenwich Village. Mike chats about his role over a delicious vegan lunch of Quinoa salad with house-made kimchi, tofu scramble and garlic french fries; with signature herbal-infused cocktails like Tootsie Tree Hugger and In The Weeds. A graduate of Julliard, Mike has acted consistently in television and movies. Most recently on the small screen he played an anesthesiologist opposite Patrick Wilson's brain surgeon in A Gifted Man. In Union Square he plays Bill, engaged to Tammy Blanchard's Jenny, who plays Mira Sorvino's estranged sister. Despite being called 'Superman' by Sorvino, Mike's all American good looks have not typecast him. The Bronx born actor also plays the bad guy, dying on screen numerously. He has been featured buying it at least seven times on various television series. Doyle jokes that he calls his mother after his death scenes just to make sure she knows it's not real! Mike has also starred on the big screen in The Green Lantern as Ryan Reynolds' brother and talks about a possible sequel. Next Mike can be seen in the independent film Gayby and will return to television in The Good Wife.
