"Grounded For Life" was a sitcom that depicted a family where the parents had children early in life and are now raising three kids while in their early 30s. The show's original network Fox made the decision to cancel the show early into its 3rd season but then was picked up by The WB where it remained until the end of its fifth and final season. The show was met with mediocre fanfare through it's entire run from 2001-2005, but does that mean the S1E1 guys will feel the same? Find out as they do a deep dive of their pilot episode, "Lily B. Goode." www.S1E1POD.com Starring: Donal Logue, Megyn Price, Kevin Corrigan, Lynsey Bartilson, Griffin Frazen, Jake Burbage, Bret Harrison, & Richard Riehle
Ben Vaughn On Zig At The Gig Ben Vaughn grew up in the Philadelphia area on the New Jersey side of the river. At age 6, his uncle gave him a Duane Eddy record and forever changed his life. In 1983, he formed the Ben Vaughn Combo. The band was together five years, releasing two albums and touring the U.S. several times. They received rave reviews in Rolling Stone and People magazine and video airplay on MTV. The attention inspired Marshall Crenshaw to record Ben's "I'm Sorry (But So Is Brenda Lee)" for his "Downtown" album. Ben embarked on a solo career in 1988, recording several critically acclaimed albums, touring extensively in Europe and the U.S. and receiving more MTV exposure. During that period he produced three records for the Elektra Records American Explorer series (Memphis rockabilly legend Charlie Feathers, Muscle Shoals country soul singer Arthur Alexander) and recorded "Cubist Blues," a collaboration with Alan Vega and Alex Chilton. He also scored two films ("Favorite Mopar" and "Wild Girl's Go-Go Rama"), as well as appearing as a frequent guest commentator on nationally syndicated radio shows “Fresh Air” and "World Cafe." In 1995, Ben moved to L.A. and released "Instrumental Stylings," an album of instrumentals in a variety of styles. A guest appearance on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" led directly to being hired as the composer for the hit TV sitcom "3rd Rock From The Sun." "That 70s Show" soon followed, and for the next ten years Ben would provide award-winning music for a dozen other TV shows and pilots ("Men Behaving Badly," "Normal, Ohio," "Grounded For Life"). He also provided scores for several films ("Psycho Beach Party," "The Independent," "Scorpion Spring") and continued producing records (Ween, Los Straitjackets, Mark Olson of the Jayhawks, Nancy Sinatra, and the "Swingers" soundtrack CD). Somehow Ben found time to create the legendary "Rambler '65." Recorded entirely in his car, this much-publicized album (and subsequent short film) is still considered by many to be a classic document of a man and his dream. Since then, Ben has released “Designs In Music," “Vaughn Sings Vaughn Vols. 1-3,” “Texas Road Trip” (recorded in Austin, Texas with Doug Sahm's band) , "Five By Five" and "Piece de Resistance" by the Ben Vaughn Quintet and the solo acoustic album, “Imitation Wood Grain And Other Folk Songs.” Add to that an Italian dance hit (a DJ re-mix of “Hey Romeo”), airplay of “Jerry Lewis in France” on Bob Dylan's radio show (complete with Dylan's recitation of Ben's resume), and two recent tours in France and you're looking at what continues to be a very interesting career. Occasionally, Ben takes a break from his syndicated radio show (“The Many Moods of Ben Vaughn”) to perform live in the US and Europe. The dates are randomly planned so catch him while you can! Peter took the opportunity to dive deep into an area of conversation that he typically doesn't express publicly too often. He shares his journey growing up and coming to Canada as a young immigrant, starting his own businesses from such a young age, and getting caught up in success and living the life he thought would bring him happiness. He shared details of what it was like to experience that level of confusion of what success was meant to be. It took a toll on his mental health and started to rely on alcohol consumption, not having the desire to wake up in the mornings, with many other impacts that questioned what true happiness meant for him. Peter detailed how it all started with looking at how to improve his professional and financial gain, until he started his path on his spiritual journey. He started with looking at gratitude, incorporating meditation practices, learning to embody being present consistently throughout each day, not just when he sits in mindfulness and stillness. Peter spoke about how encountering all the strife on his path, allowed him to connect to his true self and learn the meaning of true authentic happiness. His key message to the listeners is that: take time to retreat, to reflect in the quiet, take time to connect with how you feel and what is going on for you in the inside; find what works for you, it will look different for each person, but there is something that helps you understand and settle yourself that has the ability to ignite your energy.

Pastor Steve finishes his teaching on Grounded for Life. Today's message is about trusting the Word from God and putting it into action.
Pastor Steve continues his teaching on Grounded for Life. Talking about the good seed and what made it good was that it had less in it. Less is more.
Pastor Steve continues his teaching on Grounded for Life. That our walk with God is a process. Teaching from the parable of the farmer sows the seed, night and day he sleeps and wakes not knowing what is going on, then up comes the leaf, then the blade, then the full ear in the blade.
Pastor Steve begins a new sermon series titled "Grounded for Life" He talks about the seeds that are choked out and the ones that become mature and fruitful.

Why is it that getting grounded is so bad as a kid but so good as an adult? Luckily, Brendan talks with Dr. Erin Yu-Jin McMorrow, coach and author of the amazing new book, "Grounded: A Fierce, Feminine Guide to Connecting with the Soil and Healing from the Ground Up." The two grounded spiritual heroes talk about what it actually means to get grounded, how losing touch with nature is a direct reason for climate change, why soil is sexy, and why it's ok to refer to your plants as your children.

New Afterlife TV Episode: Everyone agrees that we are going through difficult times. In this video, I discuss ways to deal with your current struggles so that you can feel more happiness in every area of your life. Ironically, this episode was not created to deal with this subject at all. In fact, I created it months before we had any hint of what we're struggling with now, and I have a small group of foster kids to thank for it. I created this video for a wonderful group of high school seniors who read my book, The Magic Mala, and had questions about it for me. The name of the group is Grounded For Life, and the group leaders generously gave all the young foster kids a copy to help prepare them for their futures. The leaders then contacted me to ask if I would answer some of the students' questions. The questions they asked me in this episode are brilliant, and they inspired me to look deep within myself for the wisdom I’ve learned by investigating the afterlife for two decades. If you think that because young people asked these questions, this episode is more cute and less insight, you’d be mistaken. If you haven’t read my book, you’ll still benefit from watching or listening to this episode. All you need to know is that The Magic Mala teaches the power of your thoughts, words and actions, how to set intentions to transform your life, how to recognize guiding signals from the Universe, and how to stop feeling like life is hard and unfair and, instead, harness your own power to improve your life. If you’re interested in learning how to use mala beads, the best way to choose a mala, the people who have inspired me the most, the story of when I first began to use a mala, or how much of the book’s story is true to my own life—just a few examples of what these young adults wanted to know—you’ll enjoy this episode. Although the book has a secondary theme about loss and after-death communication, the questions from this amazing group were more about what I learned about life. I loved having the opportunity to focus on it, which is why I decided to share this with you. I hope you enjoy this brand new episode focused on what I learned about life while investigating the afterlife. Let's have a spiritual conversation about how we've all been grounded for life! And how for the time being, that might not be such a bad thing. Here is the quote from 'Abdu'l-Baha: Verily, God has chosen you for His love and knowledge; God has chosen you for the worthy service of unifying mankind; God has chosen you for the purpose of investigating reality and promulgating international peace; God has chosen you for the progress and development of humanity, for spreading and proclaiming true education, for the expression of love toward your fellow creatures and the removal of prejudice; God has chosen you to blend together human hearts and give light to the human world. The doors of His generosity are wide, wide open to us; but we must be attentive, alert and mindful, occupied with service to all mankind, appreciating the bestowals of God and ever conforming to His will. And another one I reference: One would well remember the story of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, who when approached by a believer in the depths of discouragement despairing of ever acquiring the qualities and virtues that Bahá’ís are required to possess, replied with the greatest compassion and encouragement, “little by little; day by day” - ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Bahá’í World, 12: 704 PATREON ART CLASSROOM: https://www.patreon.com/jacquelineclaireart Join my email list here: eepurl.com/driTHr Check out my online art gallery: JacquelineClaireArt.com Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jacqueline-claire/message

Welcome to Punch Drunk TV. We're a podcast that drinks and yells about television. Do you remember us? It's been a while ... three weeks to be exact. And holy crap so much has happened in the 21 days we've been on hiatus! There was Comic-Con and the TCA Summer Tour but now Jack and Aaron are back, so let's just get into it, shall we? NEWS: Disney will pull all their movies from Netflix at the end of 2018. But hey, they’ll be creating their own stand-alone streaming service that will launch in 2019. After 21 years, Jon Stewart will be starring in his first stand-up special on HBO. YouTube has announced a Karate Kid sequel series, titled "Cobra Kai," starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, reprising their roles in a new half hour comedy. It’ll follow Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence as they manage battling dojos. Former "Walking Dead" showrunner Glen Mazzara will be bringing "The Dark Tower" TV series to the small-screen. It’ll apparently follow the story of the books, which the movie did not do. Netflix has just acquired the rights to Mark Millar’s Millarworld, aka his entire line of comics which includes the likes of "Kick-Ass," "Wanted" and "Kingsman." And others Jack should talk about. Netflix is partnering with Joel and Ethan Coen for an original Western anthology series called "The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs." Told in the Coens’ signature sardonic style, each episode of the series will focus on a different tale of the American West. The Coens will write and direct all six episodes, which will star "O Brother, Where Art Thou’s" Tim Blake Nelson as the eponymous Buster Scruggs, along with “many others.” David Letterman is teaming up with Netflix for a six-episode series of “in-depth conversations with extraordinary people, and in-the-field segments expressing his curiosity and humor.” About the show, Letterman says, “I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix. Here’s what I have learned: if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely.” Lifetime has renewed "UnREAL" for a fourth season, keeping the show on the network through to 2019 Fox has a live musical version of "A Christmas Story" coming in December. It’ll star Maya Rudolph as Mrs. Parker, Ralphie and Randy’s mother. ABC asked Sean Spicer to join the cast of "Dancing with the Stars." Sean Spicer said no. Vin Diesel is out to reboot "Miami Vice" for NBC. According to AV Club, the reboot “will reflect today’s sexy police officers, as well as the many changes the past 27 years have seen in cocaine” MTV is rebooting TRL, aka "Total Request Live," and will premiere on October 2. It’ll be shot at the network’s iconic Times Square studio, which has been expanded to 8,700 square feet to allow for bigger audiences and simultaneous productions that will cater to its new accompanying digital segments. Jack’s favorite show, "The Middle," will end after its upcoming ninth season Hulu is adding the classic TGIF lineup to its service. That’s every single episode of "Full House," "Family Matters," "Step By Step," "Perfect Strangers" and "Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper." Amazon has announced that Prime subscribers can now enjoy their own batch of old ‘80s and ‘90s sitcoms. "Roseanne," "3rd Rock From The Sun," "A Different World," "Grace Under Fire," "Cybill" and "Grounded For Life" will hit the service in August. BBC is working with former "British Baking Show" host, Mary Berry, on a new food competition series. Actor Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock on Gotham Today's Guest: Actor Donal Logue, star of "Life," "Grounded For Life," "The Knights of Prosperity," and "Gotham." (2008) Donal Logue joins the cast of the NBC drama series “Life” this fall. He plays the character of Capt. Kevin Tidwell. My guess is that many of you know Donal than may know “Life.” He starred in a traditional sitcom on Fox, “Grounded For Life” and a non-traditional sitcom, “The Knights of Prosperity,” on ABC. My guess is that NBC is counting on Donal to add a new dimension of familiarity to “Life,” which built a rabid, if small, fan base in its first season and hopes to improve upon it this year. Autumn Reeser showed up at my door with a robin's egg she found in my yard. She carefully carried it so she could show my daughter who happened to be home during our interview that day. She also brought me coffee (*swoon*). That pretty much sums up all you need to know about Autumn. She is kind, thoughtful, and has a way with kids that only moms will understand. Actress Autumn Reeser with her boys Finn and Dash Of course Channing was immediately enamoured with the tiny egg and with Autumn. We all agreed to leave it in a safe space on the front porch and check on it later. My conversation with Autumn was as easy-going as you would imagine after something like that. She was willing to share her experiences being a working actress and mom with a complete stranger and I'm so glad she did. Our mutual friend Mary set us up because she knew we'd have a lot to talk about. I completely geeked out when I realized her first role in television was on Star Trek: Voyager! I tried not to nerd out too hard but that's pretty freaking cool. That was in 2001 and she hasn't stopped working since. She's starred in several shows like Grounded For Life, Cold Case, CSI and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. But most people would probably recognizer her from playing Taylor Townsend on The O.C. In past several years she's had starring roles in quite a few Hallmark movies, and tells me she just got to play her first action role opposite Jean Claude Van Damme. Amazing! I love hearing about moms who are stretching their skills and trying new things. Autumn also shared what life is like as a mom of two very active boys. And one component of motherhood in Hollywood I often forget about are the mom actors who have to travel for work. A lot of projects film outside the LA area. So if you make your living as an actress and you book a job out of town, what do you do with your kids?? She gave me some insights on what she does, and what's changed since becoming a mom in her career. Channing also makes a brief appearance in this episode just to remind the listeners that she's the reason this podcast exists. I hope you enjoy the interviews I bring you and if you do, please take a moment to subscribe to MIH on iTunes and leave me a review. You can follow Autumn to keep up with her upcoming projects on Twitter @AutumnReeser and IG at autumn_reeser.
Rocco fires up the "Hollywood Late Night Hot Tub" for some steamy conversation in-studio with Guest Comedian, Vinnie Coppola, and one of Jurassic Jen's "Besties", Special Guest: working Actor/Host; Iris Almario who you know from shows such as, "NCIS", "Crazy Ex Girlfriend", "The King of Queens", "Grounded For Life", "Jane the Virgin", "Code Black", and most recently, "The People v.s. OJ: American Crime Story". The cast not only dives into the work-life for Iris as a working actor but also into her past life as a Dancer, Pageant Girl, and Miss Latina USA who Rocco describes as always his fave! "Who doesn't love a little Latina Flava?!" Jen Durst and Iris Almario discuss the importance of having "Creepers" on their social media pages and how they have a "Common Creeper" who has a name that they can't pronounce. Jen tells the world about just how picky she is about her men, as Rocco reminds all the women of the world that he has "No Game". Rocco bashes Jen once again for her random facebook friends, and Vinnie gives us his unique perspective on "the Creeper". Rocco and Vinnie also talk about their comedy show once a month in Las Vegas called, "The Mob Men Live", which accompanies the well known youtube series, "Mob Men TV". http://www.mobmentv.com or at https://www.facebook.com/mobmentv/ The cast also plays a game called, "Movie Bytes with Jen and Rocco" where Rocco plays various clips from well known films and the Cast uses "Human Buzzers" to chime in with answers. You can play along with the cast as they guess, but be aware, Vinnie knows every quote, from every movie, and he hates to Buzz IN! This episode is dedicated to pet owners all across the world. We find out Iris's love for animals. Her and Rocco both seem to be allergic to dogs, but they know how important dog rescue is. Animal cruelty is an ongoing issue and we can all help by giving to www.animalhopeandwellness.org or by spreading awareness across the continent. #TheCompassionProject

This Sunday, we will build our last foundational step before diving into the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in earnest as we look at Paul's message in 1 Corinthians 13. For Paul, this last step is the thing that makes or breaks our effectiveness in using the gifts, and if we don't embrace it, it will keep the church from effectively ministering in the power of God's Spirit!

Paul told the Corinthians to live life focused on the prize of eternity and to treat their lives like an athlete treats their life...disciplined and self controlled for the purpose of winning the prize. This Sunday, we will look at Paul's message in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and what it means for us as we step into the life that Jesus has for us!

Paul says, "Imitate me" by truly embracing the life of a servant and steward. In the study of I Corinthians chapter 4 we examine the countercultural lifestyle of servanthood and stewardship.

It has been a difficult week for Vintage. On Sunday we will look at God as a good father in the midst of difficult times and how we remain faithful when shaken.

This week, as we continue our pursuit of maturity as a body, we will look at 1 Corinthians 2 and Paul's message about wisdom. Join us as we begin learning to discern how to live every day according to the wisdom of God rather than the foolishness of man.

Paul is crazy!! In chapter 2, he paints a picture of a life lived in the power of the Spirit of God while celebrating weakness, fear of God and humility. Nothing would have seemed more absurd to his readers, yet they could not deny that God's power had moved through him...they had seen and experienced it! On Sunday, we will look at the message Paul is desperately trying to get through their thick skulls...a life lived for others in the power of the Holy Spirit that requires little on their part but to let God do what only God can do through them. This message of Paul is crucial to our understanding of the rest of his letter, and I can't wait to look at it on Sunday and see how it changes us!

What are you focused on in life? What are your primary energies geared towards on a daily basis? Who or what do you trust to satisfy you? In 1 Corinthians, Paul speaks to a people who have received life in Christ. However, they have sinceshifted their focus and energies, and Paul is writing them to remind them of who they are and what Jesus has done in their lives. As we look at theirlives and Paul's challenge, we will ask ourselves the questions above and see what God wants to move and shift in us to bring about the greatest fulfillment and joy!

Paul says to those he loves, in so many words, "I wish I could speak to you as adults, but I just can't!" The issue facing the church in Corinth was simple...they were not Grounded for Life. In the upcoming months, we will take a journey through Paul's letter to his friends and family as he deals with the issues that are keeping them from growing off of a healthy foundation for life. We will look directly at all the issues he addresses...sexual immorality, broken marriages, disunity in the church, rivalry and competition among friends and family, use and abuse of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and how culture can negatively influence us without us even knowing it! Each week, we will tell the Corinthians' story and see what we need to learn from it so we can be Grounded for Life!!

Donal (long 'o') Logue is currently on one of my favorite TV shows, "Terriers" (a show NOT about dogs) on FX. I want many people to watch this show so the network will make more, because that's how television works. (Somehow, I've still managed to make a campaign for a show I have nothing to do with ALL ABOUT ME and what I want!) You may also recognize Donal from "Grounded For Life," "The Tao of Steve," "Blade," or from 90s era MTV as Jimmy the cab driver. Janet Varney ("Dinner & a Movie" co-host, SF Sketchfest co-producer and Chris Hardwick co-habitator) also sits in.
We catch up with Glen Linford, the 27-year-old man who's been grounded in his home for 15 years.
