K. Sparks discusses in this episode artists that sound like other artists. They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. But in the Hip Hop Industry, imitation is normally frowned upon in a negative light. Individuality is critical to establishing an artists unique story and cementing their place in the music industry. K. Sparks discusses the similarities between Jay Z and Brooklyn New York rapper Angelous that was known to have sounded exactly like Jay Z. Other comparisons made are October London with Marvin Gaye, Nas with Your Old Droog, and Eminem with NF.  Website https://www.ksparksmusic.com/ Twitter https://x.com/Ksparkstv TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@ksparksmusic Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ksparksmusic/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/KsparksMusic/ Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/DiagnosisSuccess/

In the wake of the October 7 assault, more than 700 celebrities signed an open letter pledging support to the government of Israel. On the other hand, the hip-hop community has displayed solidarity with Gaza, with over 600 artists joining the Musicians for Palestine movement.Joining MintCast host Alan MacLeod today to talk about Gaza and the music industry is Immortal Technique. Immortal Technique is an independent rapper and activist widely regarded as one of his generation's most respected and gifted artists. He has used his platforms on social media to constantly speak out about the situation and educate his huge audience about colonialism, capitalism and imperialism. You can follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.Immortal Technique was keen to see the violence in Gaza as part of a bigger picture. “It is a continuation of the political aspirations of not just the United States, but [also] NATO,” he said. Israel has, for many decades, served as the United States' local cop on the beat, an extension of the U.S. empire, hence the unwavering support in Washington D.C.“There are some beliefs among revolutionaries and the left that need to be challenged,” the Peruvian-born MC told MacLeod today. One of them is the anti-Semitic trope that Israel pulls the strings in the U.S. “In reality,” he said, “it is the United States of America that is pulling all the strings for Israel. The United States uses the government of Israel to do the types of things that it cannot do.”Ultimately, though, Immortal Technique argued that Washington is not making ordinary Israelis safer. “The United States cannot really protect Israel; it can only sell them weapons to brutalize their neighbors,” he said. The pair discussed the huge pressures on artists in the entertainment industry to toe the line on Israel and the penalties that occur if they speak out.Luckily for Immortal Technique, his status as an independent musician with no corporate bosses means he can speak freely.  As he explained:If you take the stairs and you fall down, you only fall down a flight. But if you take the elevator and the cable snaps, you are going to the bottom, motherfucker. You hear me? And that's the difference between independence and being in the mainstream.”Support the showMintPress News is a fiercely independent. It's a frequent and unfortunate story in the United States that hip hop artists, often very young, end up getting killed by gun violence. Is there something in the music that leads to this? Is there something in the culture? More importantly, what's the impact of this when it's applied to broader society? To learn more about this, we speak with Adrian Norman. He's an author, news writer, and political commentator. He's also a member of Black Leadership Network Project 21, an initiative of the National Center for Public Policy Research that seeks to promote the views of African Americans whose entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to family, and commitment to individual responsibility have not traditionally been echoed by the nation's civil rights establishment. Adrian shares his take on the violence stemming from the hip hop music industry that is the topic of his documentary “Smoke and Mirrors.” There, Adrian is attempting to shed light on an issue that unfortunately only becomes worthy of mainstream news headlines following the deaths of aspiring rappers. We speak with Adrian about some of the key narratives in African American communities in the United States, the impacts of progressive policies, and how the nation can move forward. ⭕️ Stay up-to-date with Josh with the Crossroads NEWSLETTER

Many people have concerns about the dangers of AI yet, have you ever wondered what machine learning can achieve with the algorithm to your vibes? Rapping robots with data on what you like to hear will be flooding the airwaves in the near future. Why is music artist really hating on FN Meka the 1st AI Rapper recently dropped from Capital Records? Is it really for the casual use of the N-word? Or do they feel that perpetuating negative stereotypes of black America is job best reserved for flesh and blood puppets? Regardless of the hip-hop industry's sentiment, the machine is coming for MC John Henry with no mercy. While FN Meka is a failed infant prototype of things to come, a more refined AI will surely dominate the hip-hop industry. It will write far better naughty nursery rhymes based on listener data and, release material more frequently. An AI-powered artist may drop an album every day, keep up. The machine will dance and sing all night in a holographic form in concert. It will never shoot up a club or go to jail for a frivolous crime and impact production. The machine is more risk-averse, it's more likely to consistently deliver over its flawed human counterparts. Moreover, it will never grow old or die. From a business perspective, AI is a smart move. Where Capital Records fell short another tech-music company will thrive. It may be even black-owned. Else, an amalgamated stereotype of black America will shape black culture for millennia. Black people need to dabble in tech because it's dabbling in every facet of life, even music. 1. How will student loan forgiveness impact the education cartels? Victor Mariachi is representing Chicano Hip-Hop 4 Raza str8 out of Atlanta. Our interview was interesting... gives an outside view on what drives a Rap Artist in present day society through a Chicano paradigm. Attempting to fill a void in the Hip-Hop Community is a strong means of expression for Chicanos. His talent & perserverence I believe is part of his character that transcends Chicano Identity. Our conversation was firme porque this young Vato keeps it real and understands the impact of his message. He might surprise you with his powerful delivery or content as a Lyricist. His personal style is a studied array of some of the greatest influencers to have pioneered Hip-Hop. He along with only a few others carry the Crux of Hip-Hop's Chicano Legacy for the next generation so check out the interview for more details. We need more talented individuals to master the art form since so many of us are listening. It is our obligation 2 support fellow Chicanos when they represent our values and place in the culture of Hip-Hop. Only within this reciprocity should we expect to influence this Music Genre. In return we could own part of the Hip-Hop Industry especially as more artist personify our message as our equity stake. Don't just take my word for it.... Check him out on Spotify or Youtube under "Victor Mariachi"! We definitely need more motivated individuals to express a place for Chicanos in Hip-Hop and he's better than most of the Chicano Rappers out in the game right now. So don't sleep on this brother just because he's not big time yet because I have a feeling he will be! This interview took place on September 22, 2021. The businesswoman, author, singer-songwriter, and non-profit founder, C.Nichole. The Dallas, Texas native, 29-year-old with 96 countries under her belt, stated that her travels fueled Pan African Think Tank, the non-profit on a mission of bridging the gap between Africa and the African Diaspora through Pan African forums that assist with research as a means to collectively advocate. Unlike most organizations, the think tank does on-the-ground research to accurately assess what is needed instead of just coming in with things they think are needed; being resourceful, including people within the community, making self-sufficiency the goal. Forums kicked off last year before Covid-19 in Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, and Brazil. In April 2021, they'll be back on the ground in Western Africa. She understands that education and entrepreneurship are essential tools. C.Nichole is the author of the published books “American Presidential Parties: Their Relevance to People of African Descent” and the children's book “The Reign: Africa” which introduces children to ethnic groups in Africa in a positive light. Using her talents as a singer-songwriter, she recently released Pan African Think Tank Vol. 1 to uplift people of African descent with positive music that also incorporates their history. The first single is the upbeat Tribal Trill genred song, “GHETTO,” which lyrics touch upon things people deem as ghetto in regard to African culture but never was. Episode 029 - Accountability Accountability seems to be something people in today's society lacks. Self snitching is a thing, but for some reason people believe they deserve the right to publicly post things that will incriminate themselves without any repercussions. This week DJ Akademiks made his debut on the new social media app called Clubhouse. He was met with a lot of hostility and criticism by fans and rappers in the Hip Hop Industry. The community wants to solely hold him accountable for a number of claims. Due to his reports/coverage of the streets & the industry, they accuse him of instigating beefs that eventually lead to imprisonment or death. Don't Forget To Like, Comment, Share & SUBSCRIBE . In an industry known for excess, the hip-hop community is banning together to help people reduce. "Feel Rich” is a movement to promote wellness in urban communities.
