Wavves fuses elements of hip-hop, r&b, pop, and electro to create his own unique sound, complimenting his music with an energetic and unrivaled live show. he continues to flood the internet with music videos and singles, including his dark-side-of-partying smash "Weekend Warrior," his swagger-laden "No Pressure," THE dream-chasing anthem "BAD" with Boston's Sammy Adams, AND HIS LATE-NIGHT-DRIVE SOUNDTRACK “UP TOO LATE.” Wavves steadily pumps out consistently high-quality content, while touring nationally and continuing to grow his fanbase. THE RAPPER/SINGER ALSO RELEASED HIS DEBUT EP “NIGHTS ON VINE” IN OCTOBER of 2018, WHICH DEBUTED AT #54 ON THE ITUNES HIP-HOP CHARTS. Mike Squires is a director, filmmaker, photographer & music producer. While in NYC recently, he saw a photo he had taken and a logo that he had designed on a billboard in Times Square. For him it was a reminder that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Born & raised in Stamford, CT, his parents supported his creative endeavors from day 1. Working a landscaping job all summer while he was 16, he saved up enough money to buy used camera equipment. Just two months later, he was on stage shooting Big Sean. One of the hardest moments he faced in his childhood was having his house burn down and losing everything. Instead of letting this experience hold him back it taught him a valuable lesson, that everything is replaceable. Although he knew he wanted to follow a creative career, he attended Norwalk Community College to appease other family members. With time he decided to drop out as he was beginning to get bigger opportunities offered to him. In the past he’s shot videos for artists Sammy Adams, Yonas, Devvon Terrell & two previous guests of this podcast Cam Meekins (Ep 72) and Abstract (Ep 96). Whether it’s through visuals or music production he aspires to inspire the people that support him. In this Episode he discusses why we should never stop learning, his favorite quote “if you do nothing, nothing happens”, the small wins add up, how to build confidence and why we need to believe before the world does. - If you enjoy this podcast, please leave us a 1 sentence review on the iTunes Podcast App with your honest feedback OR screenshot this Episode, post it to your Instagram Story tagging @MikeSquires & @PurposeintheYouth! - Connect with Mike! Jordan Levine is the tour manager for recording artist Bazzi and works alongside Wasted Potential, an all around design & management company in the music industry. Raised in Vernon Hills, Illinois he always had an interest in being involved in the music industry. In high school he began to realize that he could do anything that he wanted and found ways to get involved. He booked his first show, flew in an artist from out of state and brought in 150+ people from surrounding high schools. Although money was lost, it was a starting point for him. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 2016, he locked in a gig to sell merch for Huey Mack on tour alongside Sammy Adams. From there, things started to pick up. He tour managed JMSN, did a one off show with Quincy, traveled 34 cities across the nation + 10 European stops with Witt Lowry and had a chance to be an assistant tour manager for G-Eazy. Today he’s working full-time for Bazzi as they head out on The Cosmic Tour and get ready to head to Europe alongside Justin Timberlake for The Man Of The Woods Tour. In this episode Jordan discusses how your personality, character, willingness to learn and grind is what will land you the right opportunities. Be patient, things won’t always happen right away. The way you carry yourself is key, BE confident and why sometimes we have to roll the dice. - Please leave a 1 sentence review on the iTunes Podcast App with your honest feedback. Episode 44: Just recently back from traveling alongside ‘Party Thieves’ creating video content for his tour in both Australia and India, Matty is living a life that he once dreamed of but never thought it would actually happen. He spent some of his childhood in Irving, Texas and then moved to Berryville, Virginia right outside of Washington, D.C. after his father was beginning to work at a hunting club. In the beginning of his freshmen year of high school, Matty was close to being homeless. His father had lost his job, struggled to find his place and eventually lost their house so Matty would leave and stay with his friends whenever he could. It wasn’t until his senior year when he won a national video contest and was handed an award by American actor and television host Mike Rowe with his friends that he realized maybe he was onto something. Once he graduated, he started working at CostCo and just after twelve months he decided to quit and put all of his time and energy into his passion wanting to see where it could take him. Just ten days later, he was offered an opportunity to tour Europe for the summer with Afrojack and was getting shuttled around from show to show in a private jet. The leap of faith had worked out. Along the way he started working with Boston hip-hop artist Sammy Adams and traveled most of the country documenting the entire journey and recently working with Party Thieves who he will be moving to Los Angeles with in the next few months. Through it all, Matty’s motivation has been to one day be able to give it all back to his father for always finding a way to put food on the table for both him and his five other siblings In this episode Matty discusses what it was like being the youngest of six children, being found by DJ Kap Slap’s manager from a video he had posted on Instagram shot from a cell phone, the lifestyle of living on a tour bus and waking up in a new city everyday, creating his own art and not trying to replicate others, being most grateful for his family and friends, weighing the experience and opportunity in front of him rather than the money he’ll make from it, every person having 100% complete control over their life and always expect the unexpected. — Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for new interviews (and more) weekly: http://bit.ly/2zprpon Follow us on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2hcSBws Subscribe to iTunes: http://apple.co/2yE0u9l Follow us on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2j82AHF Follow Bobbbaaaay on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2Ap24ce Twitter: http://bit.ly/2hj6Ljm
