Oil prices are down big. And if you only looked at the headline, the explanation seems obvious: Iran peace deal, supply normalization, geopolitical risk premium coming out. Except that is not what the market is really saying. Or should I say markets plural. There is a lot going on across various curves that shed a very different light on the crude plunge. Big changes in Treasuries, huge, huge shift in TIPS, more than you'd think, and of course oil prices themselves. Bond yields rose sharply on Friday, but why? What you'll hear is that inflation and a strong economy will force the Fed to hike. But that's only half true – the possibility of the rate hike. All the rest of it, not so much. Both markets and American consumers agree wholeheartedly on all of it. In fact, on Friday, inflation expectations in Treasuries dropped to their lowest levels since early March. Yeah, lowest since the start of the conflict and they were never high to begin with. Shakespeare is famous for his costume changes in his plays, including characters that swap genders and seemingly fool the world as their true identity simply by a change of clothes. Since Shakespeare's playing companies were all male, and still manage to portray some of the most powerful women characters ever created on the stage, we have to think there was indeed great power in costume. What was it about women's clothes versus men's designs that made them instantly recognizable on stage for the Elizabethan era? During this time, women were seeing their fashions change rapidly in the design and function of everything from bum rolls to chin clouts, and even the acceptable necklines of this period. Of course, men were seeing similar transitions in their fashions, with the French introducing English men to the famous poofy shorts that Shakespeare is so famous for wearing. The clothes, along with the sumptuary laws of this period, landed men and women on the wrong side of the law when it came to what they chose to get dressed in each morning. Here today to help us unpack the world of clothing and the laws that regulated them, along with how Shakespeare was able to portray all levels of society on stage without getting into legal trouble, is our guest, and author of the book Fashion in the Time of William Shakewsspeare, SarahJane Downing.

Remember Olaf Scholz? Just about? Remember when he sunk to the lowest opinion poll rating in German political history? Well the good news for anonymous hopeless former Chancellors is that the next beige technocrat in charge of Germany has just beaten his record. Plunging to 89% dissatisfied – with only 11% satisfied. Even with Macron as the most unpopular President ever, Starmer the least popular Prime Minister, Merz is more unpopular still. Our lead question this week is very simple: what the flaming fuck is going on in Germany? Meanwhile, more news just in on Europe's cordless bungee ride: UK bond yields have spiked again. To 5.3% - the highest rate since 1998. They can't go any higher – right? In the four years since the Truss contagion blew up the markets by hitting 5% and toppled the government, it's a good thing the UK Treasury used that period to stop running massive deficits… right? Finally, the global oil market is beginning to resemble Argentina under Kirschner. You've got your official prices; and then your real prices. As reality continues to diverge from the markets, we're asking: who is this mysterious Whale of Hormuz who keeps on fiddling with the international price mechanism? Of course, this being a pay week, you'll need to sign up on Patreon or Substack if you want to hear that bit - only the real heads get to dine on the whole hog. That's easily done - simply go to Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/multipolarity) or Substack (https://multipolaritypod.substack.com/) and sign up. Jim Iuorio explains why fears of stagflation are fading as labor data and falling oil prices reshape the market outlook. He discusses how crude slipping toward key support levels will ease inflation pressures, reopen the door to interest rate cuts, and lift equities. Despite mid-term volatility for 2026, Iuorio argues the underlying resilience of the U.S. economy suggests recent market stress may already be behind us.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. Episode 150: Plunging into the Deep! Unpacking Richard Dolan's "A History of USOs" Welcome back, truth-seekers, to a massive milestone! For Episode 150 of the Rocky Mountain UFO Podcast, we're trading the starry night skies for the mysterious depths of the deep blue sea. Have you ever wondered what happens when flying saucers take a dive? They become Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs)! Today, we are deep-diving into Richard Dolan's mind-bending 2025 book, A History of USOs: Unidentified Submerged Objects. If you thought the skies were crowded, wait until you hear what's lurking in Earth's waterways. Dolan reveals a startling reality: we aren't just dealing with aircraft; we are dealing with highly advanced transmedium vehicles that can transition from the atmosphere to the deep ocean without making a splash, traveling at speeds that leave modern human technology in the dust. Here's what we're surfacing in this episode: The Transmedium Mystery: How these anomalous craft defy physics to seamlessly travel between air and water. Who is Watching Us? Dolan's compelling argument that a non-human intelligence is actively monitoring humanity's naval and technological progress. The 1960s Night Shift: Why these underwater encounters strategically shifted to the cover of darkness starting in the late 1960s. Centuries of Sightings: We explore Dolan's meticulous catalog of data, ranging from heavily classified military reports to the bizarre, historical USO sighting by Christopher Columbus himself! The Evidence Rating System: How Dolan uses a scholarly framework to analyze physical USO effects, including terrifying electromagnetic interference and cases of "missing time." Piercing the Veil: A look at the ongoing government secrecy keeping these underwater anomalies in the dark. Whether you're a long-time ufologist or just testing the waters of the paranormal, this episode provides a systematic, scholarly—and wildly fascinating—framework for understanding one of the greatest mysteries on (and under) Earth. Grab your scuba gear and your tinfoil hats, because we are going deep! Thanks to the band Tidal Riot for doing the remix on the Rocky Mountain UFO Podcast theme song! Some mornings, you ease into the day. Other mornings, you find yourself asking serious theological questions about Easter… while simultaneously learning far more than you ever wanted to know about space toilets. This is one of those mornings. In this episode of What the Frock?, Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod take you on a ride that starts with Passover and Easter traditions, drifts into lunar mechanics and the realities of modern space travel, and then barrels straight into the kind of real-world issues nobody can ignore. Along the way, they tackle everything from the Artemis mission's triumphs and… plumbing challenges… to the growing debate over H-1B visas, corporate decisions, and what it all means for the future of American workers. And just when you think the conversation could not possibly stretch any further, it turns toward the unsettling realities of modern warfare, where drones and artificial intelligence are rewriting the rules faster than anyone can keep up.It is thoughtful. It is irreverent. It is occasionally absurd. In other words, it is exactly what you expect. So whether you came for the humor, the history, or the honest questions about where all this is heading, you are in the right place.Welcome to What the Frock?

He lives in Washington, D.C.Key TakeawaysA person is Seattle or Chicago is now likely to live afull decade less in good health than someone in Tokyo or Singapore.Humans are evolutionarily bred to want to be part of a group and see loneliness as a risk. Loneliness has a direct biological impact on your health, roughly equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.Japan, Singapore, Korea, Italy, and Spain have made social health infrastructure a part of public health policy, especially for older adults. Each has a different approach that is reflective of their own culture and values. You are actively engaged with people when you are social. If you are socially disconnected, you're likely stuck at home, not moving, and not getting social cues from others about how to take care of yourself. In Korea lifelong learning is a constitutional right. Learning in community is important. Lots of people in the U.S consider themselves lifelong learners, but they often learn online or in a solitary way.An organization called the Silver Genzai Human Resources, represents a million Japanese older workers, age 65 to about 102, placing them in part-time work.Plunging birth rates and declining immigration in this USare constricting the traditional labor force. American corporations should be thinking ahead but are stuck in the idea that younger workers are smarter, cheaper, and more technologically savvy. Many cultures value intergenerational relationships because they benefit both young people and older adults. One of the strongestpredictors of success for at-risk youth is having a positive relationship with an older adult outside their immediate family. Creating opportunities for different generations to connect supports healthier outcomes for all.The idea of segregating generations is a weird Americanism that you don't see elsewhere. Countries like Singapore are getting rid of senior centers and replacing them with centers for all ages.

Existing home sales utterly crashed in January. Yes, January is not a great month for real estate shopping and there was obviously less than ideal weather, however those don't explain the 8.4% plunge in transactions. Analysts who were already factoring those other excuses only thought there would be a modest impact from them, not the biggest monthly drop in housing in four years.
