Can children's literature spark conversations around sustainability, health, and social issues? These were the questions posed for the Jom Kita Bincang! (Let's talk about it!) project, which was spearheaded by the Embassy of Sweden in Malaysia, together with the Raja Tun Uda Library, and the Malaysia Board on Books for Young People. The impact of Swedish children's literature on global kids' books has been significant, and over time has moved from "watered-down” or “preachy" to instead encourage children to be thinkers, to dream and to ask questions about the world, with a focus on the “child's perspective.” We speak to His Excellency Dr Joachim Bergström, the Ambassador of Sweden to Malaysia, and Ingrid Källström, a pedagogue and librarian, to discuss the importance and profound impact of Swedish tales on young readers worldwide, and also to find out more about the events offered for Malaysians through the Jom Kita Bincang! project.

Wo befindet sich eine Karnevalistin am 11.11.? „Schön gemütlich auffe Couch“, sagt Ingrid Kühne. Und das hat nix mit Corona zu tun! Denn zum Start der neuen Session sind eher die Musikerinnen und Musiker unterwegs, Rednerinnen und Redner können dagegen kurz durchschnaufen. Tut auch mal ganz gut, denn Freizeit kennt die Xantenerin sonst eigentlich nicht. Wobei… „Mein Job ist auch mein Hobby“, fügt sie schnell hinzu, „für mich gibt's nix Schöneres als auf der Bühne zu stehen.“ Während viele ihrer Kolleginnen und Kollegen nach dem großen Aufritt sich mal ein, zwei Kölsch genehmigen, darf's bei Ingrid lieber eine Cola oder ein Radler sein. Und deshalb stoßen die drei im Podcast auch mit ihrem Lieblingsradler, einem Gösser, an. Prost! Aber jetzt mal ganz ehrlich, wie kommt eine Niederrheinerin eigentlich zum Kölner Karneval? Eine heikle Frage… und bei der Antwort müssen alle Düsseldorfer Jecken jetzt mal kurz stark sein! Ingrid ist eine rheinländische Frohnatur. Doch es gibt auch eine andere, ernstere Seite ihres Lebens. 1998 kam ihr Sohn Sven auf die Welt, kurz darauf erhielt sie die Schocknachricht: Ihr Kind sei „körperlich und geistig schwerstbehindert.“ Sie erzählt, wie sie die Zeit damals erlebt hat und wie gut es ihrem Sohn heute geht. Mittlerweile lebt Sven in einer eigenen Wohnung, wobei er selbst immer sagt: „Mama, sach nicht, ich bin weggezogen, ich bin noch im gleichen Wlan.“ Na dann, Prost! Tänases saates on külas tütarlastekoori Ellerhein dirigent Ingrid Kõrvits ja kultuuritöö korraldaja Sigrid Leppmets, kes jutustavad hiljutisest kontsertturneest Hiina Rahvavabariiki. Kokku oli Ellerheina poolt Hiinat külastamas 41 inimest, suur osa neist alaealised. Kui esialgu tundus, et kõik on Hiina poole pealt ülimalt hästi korraldatud, siis peagi koorus välja, et see pole teps mitte nii. Üks arusaamatus saabus teise järel ning selgus, et välja kuulutatud ajakava ja reaalsus erinevad kui öö ja päev. Kontserdid jäid ära, liiga palju oli niisama vegeteerimist ja varitses arusaamatus, kuhu oli vaja minna... Hiina kontserdikorraldaja polnud kuigi euroopalike tavadega. Selle kõige keskel said lauljad aga tunda end kui staarid. Miks ja kuidas, kuula juba saatest! Vestlust juhib Liina Metsküla.

Als solche zieht sie durch das Land und lässt ihre Zuschauer an ihrem turbulenten Leben teilhaben. Ob Mann, pubertierender Sohn oder die Schwiegermutter, hier bekommen alle ihr Fett weg. Begonnen hat Ingrid Kühne im Alter von 12 Jahren mit Mundarttheater, zu dem sie von ihrer Mutter geschleppt wurde. Auf Karnevalsbühnen fühlte sie sich von klein auf zu Hause, also wagte sie 2010 ein Vorsprechen beim Literarischen Komitee des Kölner Karnevals. Es folgten die ersten 30 Termine in der Saison und eine steile Karriere in der Szene. Diese wurde mittlerweile geadelt: 2014 entschied Frau Kühne den Wettbewerb „Bötschkopp und die Rampensäue“ für sich. Das beflügelte sie zu einer neuen Idee. Warum es in der karnevalsfreien Zeit nicht mit Kabarett probieren? Gesagt, getan. Das erste Soloprogramm wurde ein großer Erfolg in der Region und darüber hinaus.
