Today, Brent, Eliot, and H. Alan ask: is Ariana Grande a racist, transphobic, misogynistic homophobe? A writer at Grindr's news site Into More thought so, penning an extensive, widely reviled (and ultimately redacted) op-ed accusing the pop star of such after watching the video for "Thank U, Next." Comedian Janine Brito then joins the guys to talk about why queer people are obsessed with their pets ...excluding Brent, who refers to H. Alan's cat, Frasier, as "It." And finally, in talking tattoos, H. Alan and Eliot reveal the stories behind how they both ended up getting inked with tributes to The Golden Girls. Learn more about your ad choices. Hola! We are coming to you from around the globe, as James is in Espana and being unapologetically Black overseas, while spreading the gospel about racism in America like a Paul Revere. James is also working like a bastard, why do they work so hard, training for the Avengers 10K, accidentally joining separatist protests, and making a crazy film that may bring in the Spanish new wave of film making. Meanwhile back in the states, Nnekay has fallen in love with a new dog, and her bitch Zelda might not be having it. Also, maybe British Black actors leading American biopics might not be such a bad idea in terms of overseas appeal, aka John Boyega in Detroit, has found a home in Espana. Then we go to the main event: Writer/Comedian (not Comedienne) Janine Brito! We discuss the haunted Poconos Manner, getting lost in the forest, what to do when your family voted for Trump, why you should turn off Reality TV and do something, what's it like to be a lesbian comedian in LA, and create an idea for embroidered pillows on the go! Also someone please call James' mother, and tell her that he is safe in Europe. All this and more!
James is back from the Poconos, making Pizza Delivery guys high kick for a tip and Nnekay is MELTING and shouting from the roof tops that climate change is here and showing it's ugly lil head. Just like Nnekay did in MaxFunCon West, James had a BLAST at MaxFunCon East!!! There he met comedian Cristela Alonzo, and also comedian Janine Brito. He taught people to P.E.E- provoke, enlighten, and entertain and of course... started a Conga Line. James leaves us with some amazing tips from Chenjerai Kumanyika (@catchatweetdown) who spoke at Max Fun Con. In James' Korner he is celebrating Labor Day by talking about and honors the POCs who are normally not recognized all that they do for this holiday. In Nnekay's Korner, she is going over what the DACA Program is, how Trump and Sessions are repealing it, and what people who benefited from this program can do and know what their rights are. We are still gearing up for our 100th episode which means, we're aiming to reach 100 reviews for the drawing for our Minority Korner Care Package, so please keep the reviews coming to be entered into the running! This is Episode 24 of Succotash, the Comedy Podcast Podcast! We’ve got clips. We’ve got the Burst O’ Durst. We’ve got an interview with actor/comedian/artist and podcaster Dean Haglund to talk about his exciting new Kickstarter project. We’ve got a funny song by comedian/songstress/chanteuse Karen Kilgariff from her album “Behind You”. A classic Henderson’s Pants commercial perhaps. And that about it. Dean Haglund A little bit more about Mr. Haglund. Fans of the XFiles and The Lone Gunmen know him as Langley, the gangly long-haired conspiracy wonk. He's also renowned for his improv and standup comedy chops. And Succotashians have heard Dean and his partner-in-podcasting, Phil Leirness, declared by me to be "podcast royalty" (given the tenure of their show Chillpak Hollywood Hour) when I interviewed them back in Succotash Epi4. In addition to those performance nuggets, Dean is also a talented painter and using that skill to create Shock N' Awesome, a graphic novel tracing the adventures and travails of a trio of intrepid journalists that may (or may not) bear a resemblance to three conspiracy theorists you might recognize. This is your chance to jump in and be a part of something cool. Click on the Kickstarter link over there on the right-hand side or just click here. Starting immediately, the Succotash podcasts are being re-broadcast along with a gaggle of other podcasts over Clutch & Wiggle Entertainment, the home of…Clutch & Wiggle. We delighted to be asked to be part of that crew! So now you can add that outlet as well as iTunes, Stitcher and our own homesite as a place to get the latest serving of Succotash! I've been making an effort to drop a bit more comedy-related music into the show. After listening to Karen Kilgariff sing as a guest on the recent 100th episode of the Walking The Room podcast with Greg Behrendt and Dave Anthony, I bought her album, Behind You, from BandCamp.com. And loved it! So I contacted her via Twitter and asked if we could feature her music on Succotash. This epi we start in with her song, Look At Your Phone. What podcast clips have we got on tap for you in Epi24? So glad you asked... Dead Authors Podcast A monthly podcast with Paul F. Tompkins as H.G. Wells, using his time travel technology to bring in deceased authors to mix it up, reveal something of themselves and reflect on our world from their unique perspective. His guests in this clip are Paul Adomian as Friedrich Nietzsche and Paul Scheer as H.P. Lovecraft. Clutch & Wiggle Rob and Craig (you can figure out which is Clutch and which is Wiggle) are likely the only guys doing their podcast from atop an air hockey table. These guys are true podcast enthusiasts. This Week with Larry Miller Larry Miller is still recuperating from a nasty fall he took over a month ago. Our clip is show producer Jeff Fox filling the audience in on Larry's progress and health. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Larry! Laughspin Podcast Editor-in-chief at Laughspin.com, Dylan Gadino, and his co-host Mike Gogen bring the latest in comedy news and the comedy business in general (including podcasts) every week. They're just getting started and this clip is from their Epi3. Give a listen! Comedy A Go Go Our friend Dave Nelson hosts this show which often brings us insightful interview with comedians who perform across the spectrum, from emcess to headliners. This clip is from a recent show featuring W. Kamau Bell, who is still touring with his Laughter Against The Machine show (co-starring Nato Green and Janine Brito. At the same time, he's hosting a new FX TV show porduced by Chris Rock. Cocktails & Kimonos Retep and Big D bring their booming announcer pipes to the podcast world. They're got a point of view on a variety of issues including the ones in this clip that begins with a story about a woman who overdosed on coke...Coca-Cola, that is. The Man Cave Podcast Our first clip this show was from a monthly podcast. Jeff Schaeffer and Bobby Shortle ambitiously host a daily show. It's pretty well put together, too: Regular features, chats about sports, movies and pop culture-y things. This clip is a couple of weeks oldb, but with the success of the Avengers movie, I thought their discussion of how Iron Man might be featured in the film was apropos. Shotgun Storyworthy The monthly gameshow spinoff of the Storyworthy podcast, both hosted by Christine Blackburn and Hannes Phinney, is a hoot and a half. A dozen contestants are given the subject for a story by spinning the show's "Wheel of Truth", and then without any prep time, have to tell their story in one minute. The winner gets a prize. You get a lot of laughs. Burst O' Durst This episode our intrepid pundit Will Durst dips his wit into the steaming pool of Republican vice-presidential considerations. Nasty business. All right. That's it. It's even better than it reads so get listening! As always, please remember to pass the Succotash! — Marc Hershon

Today on the show Danny Lobell is joined by former guests Janine Brito and Peyton Clarkson as special co- hosts. Chris Iacono had his testicle sized tonstacles removed, so he couldn't be present for the show. Illustrator Avery Monsen and Comedian Ian Edwards drop by for a thought provoking show. Danny let's the audience know they are welcome in his house unless they are english, indian, ethiopian, german, brazilian, or any other ethnicity Danny has ever encountered. Avery talks about the verbally abusive woman who actually helped his work out. We put Peyton Clarkson's southern liberalism to the test as he is surrounded by people of different races, religions, and sexual orientations. All this and such questions such as: why can't funeral's be fun?, what happened to the good chicken? , and most importantly who really wrote "Nacho Libre"? Tune into find out . Same "Comical Radio" time and hopefully the same location.
On this episode of Comical Radio Classic Danny Lobell and Chris Iacono are joined by a plethora of guests. The first guest to grace the crew with their presence is Alonzo Bodden. The crew talks about the Peep World downstairs. Alonzo discusses what’s happening to America, covering everything from politics to banks. Danny expresses his hate for Chase bank and the tomfoolery they have put him through. The second guest of the day is Damien Lemon. Danny thinks that America as a whole should have invented their own language when we separated ourselves from Britain instead of mispronouncing words on purpose as an act of rebellion. Damien enjoys taking a step back from technology and the internet every once in awhile to gain perspective and reevaluate his life. Danny gives Chris encouragement about all of the success he’s had in his career thus far. Ken Marino calls in and he and the guys talk about how great it would be to play a video game that is their life. Thomas Dale, a good friend of both Danny and Chris, joins them as the fourth guest of the day. Thomas believes strongly in astrology and enlightens the crew with some of his knowledge, however everything reverts back to him being gay. Thomas and Chris feel a special kinship towards each other because they’re both Italian. Last but not least, Janine Brito joins the crew. She has officially popped her New York cherry but she hasn’t found an apartment yet. Janine explains being a lesbian and growing up in a very religious home. This leads the conversation towards stress tests and scientology. Chris and Danny are searching for a new tag line to end the show with, stay tuned to see what they will come up with!
