SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is all alone to recap Week 7 and work the waiver wire for Week 8. He kicks off the show discussing the impact of injuries and byes on the transactions leading up to Week 7, then he wonders if home field advantage in the NFL is largely dead. Booms of the week and busts of the week are next, with a lot of time spent on surprising performances from the Lions, Cardinals, and Saints. From there, Greg dives into key injuries from Week 7 (19:29). Can the Chiefs' offense maintain high-level fantasy production with Matt Moore under center? How about the Falcons with Matt Schaub at quarterback? Injuries from other positions are also discussed, and those lead right into Greg's assessment of the Week 8 waiver wire (24:27). Which handcuff running backs are most likely to break out next ala Chase Edmonds in Week 7? Do fantasy owners need to give serious consideration to Mark Walton and Brandon Bolden? Is Anthony Miller finally coming around? What's it going to take for DeVante Parker and Preston Williams to crack 25% ownership? Is there any hope left for O.J. Howard? And if not, which other tight ends might offer non-zero production off waivers? Greg tackles all these questions and more, so tune and help make sure he wasn't just talking to himself that whole time. The show is brought to you by FantasyDraft. The guys also interview Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown who had a fantastic game yesterday against the Cleveland Browns. Throughout hour two, Chris and Rob talk MLB playoffs as the ALCS between the Yankees and the Astros is tied 1-1 with the game heading to New York for the next two games. FOX Sports MLB Analyst and World Series Champion A.J. Pierzynski joins The Odd Couple to talk more postseason baseball with the guys. Finally, Cam Newton is cleared to play after the Panthers bye week, so should he take back his starting job or work for his job against Kyle Allen? Plus, Rod Woodson joins the show and what's going on with the Rams and the Chargers? Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com
Many of these topics have been covered coming out of the game: the defense struggling to put pressure on Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson's ability to lead the Seahawks back from big deficits, or Chris Carson continuing to play with his dominant, physical style. Clinton Bonner and Brandan Schulze team up to talk about four particular plays and two themes that may be under the radar coming out of the 32-28 victory. The guys start out by talking about one play by the Seahawks that might be getting more press because of the celebration, rather than the pass by Wilson and the hit that he had to take when delivering the ball to Jaron Brown. SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is joined by Jim Sannes of numberFire. The first half of the show is a recap of Week 6, beginning with a discussion about evaluating non-elite running back types like Mark Ingram and Tevin Coleman and assigning fantasy value based on factors like passing game usage, goal line usage, and strength of their surrounding offenses. They also discuss the value of identifying funnel defenses, the most prominent injuries, booms, and busts of the week. The second half of the show deals with the Week 7 waiver wire (39:03). Will the workload for Jamaal Williams ramp back up in spite of Aaron Jones' recent success? Will Brandon Bolden ever go away? How can we mine value from San Francisco's receiving corps? Is there any hope for tight ends off the waiver wire? Will Ryan Tannehill generate fantasy value in Tennessee? Is Jacoby Brissett or Daniel Jones the better streamer for Week 7? Which widely available quarterback is the best bet for rest-of-season relevance? Who should owners drop this week to make room for new blood? Tune in and hear your hosts' assessments of these questions and all sorts of other waiver wire conundrums. The show is brought to you by FantasyDraft. It was a rollercoaster of emotions for Seahawks fans in this game watching the Rams get out to the early lead following a Jaron Brown fumble on the first possession. Later in the quarter, Russell Wilson connects with Tyler Lockett on an incredible play to put the Seahawks in the lead despite to early scoring drives by Los Angeles. Then it was back to the lows after Seattle chooses to play conservative and settle for a long field goal on 4th and 1. A miss by Jason Myers is followed by two touchdown scoring drives by the Rams and the two teams spend time trading scores in the second half. After Chris Carson bobbles a fourth down catch in the end zone for the go ahead score, it looks like Seattle had the game in the bag after an incredible interception by Tedric Thompson. Unable to get a first down, they give the ball back to the Rams who drive down and get in position for a game winning 44-yard field goal. Adam Emmert joins Brandan Schulze to talk about the highlights from Seattle Seahawks Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams. In the second game of the preseason, the Seahawks pick up their first loss against the Vikings, 25-19. Matty Brown joins Brandan to recap the loss and talk about the biggest takeaways as Seahawks fans had the opportunity to see Russell Wilson on the field against an opposing team for the first time since his record contract. While his time on the field only resulted in a field goal in his two drives, the offense moved the ball well and the game helped to answer a few questions we had going into the preseason. On offense, Lockett stands out as the top receiver and Jaron Brown looks locked into the next spot. David Moore and D.K. Metcalf likely fill out the top four spots. Brandan and Matty talk about why Jazz Furguson isn't likely to get one of those spots, particularly after his performance against the Vikings. Ugo Amadi provided us with one of the biggest highlights from the game on special teams and Poona Ford stood out on defense against the Vikings starting offensive line. Matty talks about his latest article breaking down the play that led to an interception by DeShawn Shead, who provided the only Seahawks touchdown of the game. He also discusses an upcoming article that will focus on what we can expect from opposing offenses in how they'll attack a defense that no longer has Earl Thomas. With Tedric Thompson the presumed Week 1 starter, can he show some of the ball hawking abilities he showed in college? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We start the show with some frustrating news that keeps cropping up in social media with fake player news coming fast and furious this week. Adam and Brandan look back and some of the biggest highlights from the win over the Cowboys. Going through some of the stats from the game, Russell Wilson has been getting the ball out faster from a statistical perspective, but Adam isn't buying that anything has changed apart from him having more protection and plays that don't require as much time to develop. Part of the protection includes the return of D.J. Fluker and he showed an impact in the game this week and Ifedi was able to have a solid game as well only giving up three pressures on the day. Russell Wilson is getting more freedom to control the tempo of the game and one example was the Seahawks first touchdown to Jaron Brown to put the Seahawks on the board in the first half. The Seahawks go back on the road this week for the third time in four games, but to a road location that has been historically favorable in Arizona. The Cardinals are starting their rookie quarterback for the first time this week. Had Arizona actually put Josh Rosen into the game sooner against the Bears this past weekend, they likely would have beat Chicago, because Sam Bradford was awful. He was able to take advantage of some early mistakes last weekend and then the Bears defense shut them down. If you're going to the game be sure to check out the Seahawks Road Crew page for the Sea Hawkers gathering down in Arizona. Check out seahawkerspodcast.com/tickets if you need tickets for the game. Hopefully the 12s will continue to show up on the road in that stadium. In the pickem league, the guys go over the latest standings, and even in a week where there were a lot of surprises, there were people getting double digit wins. One of our pickem league champions emails in to challenge Adam about his gameday attire to suggest it may also be considered of the hobo variety. Closing out the show with do better, Adam looks at some of the latest USA Today power rankings. Brandan calls out some flopping quarterbacks and that leads to a discussion of a foolproof gamepan to take advantage of how the referees are calling penalties. Fantasy Football Podcast: Sonic Truth Ep 80: The Podfather Matt Kelley (@Fantasy_Mansion) and Dave Caban (@DaveCabanFF) remain convinced that Josh Allen will flame out, and Nathan Peterman will start games in 2018. What is the Rob Gronkowski fix? How good was LeSean McCoy last year? Marshawn Lynch has become the most underrated running back in the NFL. Rex Burkhead provides the most upside for the buck. What is Peyton Barber NFL ceiling? CJ Prosise remains a must-stash running back. Javorius Allen is the most underrated satellite back in the NFL. Marvin Jones is the most under-appreciated receiver in dynasty. Ronald Jones is as overrated as Royce Freeman is underrated based on film grinding bias. Ito Smith is a deep sleeper running back for the final rounds of dynasty start-up drafts. Brandin Cooks is wildly overrated in dynasty leagues. What if Chris Godwin is a better player than Mike Evans? Cooper Kupp is a terrific dynasty buy. What if Taywan Taylor is a better player than Corey Davis? Jarvis Landry is somehow the most underrated slot receiver in the league. Paul Richardson is to Josh Doctson what Kenny Stills is to Devante Parker. What Tyrod Taylor finish in the top-5 fantasy quarterbacks. Vacated targets suggest Tyler Lockett is a lock to break out. The Jaguars receiving corps is shaking out to be the Keelan Cole show. The Seahawks fall to the Chargers 24-14 in the second week of the preseason. For getting to 300 members of the flock, we're jumping right in with our quick reaction to this week's preseason game. Concerns on offensive include one particular spot on the offensive line as well as the inability to get into the end zone from the 1-yard-line. The play at right tackle actually had Adam reconsidering a player who he was dead set against just a couple weeks ago. On the positive side, Chris Carson did look good running the ball up to that point and getting the tough yards the Seahawks couldn't get last year. Jaron Brown and David Moore hauled in some big catches from Russell Wilson as our quarterback racked up nearly 200 yards before the half against a good Chargers secondary. The Seahawks defense is where there seems to be more concern for Seahawks fans - which is out of the ordinary. Melvin Gordon ran up the middle without much problem in this game and ultimately punched the ball into the end zone. Special teams also took a hit for the second touchdown in the game to go down 14-6. The guys wrap the show with some predictions about the secondary and at what point Earl Thomas could work his way back into the lineup this season. Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show talking about the Cheifs wide receivers, and how if Sammy Watkins takes any value away from Tyreek Hill. Looking at the Rams wideouts, the guys think Cooper Kupp is being undervalued, with Scott citing his great route running ability. Talking about some running backs, Dane and Scott question the value for Ronald Jones, thinking there is some value in lower rounds for the Bucs rookie. Dane and Scott question if it is better to draft earlier or later in the preseason, with Scott saying later drafts have more up-to-date news, but both have drawbacks. Dane asks Scott about the wide receiver depth in Seattle, with Scott thinking Jaron Brown has "serious sleeper" potential. The guys rank some more fantasy team names, with the latest, "She's Thielen on my Ditka," cracking a few Top 5 rankings. #FNTSY #NFL #fantasyfootball #Chiefs #Rams #Bucs #RonaldJones #CooperKupp #TyreekHill #SammyWatkins #DavidJohnson #JaronBrown #TylerLockett #Raiders #AmariCooper Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers

DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take the Thursday podcast discussing cash game plays for Week 5 on FanDuel and DraftKings. They discuss how tonight’s Thursday game actually has a ton of fantasy viable plays including Brady, Jameis, Evans, Hogan and more. Then they go through quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson who look like great plays on the main slate of games. It’s likely going to make sense paying up at running back as well with Le’Veon Bell and Todd Gurley likely seeing high ownership in Week 5. They go a little cheaper at WR with Keenan Allen, DeAndre Hopkins and Jaron Brown as a punt on FD. All of this and more on a Week 5 cash game podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings. We’ve hit the quarter-pole of the 2017 NFL season, and with it the first fourth of this year’s fantasy regular season. And just like the three weeks before them, Week 4 was a wild one that left many fantasy owners reeling. In Week 4 alone we saw… A rookie quarterback (Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans) roll up over 300 passing yards and five total touchdowns in a historic rout of the Tennessee Titans. We watched New York Jets tailback Bilal Powell jump off the fantasy scrap heap to roll up 163 rushing yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was lost to a season-ending injury. And we saw Atlanta Falcons wideout Julio Jones go down with a hip injury, while the receiver leaderboard in Week 4 was littered with the likes of Devin Funchess of the Carolina Panthers and Jaron Brown of the Arizona Cardinals. Another wacky week has plenty of fantasy owners sitting as 2-2, 1-3 or even 0-4 and scratching their heads with one hand while balling their fist to shake at the teams sitting pretty at 3-1 or 4-0. But whether you fantasy season has started off well or anything but, there’s still plenty of time to turn things around (or watch them fall apart.) You have to stay after it if you want to have a strong October – especially with the bye weeks about to begin. So join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Wednesday, October 4 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down everything you need to know to get a W in Week 5. Come on in – the water’s FINE. The Arizona Cardinals got the ship right, at least for a week, when they got a 17-14 come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. They got a key contribution from running back Kerwynn Williams and big plays from Alex Okafor, Jaron Brown and Deone Bucannon, with an assist on a replay. On the show, Jess and Seth talk about the good and the bad from the game, discuss the play of Jonathan Cooper, who got his first NFL start and also debate whether Williams is the answer to the running game the rest of the way. They look at the road ahead and the possibilities of the postseason after getting to 10 wins. They also talk about the upcoming game on Thursday against the Rams.
