The Bengals are unlikely to have any changes to their specialist positions with punter Kyle Huber, kicker Randy Bullock, and long snapper Clark Harris all returning. Still, the loss of Clayton Fejedelem, who was the punt team’s personnel protector among many other special teams roles, will be felt. In this video I talk about key special teams players including Cethan Carter, Brandon Wilson, Jordan Evans, and Stanley Morgan Jr. I also talk about the kick returners, Wilson and Darius Phillips, and punt returner Alex Erickson. Darrin Simmons is the assistant head coach/and special teams coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals. Simmons is now in his 17th season with the team and stands as the longest-tenured coach on staff. Over his Bengals career, Simmons' work with the special teams units has helped re-write the team's record book. Simmons has guided P Kevin Huber to the top spot in every career punting category, including attempts (768), yards (34,618), gross average (45.08), net average (39.79) and inside-20s (266). Under Simmons' direction, Huber has notched the top five seasons in team history for net average and inside-20s, and the top four seasons for gross average. Snapping to Huber for a majority of his career has been another Simmons protégé, LS Clark Harris, who entering 2019 has 1428 career snaps without an unplayable delivery.Simmons' special teams units have also excelled in the return game. He's coached three of the Bengals' top four leaders in career punt return average — leader Adam Jones (11.38), second-place Quan Cosby (9.99) and fourth-place Peter Warrick (9.74) — and four of the team's top six leaders in career kickoff return average — leader Adam Jones (26.35), second-place Alex Erickson, fifth-place Bernard Scott (24.48) and sixth-place Glenn Holt (24.27).Last season under Simmons, the Bengals ranked seventh in punt return coverage (10.7), fifth in kickoff return average (24.9) and ninth in punt coverage (7.3 yards/return). Also, WR Alex Erickson averaged 26.2-yards per kickoff return, the fourth-best single-season mark ever by a Bengal. In 2017, Simmons helped Harris to his first-career Pro Bowl. The veteran LS had 143 snaps (89 punts, 54 placekicks) without an unplayable delivery, and recorded four special teams tackles. In 2016, Simmons guided Erickson's unexpected rise from college free agent to the AFC kickoff return title, with a 27.9 average (on 29 returns). Although he did not make the Pro Bowl, Erickson ranked second in the NFL, and his average was the second-best in Bengals history, behind only the NFL-leading 31.3 mark that CB Adam Jones posted under Simmons in 2014. Erickson became the first Bengal with three KOR of 65 or more yards in a season. In 2015, HB Cedric Peerman made the Pro Bowl as a kick coverage and return-unit performer. Peerman's 17 tackles tied for the Bengals' highest total since 2008, and he had 13 solo stops, leading the Bengals to a No. 3 NFL ranking in opponents' average drive start on kickoffs (20.2 yard line).Simmons guided Huber to the Pro Bowl in 2014, after he posted franchise records for gross (46.8) and net (42.1) average, re-setting club marks he already held. Also in '14, Simmons helped Jones to the NFL lead in kickoff return average, with a team-record mark of 31.26, along with a second-place finish in punt return average (12.0). Jones just missed becoming the first player since Detroit's Mel Gray in 1991 to lead the league in both categories.Simmons' Bengals special teams have shown a nose for the ball, forcing 27 fumbles in his 16 completed seasons. The 1.7 average comfortably outpaces the 1.0 norm for the nine seasons prior to his tenure. In this wide ranging discussion we talk about:- Family- The Importance of Hard Work- Handling Pressure- Routines- Preparation- And LeadershipEnjoy the show!

SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is all alone to recap Week 7 and work the waiver wire for Week 8. He kicks off the show discussing the impact of injuries and byes on the transactions leading up to Week 7, then he wonders if home field advantage in the NFL is largely dead. Booms of the week and busts of the week are next, with a lot of time spent on surprising performances from the Lions, Cardinals, and Saints. From there, Greg dives into key injuries from Week 7 (19:29). Can the Chiefs' offense maintain high-level fantasy production with Matt Moore under center? How about the Falcons with Matt Schaub at quarterback? Injuries from other positions are also discussed, and those lead right into Greg's assessment of the Week 8 waiver wire (24:27). Which handcuff running backs are most likely to break out next ala Chase Edmonds in Week 7? Do fantasy owners need to give serious consideration to Mark Walton and Brandon Bolden? Is Anthony Miller finally coming around? What's it going to take for DeVante Parker and Preston Williams to crack 25% ownership? Is there any hope left for O.J. Howard? And if not, which other tight ends might offer non-zero production off waivers? Greg tackles all these questions and more, so tune and help make sure he wasn't just talking to himself that whole time. The show is brought to you by FantasyDraft. Karin's client, Alex Erickson, found a new career path amongst his clutter and is now a practicing KonMari Consultant trainee. Today’s guest is Alex Erickson. Alex is a personal fitness trainer in the process of completing his KonMari consultant certification. Prior to this, he was a professional model. Alex and his husband, Edgar, decided to tidy their new home together using the KonMari Method after their recent wedding. Alex enlisted Karin to help him with the KonMari process in their Brooklyn home (they've recently moved to Manhattan). Not only did he do an amazing job with the process and was delightful to work with, he was so inspired by the KonMari Method, that he decided to pursue becoming a consultant on his own. He recently completed the KonMari consultant training seminar last October and is now working on his practice sessions towards certification. In this episode, follow Alex along his journey toward tidying his home with his husband, Edgar, as they learn about themselves and each other. He'll also share how he decided to become a consultant and what he has experienced with his first clients on the way to certification! To connect with Alex, you can find him on his new Instagram @hotmessorganizers. His email address is: alexandererickson@yahoo.com His new KonMari Consulting business is called Hot Mess Organizing. How Alex used Marie Kondo’s quote,“The question of what you want to own is actually the question of how you want to live your life.", to help motivate him to move forward with the process. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing How Alex used a Big Box to help with the sorting process. It really worked! Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up How this quote helped Alex decide to become a KonMari Consultant himself: “The true goal should be to establish the lifestyle you want most once your house has been put in order.” The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing Alex’s Favorite Tidying Tips: Designate a temporary area for things that need to be sorted as you are working through the process. Keep in mind that any item in any category can feel sentimental, so save them for last. What sparks joy for Alex: Our big Chinese Good Luck cat! But, most importantly, my husband, Edgar! Gems: “As long as you have a somewhat open mind, you will be perfect for the KonMari method.” “You’re getting rid of a safety blanket. I had to let go of a lot of false security.” “It forced me to hold myself accountable for my own actions. I can make sure that my own items are tidy.” “When you face the clutter in your house, you are facing yourself.” “I did a fearless inventory of the material items I possessed.” You can find Karin Socci at The Serene Home You can find Kristyn Ivey at For the Love of Tidy Special Guest: Alex Erickson.

The Wisconsin Badgers are your 2014 Big Ten West division champions! They will face the Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday. How will the Buckeyes respond to the loss of J.T. Barrett, and what should the Badgers' defense prepare for? Will Melvin Gordon run wild on the Ohio State defense? Can Joel Stave, Alex Erickson, and the Badgers' passing game continue making strides? Plus, we'll recap Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady's showdown, as the Green Bay Packers defeated the New England Patriots 26-21 Sunday afternoon.
How did the Wisconsin Badgers dominate the Maryland Terrapins Saturday afternoon, and how will the four new verbal commits help the Badgers down the road? We'll ask BadgerNation.com's Ben Worgull at 8:30 p.m. CT. We'll also play post-game audio from Derek Watt and Marcus Trotter, along with audio from Monday's press conference from Alex Erickson and Sam Arneson. We'll also look at the Green Bay Packers blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints. What was worse, the odd playcalling or the injuries that decimated both sides of the ball?
Coming off the bye week (and into Bowling Green game week) Rich and Max address their past criticisms of Marcus Trotter and Alex Erickson (aka #Abbrederickson). They also discuss the Badgers frightening lack of depth at running back, the future of Joel Stave, what the larger meaning of a convincing win against Bowling Green would be, and even find time to indulge Max's MAC fetish for a solid eight minutes.
Coming off a solid performance against the Western Illinois Leathernecks, Rich and Max delve into the finer points of the Badgers' 37-3 victory. They gauge the progress Tanner McEvoy has made as a passer, evaluate Alex Erickson as a receiver, and even sing the praises of the defense. They even find time for listener mail and play some user submitted feedback from a very special listener!
