Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes. While it may come as no surprise, the biggest Marvel news this week is still just as exciting as it is obvious with the revelation that Chris Evans will indeed appear in Secret Wars. While not officially confirmed by Marvel, the news broke via a social media post from March 26, that is just now gaining notice, with the actor himself telling Instagram user @comicconmomsi, "I can tell you that...I start work on the next one in a couple of months, I can tell you that," in a video message. That tracks with the projected August production starting date for Secret Wars we've discussed previously. While rumors and speculation are typically not our forte here, the rumor mill surrounding The Batman II cast warrants some attention. In May, we discussed headlines from sources like Variety and The Wrap that seemingly confirmed Sebastian Stan had been cast as Harvey Dent, as he had long been rumored to be, with Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance announced as Dent's wife and father, respectively. In hindsight, those headlines resulted from Matt Reeve's social media post where he confirmed and welcomed a number of actors as part of the film but did not actually reveal any roles. In the last week, industry insider Jeff Sneider has suggested that his sources claim that Stan will instead play Victor Zsasz and Brian Tyree Henry is set to portray Harvey. Steven Spielberg has returned to the blockbuster arena for the first time in eight years with Disclosure Day, his UFO sci-fi thriller starring Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor, which opened to approximately $44 million domestically and $93.9 million globally, making it his biggest opening weekend ever for an original film. Meanwhile, Obsession continues its extraordinary run, adding another $19 million in week five for a domestic total of $188.3 million. Spielberg's $115 million production earned strong reviews and a B CinemaScore.Sony has released the trailer for The Social Reckoning, Aaron Sorkin's sequel to The Social Network. Jeremy Strong stars as Mark Zuckerberg alongside Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Bill Burr. The film opens October 9.Peter Sarsgaard has joined the Season 3 cast of HBO's The Last of Us in a recurring role. He will play an original character named Amon, one of the leaders of the Seraphites. Production is currently on a planned hiatus to accommodate World Cup matches filming in Vancouver. It: Welcome to Derry writer Jason Fuchs has been tapped to write a new untitled Transformers script for Paramount and Hasbro.Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube are in talks to return for 24 Jump Street at Sony Pictures, reuniting most of the original production team.Apple TV+ has renewed horror comedy Widow's Bay for a second season ahead of its season finale this week, and has signed creator Katie Dippold to a multiyear overall deal.Jason Momoa has made clear he has no interest in a PG-13 Lobo solo movie. In an interview with Collider, he said if he makes a standalone Lobo film, it will be rated R, full stop, though he's open to appearing in ensemble DCU projects in the meantime.Peter Serafinowicz has been cast as Peeves the Poltergeist in HBO's Harry Potter series.Anya Taylor-Joy has joined the cast of the upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel The Hunt for Gollum, playing an elf character named Seren.Marvel Comics will publish a one-shot crossover this September titled The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe, celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show by teaming Muppets characters with iconic Marvel heroes.Mark Hamill is joining Peacock's Twisted Metal for Season 3 in a recurring role, playing the father of Sweet Tooth.Chris Sanders, co-creator and co-director of the original Lilo & Stitch animated film, will direct Disney's live-action sequel Lilo & Stitch 2. Upset, Kirsty just wants to know that this time the pregnancy will go well. Back at Willow Farm she decides to excitedly confide in Kate that she's 10 weeks pregnant with Erik's baby. She wishes she was at 40 weeks already. Although Kate offers cautious optimism, Kirsty repeats her worry – why did her last pregnancy go wrong and what can she do to stop this happening again?Natasha spots some of Tony's unused tools in the packing shed and wonders if she could sell them online and split the proceeds. She's stopped in her tracks by the pre-school group chat – Loxley Barrett has received a negative OFSTED report. Tom advises her not to panic – after all Martha, Rosie, Xander and Jack are all doing well there. Natasha feels Nova would be fine anywhere, but Seren lacks confidence and they can't afford for her to be overlooked in a stretched school. On calling the school, Natasha's appalled to hear that the head is on long – term sick leave and the deputy did not defend the report. They need to start researching other options, even if they have to travel. She brings up the question of private schools – but how would they afford that, especially for twins? Tom suggests taking one step at a time – and to avoid telling Pat, who has strong opinions on private education.

Seren was doomed to a country club cage and a leash of pearls until out of the blue on a Tuesday night in 1969, she found herself suddenly saying “no.” More than fifty years later, she looks back on her life and each choice that followed, beautiful, tragic and completely her own. She shares her own harrowing experience of being stabbed by an assassin and her subsequent conversion to Christ. Joel describes his role as a pastor at their church plant and the challenges of working in rural Taiwan. Throughout the conversation, they delve into the concept of Christian nationalism and its relevance to Taiwan. ***Here's the latest newsletter sent by the Lintons to their supporters:Taiwan Prayer Letter of Joel and Judy LintonApril 2026Dear praying friends and family,Happy Resurrection Day!, which in one sense I could say every Lord's Day. This year we celebrated with one of our supporting churches as we have been support-raising in the U.S for two months. We've already spoken at 5 churches and we are planning to visit 6 more in five states. I need to increase my own support levels, and I'm hoping to pick up at least two more supporting churches. Also we are raising money for our Yilan church's building fund. And we have one other reason to be in the U.S. as our third daughter Ashlyn is graduating from college. Last week we got to see her perform a Rachmaninov piano concerto with a full orchestra. It was amazing! And it was the first time in two years our entire family was able to be together. (We took a picture together after the concert. See attached.)Please pray for out time here. After driving back down from Michigan, a letter was waiting for me in the mailbox: I have been called up for jury duty on a capital murder case. I wrote the court and the judge requesting to be excused but have still not heard back. If I have to serve jury duty, that will affect so many plans. I'm also concerned about being able to attend Ashlyn's graduation. Please pray that the judge will excuse me.Pray also for Liam Carr and his family. They are our newest Mission Sending Service long-term missionaries and are awaiting Taiwan's government to issue them a visa so they can move to Taiwan. The Carrs have also been raising support and are not yet to full levels. Pray for their move this year and their adjustment to living in Yilan County and full-time language study. Vilhelms Vācietis: Man šķiet, ka visi skaņdarbi koncertā varētu būt centrālie skaņdarbi jebkurā citā programmā.

Katra no melodijām bija īpašā godā. Raugoties pagātnē, gribas secināt, ka šī interpretācija būs bijusi viens no neredzamajiem Andra Veismaņa karjeras virzītājspēkiem. Sekoja triumfāla interpretācija slavenākajai no Antonio Vivaldi trim "Gloria" – Re mažorā, RV 589. Uzreiz jāmin Cēsu Pils kora devums šī venēciešu dižgara šedevra iedzīvināšanā. Pateicoties lieliski sagatavotajam korim, Veismaņa žests absolūtā pazemībā Dieva vārda priekšā varēja izteikt vārdos neizsakāmo. No sirds. Viņi nospēlēja 12 dziesmas – "Big Me" arī. Laiks tovakar Sietlā bija 55°F (ap 13°C) – nekas neparasts. Lija lietus, un veidojās migla. Komponiste un tobrīd Valmieras Mūzikas skolas skolotāja Līga Liepiņa (tolaik Kaņepe) laikrakstā "Liesma" vēstīja: "Sala spēcīgais kniebiens un bagātīgais sniega birums jaunā gada sākumā – tas bija diezgan negaidīti, bet V Senās mūzikas festivāls Valmierā no 3. līdz 7. janvārim – ļoti gaidīts. [..] Par spilgtāko sniegumu klausītāju lielākā daļa atzina Vidzemes kamerorķestri ar V. A. Mocarta "Mazo naktsmūziku" un A. Vivaldi "Gloria", kur diriģenta Andra Veismaņa (Rīga) vadībā orķestris apvienojās ar Cēsu Pils kori, kuram šī sadarbība bija visveiksmīgākā." RIP Jeff Burke -- I am so sad to see you leave us. We are bassoonless. Jeff Burke was a beautiful soul, a true original, and giant among us. I mean, he played the bassoon and Theremin! I remember asking Bob Wiseman: "Do you know any bassoon players in town?" ...and the rest is a rich history. I'm forever grateful to Bob for helping forge that connection, and to Jeff for every musical adventure we had together. I cherish each of them. When the Sun Ra Arkestra came to Toronto, Jeff quickly put on the space smock and joined the band. They tried to abduct him back to live with them in their interstellar jazz house. Jeff was honoured to be asked, as you could imagine. But he stayed in Toronto, wanting to be close to his daughter Seren, his family, his partner Juliann, and of course, the community of musicians that he knew and loved. That was JB. He was famously late for gigs, but I quickly realized that the art of booking Jeff was one of deep anticipation. Who gives a shit about time, the downbeat, the venue, or the gig, even? The excitement of when he'd eventually arrive through those doors, with his giant duffle bag of tricks, his slightly broken glasses, dangling together with a piece of piano wire -- a true magician. In the end, Jeff was never really late, as Gandalf reminds us: "A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to". He was a beautiful man and always added such joy to any stage or space that we ever shared. He once played all of Master of Puppets on the bassoon at The Brampton Indie Arts Festival, and of course, when I arranged Rush "A Farewell to Kings", his bassoon loomed large. Of course, he's the very first episode of my podcast, Industry Tactics. He's a dear friend, who I will hold with me, as I move forward both on and off the stage. In 2008, The Lollipop People lived together for a week in Montreal when we were presenting The Friendly Rich Show. It was so special being in Jeff's orbit; he'd stay up all night talking on the phone, or re-reading some Dan Brown novel he had already read. Jeff squeezed the most out of life, and when he hugged you, that was an instrumental part of the squeezing. His epic hugs would last forever, and I wish I could have one more. I know so many of us in this city love Jeff Burke and are so thankful to have known him. He will never be forgotten, legendary busker, creative musician, caring father, sci-fi lover, gentle human. Safe passage, fellow dreamer.

Browns Brook Park stadium saga among top local stories of 2025 | Reporters Roundtable

The Sound of Ideas

We begin our look back on the top stories of 2025, pretty much where we left off at the end of 2024, with the Browns and the team's planned move to Brook Park for a new covered stadium and mixed-use development. Over the course of the last year, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne battled the Haslam Sports Group over everything from the Modell Law -- which is meant to make it hard for Ohio teams to move from their home cities -- to the height of the stadium to a refusal to kick in public money. By December the fight was all but over, the Browns are moving to Brook Park, without county money but with $600 million from the state. The county remained steadfast in refusing to kick in any funding, and the Browns moved forward without it. The story begins our retrospective of the top local stories of 2025. We will cover the top statehouse stories in a year ender that will drop next week. The Akron Public Schools went through a rapid change of leadership in the spring after months of controversy and complaint about the actions and management style of Superintendent Michael Robinson. In April, the board accepted his resignation, after less than two years on the job. Then, it immediately hired his successor without conducting a search. East Cleveland had had three people serving as mayor in 2025. Brandon King, mayor when the year began, was convicted on public corruption charges in May and removed from that job. Before that, while facing trial, Sandra Morgan was appointed interim mayor. Once he was convicted, the charter called for Council President Lateek Shabazz to become the mayor. He was defeated in November by Morgan, who will return to the mayor's office. The mayor's office in Cleveland Heights was a revolving door this year. Voters recalled the city's first elected mayor, Kahlil Seren, in September. The recall vote resulted from a tumultuous period in Cleveland Heights City Hall that saw Seren and his wife accused of creating a hostile work environment. Seren denied those accusations. Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase, the superstar closer, and Luis Ortiz, a starter with promise, were suspended with pay in July as part of a Major League Baseball investigation into betting. By November, the pair had been indicted on charges they rigged pitches to help bettors win "prop" or situational bets. The two now face trial in May. Residents around the Shaker Lakes, who already saw Horseshoe lake drained, have rallied against a proposal by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District to drain the remaining Lower Lake and turning, that, too, into parkland. The sewer district, responsible for spending on flood control, had planned to replace the lower lake dam, but said new data showed draining the lake would be the best, and most economical, flood control measure. The "Sound of Ideas" brought together stakeholders for a Community Tour discussion in August. So kannst du Cremes, Seren & Co. endlich transparent miteinander vergleichen. We're back for part two of an eye-opening, soul-stirring conversation with Seren Bertrand. We're talking sacred sexuality, feminine energy, and that beautiful, mystical power that lives in your body, especially in your vulva. Seren shares her own story of reclaiming her sensual energy and reminds us why our bodies are not only wise, but sacred. If you've ever felt disconnected or just a little curious about what it means to feel truly alive and sensual in your skin again, you're in the right place. Seren is the brilliant Author of Womb Awakening and a guiding voice in the feminine awakening space. She has this incredible way of weaving ancient wisdom with real-life, grounded practices that help you reconnect with your body in a way that feels both magical and doable. We talk about how to release old energy that may be lingering in your womb space, how to connect your heart and womb through breath, and why your vulva has always been more sacred than you were ever told. This one's deeply personal, tender, and empowering all at once. And hey—while you're pouring love back into your body, don't miss my new favorite daily ritual: Mighty Maca Mango. It's the same powerful blend you know and love, now with a zesty twist that's perfect for summer—sparkling, iced, or even made into popsicles. It's as refreshing as it is nourishing. Go check it out at dranna.com—you're going to love it.   Key Timestamps: [00:00:00] Introduction. [00:04:19] Sexual sovereignty and self-exploration. [00:10:22] Alchemizing pain and pleasure. Menopause can feel like everything's shifting—your body, your emotions, even your sense of who you are. It's not just a phase to get through, it's an invitation to slow down, listen in, and reconnect with the deeper wisdom within. In this conversation with Seren Bertrand, the award-winning Author of Womb Awakening, we talk about what it really means to step into this next chapter as a woman. Seren has walked with thousands of women through their feminine awakening and brings such grounded, mystical wisdom to the table. We talk about the “Dark Goddess” showing up at age 28, the sacred timeline of our womb, and why menopause is so much more than an ending—it's a beginning. Seren isn't just an author—she's been a fashion editor, a cultural storyteller, and a feminine wisdom keeper for over two decades. She shares beautiful, ancient practices that honor the wise woman archetype and shows how this stage of life can be full of magic, not just symptoms. We talk about things like the shift from the birth womb to the diamond womb, why sensuality doesn't disappear—it evolves—and how this season can actually turn up the volume on your intuition and purpose. Whether you're nearing menopause or already in it, or even just curious about what's ahead, I think you'll feel seen in this one.
