Tónlist í þættinum Bakkelsi / Baggalútur (Bragi Valdimar Skúlason) Waterloo Sunset / The Kinks (Ray Davies) Afturábak / Moses Hightower (Magnús Trygvason Eliassen, Steingrímur Karl Teague og Andri Ólafsson, texti Andri Ólafsson) UMSJÓN GUÐRÚN GUNNARSDÓTTIR OG GUNNAR HANSSON
Episode 72. After two-and-a-half years of consistent podcast production, I am taking a short break. To ensure you have something to listen to, I am re-releasing episodes. You are also welcome to look through the back catalogue and listen to other episodes you might have missed. Thanks as always for your interest and support. Today's re-release is episode 53, featuring Abdur-Rahman Syed. Abdur-Rahman, a Muslim raised in Karachi Pakistan, he currently lives in three countries, carrying the richness of his interreligious extended family and early experience of adjusting to various cultural environments. Fortified by these formative years and his years in marketing, Abdur-Rahman is creating a book called Prophetic Persuasion. Using words of four prophets from the Abrahamic faiths, he stresses the value of common messages through which people can influence others and establish a moral compass. In conversation, we explore the challenges of bringing such sources into the workplace and how to balance uniqueness of vision and need to find common ground among other things. A note from my guest, Abdur-Rahman: “Meli and I approached our conversation with caution given the backdrop of the escalating Israel-Palestine war. I fear I was too cautious in distancing myself from the conflict. While some things are complex, others are simple. We must continue to seek dialogue while also speaking for justice and for peace.”Highlights:· Prophetic Persuasion elements derived from biblical and Quranic prophets: Moses, Jesus, Joseph, and Mohammed· Framework: listen, give, connect, imagine, invite, love. · Enriching lives and providing a moral compass in the business world · Challenges of discussing faith in the workplace· Business application of the ‘Listen before you speak' principle.· Risk of selectively interpreting scriptures and traditions· Different interpretations based on proximity to the sourceSocial Media links for Abdur-Rahman Syed:LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/abdurrahmansyedWebsite – www.propheticpersuasion.orgSocial Media links for Méli:Talking with God Project LinkedIn – Meli SolomonFacebook – Meli Solomon Transcript: Follow the podcast! The Living Our Beliefs podcast offers a place to learn about other religions and faith practices. Listening is a big theme of this episode. Speaking to seven seventeen year old students in Karachi Pakistan was fascinating. I asked them “ if the expedition delivers an approach to leadership that resonates with women, what would it need to do to resonate with their generation and geography” Some think that listening was their generations super power, they will listen to hear and not to give orders. Others that their generation needs to learn to listen to understand and not just to reply. All agreed that either way they would be better listeners than their mothers. We also covered the difference between a boss and a leader. How the expedition must not only teach them to collaborate but also to fight. How life of young women in Karachi is locked up. And we spoke of their rage. If cultural intelligence comes from listening to people in very different geographies, it also comes big time from people who are a third of your age .

Dictator. Dick-Tater. Richard Potato. That's it…that's the entire train of thought that led to this episode title. God help us. Wes opens Episode 4 with a dive into grandparents' appreciation— the boys regale each other with various tales of grandparent experiences from the past in the form of sandwiches, Karachi (Pakistan), golf cart hit-and-runs, and the History Channel. The Weekly Writing Prompt was taken from Reddit user zxcxdr: Every Saturday of your life you've spent in the park, playing chess against the same nice old man. Today you beat him for the first time. You smile at him triumphantly, until he says "Finally. Good luck!" And dissolves. The boys take the prompt and run, story-crafting a scenario in which Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter universe enters the greatest international Wizard's Chess tournament the world has ever seen. With every major city's landmark buildings as the chess pieces, Ron embarks as London, England's official champion as he takes on a titanic quest of cities battling cities. Wes brings us the first story of the show. The Blade of a Princess by Word_Devourer is a wonderfully crafted fanfiction of the timeless classic, The Princess Bride. This meta interpretation very cleverly reimagines the beginning of the original story in modern COVID times. The story itself explores a despairing Buttercup swearing revenge upon the pirate killers of her true love. Rhys follows suit with the first Jimmy Neutron story featured on the podcast (it's about time, honestly). The Other Side of Tomorrow by author AntiqueDreams explores the failure of Jimmy's latest teleportation experiment. With him and the Retroville gang (comprised of Sheen, Carl, Cindy, and Libby, and Goddard) plunged into an alternate reality, they become entangled in a deadly conflict and slowly begin to piece together a vision of their own future far too terrible to imagine.

There many cricketers of Indian and West Indies were managed and betting was one on a very high level. This started after 1985 and there are visuals of Dawood present at several cricket matches. And till date cricket betting is one of the prime business of the D gang. Bollywood connection Dawood became so powerful that every film industry member was in touch with him. They were attending parties as well. As no one had guts to say no to Dawood at least till 1993 Mumbai bomb blast. He produced several Bollywood movies on name of others and profit share was given to Dawood. He was dating many Bollywood actress. I wont name an actress but she had a long affair with Dawood. I think leaving few all actors have made appearances in Dawood parties. Even today Shakeel is taking care of financing Bollywood movies.
