Bio-  Aiman Erbad is an Associate Professor and the ICT division head in the College of Science and Engineering, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU). Prior to this, he was an Associate Professor at the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department and the Director of Research Planning and Development at Qatar University until May 2020. He also served as the Director of Research Support responsible for all grants and contracts (2016-2018) and as the Computer Engineering Program Coordinator (2014-2016). Dr. Erbad obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (Canada) in 2012, a Master of Computer Science in embedded systems and robotics from the University of Essex (UK) in 2005, and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle in 2004. He received the Platinum award from H.H. The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Education Excellence Day 2013 (Ph.D. category). He also received the 2020 Best Research Paper Award from Computer Communications, the IWCMC 2019 Best Paper Award, and the IEEE CCWC 2017 Best Paper Award. His research received funding from the Qatar National Research Fund, and his research outcomes were published in respected international conferences and journals. He is an editor for KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems, an editor for the International Journal of Sensor Networks (IJSNet), and a guest editor for IEEE Network. He also served as a Program Chair of the International Wireless Communications Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC 2019), as a Publicity chair of the ACM MoVid Workshop 2015, as a Local Arrangement Chair of NOSSDAV 2011, and as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member in various IEEE and ACM international conferences (NOSSDAV, MMSys, ACMMM, IC2E, and ICNC). His research interests span cloud computing, edge intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), private and secure networks, and multimedia systems. He is a senior member of IEEE and ACM,

Im ersten Teil unseres Programms werden wir wie immer einige Nachrichten besprechen, die diese Woche Schlagzeilen gemacht haben. Zunächst werden wir über den US-Drohnenangriff am 30. Juli in Afghanistan sprechen, bei dem Al-Qaida-Anführer Aiman al-Sawahiri getötet wurde. Danach diskutieren wir über den Taiwan-Besuch von Nancy Pelosi, der Sprecherin des US-Repräsentantenhauses, trotz der Einwände aus China. Im Teil unseres Programms, der sich mit Wissenschaft und Technologie beschäftigt, sprechen wir über eine am 28. Juli in der Zeitschrift Scientific Reports veröffentlichte Studie, die die finanziellen Auswirkungen invasiver Arten auf die weltweite Wirtschaft aufzeigt. Und zum Schluss diskutieren wir über die Entscheidung der Organisatoren des Eurovision Song Contest, aufgrund des andauernden Krieges nicht die Ukraine, sondern Großbritannien zum Gastgeber des Wettbewerbs 2023 zu ernennen. Im zweiten Teil unseres Programms, „Trending in Germany“, sprechen wir heute darüber, dass der Ballermann-Song „Layla“ weitere Diskussionen auslöst, auch über die existierende Legalisierung der Prostitution in Deutschland. Sollte das „System Layla“ wieder verboten werden? Wir werden auch darüber sprechen, dass seit der Schließung des Flughafens Berlin-Tempelhof 2008 überlegt wird, wie das Flughafengebäude genutzt werden könnte. Der Berliner Senat lehnt private Investoren ab, doch der Stadt fehlen die finanziellen Mittel. Im Moment herrscht ein kreatives Chaos. Bei einem US-Drohnenangriff in der afghanischen Hauptstadt Kabul wurde der Al-Kaida-Chef Aiman al-Sawahiri getötet. Die in Afghanistan herrschenden Taliban hatten im Doha-Abkommen von 2020 den USA eigentlich zugesichert, Terrorgruppen keinen Rückzugsort zu bieten. Peter Neumann ist Politikwissenschaftler für Sicherheitsstudien am Kings College in London und Experte für islamistischen Terrorismus. Er erklärt, ob das Doha-Abkommen gescheitert ist und welchen Einfluss das Terrornetzwerk Al-Kaida heute noch hat. Steigende Lebensmittel- und Energiepreise können als Protesttreiber wirken und auch Extremisten anziehen, lauten Befürchtungen in der Bundesregierung. Ist diese Sorge berechtigt? Die USA haben den Anführer des Terrornetzwerks Al-Kaida, Aiman al-Sawahiri, bei einem Anti-Terror-Einsatz in Afghanistan getötet. Der 71-jährige Al-Sawahiri galt als Nachfolger von Osama bin Laden. She shared some of her experience , and offered an insight into the dynamics of Muslim Asian marriages – she shared the fact that Muslim Asian women are not always able to talk openly about their emotions and that the women need more open spaces where they feel safe enough to be able to talk to other people especially when the women are being abused in their relationships Dr Aiman also offered some suggestions on ways that Muslim Asian women can get through abuse in relationships and how they can sustain themselves when faced with abuse in their relationships. We also discussed how abuse in Muslim Asian Communities can be minimised .
