Empowered Relationship Podcast: Your Relationship Resource And Guide
When your partner or someone else calls you out or you feel attacked, it's natural to go into defense mode. Humans are simply wired that way. Defensiveness, however, can hinder your ability to relate to others and damage your relationships. Aperture awareness is an essential skill for open, honest, and healthy communication. While our brains are built to instantly read an aperture, not everyone is aware of this, so they fail to recognize the signs. The good news is that it's a skill that can be acquired. In this episode, Dr. Kathryn Ford elaborates on aperture awareness and its significance in relationships. You'll learn how to read body language as a sign of awareness, as well as some highly structured exercises to help people slow down. Check out the transcript of this episode on Dr. Jessica Higgin's website. What one thing would you change in your life right now which would make the greatest difference to your future?
Welcome to Episode 96 of our podcast, Courageous Conversations, hosted by Leanne Pilkington. In this episode, our guest is Kathryn Ford, a women's empowerment expert and celebrity consultant who designs incredible next chapters for women who are ready to make the rest of their life, the best of their life. Regardless of whether it's personal, professional or health-related, when one area of your life breaks down, it has the potential to impact everything. Empowerment expert Kathryn Ford offers a personal story of turning tragedy into triumph and shares her tips on how you can unlock joy and peace within. What one thing would you change in your life right now which would make the greatest difference to your future? That's the key question empowerment expert and celebrity consultant Kathryn Ford asks each client she works with as she seeks to help women design their ‘incredible next chapter'. It's an approach that is based on Kathryn's own life experience of turning tragedy into triumph and is the successful concept that saw her found the Excellence Institute in 2013. In this Courageous Conversation with Leanne Pilkington, Kathryn shares her insight into the mind-body connection and how she used it to overcome a series of personal challenges, including a rare disease, a devastating misdiagnosis, and a toxic marriage that ultimately saw her husband draw a gun on her. Kathryn notes people often can't identify what's holding them back, but chances are there is one defining element that has flow-on effects to everything else. Whether it's work that affects your relationships, relationships that impact health, or health that impacts work, those three elements of life can't be viewed in isolation, she explains. Instead, you need to find the key and focus on the person as a whole, and when you do, there's an opportunity to take a ‘quantum leap' towards true happiness. In a conversation that offers a fascinating insight into mindset, self-awareness and the art of unlocking success, Kathryn shares her story of overcoming adversity and the tools she used to turn her own life around while also assisting others. “The results in your life that you would love are there. It's just a matter of learning how to focus,” – Kathryn Ford. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast via Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify or Google Podcasts.

Have you ever heard of the Reticular Activating System? Me neither, until recently when I was talking with Kathryn Ford. I actually knew the impact of this system, through other research I've done on how powerful our thoughts are, but didn't know what it was called. (FYI, it's a network of neurons located in the brain stem, that ultimately determines how we see the world. There's a lot more to it, of course.) And how we see the world ultimately determines what happens to us and for us. And because what we think about is so powerful, when I talked with Kathryn we discussed how important it is to scan for more of what's right. This way, you're telling your brain that you want more of that (good stuff, what's right, what inspires you, etc.) And then you get more of that! Sound simple? Well, actually, it is. Listen in and learn more about this and how Kathryn's journey led to her inspirational work. And now she's beaming with light to help you get there too. She encourages us to find the support we need. And remember far back to when you were a kid, and ask yourself: what did you love? This is a huge clue to your happiness and success. We all want to live abundant, successful lives, filled with love. It is possible. You must ask certain questions. Then you have to listen. To work with Kathryn is an experience of a lifetime! The type of conversation that many couples have often doesn't help their relationship. Often it boils down to a debate, a checking in about who knows what and whose ideas are better. What's needed is an enlivened conversation that builds resilience and allows both people to explore and learn together. They can then move out of an adversarial mindset to a place where they can learn and be resilient together. Learning is the most important thing that a couple needs to do. A relationship can be demanding and needs energy and an inspiring vision, something to aim for that learning can be added to. The vision is what you're going to learn to do together not who you already are when you start the relationship.

An Interview with Diana Min and Kathryn Ford - Learning to Receive All That You've Been Desiring In this interview you will learn: How Kathryn's unexpected blindness led her down a transformative journey of healing. How love is able to heal the trauma of the past as well as diseases of the body. How finding your self-worth will allow you to receive opportunities for happiness, love and fulfillment.
Today's woman was thriving and climbing the corporate ladder. She was respected and admired as a top HR executive. But things weren't all wonderful. Her marriage was toxic but she couldn't leave. She had grown up in a family where marriages were not allowed to fail. And then a health challenge came her way and rocked her world even further. She desperately needed to take back control of her life. So, in 2012 she started her own company and put her total focus toward creating high levels of excellence in personal and business relationships. In this new venture she changed all aspects of her life – how she thought, how she took care of herself and who she surrounded herself with. She began to understand the complexities of herself and of others. And her ability to bring others to a high level of excellence unfolded. Her path to greatness had begun and has continued to unfold in ways she couldn't have ever imagined. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Kathryn Ford.
In this episode, we interview Founder and CEO of Excellence Institute Kathryn Ford. Kathryn shares how her own medical struggles led her to embody and teach others the importance of mind, body and soul care. https://excellenceinstitute.com/wealth/ PROMO CODE: WEALTH2020
Kathryn jumps in and shares her story and takes us to her early twenties, thriving professionally but feeling trapped within a toxic marriage. Imagine waking up to blindness, and then being diagnosed with MS, but she made the choice to be a medical miracle. She took that message and empowered herself to be well, through research and taking charge of her health. She resonated with Dr. Bernie Siegal, not only followed his lead but further developed her own protocol and lived it. Activating her own inner pharmacy and healing her body. But fate challenged her again, finding out she was mis-diagnosed her original condition to face an even tougher one. But this time, she came armed with lots of tools and she once again proved the mind body connection is real and that we have more control over our health than we ever considered possible. Kathryn shared that these experiences were not her most terrifying. Imagine arriving home and finding yourself focused down the barrel of a gun. Thankfully this experience came to a positive conclusion. Kathryn said we can use our imagination to create what we love, rather than ruminating in the what if's. Kathryn knows that cure isn't possible for everyone, but many can use her tools to improve their health. Tune into Kathryn story and know that anything is possible. Who better than a registered nurse to educate on important environmental issues? Have you ever stopped to consider what type of impact your daily choices have on your community, much less the entire planet? I’m certain that Covid 19 has forced you to change how you live and hopefully has caused you to reflect on how you want to LIVE going forward. So many disruptions have occurred as well as many inconveniences, all the things we have taken for granted we are learning to cultivate gratitude for. I believe the only way through this is together and the more individuals can consider the planet and their communities when making decisions, the better off we will all be. Whether you have considered public health and the environment as important endeavors up until now is irrelevant. If you weren’t aware, Covid 19 is a massive wake up call from the planet! If you can’t tell, she is begging for our attention and demanding we change our ways in order to live in safety and harmony on this beautiful Earth. Our current reality is a wonderful opportunity to gain clarity on what really matters at the end of the day. Public health and environmental issues have never been so important. Who better than nurses to help support and shine a light on these two very important issues? Nurses are well positioned to take a leadership role in public and environmental matters. Today’s Divine Download’s podcast episode with Kathryn Ford Richter, The Solar RN exemplifies how nurses can really do and become whoever they chose as long as they are willing to do the work. Tune in to learn easy ways you too can become a better steward of the earth starting with baby steps like recycling. Learn how Kathryn was able to get our of her own way and pursue Solar power as a nurse entrepreneur even though she was so passionate about other areas in her work. One of my favorite truth bombs from Kathryn: "Whatever specialty you’re in and how you’re practicing nursing, it’s all lessons. Keep going until you find it and it’s aligned."
